A beautiful restaurant, kind waiters. We both had a chateaubriand, one was absolutely perfect, but the other one... not so much. The carpaccio as a starter was really good, very tasteful. And so was the (red) wine!

Arrivate solo nel tardo pomeriggio di giovedì scorso, seguendo il consiglio del nostro hotel, abbiamo trovato il vostro ristorante sotto i portici. All'inizio, siamo state entrambe ben accolte dal primo cameriere che ci ha spiegato di aspettare un attimo al bar per verificare la dispobiliità, ma poco dopo è arrivato il responsabile di sala che mi ha SUBITO imposto di parlargli SOLO in inglese! Lo abbiamo seguito al tavolo (mal volentieri) SOLO perchè troppo stanche dal viaggio e avremmo dovuto ricominciare la nostra ricerca, visto che la reazione immediata sarebbe stata quella di andarcene poco dopo averlo ascoltato. Il resto del servizio, dall'ordine al conto (medio-alto) è stato buono ma, di sicuro, non lo consiglierò fino a che non cambierete il ricevimento del responsabile di sala troppo forzato e formale. Se perderete altri clienti, senza saperne il motivo, sarà perchè non sono riusciti neanche ad accedere a quello di buono che potreste (ma non è detto) offrire.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere is superb for dinner. Steak is of high quality, tasty and is cooked exactly as per your order. Side dishes are yummy.

Quelque soit le jour ou l'heure on nous a systématiquement demandé si nous avions une réservation alors même que le restaurant était vide, même une heure après....
Ne pas perdre son temps il y a beaucoup d'autres restaurant dans lesquels ils font un effort pour vous trouver une place

Entramos a hora española (las 2 pm) cierra pronto a las 3pm hora local. No se como expresar lo bien que hemos comido. La carne exquisita , la ensalada de cecina sublime y el vino, PORRAIS fabuloso. Recomiendo este sitio a la gente amante de la carne, ya que el peix brilla por su ausencia en la carta. Tulia, muchas gracias por tu servicio y recomendaciones eres una gran profesional.

O espaço é bastante agradável, em plena baixa de Lisboa. O atendimento e atenção foi formidável. A carne bastante boa! A carta de vinhos muito completa embora com preços algo inflacionados mediante pvp.

The chateaubriand was quite tough and not at all tender and flavorful, as advertised. A wasted €30 for sure. We are staying 5 nights at the hotel and certainly will find other places to eat during our stay. Nicely decorated restaurant. A pity the food does not live up to the decor

On arrival we had a drink at the bar before booking dinner for 7.30- bartender was very friendly & chatty, so in for dinner we where greeted & shown to our table by Adam! He was loud & abrupt at this stage, so we get menus & we look over them he then asks are we ready to order we say a couple more minutes please he said no rush we are open until 11 tonight & just walked away, so we order food & i ask can i taste the wine first as you do in any restaurant (good or bad) he responds in an abrupt manner again- you can taste it after i open it for you! Basically like it or not you order you drink it! At this stage i said ok so he set the bottle at the table & said 2 seconds ill be back to open it! 5 mins later we asked could he open it please & he responed with 1 second! My wife then said to him you already said that & he challenged her, (not good at all)At this stage i had enough & got up from the table & walked away, he challenged us on the way out saying you ordered food.this guy has issues & is just plain rude, your in a customer service environment & should remember that or go do a different job as ive never being treated as bad in any other restaurant like this. I was walking out the door furious & realised i never paid the bar tab so walked back to the bar & we where approached by the manager & asked why we where leaving so we explained & he told us tgere having problems in with restaurant (1 big problem in my opinion) he said theres no charge for the drinks even tho i insisted he still said no. Handled nicely & said please try enjoy the rest of the eveing, i would never go back unfortunately on this experience & if it was my place id seriously consider staff training quickly before its too late!

Wait staff is very good, service is as it should be, My wait time was 29 minutes, which is on par with some other stake houses I have had recently. During the wait time they offered me bread, and asked if I wanted any appetizers, so attentive to customers. I wish you could order the same food in the bar section as the restaurant section, it doesn't make sense to me, but I had to move sections to get any stake cuts for my entree, which I found to be odd.

Excellent food and service. We inadvertently made a reservation for the Porto location. (thanks to TripAdvisor) but the lovely hostess (Sharon?) was able to accommodate us and we were so glad she did. Every person we encountered was personable and helpful. The Ribeye was perfect and the port was excellent. Great experience all around. Would definitely recommend.

Restaurant à deux pas de la place du commerce. Cadre sympathique. Cuisine internationale basé sur le boeuf (tartare, entrecôte etc). Belle carte des vins. Petit reproche mais c'est peut-être culturel, le service était un peu trop insistant, notamment sur le vin ! Quand on dit merci, ce n'est pas la peine de revenir 30 secondes après pour refaire les niveaux... Mais bon, on sent la volonté de bien faire. Un agréable moment entre amis

One of the best restaurant for beef!! You have to take your dinner here. A verry warm welcome embrace you here. I take the chateau briand and for starter carpaccio. Wow!! Amazing meat. It melt on sour tongue. Very friendly personal with a pretty good service. Excellent. I can recommand this for every one which loves great beef.

Hugely overpriced and very poor quality meat a lot of which was not edible and also was lacking in flavour unfortunately. Also 10 euros for a pint of lager. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Waiter also spent half an hour trying to sell us extortionately priced bottles of wine (£750!!!)

Con esta es la segunda vez que como aquí. La primera vez entramos porque teníamos prisa, parecía un sitio de turistas pero estaba al lado de la salida de la excursión que teníamos a las 14:00 y pese a eso, decidimos entrar. Nos gustó tanto que decidimos volver.
Todos los platos de 5, el servicio de 5. Pedimos el carpaccio de ternera, buenísimo, uno de los mejores que he tomado; ensalada de pollo, hamburguesa y el sándwich de atún todo excelente. Sin duda muy recomendable y una grata sorpresa pues no lo esperábamos. Relación calidad/precio muy buena por la calidad y el servicio recibido.
Es la vez que mas he escrito. Por algo será!

Terrible service, the waiter was impolite to start with. Then nightmare began when the food came - beef cheek was not tender at all, and we ordered medium rare for our T-bone but the one that was served was nearly well-done.... but since the attitude of the staffs was so bad, we didn’t dare ask for changing the steak as we were afraid they might do something on the food so we quickly paid and left...
The staffs did ask if everything was alright but we felt like it was just formality because we did point out the steak being too over cooked but they did not even apologize or offer to do anything abt it.... instead they completely ignored us and went to bring us the bill.
Terrible terrible restaurant. Never again, will never recommend to anyone

분위기도 좋고 스테이크도 진짜 맛있었어요~가격이 포르투갈에 비하면 조금 세긴하지만 그래두 만족스러운 식사였어요~ 그리고 서비스가 진짜 너무 좋아요! 잘생긴 직원들이 수시로 괜찮냐 맛있냐 물어봐주고 필요한거라던지 메뉴설명도 너무 친절하게 해주시더라고요~리스본에서 진짜 고급진 레스토랑을 원한다면 이곳을 추천!!

Sencillamente exquisito. Además de la calidad de la materia prima, la presentación de los platos y, cómo no, su excelente sabor, el trato por parte de los trabajadores de este restaurante fue espectacularmente educado y profesional. Explicación de todos los platos, sus elaboraciones e ingredientes, de manera personalizada y siempre con una sonrisa en la boca. Gran conocimiento de los caldos y vinos portugueses. Cuando se le pone pasión y amor a lo que haces, nada puede salir mal (debo decir que por lo bueno se paga un mayor precio). Metre, Chef, Sumiller y resto de camareros, muchas gracias por esta experiencia. Si volvemos a Lisboa, no lo dudaremos. Canary Islands Style!!!

Überragendes Restaurant. Kann ich wirklich jedem empfehlen . Haben dort zu Abend gegessen und das Fleisch (Loin 200g) hat eine Top Qualität. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das gesamte Ambiente lässt einen wirklich gut Speisen . Nachdem das Personal heraus gefunden hatte, dass ich Geburtstag habe gab es noch ein Überraschungskuchen. Einfach toll !

Obnoxious waiters. Terrible service attitude. The steak was nothing to write about. The starters were ordinary. For a restaurant that ha "wine" in its name, it has a very limited wine menu. Worse still is that the head waiter was always trying to plug in the most expensive wine choice. The waiters were not even trained to pour wine to a group.
Highly disappointing experience in a city with too many great restaurants.

My fellow travelers I would like to bring to your attention that this place is not a restaurant, it's as a fellow reviewer said earlier a local food place service... We got the review to eat here from Pestana CR7 hotel, (which I had a word with about removing them from the list) called to reserve he hung up, gave impression he doesnt understand the language (well iv got something to tell you, english is also not my mother tongue. Called again reserved under the name LULU he said his kitchen closes at 10:30pm when it closes at 11pm as you see above... Reached there on time to see a angry looking man that's an excuse for a waiter and not attending to us.. stood waiting for a few then another friendly waiter came to tend us, he didn't find our name in the reservation turns out he wrote the name Julio... We sat on the table for another good while and as I sat there I went through the reviews and when I pulled my head up, I saw my wife upset, that was the last straw...

Afraid can not be a positive as others. On the plus side service was good and I enjoyed the wine. Unfortunately the beef was very poor, first steak was aged sirloin was meant to be medium rare but was easily well done. Replacement was rare and cold and taste very average. Maybe just unlucky.

I recommend this restaurant. Restaurants in Lisbon seem to be rated high but are not even half as good. I would truly give it a 4 - 4.5 stars, but that won’t be just in the way restaurants are rated in the city, hence my 5 stars
Summery:
Great restaurant. Been there twice in my last trip to Lisbon a few days ago. Ordered the rib eye, the 60 day matured sirloin, French fries, potatoes with lime, pepper sauce and chimichurri sauce, the ultimate sin, lemon pie ... Offcourse not on one visit :)
Food Quality (4.5) :
the meat is amazing, the ingredients are fresh, only had a problem with a batch of the bread that tasted perfumy and they replaced it with a freshly baked batch right away. The meat sauces were good: pepper sauce and chimichurri were the best, the mushroom sauce was on the bland side.
Service (4.5) :
two different people served us on two different occasions, both were very good, one more attentive and explains more passionately about the wines and food. Overall the service was amazing, can get a bit slow if the place is full, but still reasonable.

We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at RIB and highly recommend this restaurant and friendly staff. We arrived at 9:30pm and were seated outside at a comfortable table for two. Adam, our server, was incredibly helpful in choosing the right Portuguese wines for our tastes and helping us to navigate the menu. My wife had the beetroot risotto and I had the 60 day-aged steak. Both dishes and sides were delicious, but the steak was particularly good...accented with three varieties of salt, choice of special sauces, onions, red pepper, and a house butter melted on top; it was cooked to perfection (medium rare). For dessert, upon the recommendation of Adam's uncle, we enjoyed a chocolate crunchie and the lemon meringue sorbet--both wonderful. We would return here in a heartbeat and hope Adam can make it to Ohio some day, or at least the Grand Canyon.

Very trendy place with attentive staff, but were served a steak that was well below standard for the price (43£) and were told when we complained that it was practically inedible, that they were unable to refund the price of the steak. Terrible customer service, wine was overpriced, all in all a bad and expensive experience. My advice is to give it a wide berth and head for any of the other street restaurants which provided far superior food,better customer service and fat better value for money!!

Das Restaurant bietet ein gemütliches Ambiente und einen sehr guten Service. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gebraten und, ebenso wie die Beilagen, sehr lecker. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt meiner Ansicht nach komplett überein. Für einen gemütlichen Abend mit dem Partner sehr zu empfehlen, den Nachmittagshunger sollte man aber wo anders stillen.

It’s very rare when you can’t fault a restaurant. This place, wow!
The steaks were delicious, cooked to perfection. We had some help choosing our wine (apologies we forgot the name of the gentleman) he knew his stuff! Best part of the evening... the staff! The service was absolutely incredible.
We highly recommend this restaurant.

Supergoed steakrestaurant. Een van de betere in Lissabon. Zeer vriendelijke, Engelssprekende bediening. Het eten is van uitzonderlijk goede kwaliteit (steak) en zeker een aanrader. Sfeer is gezellig. Niet het goedkoopste restaurant maar het geld zeker waard.

Maybe it’s unfair to compare RIB to the majority of New York steak houses. The highest end steak here was a major disappointment. Felt I was going to have a great meal but it was dry and tasteless. Service was good. Bread excellent. I hope they take this as constructive info. Send an owner to NY and sample our food. Maybe it’s your cows. Sad and depressed animals.

Upmarket steak and wine restaurant that prides itself on local produce. The staff were a real treat, taking the time to explain every dish we enquired about. The steak was cooked perfectly, was tender and delicious. I enjoyed the Duoro with my steak which was a great pairing. The desserts were beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The interior was well appointed and not unlike a wine cellar. A great place for a special meal.

Nice place in great location, in the square. Very engaging waitress who seems to speak like 5 languages which is pretty impressive. Food was good, my sirloin was a bit well done and chewy but still ok. My husband liked his cod burger also. The sorbet was good but the ice cream cake was too sweet.

Das Essen war super. Qualität des Fleisches . Das Risotto kann ich auch empfehlen. Falls jemand Koriander nicht mag, im vorraus sagen, dann ist es kein Problem das es nicht so gewürzt wird. Wir waren von einem Jahr schon da. Leider war die Bedienung nicht top, sind wir uns besser gewohnt. Sind sicher nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Absolutely fantastic! Service was the best I've had in Portugal. The steak was fantastic but service really makes the experience. Great knowledge and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Topped off with a complimentary cheesecake which led me on nicely cocktails in the bar. Big up Alex or Adam (forgot sorry)

Quite disappointing.
Meat quality is average, sauces seem to come from the Tetra Pak. Why would you serve a steak with little mountains of salt as garnish, I really wonder. And on the side some kind of fruit jam?
According to the service, the mixed vegetables have a lot of ginger in them, which thankfully they did not do that, at least. Instead, they add a half raw egg to mix it under, kind of like what you might have with beef tatar. Really??!
Thé only thing that turned out quite nice was the tomato salad.
In summary, the astonishingly poor service (forgetting items several times, no grasp of English at this touristic location) coupled with poor quality and expensive menu makes me suggest to give it a miss.

Had dinner here yesterday and I had the mosy delicious piece of loin ever, grilled perfectly, presented beautifully and tasted great. Good sides as well and very friendly waiters. A bit more expensive compared to others, but that's what you get back in quality. They also come to check the time you like betweeen starter and main and regularly check if all is ok. Would certainly go again if I visit Lisboa again.

Average. Nothing special. Steak was overcooked. Wine pore is pathetic (like a taste on the bottom of the glass). Service is just as bad as in all of Lisbon - you have to flag down the waiter to ask for another glass of wine and they check on you 20 minutes after you got your food.

Absolutely stunning place for food. Friendly staff, probably the tastiest steak I've had and all at very reasonable prices. All produce from Portugal. Had chef's special mushroom starter then chateaubriand cooked just how I requested it :)

I just can recommend you this restaurant, it was simply very good in terms of food and employees. we didn't reserved but the waitresses directly found a solution and was ablenro fund us a place (so it's better to call before ). the waiter spoke a very good English and make us good wine suggestion and present us the plate as a professional. there is one star missing only because that when you order 600 gr meat, the 2 last peace were cold (little bit a shame). I will for sure return in this restaurant and try something else. Again thank you for this good evening!!!

Средний по цене,по качеству блюд и обслуживанию-но можно провести обеденное время на небольшой террасе у входа в ресторан с видом на площадь Коммерции. Заказывли два вида стейков-один был пережарен (хотя заказывали медиум прожарку),а второй был неплохой,но не супер.Официанты вроде и старались, улыбались, но приходилось за каждым блюдом просить принести столовые приборы, и оч долго ждали заказ. В Лиссабоне были не в одном ресторане-есть с чем сравнить.Второй раз я бы уже туда не пошла.

The best lunch on the last day of vacation. The appetizer and main course were very good, but dessert was EXCELLENT. The service was very respectful. The atmosphere and decor very cozy.

Out for lunch on my own in Lisbon, I walked into RIB Beef & Wine thinking I knew what was in store, just from the name. It was far more subtle than that.
The starters came quickly and all looked amazing. I really love the fresh bread with homemade butter, rillette, olive oil with “flor de sal”, the meat croquettes with smoked onion sauce and the matured beef “Cecina” (beef air-cured ham) to whet my appetite. It was a great way to start the meal ahead.
It was then on to the main courses. I knew that the beef was going to be great so I had to make it one of my choices. After some deliberation with the excellent waiter, I went for the 300 gr of 60 days matured Sirloin (Special selection matured with bone for 60 days) with sides of stir fried Asian vegetables and turnip tips rice with onion chorizo. They went so well together! Just perfect!
I sat looking around this beautifully crafted restaurant. You have to try this place. There was still room for dessert and “The Ultimate Sin" - Caramel chocolate petit gateau is the type of thing on a menu that I just can’t resist. It was heavenly. The way that this finished the meal just left me with a huge smile on my face. I can’t wait to find time to go back and eat it all again.

Food was absolutely sensational, service was brilliant too, all the waiters were fluent in English also which helps! They were very knowledgeable in regards choosing our dishes, I would advise anyone to go you won't be let down. Extremely well priced too, spent £50 on a starter, two main meals, two large bottles of water, a glass of wine and a dessert.

Un servicio excelente! Trato muy profesional, se preocupan mucho de explicarte si no conoces bien el idioma y nunca meten prisa. Se puede reservar desde su web y ningún problema con los horarios, la mesa estaba ya preparada cuando llegamos! La carne estaba también excelente, te preguntan qué punto prefieres. Carne sin nervios. No tiene sal, pero en el propio plato te ponen varios tipos diferentes de sal para que cada vez que cortes la carne puedas ponerla ligeramente encima. Te preguntan también si quieres salsa extra y cuál. Aconsejan bebida/vinos acorde con la carne que vas a comer. Simplemente excelente! Volveremos cuando la economía lo permita! (Es un poco caro, pero lo veo más que justificado por la excelente calidad de la comida)

Wir waren dort zweimal während unserem Aufenthalts essen und es war genial. Durch die Bilder sieht es zu teuer aus was es nicht für diese Qualität nicht ist. Man wird sehr respektvoll behandelt und die Atmosphäre ist einfach nur sehr gemütlich und angenehm. Dieses Restaurant eignet sich für Paare und größere Gesellschaften aber nicht so gut für Familien mit kleinen Kindern.

Was expecting better burger from a place that specialized in meat. A bit over cooked and dry meat without seasoning to make it flavorful like salt and pepper. Great French fries, better than chips in my opinion since they were salty which made the meat taste even more bland. Dessert was pretty but ok to taste with egg whites not fully blended and icy pistachio ice cream. Mustache chocolate was nice, not too chocolaty.

Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Wir hatten 2 Vorspeisen, 2 300gr Filets, 2 Beilagen und eine Flasche Wein für rund 100€. Die Qualität war wirklich top. Der Service könnte noch etwas Feintuning gebrauchen aber nichts was den positiven Eindruck wirklich schmälern könnte. Wer draussen sitzt bekommt auch noch ein Gratis Schaulaufen der Touristen geboten. :)

I was very impressed with the quality of the service, very professional and attentive - and fast too. While I had better cuts of meat in some high end restaurants, there is a great deal of choice on side dishes (not at all to be given for granted) and some very interesting appetisers. The wine chart is not extensive, but well within what you would expect for the place.

Malgré un accueil chaleureux, le temps de service est beaucoup trop long.
Cadre luxueux, mais la qualité de la viande et surtout la cuisson ne sont pas au rdv.
J'ai du renvoyer une entrecôte mature de 60 jours commandée bleue, servie trop cuite... La deuxième version est arrivée limite à point...
Nouveau restaurant, on voit qu'il est en rodage... Peut être une bonne adresse, mais pas pour tout de suite.
Un bon point, la direction est ouverte à la remarque..

O Rib Beef & Wine é um paraíso na terra quem é amante de carne. Localizado no terreiro do Paço, na Pousada Lisboa o espaço é simplesmente magnifico.
Toda a decoração, o ambiente, a envolvente, tudo 5*. Diria que é um casual chique, formal mas nada pretensioso.
Visitei o Rib durante o restaurant week e o menu era composto por:
Pão manteiga, riflette, azeite flor sal
Entrada:
Cecina de vaca maturada (finíssimas fatias de carne, quase parecia presunto. Muito mas muito bom.)
Cogumelos assados, molho romanesco, ovo e pinhões (Uma tijelada de molho com cogumelos. Não é muito a minha onda, mas como era doce, combinou bem com o salgado da cecina de vaca)
Prato:
Entrecôte sem osso e Rib Eye (Ambos excelentes, grelhados no ponto certo, curiosamente gostei mais do Entrecôte. No prato, nó de Manteiga por cima e variações de flor de sal dão-lhes um toque ainda mais guloso. Para acompanhar um arroz de grelos e chouriço, batata frita e dois molhos. Tudo muito bom.)
Sobremesa:
Crunchie: Chocolate crocante, creme de queijo e doce de leite (Perfeito. O meu tipo de sobremesa e ideial para comer depois de um belo naco de carne. Leve, doce e saborosa. Gostei de todos os componentes.)
Farofias (Não gosto muito pelo que só provei.)
O serviço foi impecável, sempre atencioso e atento ao pormenor.
Recomendo o Rib Beef & Wine a todos os amantes de carne. Não é um restaurante barato, mas vale a pena até à ultima grama. Muito, muito bom.
