I'm amazed to see people say they thought this guy was a good host. From the moment we arrived he was making bad jokes and insisting we try his chorizo. We tried to order seafood and he kept at it, and must have insisted like 10 times along with making more annoying comments. In the end we just left.

Excelente custo benefício, pagamos 7,50 euros no prato do dia que é um prato típico da região de Portugal, chamado bacalhau a Brás! O tamanho do prato é bem servido e muito gostoso! Pra quem quer economizar vale a pena o custo benefício!

Ein wunderbarer Ort, inmitten der süßen Gassen von Alfama, zum Verweilen. Der Besitzer ist sehr sehr Gastfreundlich, agiert mit jedem Gast individuell, sodass man sich wie ein Mitglied der Familie fühlt. Das Essen ist ebenfalls erstklassig. Frisch, schnell und einfach lecker! Hier bekommt man übrigens den besten Ginjinha von ganz Lissabon! ;)

Leaving this place 5stars, just like all the other reviewers, because it's outstanding. The couple that runs the place are so lovely and cook all the food themselves, very fresh seafood! The chap also speaks good English and is very hospitable.

Cozy, small, very well hosted family run restaurant. Very good service, the food was delicious, please do try the “vinho verde” and “bolinho de bacalhau”, they were quite fresh and special. The “bacalhau cozido” was quite nice too. A super great time with the service, cheerful and attentive, specially early evening when the place is empty!

In due settimana in Portogallo abbiamo provato diversi locali, ma nessuno ci ha deluso tanto quanto questo posto. Esaltatissimo su TripAdvisor da diversi italiani era giusto a pochi passi dal nostro appartamento, quindi perché non andarci? Bene, andiamo in due: io e il mio ragazzo la cameriera è una ragazza e ci prende l'ordine, noi ordiniamo due polpette di baccalà, due "steak with french fries" e da bere. Ci arrivano subito le polpette che però erano fredde, quando invece le abbiamo sempre mangiate calde, ma vabbè non ci facciamo caso. Arriva un piatto della "steak": non mi aspettavo una bisteccona grigliata, ma nemmeno una piccola scaloppina secca. Fatto sta che arriva solo un piatto. Io avevo ormai finito di mangiare e il mio ragazzo non era ancora stato servito, chiedendo alla cameriera scopriamo che il piatto non era in ritardo come pensavamo, bensì lei aveva capito che avessimo ordinato solo un piatto!!! Pensando di avere ragione non ci chiede nemmeno scusa, gli chiede solo se gliela doveva far preparare, ma noi chiediamo il conto e ce ne andiamo. A parte che 6,50 euro per una scaloppina quando in certi posti ti fai un pranzo a quel prezzo sono un furto, la cosa che non abbiamo mandato giù è stata questa completa non curanza di chi è venuto lì per mangiare e comunque per essere servito in maniera decente. Ho trovato davvero maleducata l'assenza di scuse, può capire di dimenticarsi un ordine per carità, ma bisogna anche saper rimediare l'errore, anzi, una volta chiesto il conto abbiamo pure dovuto aspettare ulteriore tempo. Casualmente la famiglia francese da parte a noi non è stata trattata in questa maniera... forse perché eravamo praticamente coetanei della cameriera. Durante la "cena" però abbiamo capito il gran numero delle recensioni positive, è uno di quei locali in cui le persone che organizzano i tour ci portano i clienti a bere la ginjinha e poi loro fanno la recensione su quella (tra l'altro costa meno a un bar vicino che non fa pagare il bicchierino di cioccolato 0,50 centesimi) Totalmente NON RACCOMANDATO

Venues sous l’avis de tripadvisor, nous nous attendions à un super repas. Résultat : des plats minuscules et chers, une qualité médiocre. Seul point positif, un patron très sympathique qui offre le digestif.

Un petit resto typique, un accueil chaleureux, de la cuisine simple et goûteuse, le personnel super agréable, prix modéré, nous sommes repartis pleins jusqu'au oreilles, nous reviendrons avant de partir. Recommandons chaleureusement

Muy buen sitio para parar a comer después de visitar el castillo de San Jorge. Atención excelente en un local pequeño y bien atendido. Preparan un chorizo al infierno muy demandado, pero sin lugar a dudas lo mejor el Bacalao a Bras, el mejor que he tomado en Lisboa. Por último, no dejen de probar un chupito de Ginja, mi descubrimiento de mi último viaje.

Amei o Cantinho da Rute, já la fui 2 vezes com meus amigos e comemos muito bem. Lugar ideal para quem quer petiscar!

Très bon pas chers super endroit à faire quand vous êtes sur Lisbonne

Découvert lors d'un tour culinaire nous y sommes retourné tant on a apprécié les plats. Cuisine simple, familiale et typique. Les plats sont bons et abordables. Les personnes qui ont qualifié l'endroit de cher ont pas dû essayer d'autres établissements. Chorizo grillé, fromage (accompagnés de miel et confiture), tartines, vin et bière et café pour 10 balles par tête. Le service était tout a fait convivial.

We came here as part of a larger Alfama food tour. This is a quintessential family neighborhood restaurant with tons of character to boot. We were served Bacalhau a Bras and chargrilled Chorizo. The food and service were both top notch and made for a great ending to our food tour.

Classificação duvidosa face a data da visita ( jantar santos populares ) comida com má qualidade desde o pão que teria 2 dias acredito, aos restantes pratos, o prato de sardinhas que vinha variadas em boas e péssimas, foram alegadas feitas no almoço.

We stopped for a quick bite, wanting to try something that seemed more local. We ordered a grilled chorizo which was fine, 2 croquettes which were cold, very bland and overall not very appetizing, a board of charcuterie which seemed as if it was bought from a nearby mini mart, the bread was stale and hard. We should have bought our own things at the mart and eaten where we we staying and save a whole bunch on money.

A small restaurant with perhaps 6 tables. Very clean and tidy. We had a platter of cheeses and hams with two glasses of wine and a coffee for 26 euro. Not bad considering we were about 200 metres from the main waterfront square right in the heart of tourist town.

Questo ristorante del fado impone di stare al buio mentre i musicisti suonano e cantano, buona cucina, ma troppa musica!! Noi volevamo anche poter parlare invece durante la musica bisogna stare in silenzio altrimenti si viene richiamati. Porzioni contenute e prezzo medio, perché paghi la musica.

Such delicious food!! Definitely a “locals” place, super authentic. Absolutely get the chorizo that is prepared table side, it’s amazing!! Make sure you get at least one shot of the Jinginha, the owners will expect you to take one out of curtesy to them!

The "sausage on fire" is delicious and is prepared beside your table. This place sells the best brand of ginja (vila das rainhas) by the glass and by the bottle. It's a little hard to find because the address maps to about half a block from it's true location (edit pending), but well worth the effort. If you're sitting on the church steps near where Google maps says this place is, look slightly left and you'll see a narrow street heading away from you. Walk up that street and find this hidden treasure of Lisbon about a block up on the left side. Highly recommended for an afternoon snack and drink.
