Excellent evening-food good, service excellent & Faldo singer amazing. She sang & played guitar with such passion and feeling. Her performance went on all evening with just short breaks. Would definitely recommend.

Horrible from food experience perspective: milk hot chocolate (hot water with a dust of chocolate powder); pasteis bacahalau (only potatoes and onions); Portuguese steak (impossible to chew, very thin and full of cartilages), cod fish (filled with pork meat)

Great place, perfect food (we ate delicious fishes, one of best I had, for 15 euro, so reasonable price, tapas in good price), very nice and really careful people serving and great, touching fado concert.
We called there to reserve the table (no fee) for a dinner and we have got a great table just next to the artist.

Serata portoghese.Molto caratteristica, con una cantante del posto che cantava il fado. Bacalao alla crema molto buono, anche il vino non era male, prezzo accettabile(considerando che si ascoltava la cantante). Sul tavolo si trovano degli stuzzichini che non sono gratuiti e non di grande qualità e nessuno ve lo dice ma questo succede in tanti locali a Lisbona.

Tourist trap , just terrible. We waited 50 minutes for just 2 main dishes , the amount of food was just too little , the singer was great but she was singing just 2 songs and then a looong break. 14 euros for just 2 pieces of squish ,2 smaller shrimps and a pieces of cluttfish. Just avoid this place..

The food here is horrible. I ordered a custard pie and got whipped cream in the shape of a pie. Also my mom ordered the coffee and it was gross. The traditional Portuguese custard was not very good as well. The Fado was ok, a nice experience but only two songs are played at a time with long breaks.

Très cher, pour ce que c'est. Menu anoncé a 12€ disponible que jusqu'à 18h. Prix a la carte excessifs. N'ont pas les produits proposés sur leur carte. Les serveurs pas très aimables. Seule la chanteuse est bien.

Bon petit resto sans prétention mais avec du fado sans prise de tête... Un bon endroit dans alfama pour découvrir la magie de Lisbonne.. À noter que le fado est gratuit et que globalement on s'en tire pour 45€ pour un couple....vin compris

Nous étions un groupe de femmes entre 30 et 45 ans. Plats proposés à la carte non disponibles. Service long, erreur dans la prise de commande, du coup une personne qui mange seule après une attente de 30 min.
Prix un peu élevé pour la qualité des plats !
Attention ne peut pas parler, ni rire pendant les chants de fado, attendre fin de son tour de chant, car c est considéré comme irrespectueux.
Suggestions : insérer une note explicative sur le fado dans le menu ou sur une pancarte dans le restaurant.
Tous les touristes ne sont pas courant (comme nous ...), parce que chanteuse agressive ++++

Were juggling around between the two neighbouring terraces but ended up here. Bad choice after all, the 12 euro lunch menu was poor. Stale bread, dry olives, some sardines lettuce and potatoes thrown on a plate. Food next to us from the other restaurant looked amazing though..

The fado was nice but the food absolutely not !! I ordered the vegetarian dish of the day, guess what it was: a mix of salad, french fries, 10/12 beans, 2 poors brocoli, oranges and slices of apple, all these things together with ZERO SAUCE. I never saw that before, when I asked for sauces I receiced ketchup and mayo, perfect for my letuce pfff.

The only thing this place has going for it is it's inexpensive. But that's not uncommon in Lisbon.
Just meh. I ordered the codfish in creme and it was basically a fish casserole with shredded potatoes, onions, and cream (is that what they call cheese?). I like fish (usually whitefish or ahi) but this was too fishy for me. I sent it back and ordered the chicken kabob with bacon & onion. That was too salty to entirely finish. It comes with a salad (some chopped romaine lettuce and a quarter of a tomato) which can only be dressed wth weak vinegar and olive oil plus finely ground pepper, plus a side of french fries (why is Portuguese food frequently served with french fries?).
My friend ordered the codfish wth rice and said it was pretty bland. He had been looking forward to chicken piri piri, which had been listed on the menu outside but wasn't on the menu when we were seated, but he forgot to ask about it and ordered the codfish with rice instead. He said he basically ordered it because it was warm and he wasn't feeling well, but said he wouldn't eat it again.
The restaurant seemed to only be serving tourists, of which we were two. The fado was interesting but I'm not sure I'd seek it out again. How are people supposed to eat in the requested absolute silence? I felt self-conscious if I set my fork was too loud on my plate. And the performer glaring at the drunken lout who keeps loudly talking while she sings didn't improve the ambiance.

BEWARE! The food is just not good. They charge for the bread, the olives, and a small plate of meat which is on the table when you arrive. My husband ordered the squid which was full of ink making the entire meal bitter. The boiled potatoes had their skin on and when cut were actually brown inside, which means they had been boiled the day before and just warmed up. This place is definitely not a restaurant you should waste your money on. The only good thing was the Fardo.

Restauracja na dość średnim poziomie. Niby wieczorami jest tam fado ale wchodząc tam masz wrażenie, że wszyscy tam, łącznie z właścicielem myślą o tym kiedy wszyscy goście już sobie pójdą. A szkoda, ponieważ restauracja znajduje się w bardzo fajnym miejscu.

Tucked on a hill between the old town and some amazing g scenic lookouts this Fado joint is pretty good. After a long day of sightseeing and hiking the hills of Lisbon I wanted to just relax. We found this spot on our way down the hill after taking g some sunset pictures or the city. Further down the hill there are other Fado spots but they tend to be pretty small and a bit more pricey from what I saw.
The place itself is decent sized and is arranged to feel quite intimate. The wife and I had some kabobs and a liter of sangria. The meats were decent, cooked well enough letting the meats stand on it's own. I probably like a bit more seasoning on my meats but that may be a personal preference. The Fado was performed by a young lady who had such a striking and powerful voice that it surprised me a bit and I really enjoyed her soulful tunes. Because it was off season the restaurant was quiet, leading to us feeling like we were almost having a private show. It was fun but I can't help but feel like Fado might be better experienced in a group setting with a more vocal or participating crowd. Prices for the meal seemed pretty reasonable for what we got considering we got a show with our meal. I liked the spot and would recommend people to try it if they want to have a more intimate Fado experience in the off season

Cibo veramente orrendo,prezzi altissimi per la qualità che offrono,sembra cibi riscaldato in microonde, per non parlare del prezzo delle bibite,2€ per una bottiglia di acqua da 500ml, piatti con prezzi altissimi,quando siamo stati noi,oltretutto,la ragazza che doveva cantare il Fado,ha cantato in un altra stanza senza farsi vedere. Veramente pessimo! In 4 persone con 1 piatto a testa,2 acque da 4€ abbiamo speso 70€,roba da matti!

Muy bien excepto el precio de la bebida. Nos ha gustado mucho ver una cantante de fados en vivo. El bacalao con nata (crema) estupendo. ¡Una cerveza de botellín a cuatro euros y el vino más barato unos quince euros!

Great singer, but the food is not what we expected. We had reserved places early and chose to eat the fixed menu they provided (you could chose the main menu out of a few options). The soup was tasted kind of boring and hat too less spices, but with the salt and vinegar provided it was alright. The main menu was okay but neither special nor good looking ( e.g.mashed fish with unidentified potatoes). The only provided vegetarian menu were fries and spring rolls that seemed to come directly from the freezer. Also they were a way to greasy.It also has a salad without vinegar or oil. The dessert was very good(pastry probably homemade) .The selection of beverages was more than very limited no juices, no selection of wine or beer. To sum it up it wasn't that expensive (22 euro) but I wouldn't recommend to eat the menu here because it isn't definitely worth the price. The only reason to visit this restaurant is the fado singer who was more than excellent.

The food was very good. We had kabobs, sea bass and Portuguese steak. Service was very good.
Fado singer was quite nice but, upset that the crowd didn't quiet to listen and respect her talent.
This is a reasonably priced place with reasonably good Fado. About 100e for 4 persons.
Recommend.

They had in their menu that they have a vegetarian option (dish of the day) which turned out to be just the vegetarian appetizers that they had in their menu (some fries, rice, letuce, tomato, brocoli and fruits). For vegetarians is the worst choice for food. The only good thing was the fado music.

Przyszliśmy z narzeczona posłuchać koncertu Fado. Na miejscu usiedliśmy we wskazanym przez panią kelnerkę miejscu. Zaczęło się bardzo miło ponieważ artystka była bardzo dobra jednak po chwili przyszła Pani kelner i gdy dowiedziała się ze chcemy zamówić narazie tylko butelkę wina poprosiła abyśmy się przesiedli w inne - dużo gorsze miejsce. Dawno nie czułem takiej żenady i stanowczo odradzam ten lokal.

Si vous voulez perdre des kilos sur le trône allez dans ce restaurant pour ma part apres une morue à la crème surgelée j'ai perdu 2 kilos en 1 soirée ! Mieux que le régime Ducan cet établissement saura vous étonner par la cuisine surgelée degeulasse ! À éviter ! Seul point positif : la chanteuse de FADO qui a une superbe voix !

Restaurant que je ne recommanderait à personne nous sommes 5 venus en vacances à Lisbonne et avons mieux mangé la veille à notre appartement à manger des nuggets et des potatoes surgelés que dans ce restaurant de plus l’hygiène est déplorable (toiles d’arraignés un peu partout)
Je ne le recommanderait a personne sauf si vous voulez payer 16€ pour des plats surgelés

Prix excessif pour ce que vous avez dans l'assiette.
Heureusement, la chanteuse de Fado a su nous détendre grâce à sa magnifique voix.

Manger du surgelés, qui plus est, dégeulasse, n’est jamais un plaisir! Vous trouverez facilement des restaurants, moins chers et meilleurs, autour! Restaurant peu propre (toile d’araignées un peu partout, sol qui colle,...).
Seul petit point positif, la chanteuse était top! Mais malheureusement, le reste fait que vous n’appréciez pas le moment...
Je vous déconseille fortement !

La chanteuse était super, CEPENDANT la nourriture n’etait pas mangeable !! Le prix est plus cher qu’ailleurs pour manger DES SURGELÉS. Prestation très décevante je ne recommande pas du tout

Un bar restaurante acogedor, con buen ambiente y un excelente servicio. A veces tocan música en directo y el personal es atento y agradable. Se trata de un buen sitio para ir a comer un menú al mediodía, o para aprovechar las deliciosas tapas que preparan.

Plats copieux . Juste ne pas consommer sur la table en arrivant car sinon pris en compte sur l addition final. Très bonne situation géographique sur lisbonne. Ne pas hésiter à aller dans les rues derrières pour trouver place voiture.

Ich verstehe die schlechten Rezensionen nicht. Natürlich ist das Restaurant touristisch, aber was will man in der Lage auch anderes erwarten? Das Restaurant ist klein und gemütlich, das Essen war bodenständig, aber sehr gut. Ich hatte eine perfekt gegrillte Dorade, mein Mann hatte einen Rindfleisch-Spieß, von dem er immer noch schwärmt. Die Sängerin war sehr authentisch und sympathisch. Preise für Lissabon etwas hoch, jedoch in Ordnung für einen schönen Fado-Abend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Pasel de Fado last week. The fado singer who performed was outstanding, our server was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with him about the NBA. The fish cake appetizer was simple and delicious. I’ll be dreaming of them until I’m in Lisbon again.

Nettes kleines Fado - Restaurant, die Sängerin Mariana verfügt über eine tolle Stimme. Sie hat immer 3 Lieder gesungen und dann jeweils ca.15 Minuten Pause gemacht. Das ist okay so.
Das Essen (ich hatte gegrillte Sardinen) war gut. Man muss aber bei der Bestellung klar machen, welche der bereits auf dem Tisch stehenden Vorspeisen man möchte und welche nicht.
Die Bedienung (aus Nepal!) war sehr freundlich.

Visite pour un menu à 12 euros. On a eu peur quand on a vu la pyramide de trip advisor... Écoutez, nous avons bien mangé après avoir essayé les cinq plats du menu (nous étions 9). Des portions minces mais frites non surgelées.

Nous y sommes allés vers 15h, resto vide, service rapide. On a pris la formule à 12e. Le plat principal était bon et pas trop copieux. On le recommande pour un arrêt rapide en dehors des heures du Fado :)

La actuación de Fado es muy corta, ha cantado literalmente 5 canciones y el horario que ponen no es verdad. La comida no vale para nada con el precio que tiene a demás que a no había donde elegir y de la carta no les quedaba ni la mitad. A demás en el local havia mucho frio.

Um verdadeiro atentado a quem quer ouvir e apreciar o fado. O atendimento não é mau mas o ambiente e limunusidade que deveria ser mais baixa quase escura, quanto as entradas de um prato de enchidos e queijos sem sabores tipicos de Portugal os pratos sem paladar e muita fraca apresentação. Resumindo muito caro para o que me foi servido e a fadista não era má de todo, com tão fraco ambiente e pratos tipicos sem qualidade não dá para apreciar o fado cantado pela fadista.

Ik had gefrituurde kip met patat besteld maar dit was er niet, dus kreeg ik patat met kip en bacon er omheen... De patat was vet en slap, de bacon was zwart maar de kip was wel redelijk. Het nagerecht dat ik had besteld was er ook niet, dus kreeg ik ijs wat wel lekker was. De fado was wel leuk om een keer mee te maken.

SCAMERS!!! WATCH OUT! They tried 2 of the OLDEST tourist scams, that said, ok food, ok fado. The scams they tried were charging for food we did not order and that we did not eat and also short changing. The bill was 35 euro with the extra 7 euro of imaginary food that we did not have at all, we gave 1 bill, a 50 euro bill and they claimed we gave 40 euro. 17 euro the total sum of the two scams is not much but i feel offended that they tried such old tourist scams. When i pointed out "we gave you 1 bill and there is no 40 euro bill in existance, just 5/10/20/50/100/200 and so forth" then magically the food we did not eat dissapeared from the bill and then the story was, "yeah my misstake, you are right it was 50 and you did not eat the extra items, i got confused with what the customers at another table had". Basically if they did not try to scam i would give a 3-4 star review but because of the 2 scams they tried to pull its a 1 star.

Pour ceux qui ont mangé du poisson frais dans un vrai bon restaurant avec des plats fais maisons, impossible de dire que c est mangeable ici, ou alors vous n avez pas de palais. ce restaurant est absolument à fuire, ormis pour le fado, nourriture incipide, froide, poisson sans goût, pomme de terre froide, salade en sachet... immonde pour les amoureux de la bonne nourriture..

Attrape touriste.
On vous pose d'emblée un tapas à 13 euros sur la table, et une bouteille de vin que vous avez quand-même le droit de ne pas ouvrir.
Ensuite, pour ma part j'ai commandé la sélection de 3 fromages (catégorie tapas) et ai été surprise de n'avoir que le fromage (cela dit, ça correspondait à l'intitulé du menu!) Donc pas un bout de pain, pas une goutte de vinaigre. Simple, basique, à bon entendeur.
Seule la voix de la chanteuse de Fado soulage un peu le sentiment de s'être fait avoir.

Worried because of bad reviews. It was much better than we expected. Especially, we satisfied with the service of a waitress. Good food and fado for reasonable price. We had octopus rice and duck rice.

We wanted to listen to fado for the first time and we went there on a Wednesday night in March; when we arrived, at approximately 9.30 pm there were some people there, but the fado singer only sang 3 songs and left at 10pm. We ordered some sangria and tapas (there were not many choice left); some were just heated in micro wave. Awful experience. I agree it is a tourist trap. We ate very quickly as the waitresses were hurrying up to finish their service for that night I guess...

It was an ok experience, as we had just ate earlier and just wanted to have a drink. The waitress sat us down at a table near the exit, even though they had plenty of empty tables. We had the Vino Verde, which was ok, for 16€ a bottle (maybe a bit on the pricey side), and some bites, to go with the wine.
The fado singer was pretty good, very powerful voice, everyone applauded her, but the place is pretty touristy, and people were mostly talking during the (pretty short) performance.
They do accept payment by card, so that is a plus, but it's not a place I'd visit twice.

Lugar 100% recomendable.
La chica que canta fado es maravillosa; toca en directo y canta con una bonita y potente voz.
El lugar puede parecer un poco descuidado pero una vez dentro es acogedor.
La comida me pareció muy buena y la relación calidad/precio inmejorable.
Por norma general raciones abundantes y muy ricas.
Servicio super atento y rápido.
Espero volver a verles!

Went here only to drink some wine. They have really good and calitative wine - Vila Real Reserva dry red. The fado live music started at 19:00. It is a wonderful experience, singer with very good voice.

Pedimos una brocheta y a parte de muy escasa en relación a lo que hemos tomado durante estos días por Portugal bastante mala. Los pimientos quemados, el pulpo durisimo y la sepia insípida. Además venía con cuatro patatas cocidas y una ensalada muy cutre. No lo recomiendo.

A good meal and enjoyable fado music. We had the kebobs and squid rice which were excellent. A friend had the duck rice and it was very dry and burnt. I'd say just avoid that dish!

The sign outside the restaurant says 'Chicken Piri Piri'. So we went in and ordered what we thought was the signature dish. However, what was served to us was the most burnt, dry and bland roasted chicken ever. The staff seemed friendly although they forgot some part of the order and had to be reminded about it. All in all, there are much better places to eat in Lisbon, so i wouldn't recommend this one.

Nice fado place. Fado starts at 8 and ends at 11. So you can enter here and listen fado anytime between this. Plate is not that cheap, but including fado music, it's affordable.

The food was very good. I ordered the beef kebab and it was wonderfully tender. The music was lovely - a guitarist singing fado. It was just the right volume and intensity. The service was nice and friendly. My whole family had a lovely time. I would recommend it to friends.

The atmosphere of the traditional little restaurant is inspiring. We came for the music, but were a bit disappointed because the singer had to move after every two songs to the other section of the restaurant. The food was good!

Arrived to a salad & olives etc already on our table that we didn't order but had to pay for. Dinner of seabass & potatoes was dry & tasteless, my husband enjoyed his beef kabab. Alcohol was expensive. Tables far too close together, no privacy. You are practically sharing a table with the people beside you. Fado music not good. I won't be returning.

Lovely little traditional Portuguese restaurant with beautiful live Fado! If you go here you have to get one of the house specialities - the monkfish rice was delicious and very good value for money. Good and speedy service.

Muito caro para a qualidade apresentada.
A especialidade "Bacalhau com natas" é feito com paloco (substituto de bacalhau) e batata palha de pacote, sem salada – preço 12€ uma dose.
As "Ameijôas à Bulhão Pato" mais pareciam tirem sido tiradas de um prato de alguém, sem miolo e com aspeto lambido, para além de a receita não se identificar em nada com o original.
Salvou a refeição: as azeitonas, o vinho, as batatas fritas e o arroz de polvo que, para além não ter sido feito na hora (para um prato a custar 13€), estava com sabor agradável.

Received a voucher for a "Fado show" with a free welcome drink from our travel agency. We went. We soon noticed that the show wasn't much more than a dude with an out of tune guitar singing some songs. The server tried to be polite but his gum chewing was quite annoying. The food was bad. Cold french fries; bland, unseasoned lamb chops and the kebab wasn't kebab, it was regular chicken filet (which had no taste because of the salty bacon that was wrapped around it) hanging on a skewer. Seeing one staff member after another go for a smoking break isn't good either. The only positives were the Spanish beer and the mayonaise. That's why this place gets 2 stars, not 1. 2/5 would not walk that bloody distance again.

Just had my dinner there, a Wednesday night which was not very busy.
I waited over 45 mins for my clams and bread to arrive. After I finished my food it took another 20 mins for my boyfriend's fish kebab to arrive but the inside was raw, meaning we had to wait another 10 mins.
And yes, we told the waitress we want them to arrive all together in the very beginning.
We saw the waitress was trying, so we valued that and didn't complain. The guy behind the bar gave us some free shots with an explanation of everybody came in all together and there was some misunderstanding in the kitchen. But for us, to be honest, the food and the whole experience were just not pleasant at all. We've eaten out in Lisbon a few times, you can find a better places, somewhere that has better fado, better food and better price.

Terribly slow service. It took over one hour from the time i ordered just to get my appetizer. I didn't order anything special, just the "Full Dinner" on the menu. The deep fried chicken sausage appetizer was actually still cold on the inside. The rest of the food was ok, nothing special. I had the creamed cod. The "fado music" was a guy with a regular guitar (which is not a traditional fado instrument). He sang three songs in a half hour.

We just went in for a drink and to listen to Fado music. We chose the jug of Sangria tinto for 12€ and we stayed for more than one hour. We were very happy with the experience.

Had everything to be a great place, but its a huge disapoinment...
Let´s just say it is the first time i spend 60€ for a 3 people dinner in LISBON and leave the place hungry!!! We had to go to ANOTHER restaurant after this to finally have a proper dinner...
Its just a cool place to have ONE glass of wine while listening to the 2 minute "Fado" every half hour!
For uninformed tourists only...
