This place is so far from a Michelin star it would need to travel light years to reach one Dreadful food and even worse service. I would like to thank the owner for responding to my review in a positive manner. I am happy to help any business owner improve their operation. The food was not good, as my grandson was served the kids fish which we ordered. The fish was rotten, we were told it was Monk fish, 3 of us at the table tasted it and it was really rotten. So this was reason enough for me to give one star. The service was very poor, the young lady with short dark her and I think some body art spoke good English but was slow to serve us. She was obsessed with the computer or till screen behind our table, we were sat in front of the kitchen. It was just slow service. Then she disappeared, maybe it was a shift change. We ordered the tomahawk steak, it was okay, but not great. For 100 Euro I expected something special. Sorry Mr. Owner, but I stand by my review. I hope after you improve the 5 stars will make my one star disappear into the past. Good luck

Pretty good place, and creative dishes but not mind blowing, ppls standards are already low in the area so i see why many give it a 5star rating. Ambience and staff is deffo 5star

I called this dish ‘cute’ and they took it as a compliment. I think there were 3 kernels of corn in this ceviche. For the price point you can almost buy your own fishing trawler. Tasty, but not mind blowing.

Das Essen ist ohne Frage sehr gut! Die Portionen sind recht klein, dafür auch nicht teuer. Man schafft gut Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Dessert. Anderes hat noch Luft nach oben: Man soll am Desk warten, dass man plaziert wird, nur leider wird man dort von keinem Kellner gesehen oder nicht beachtet. Am Tisch bekommt man erstmal nicht die Speisekarte, sondern man wird gefragt, ob man Wasser möchte. Die Einrichtung ist nicht besonders gemütlich.

Хороший ресторан, Мишлен 2019, персонал работает на отлично, особенно понравился сомелье. Приятная обстановка, замечательное обслуживание. Но, блюда приготовлены средне, в морепродукты добавляют очень много пряностей и из-за этого вкус блюд теряется, порции маленькие.

허니스파이스포크스테이크 먹었는데 어디서 많이 먹어본맛이 나요 매운맛은 잘 안나지만 맛있었어요. 점원도 친절했고 현지인도 많더라구요. 축구경기 틀어놔서 바에서 즐겨도 좋을것 같았어요.

BEST dinner, BEST service, Obrigado! I was hesitant because this place is a few blocks away from the main downtown plaza, but no regrets whatsoever! Anabela was our server and she took such excellent care of our group. Obrigada! We were a group of 4 for dinner and ate and drank everything we wanted on the menu for less than 200 EUR. Highly recommend the salt-baked fish, scallops, lime cilantro rice, asparagus sides - and do NOT forget dessert. Yoghurt & Pavlova dish was a delectable standout. Beautiful space, attention to detail, excellent service, good location... I'm tempted to go back and stay in the attached hotel based on the lovely lobby and the chance to try Avenida for brunch!

Diese Bewertung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf das Restaurant, nicht auf das tolle Hotel (wo das Frühstück unglaublich gut ist)! Im Restaurant haben wir einen Abend gegessen, das Personal ist sehr bemüht und freundlich aber leider total unkoordiniert, wir hatten bestimmt 6 verschiedene Kellner von denen der eine nicht wusste, was der andere tat. Unser bestellter Wein kam zweimal falsch. Die Vorspeisen waren ok, vor allem Gemüse und Salate waren sehr lecker und frisch, das Sirloin-Steak war ziemlich enttäuschend, zum großen Teil ungenießbar (viel Fettrand und sehnige Anteile). Insgesamt möchte das Restaurant mehr sein als es bisher leider ist. Auf jeden Fall ausbaufähig!

Accueil et service de qualité, personnels aux petits soins, grande qualité des plats et des boissons, sans parler de la décoration et de l’atmosphère positive de ce lieu. Allez-y les yeux fermés ! Most amazing chef, presentation and service. Food is made with love and passion. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Staff is very attentitive. Have multiple food allergies which was taken very serious here. Also very accommodating. Must go for dinner.

Nette Atmosphäre, freundliches Personal, sauber, ruhig. Frühstück ok, jeden Tag das Zimmer gereinigt, zentral gelegen, zu Fuss in alle Richtungen zu den Stränden gehen ist optimal.

Das perfekt auf den medium rare Punkt gegrillte Tomahawk steak und der ganze Abend mit Aperitif, Wein Empfehlung und Nachtisch war einfach nur perfekt und sehr empfehlenswert. Das Fleisch wurde nach und nach aufgeschnitten auf einen Holzbrett serviert, genauso wie wir es lieben. Toller Service. Das Restaurant ist nicht günstig aber für uns jeden Cent wert. Eine absolute Empfehlung auch über die Grenzen von Portugal hinaus.

This restaurant deserves 2 Michelin stars!!! They already have one but it is not enough for the quality of food, the service and the whole experience. My review is based on our 7 days stay at Lagos Avenida hotel which included breakfast and we also had 4 dinners there. The breakfast is exceptional! My husband was sticking to cooked breakfast and he was over the moon. The buffet was my domain and I loved everything available there - a good cheese selection, fruits, bakery and even bubbly :) ! Our dinner meals were out of this world - modern fine dining, excellent presentation and mega delicious. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The sommelier impressed us with his knowledge of wines and flavours. They've got 700 kinds of wine there! I can share only a few photos but for us, this restaurant really deserves another Michelin star to be added to their first one. Waren während unseres Aufenthaltes in Lagos mehrmals im Avenida zu Gast. Geniales Essen, exzellente Weine, tolles Ambiente und ein super Team in Service und Küche. Von einem Platz am Tresen der offenen Küche kann man dem Chef und seinem Team beim Kochen auf Sterne-Niveau auf die Finger schauen. Für uns das mit Abstand beste Restaurant in Lagos. Wir kommen wieder!

Very nice experience. Excellent food. Modern interpretation. Served like a painting. Good wine selection. Also in the glass. We had a very good dutch speaking waiter.

€22 is the charge for a non staying guest to have breakfast but well worth the cost as a end of holiday treat or for that matteranytime. The chilled champagne helps eat into the cost, choice of brutal or rose. I'm a old hand at going out for breakfast so don't waste time on the buffet. Today I had freshly squeezed orange juice, champagne, eggs Benedict and butter milk pancakes with fruit, made by the chef. Both plates devine. Rich Benedict and fluffy warm pancakes, but could have been better accompanied by a syrup. Enjoyed over a leisurely 90 minutes, staff okay, should have been more attentive and cleared tables but fabulous food and a special way to end a holiday.

Fijn restaurant als je culinair op niveau wilt eten in Lagos. Vriendelijk en attent personeel die je met veel aandacht informatie over de gerechten geven. Wij hadden ieder een voorgerecht en een hoofdgerecht en waren voldaan.

Excellent !! Une très bonne adresse à découvrir. De très bons plats réalisés avec des produits de qualité et de fraîcheur, le tout dans un très beau cadre et un ambiance calme et moderne. Le service est très chaleureux et avenant. La carte des vins saura vous séduire. Les spécialités de viandes mâturées sauront ravir les amateurs de boeuf.

Ein spontaner Besuch im Avenida nach ausführlichem Strandspaziergang am frühen Nachmittag war das beeindruckende Erlebnis des Tages. Noch lange erinnere ich den genialen Geschmack des Hirschbratens und vor allem des Ziegenkäse-Eis! Das war nicht das letzte mal im Avenida!

Awesome restaurant. You get to experience a Michelin star quality food at a reasonable price. Try their lamb shank and sirloin steak. Both are fantastic.

We had an eight course meal that was outstanding! The chef could be in any of the top restaurants in the world. Must go if ever in Lagos!

Very good food but unfortunately let down by extremely slow service. 4 hours for 7 courses - staff did not seem to think this was out of the ordinary. Will leave the reader to judge.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Great staff. We loved the: oysters; tartare; ceviche; lamb shank; and scallops Relative to the other places we've ate in Portugal, this place deserves a Michelin star or two.

Worth a detour. Heck, I would look for a cheap plane ticket just to dine at Avenida Restaurante. You won't be disappointed. Spice up your trip some more and combine it with a night at the hotel. If you do so, be sure to include breakfast. Great quality of service and food, great prices... the list goes on. What are you waiting for?

Repas excellent, mes félicitations aux chefs ! Toutefois, quelques remarques suite à cette 1ère visite : - il nous a été reproché d’être arrivé en avance de 15min par rapport à notre reservation... pas super comme accueil non ? - nous avons beaucoup apprécié le beurre parfumé pour débuter le repas mais beaucoup moins son stockage a l’air libre dans la salle de restauration depuis plus d’une heure... cf. la photo du charriot ci dessous. Pour ce type d’aliments, une vitrine ne serait quand même pas plus hygiénique ? - lorsque l’on est enceinte, cela semble avoir beaucoup perturbé une de nos serveurs. Si un restaurant de ce standing ne s’est pas traiter avec délicatesse et attention ce genre de situation, c’est fort dommage... - enfin, une petite déception sur le dessert qui ressemblait beaucoup au pré dessert dans le menu à 6 plats... c’était très bon mais répétitif... un manque de surprise en fin de repas dommage encore

Dieses Restaurant ist eine Reise wert. Passenderweise gibt es das Hotel direkt mit dazu. Das Tasting Menu mit seinen 6 Gängen hat uns absolut begeistert. Die Qualität der Zutaten und die Anrichtung waren auf sehr hohem Niveau! Die Fotos sprechen eigentlich für sich. Dazu kam ein sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service, so dass es einfach ein grandioser Abend war.

La verdad que estabamos viendo donde comer y acabe ahi de casualidad sin saber donde me metia. Me parecio un restaurante que jamas esperaria en Lagos. Increible lugar. Una carta de vinos amplisima con vinos de muchas partes del mundo. Los entrantes increible en cuanto a presentacion (impactante) y muy sensuales en cuanto a fusion de sabores. En cuanto al plato principal, pedimos un Tomahawk, totalmente recomendable. Trata excepcional. VOLVEREMOS

We had a wonderful experience at Avenida restaurant: Great location and excellent service, exciting food and wine pairing (but also the non alcoholic cocktail my girlfriend ordered was spot on), even the cutlery was beautiful. One of the best dining experiences I've had. Go for the tasting menu, you won't be disappointed.

We are used to high quality restaurants and everything was perfect at Avenida restaurant. It’s really a good choice if you want to experience fine dining in Lagos. The food is high quality and every meal is beautiful and tasty! The service is also high end. The prices are very good for this quality of restaurant ( even the drinks to compare with other similar places, and they don’t even charge you for the couvert !) Thanks for this beautiful moment.

Avenida Restaurante was incredible! We sat at the chefs table and enjoyed the best meal we’ve had in Portugal. The food and wine was delicious and the service was delightful. We live in New York City and Avenida has such a creative approach/presentation to each dish and some of the most savory flavors we’ve ever enjoyed. Sous-Chef Agnes really made our night special and we will definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I had really hoped to get good food and service, but it was a big disappointment even before we got the food... I have dinned at many good restaurants around the world including many Michelin star restaurants and this had nothing to do with fine dining or great food! The service was terrible and the food tasteless and overpriced. Will never come back and will not recommend any of my friends or family to try the restaurant.

There is few good restaurants nevermind top tier (fine dining) restaurants in Lagos but this restaurant is outstanding. We were seated at the chefs table which is a bar directly seated in front of the kitchen. You watch the chefs cook and can talk to them. I had a brief chat with one of the chefs and herself along with another chef both worked in Gordon Ramsey restaurant in London so this shows you the caliber of chef cooking here. We had the beef tartar and prawns for starter. Both excellent but tarter was something extra special. Mains - Lamb shank and octopus. Both dishes delicious and very well presented. The octopus had a more local touch to it. Dessert - Cheese cake and Dark chocolate dessert. Both outstanding and unique but for me the cheesecake had the edge. Not your typical cheesecake... Drinks - Extensive wine list and have no doubt would be good but we went for cocktails this evening. Honeymoon and prohibition punch (both mocktails). The honeymoon was truly refreshing and unique. I had a whisky based cocktail called Honeymoon. Well Balanced drink. Service outstanding as well as the ambiance. The price is very reasonable for this level of sevice and quality of food. I have paid much higher in other parts of the world. Highly recommend if your in Lagos.

The food was absolutely wonderful and the staff was very friendly and kind. The inside of the restaurant was also very pleasant looking and pretty. Great place!

Clumsily pretentious. Lagos is full of restaurants, with the majority serving simple but tasty local dishes. This restaurant tries to do something different and a little more upmarket. Sadly, it seems to be staffed by people who have never worked in the kind of restaurant that they're aspiring to be. The menu is more of a list of ingredients that may or may not appear in the dish, than an actual description, portion sizes vary dramatically, staff don't know about the food they're serving (whilst fully appreciating that I don't speak Portuguese so some of this could be a language issue) and managers are patronising. They try to be innovative with their serving but this doesn't always work: setting fire to hay to accompany some dishes would work better if there wasn't such a long walk from the kitchen and the trays are carried above the eye height of the guests, which means that serving staff emerge from the kitchen in a bewildering cloud of eyewatering smoke that is a redundant glowing pile of ashes by the time the food reaches the guests. Only half of the steak is served, with the rest being taken away and only returned to the customer cold once they have finished all the accompaniments. We were so fed up with the pretentious charade by the end of the main course that we didn't bother staying for dessert. There are better options around Lagos if you want a classy dinner

Stayed 3 nights in the hotel. The rooms are nice and the food is quite good overall. The restaurant's starters and mains are on par with the bib gourmand, but the desserts just aren't. Quite ok dessert (tested 2 out of 4), but not anywhere near you'd expect from a bib gourmand kitchen. The service isn't that great neither. On our last morning I had to wait 12 minutes longer my eggs benedict than my wife, and got it on a bread plate... This just isn't acceptable on a restaurant nor a hotel this expensive.

After more than a week of enjoying the more authentic Portugese cuisine and some touristy restaurants, it was time for some fine dining and Avenida did not disappoint. This Bib Gourmand rated restaurant performed as one should expect. Especially the attention we received from multiple staff members was appreciated. The menu is not too large and offers a good variety of dishes to choose from for whatever your appetite may be at the time. Large selection of wines. The food was good, but some of the flavors of the dishes we chose lacked the kind of subtlety that would be necessary to take this place to the next level.

Vielen Dank Avenida Restaurante für einen tollen Abend. Tolles Ambiente, freundlicher Service und eine umwerfend gute Küche. Die Weinkarte ist auch beeindruckend mit Weinen aus aller Welt zu vernünftigen Preisen. Die offene Küche ist ein Highlight und wirklich wunderschön. Preis- Leistung stimmt und der Bistro Gedanke gefällt mit gut und man kann einfach nur eine Kleinigkeit bei einem guten Wein geniessen. Bei grossem Hunger ist das Hähnchen oder Steak prima und sogar Schlemmer kommen auf ihre Kosten, denn es gibt ein 6 Gang Menu. Mir gefällt besonders der Tresen an der Küche, da kann man sich auch als Frau alleine hinstetzen und was ordentliches Essen, dabei hat man eine tolle Unterhaltung mit den Köchen in Aktion.

Restaurante/ Bistro with great ambience, outstanding food and impressive wine list. Great for any occasion, either a quick lunch or nice dinner. Difficult to name a favourite dish, but duck is certainly one of my favourites! Lovely open kitchen and a great experience to watch Roeland Klein and his team in action.

Acabo de chegar a Lagos vindo da BTL e deparei-me com a abertura ao público do restaurante. Recepção fenomenal, ambiente e decoração muito acolhedora. Falta um pouco de música ambiente. Comida muito boa e a um preço que não assusta para o tipo de cozinha que é praticada. Melhor, sentar e comer ao balcão enquanto se vê toda a preparação dos alimentos por uma equipa muito jovem e organizada. Parabéns!
