Stayed locally and found this hidden gem on Google maps. My family (partner and two kids) went here and although the menu was limited it was delicious. It was lovely and quiet but we are told the venue needs to be booked a week, sometimes two during the peak summer season. Our fussy kids wouldn't have anything on the menu but the kind hosts came out with breads and little dessert treats for no extra cost. They tried their best! Myself and my partner had the veal and it was absolutely devine. For such a lovely quaint premises in a little side road hidden off the main road it is a little treasure which is definitely worth a visit. We would definitely go back again.

Très belle découverte pour notre part nous avons pris le steak dans le filet c etait juste excellent sans compter les accompagnements et le délicieux dessert offert par la maison .

O restaurante possui um ambiente intimista, como se tratasse de um bar de Jazz ou cantina italiana. A comida tem uma proposta de educar sobre os sabores do mundo e faz isso da melhor forma possível, sendo excelente!

What a find! Amazing flavor, relaxing atmosphere complete with soft jazz music for a totally wonderful evening experience. We almost didn't go in as appeared it was closed, but so glad we did. I had the boar in red wine sauce and my wife had corvina fish with mussels & huge prawns. Both were out of this world good! Not only was it delicious but presentation and portion size were both excellent. Highly recommend!

The food was the best I have tasted in Portugal. The quality and finesse were extraordinary and the service great. It was more expensive than other restaurants but worth every penny.

We went there for my mum’s birthday dinner and to be honest first she was disappointed the choice was not that big, BUT then... oh my god! Everything we had was simply delicious! Perfect seasoning and the meat was just melting in our mouths... service was so welcominng it just made us feel like at home. I really do recommend to everybody to visit that restaurant! You surely will enjoy it! I do wish there will be more places like this!

Went here for a group meal last night 13 of us, had a fantastic dinner most of our party had different main courses,each one was cooked to perfection no complaints from anyone. Yum yum

Très bon restaurant, pas évident à trouver (pas de pub, pas de panneau)
Mais une fois la porte franchie, du pur bonheur: ambiance feutrée très chaleureuse, un accueil par le patron comme jamais connu en France et la carte de premier choix (poissons pour nous). Incontournable quand on a connu.... Nous y retournerons avant la fin de notre séjour.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten, fijne sfeer, vriendelijke mensen. Op verzoek iets vegetatisch besteld (stond nl niet op de kaart) was geen enkel probleem. Eigenaar kwam vragen of ik van curry hield. Heeft daarna overheerlijke curryschotel uitgeserveerd.
We hadden van te voren gereserveerd, want toen we op zondagavond op de bonnefooi er naartoe reden, was er geen plek. Later in de week teruggegaan.

Effectivement aucune indication, le soir aucun éclairage alentour, mais à l'intérieur une ambiance tamisée, une décoration sympas, et des plats savoureux ! Une excellente surprise.

Un petit restaurant au milieu de nul part. L'ambiance est magique, la déco romantique et intimiste. Le service est incroyable, le propriétaire du restaurant nous a très bien accueilli et servi. La nourriture était très bonne, l'assiette très bien présentée. On a eu un dessert en cadeau. Un vrai restaurant portugais où l'on ressent la générosité, l'amour des bons plats. Allez y les yeux fermés !

Visited with the family for one of our last days in the area. One of the best meals I have ever eaten anywhere. I was stunned by the quality of service and the food, well worth the short drive out of Vilamoura.
They had relaxing jazz music playing in the background and the service was prompt and professional. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

This place is a gastronomical oasis.
Go in, relax and enjoy yourself.
Staff is as welcoming and informal as the restaurant itself.
Old Portuguese Empire inspired cuisine is well prepared and presented and served in generous portions.
Hedonism and self indulgence are a must here!
Not the cheapest but nevertheless excellent value.
Go early or book a table otherwise there's a strong possibility of having to go somewhere else.

The food was excellent! Every single dish made was amazingly flavourful. The owner grows his own fruits and vegetables in his backyard. The owner is extremely nice and humble. The setting is very quaint and welcoming. Highly recommend the house salad, steak, and tiramisu. If your visiting the area highly recommend this restaurant.

Adorei tudo. Fomos a 23 de novembro, o restaurante tinha pouco movimento o que foi perfeito para um jantar romântico. O restaurante tem um ambiente maravilhoso, musica jazz e luz das velas. A comida era ótima (camarão na abóbora e vitela com frutos secos) e no final ofereceram a sobremesa.
Recomendo muito.

Wonderful experience - Indian, Brazilian, Angolan dishes, so different favours and tastes. Sweets were simple (fruit salad, ice cream, vanilla cake), but surprising. Simple and refined, as the owner. Well deserved trip for a great dinner.

Restaurant difficile à trouver, mais la recherche est payante avec un patron très chaleureux et une cuisine au top, notamment le fameux Cataplana. Merci pour ce bon moment.

I used to go to this restaurant often, it has a quirky menu, the choice of starters is take it or leave it, the main course has a choice of 3 or 4 dishes and the deserts are free. However I stopped using the restaurant when I found that the owner keeps all the tips and tells the staff that the tips pay for the deserts. This is no way to treat your staff and I refuse to give you my business.

This is a lovely intimate restaurant, food is excellent and the hosts very friendly. We've been coming to this area for the last seven years and would never miss out on a visit to the Oliveira - the Black Pork is delicious

Le lieu est improbable... Presque au milieu de rien, vous trouvez ce restaurant presque par hasard! Le chef est sympa, tout comme son équipe agréable et serviable. La carte est variés avec une dizaine de plats différents qui vous feront facilement voyagé d'un continent à un autre... Et niveau tarif, le rapport qualité/prix est imbattable à comparer avec la plupart des restaurants à touristes dont les plats sont souvent de moins bonne qualité!!! Je vous le recommande les yeux fermés.

Es un lugar con mucho encanto (cozy place ) , tiene muchas luces y mucho colorido, ;muy tranquilo y buena música. La cocina es espectacular, el cocinero es superagradable y su esposa también. Lo recomiendo 100%. Me encantó la ternera (elaborada con canela) , todo está exquisito ahí. No se lo pierdan.

Aunque los camareros son educados el servicio es pésimo. Demasiado tiempo de espera sin nada que comer ni beber en la mesa aun siendo que el restaurante no estaba muy lleno. La comida está bastante bien, la calidad es buena y las raciones generosas. El precio es adecuado para la calidad pero ni mucho menos para el servicio. (Restaurante típico de guiris)

Pretencioso, un restaurante con aires mayores, bien atendido, pero muy lento; bien decorado, pero sólo porque era de noche; casa ántigua, pero mal mantenida; comida muy buena, pero una carta muy pobre y encima de todo esto ....... excesivamente caro

Fantastic restaurant, great food, superb service. Off the beaten track but so much more relaxed than the marina while still having a lovely atmosphere. Worth booking ahead.

Fab place. Don't really want to tell anyone about this in case they change something. The team are so nice and the food is excellent. Tiger prawns were massive. Sea bass cooked perfectly and the surprise at the end was delicious.

Food is fantastic! Perfect if you like homemade. Agreed that the menu is not very extensive but doesn't matter. I'd choose all of the meals if I could. Not one for fussy eaters or vegetarians. Staff/cook are good people, very friendly and gave us complimentary deserts.
Lovely little setting in the peaceful Portuguese countryside.

We had an amazing dinner served by José and his wife. It's a cozy place, nice decorated, a bit hidden off the main road but that makes it even better if you found it (by accident). Totally recommendable in this area!

The setting, the converted front room and enclosed patio of the owners converted home. Both beautifully decorated with ornaments and wall paintings that scream Portugal, the latter enclosed in a wonderful garden. The staff, friendly to a fault, I was driving and they kept trying to give me port (for free) and order me a taxi! The food wouldn't be out of place in a Mayfair restaurant, immaculate presentation, fantastic delicate flavours and impressive service. The wine selection is top notch too! The perfect place for a romantic evening.

Great food but scattered and amateurish service: the staff seemed to spent most of their time tending to the tables inside, to the detriment of those of us sat outside. We waited 15 minutes to be served bread, a further 15 for our wine, then our mains were confused with the table next to us.

Tolles Ambiente, außergewöhnliche Küche, wöchentlich wechselnde Gerichte zusätzlich zur normalen Speisekarte. Das Restaurant wird vom sehr freundlichen Besitzerpaar selbst bewirtschaftet und ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet und dekoriert worden. Das Essen kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Bestellt man die Vorspeise des Hauses, ist automatisch ein Nachtisch im Preis enthalten, der nach dem Essen von der Köchin persönlich, individuell auf das Hauptgericht abgestimmt, am Tisch serviert wird. Während der Hauptsaison sollte man auf jeden Fall einen Tisch reservieren.

What a hidden Jem this place is. The food is absolutely amazing, limited menu but there is a good selection to be had. Well worth a visit and under priced for how good the food is!

such a great experience - appetizers and desserts are chef inspired - no need to choose - had the veal which was fabulous! highly recommend!!!
