I came here from the beginning of Feb 2020. I opted for the evening classes which were really good because you can guarantee there will be people there, and it's also good for socialising too. The process was very smooth and you are provided with study material to complete the course at no extra cost. Ana Rita went through the process with me and I found her very helpful. I want to send a big shout out to my teacher (Indira), who was absolutely great! She's such a good teacher and I would say you'll be lucky if you can get in her class. I only done 1 month but to be honest I have learn't a lot. I will miss my class to be fair as everybody was great within it.

I took two weeks intensive course at this school on the beggining of December. It was my first time studying portuguese and I hadn't any knolwdge of the language itself. I liked it pretty much the classes held because we were just few student, not more than five, and had the chance to keep an appropriate pace and to get the topics clear with no doubts left behind. Knowing spanish, I thought it was actually easy to learn it but I soon realized it ain't so. At the end of the course I was quite satisfied with the knowledge I adquired, at least I could understand something while peolple were speaking, wich is not implied, and getting understood for as much I could speak the language. Thanks to the school and teachers.

No puedo decir que no aprendí nada, pero menos de lo que habría podido. Hice un curso intensivo de 2 semanas pasadas casi todas en el grupo A2 dónde los otros colegas ya llevaban más tiempo y empezé la gramática desde un punto que me dejó varias lagunas y más tarde empezó otra chica con muchas dificultades del idioma no teniendo ayuda de la lengua materna (japonés). Esto hizo que el grupo ralentizase. Las últimas dos clases me propusieron darlas con el grupo B1 dónde la gramática ya no sabía ni por dónde cogerla teniendo lagunas del grupo anterior y siendo este nivel más avanzado y con el programa demasiado adelante. En fin, cada vez que empieza un módulo de intensivo no empiezan las clases desde 0, sino que siguen el programa ya dado con los alumnos que están ahí desde hace más tiempo.

Las clases se amoldan a tu tipo de vida, es decir, hay flexibilidad de horarios. Además, hay flexibilidad en los niveles; esto es, conforme vayas avanzando puedes cambiar de nivel hasta encontrar el tuyo. Yo, personalmente, empecé desde cero y he ido teniendo clases acordes a mi progreso. En eso estoy muy agradecida a la escuela, ya que para un hispanoparlante puede ser más rápido el avance que para otros. Asimismo, la dinámica de trabajo es rigurosa a la par que informal, haciendo las clases amenas. Muy recomendable (:

I've studied with Português Et Cetera on two different occasions. Since I studied there the first time, they've since moved to a much busier location, smack dab in the heart of Lisbon. While this seems appealing on paper, in reality the location is not ideal since the street is very noisy and filled with buskers. During class, the noise outside would often be very loud and distracting, especially when the windows had to be opened. More importantly, throughout both "courses", there was no curriculum to be followed. Although the teachers were nice and helpful (hence the two stars), there was clearly no organization to the course. We basically just followed a grammar book page by page, with no other activities to stimulate and improve our learning. While conversation formed a part of the lesson, this conversation was unstructured and completely random. Furthermore, the last course I attended suffered from exceptional inconsistency. The duration of the course was only eight lessons, and yet each of the first five classes had a different student joining. Consequently, important time was wasted each class on introductions. On the fifth class, our teacher changed without sufficient notice, then in the next class our original teacher returned. Needless to say, every time I attended the school I had no idea who would or wouldn't be in the class. As an intermediate speaker, I expect some structure and plan for development in a course. There need to be clear objectives and functional activities, not simply grammar exercises and random conversation. A language teacher myself, I know how important it is to structure a course and provide students with stimulating and purposeful activities. Unfortunately, Português Et Cetera does not do this.

Excellent organisation from Ana-Rita, superb teaching from Joana. I recommend their intensive language classes highly. We made some great friends and had a wonderful experience. And our language improved markedly.

I had a great time at Português at cetera. In two weeks I learned all the necessary basics to move around in Portugal! The lessons move quick, but that way you learn the most. I would definitely recommend the school and I hope to revisit it myself:) Greets, Paolo

I was taking online course at Português et Cetera and I would recommend it to anyone willing to learn Portuguese. The teacher was very nice, knowledgeable and collaborative and it was easy to schedule classes. Most important, I have also improved my grammar knowledge and vocabulary :)

The staff is very welcoming, As a beginner in the Portuguese language, I appreciated the progress of the courses which allowed me to acquire the fundamental bases of the language.

Tuve la suerte de dar por casualidad en internet con esta escuela de Portugués y fue una experiencia estupenda. Hice un curso intensivo de dos semanas en Agosto del 2019 y me encantó la cercanía de trato y la profesionalidad del personal. Mi profesora, Alice (una gran dama de la lengua portuguesa) y mis compañeros, un grupo de solo 5 personas, me hicieron pasar muy buenos ratos mientras aprendíamos el portugués. Mencionar también las visitas turísticas y eventos organizados por la escuela fuera del horario de clases y la ubicación tan céntrica de la escuela. Felicidades!

Didn't work for me, no curriculum to follow and the prof gave us homework but didn't follow up or go over the exercises, so no help. Very depressing experience.

Great teachers, well structured courses, a beautiful location and a family-like atmosphere. I can only recommend the school to anyone that wants to learn Portuguese and dive into the culture of this wonderful country!

Yo he estudiado en esta escuela durante todo el año lectivo. Hice un curso desde agosto de 2016 hasta junio de 2017. Los cursos son flexibles porque los puedes hacer por módulos, y puedes comenzar cuando quieras y terminar cuando quieras. Los profesores y profesoras son simpáticas, amigables e interesados en lo que hacen. Te mantienen informado de las cosas y te ayudan en todo momento. La escuela está justo en el centro de Lisboa, en una calle bastante estratégica del centro por donde pasa mucha gente. Es un sitio bonito, y la escuela está recientemente renovada. También hacen excursiones y actividades extraescolares. Son cosas de interés de Lisboa y la zona, siempre relativo al aprendizaje y la cultura sobre el sitio. Ambiente agradable, profes majos, buenos horarios y esquemas flexibles. Yo estuve muy a gusto y disfruté mucho estudiando allí, además que también hice amistades. Volvería sin duda.

I studied at the institute parallel to my studies at my university in Lisbon and it was a great opportunity for me to learn some Portuguese while doing an exchange study there. They were very flexible with the time so that I could attend all my classes. I had Daniel Corvo as my teacher and he was a great person with a lot of experience in teaching languages. On top of that the classes were fun and made the learning process much easier and faster. All in all it was a very good experience for me.

I am glad that I chose this language school. The teachers are very patient and helpful. And everyone is very welcoming and friendly. I have taken conversation lessons for some time and my spoken Portuguese did imrove a lot. Also, they almost arrange free tours and dinners showing students around Lisbon. In this way we get to know more about local culture. A very good school.

I had a 4 weeks intensive course with the school and eventually was able to have conversations with the local people. The location of the school is excellent, the classrooms are right at the central, the teachers are very nice and the rearrangements from the school were fabulous as well. I have been to other Portuguese courses from other schools as well but the experience with this school is understanding.

I decided to take a Portuguese course because I would have pass four months in Portugal. Portugues et Cetera gave me the opportunuty to learn Portuguese with experienced and enjoyable teachers. The lesson were never boaring. Moreover with Portuguese et Cetera I visited the city and I discovered many things about the Portuguese culture and traditions. I hope to come back soon!

Very good school! The atmosphere in the class was perfect, the teacher was really nice and willing to explain me something for a lot of times when I didn't understand. I enrolled in an extensive program and I feel like I learned a lot of Portuguese! Now I can finally talk to everyone and not being shy! Thank you so much!

Português et Cetera is the best school where to learn Portuguese in Lisbon! I loved the friendly atmosphere and the enjoyable people and I think that here you can learn as much as you want also having fun with the other students. The School Events and Tours are a big plus! Thank do them I had the possibility to discover something more about Lisbon I didn't know before. I will surely continue to learn Portuguese!

I really liked the school. The teachers are really good and there is a very welcoming and warm athmosphere. I had privat lessons because there was nobody I could find on my language level. Still it was cheap and I enjoyed the lessons. I would highly recommend that school. Check it out !!!!

The course was very good, price was perfect for short-term language courses in Lisbon. The school was very good and one of the most beautiful part of the experience that I have done here in Lisbon. I found the building easily once in Lisbon as it is near by the city center Praca do Comercio. The teacher was very very good, a Ines, and the administrative staff very kind, Benedetta in particular. I loved the fact that the school understands that young guys aim at learning this beautiful language but cannot book in advance courses. I could do just one week even if I booked two and I payd once at the school. I think this is very comfortable and important. I strongly reccomend you to experience portuguese EtCetera.

Amazing school! The staff is really kind and teachers are friendly and care a lot about students. Either the intensive or the extensive courses are done really well. The school easily helps you decide how to arrange your learning, according to your personal needs. Besides, there's a lot of committment by the school when it comes to organizing weekly tours about Portugues event and Culture. Friendly and motivating environment at the school, with people coming from all over the world, prices ok as well. Great experience, strongly recommended!

It is so nice to follow the lessons, especially because there is no pressure, you work at the level which suits you the best, therefore learning is more fun, the teachers are very patient and if you want, you can also learn a lot about Lisboa :) when you join the (free) outdoor classes with the school. 2016

I joined the conversation club at Portugues Et Cetra last summer. After searching for a school that I felt would be best suited for my ability as well as my personality I decided to choose Portugues Et Cetra, because not only did they focus on making sure that their students go the most out of their lessons, they made sure that the students also go to experience as much of the portuguese culture as possible and for me that was highly important as as I wanted to be able to speak with locals about their city and things that mattered to them.

Great school , teachers are very friendly and flexible to adjust the course to the need of the students . I moved to Lisbon some months ago and thanks to this school , I m now able to manage Portuguese conversation . Good Job :)

The school location is perfect, in the city center; language lessons are given at all levels and hours of the day, from morning to evening. Teachers and staff are experienced, helpful and friendly. The school organises free extra-activities through which historical, artistic and cultural aspects of Lisbon can be discoverd having fun and learning a lot. Much more than a simple language school!

This fantastic School is located in Lisbon City Center and is very easy to find. First I learned in an intensive course and later in a group class with only 4-5 students. My teacher Fernanda was very understanding, super flexible and has teached me much, much more than just the language - really portguese etcetera!

The school gave me the opportunity to learn Portuguese at C1 level while enjoying Lisbon and the Portuguese culture. I started at a B1 level and in only two months - of hard work - I reached my goal! The teachers Cláudia and Dora are really professional and their lessons were incredible fun! The school director Fernanda and the administrative head Paulo are truly welcoming and helpful, trying to satisfy all your needs! I would go back to Lisbon to pass another time at the school and I will never forget the incredible experience I had last months!
