Beautiful old olive press building near Sao Bras, high-ceilinged and large brick archways. Good selection of meat, fish and veg dishes and yummy desserts. Friendly service run by Austrian manager. Various ceramics and artefacts filling the nooks and crannies round the walls add to the atmosphere of this delightful restaurant

It is hard to find serious fault with the food, service and ambience at Lagar da Mesquita.
Four of us have just had a really superb lunch there, certainly not the cheapest place to have lunch but it is certainly worth the money.
Well worth a visit !

Nice ambience, but some of the food is very expensive. 15 euros for a 3 prawn starter is crazy. The main meals were OK, desserts were limited in choice.

Fantástico ambiente ,excelente decoração,rústico/chique,menu comida portuguesa com twist europeu e boa carta de vinhos.Gostei particularmente do serviço muito acima do que seria de esperar.Soberba experiência mesmo considerando os preços um pouco elevados.

First visit here and food was good. However service could be improved by informing what is actually on the plate. Fond of puree vegetable here so left guessing. Prawn starter seems expensive at 15 euro. Pear and blue cheese starter only served with shredded lettuce which is described as salad. Really?? The drink proffered upon arrival with no mention of cost is not good either but the white port and tonic is refreshing on warm night and worth the 4.5 euro.

An amazing place that feels like home and where the food is absolutely delicious. It's part of our holiday ritual to go to Lagar da Mesquita, we've been going for 5 years in a row and we enjoy it so much every time. It's absolutely fabulous for kids, has a space for them to play with books, toys and crayons and everyone is amazing with kids. O couldn't recommend it more!

We are always so happy to eat here, and even happier when we leave. After all these years we still leave the restaurant with a very satisfied feeling.
The road towards the restaurant, the small village where the restaurant is, the warm welcome, the good service, the lovely food. It all makes it a perfect restaurant!
Even for little children a perfect place to go to. Our children are 11 months and 2,5 years and they can really enjoy therselves with a kids corner and there is space enough. And the restaurant allows the sometimes bit noise children.

We had a wonderful experience on our first visit, they accomodated our large group as a walk-in and have one of the most welcome experiences I have had in a restaurant for a long time.
The setting of the restaurant, the service, food and drink were all excellent, before we had even finished, we had all agreed to book for another meal the night before we left Portugal.
Every meal I ate or tasted from a friend was excellent, carefully considered and presented, and the service particularly from the main waiter was fantastic, fun and attentive.
Very highly recommended.

Le restaurant est dans la campagne. La salle du restaurant est très belle. On a été très bien reçus et c'était très bon. A faire si on veut changer des restaurant de bord de mer. À la haute saison, il vaut mieux réserver, il n'y a pas beaucoup de tables. C'était vraiment un très bon.

Best restaurant in algarve till now.
From the recommendation for the apperitive, through the carpaccio as a starter over a phenomenal main course till the apple tart! Everything is perfect especially the staff and the environment!

This nice restaurant - located in an old Oilmill - is an insidertip. The meals are based on complete 'ideas' and very delicious and are absolutely fresh made. In my opinion cookinginspirations for example from Portugeese, Marrocain, Africa, Italian will surprise you with perfect taste. A MUST VISIT if you are around.

Restaurante ubicado en un curioso rincón cercana a Sao Bras de Alportel. Antiguo Lagar de Aceite rehabilitado y reconvertido en un bonito restaurante.
El filete de atún, y el pato estaban muy buenos
