Squash Restaurant is a must visit when dining in Portimão. This family owned restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. You feel as though you are family the moment you walk through the door and smell the fresh aromatics of a fine dining restaurant. From ocean to plate, the seafood is the star of this restaurant. From freshly shucked oysters to sweet king prawns, you can really do no wrong when ordering here. There is a selection of steaks for those who aren’t into seafood but you would have to be a little mad not to dabble in the seafood. We have been here in the area for a week and our only regret is not finding this place sooner. Also, say hi to Francesco for us when you go, from his Portuguese and Italian Canadian gals.

Lovely service, great good. Hubbie had the Portuguese steak, quality of the meat was really good and cooked to perfection. I had sea bass, chosen from the fresh seafood platter that they show at the table. Really fresh and lovely fish. The little one chose the spaghetti Bolognese, that was also very tasty, we kept stealing good from her plate :)

Excellent service and fresh seafood in an unexpected setting. Don't let the weird location stop you from coming here; walk down the odd steps down to a quiet alcove a few blocks off of the beach. I stopped in late on my last night in Portimão and they were able to sit my girlfriend and I at a nice table outside. We were shown the available fresh fish on a platter, and even tried barnicles for the first time. The staff took their time to explain how to eat them and we had a wonderful time.

Dit is werkelijk een fantastisch restaurant. We zijn hier tweemaal in een week geweest, en dat zegt wel iets. De ambiance is uitermate aangenaam, de bediening is heel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam , maar bovenal is het eten echt super. Voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht, nagerecht, alles is heerlijk en met verse ingrediënten gemaakt. En dat heerlijke glaasje port dat aan het einde wordt aangeboden maakt het helemaal af. Een aanrader!!

This place deserves 6 stars. We came back because the service and the food were excellent. A true gem hidden in the middle of Portimao. One of the waiters spoke even Dutch which was very sweet of him since we're from the Netherlands ;) we will definitely spread the word around to our friends and family not to skip this place. Very attentive service with a very personal touch.

Un vrai restaurant. Le cadre, la cuisine ouverte sur une équipe appliquée. Un couple adorable qui vous reçoit très gentiment et vous offre le porto à la fin du repas...en laissant la bouteille sur la table.
Pas de ces établissements sans âme, mieux placés, en première ligne, qui apportent la carte de desserts glacés industriels. Nous y sommes allés quatre fois, en prenant des plats différents, tout était excellent, y compris la morue critiquée dans un avis. (Dans un poisson, on peut trouver des arêtes ...)
Merci à eux... Les gourmets feront la différence.

Absolutely brilliant! Went with my girlfriend and was instantly impressed by the welcoming staff and decor. Food was some of the best I've ever had and the steak on stone was mouth watering. Fair priced too. 11/10

Very nice place, cosy, quiet. Apperitives are on a good price. Meals are on a bit higher price comparing the other surrounding restaurants, however the quality is the best. I had a very tasty (medium cooked) tuna steak here. We waited long time for the meals but it was a wealth.

Absolutely great place! Just off the main strip but worth visiting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the 5 star experience prices are very reasonable, which adds to the overall value. Cataplana was simply stunning!

Simply excellent. The restaurant is inside a building, next to the swimming pool. It has a terrace but we seated inside. The staff is very kind and warm but professional.
The "cataplana" is simply delicious: sea food with vegetables and a little bit spicy. They bring also some fresh chopped coriander and "piri-piri", home maid spicy sauce. We drank a small bottle of white wine.
For dessert, the almond cake was superb. The staff invite us to a coup of Oporto. Great dinner for two people, less than 55€.

Restaurante con un servicio muy educado, platos de alta calidad y muy buenos tanto en carnes como en pescados. Alrededor de 30€ por persona. Recomiendo el pato a la naranja y los postres. Relación calidad y precio muy bueno.
Como punto negativo las mesas están demasiado juntas y tardan bastante en poner la comida.

After finding this restaurant since It was close to our hotel we decided to try it out. it is a little hard to find but all good...great things come from a little work....
The staff is very good, prompt, courteous and always smiling. As for the food, we had sea bass and Gold brim with vegetables. For dessert the Banf which was banana with ice cream and a cookie/ biscuit. How was it??? Well it was phenomenal. The fish was cooked to perfection flaky and moist. The dessert... well the plate was empty... The owners are personable and accommodating. Hospitality and our enjoyment is their first priority.
I will be back tomorrow with only 2 days left here.

Great place with great food. Price is good. Service is excellent. They talk to people and make small jokes. To finish the nice dinner every guest gets some home Porto Vine and that's on the house. We were sitting on a terrace and it was so quiet and lovely. I recommend.

We got seated quickly and our order taken as well. I didn't feel that we waited too long. Pretty standard. We ordered fish soup and as mains, a squid dish and a roast pork with potatoes. They were kind enough to listen to my request of having french fries. Both main dishes were very good. Worth the money. Downsides: the soup we felt it could have been better. I for one felt as if it was "yesterday's soup". But it could just be me. What I did like about it was that it had plenty of fish. All in all a good experience. Would go again.

Amazing food! Amazing service. Staff so friendly. Good so good. I had the pork loin stuffed with heaven. Party of four and we all loved our food. We got free port wine during dessert and they left the bottle. Great time. Would definitely go back!

I went there last night with my family and we've booked a table for 9 pm. Everything was ok and in the beginning, the service was not that good as expected, but then 2 Brazilians waiters took over the table and thank you guys because you save the night! The food was amazing and the Cataplana was brilliant. The cheesecake I have to confess that it was one of the best I've ever tried. It was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very cozy and I strongly recommend to book before going there, otherwise, you might not have a table available. The only con the restaurant has is that the food takes ages to serve but this, according to one of the waiters is because everything is fresh and made at the time you order, I guess it is fair enough. All the family was happy and we spent a good night there and we are going to come back! :)

Didn't get a menu for 20 mins, forgot our water order, seemed to generally forget we were there and had to ask for the bill four times in half an hour before we could pay and leave. Food was OK. People friendly when they noticed us. Other tables around us seemed to get great service so maybe we were just unlucky wedged between two larger groups.

Sin duda de lo mejor en restauración de Portimao. Gran calidad del pescado que comimos, en especial el pulpo era espectacular y traía una gran cantidad, para el precio que tenía. El único pero que le pondría es que el tiempo de espera fue algo elevado para la gente que había, pero por lo demás todo genial. Precio competitivo para la calidad de la comida.
Repetiré sin duda si vuelvo por la zona.

Excellent! This is the word which describe the food (fish soup, red snapper, crepes with orange syrup, ice cream and strawberry), the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff. Their smile can't be teached, it comes from the heart. Highly recommend!

Merece la pena por su comida, personal y trato.
Comimos una excelente cataplana de mariscos con los entremeses tipicos portugueses de entrada y unos langostinos fritos como primer plato.

My wife and I were rescinded this restaurant by the staff at the hotel. We were honestly a little weary, but turns out we had nothing to be worried about!
The staff was pleasant and the restaurant is very pretty.
Food wise, we shared the cataplana because it's the regional delicacy and the hotel staff recommended it. It was spectacular! Not only was it amazingly fresh, it was amazingly tasty! Best meal we had while in the Algarve

Food is lovely, we had plenty of shellfish and the octopus. Portion are perfect and the service is fast. Staff is very nice and friendly too. Good value for money.

Ein toller Abend mit perfektem Abendessen. Die Gastgeberin nahm es sich raus, uns am Ende ein paar Portwein Gläser auszugeben. Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Obrigado!

We ate Cataplana and all the fish was frozen. Don't recomend at all. Very expensive restaurant for the quality of the food.

After our first meal, it was so good we went back two more times within a week! Superb food and a lovely family atmosphere. We sat outside on a beautiful garden terrace. Very romantic! Nothing was too much trouble. After 2 holidays in Portimao this is now our favourite restaurant by far. The red shrimp and fillet steak melted in the mouth. A real hidden gem.

We ate here twice on our 7 day trip to Portugal. I only wish we had discovered this restaurant sooner! Although we only discovered it 2 days before we were due to leave Portugal, it was so good we went there both nights. I think the entire table agreed that the best dish was, by far, the wild boar and plum stew. Although the other dishes were cooked to an excellent standard, the wild boar and plum stew stood out. The boar fell apart with the slightest touch, and I could even go as far as to say it melted in the mouth. It was served with rice and vegetables. Because it came in a casserole dish and with a serving spoon, the entire table got to taste it! The waiters were brilliant too. They were friendly, funny, and overall a delight to talk to (nothing like the waiters you usually get, who mindlessly take the order, give you the food, and don't do anything more). One of the waitresses even gave my mum a clothing catalogue, as the waitress also worked for a clothing designer (which my mum was very interested in). Overall, I'd say this restaurant is one of the best I've been to (and I've been to lots of restaurants). Fantastic!

I visited this restaurant several times since reopening, I have enjoyed every meal each time. The Duration,grilled the garlic shrimp /prawns the soup and fresh assortment of salads. I can honestly say from the staff to ambiance and most of all the meal, with out a doubt it was amazing. I will certainly be back.
Thank you for making my stay in the Algarve a"memorable" one.

Passámos um ótimo jantar com excelente atendimento, sempre muito atenciosos. O ambiente foi excelente com boa música ambiente. Definitivamente um restaurante a visitar pelos excelentes pratos apresentados, a não perder em viagem ao Algarve e aconselho vivamente a toda a gente!
