Busy place, we should have booked really but the super friendly service team sorted a table out for us. Excellent specials board, fresh seafood, nice wine and good background music. Priced accordingly.

Happy caring helpful staff, big, fresh, tasty food and a live acoustic band to get the party started on a beach side afternoon. Book as it's extremely popular with well to do locals escaping the tourists which is a great recommendation in itself.

Generally I enjoyed my experience yesterday at BJs however the burger was very average. The bread was really poor that came with the burger. Something so simple to get right as well.

We stopped here for shelter from the rain and wind while walking along the beach today.
The place is very well done out, all the little quotes on the wall are lovely. The decor is great, staff all very friendly and accommodating. Food looked good on other tables, we only had some nibbles - which were very good too. The guy singing and playing was very good too and interactive with everyone.
Would definitely recommend a visit here if you are in the area. We sheltered for a little while before heading back out in the rain to walk back to our hotel!!

BJ's is absolutely and utterly perfect. You can see the love and attention poured into every detail. The food, the decor, the service and the incredible atmosphere, be prepared to sing your heart out with your fellow dinners and come away knowing that was the highlight of your holiday. We went on a damp overcast Sunday thinking this couldn't match our previous visits, wrong! BJ's serves up magic every time. Counting the days to the next visit.

Lovely little beach bar on a very secluded beach. Fabulous views of both the sea and the lake. Food was really good & the staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Tolle Lokation direkt am Strand/Naturschutzgebiet. Einfach aber sauber. Sehr nettes junges Personal. 1,5 Sterne Abzug für die aus meiner Sicht überzogenen Preise. Beispiel Espresso... Kostet dort sage und schreibe 2 Euro im übrigen genauso viel wie ein Amerikano. In Quarteira auch am Strand liegt der Preis für einen vergleichbaren Espresso unter 1 Euro. Die Preise fürs Essen sind ebenfalls hochpreisig...und wir befinden uns hier nicht im Golf Ressort noch Vilamura. Da würde ich solche Preise erwarten.

The most fun afternoon of our holiday! Beautiful location and brilliant atmosphere. We were all up dancing at one point! Food and service were excellent too. We were recommended the restaurant by friends and family and will continue to do the same for anyone else we know venturing out this way. Thank you.

I ❤️BJ’s. Fantastic grilled fish in a great laid-back setting and with friendly service. The sides and starters are a bit disappointing/overpriced but overall a great meal and a must on every trip to the Algarve for us.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Our first trip to BJ’s we enjoyed a morning coffee whilst familiarising ourselves with the area. Our 2nd visit we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and drinks, all with superb beach and sea views. Highly recommend, but to eat it is essential to book. Manager told us that Sunday’s are always fully booked weeks ahead...

Food was brilliant. The fish dishes seem to change daily as the fish and the meat dishes are always on top form.
Great views of the beach. The beach is massive and has perfect golden sand. Possible a nice walk from Quartaria.
One thing you need to know is to book in advance, I mean two weeks in advance, this place is very popular at lunchtimes.
Would highly recommend.

Great location on the beach and the ambience is good. Service was a little too much at times (they asked how the meal was about six times). Had an excellent goats cheese salad but my cheeseburger was a bit ordinary.

Me,Jackie,Jess and James just spent the afternoon at BJ’S Oceanside and it was great,we were met by and served by friendly staff and James loved the dressing up too,the food was great and the atmosphere was great too great for families,I would recommend that you go.

Awesome staff, every single one happy to help with a smile and go the extra mile.
Food was brilliant, and there are vegetarian and meat options if you're not into fish.
The fish dishes seem to change daily as the fish is brought fresh from the local market.
Great views on an amazing sandy beach right against the waters edge. The beach is massive and has perfect golden sand.
Free parking right behind the restaurant too.
Would definitely recommend.

Lugar espetacular, tem uma linda paisagem ( mar e por do sol), staff muitos simpáticos e bonitos, ótimas bebidas. Um lugar perfeito para estar com amigos ou com o seu grande amor e apreciar o pôr do sol, a música é extremamente agradável.

Perfect location, nice people, and good food. Specialized in grilled fish from the market, there is nevertheless one interesting vegetarian dish (which I did not see often in the regio). Then you can spend the rest of the day on a long sandy beach.

This is situated in a superb location, but at a cost. A coffee was over double the normal price 2.50 euro.

A great place to get fish and seafood. They've an amazing starter plate with hummus and tuna mayonnaise which I'd highly recommend.
We had the sea beam for 2 people and it was very delicious.
There's live music on every Sunday and Wednesday, and apparently this is when the place and the beach are full of people partying.
If you can I would recommend visiting the place on one of these days as then you'll get to enjoy the buzz of the place. In any case you'll be in for a nice, clean and not so crowded beach just outside of the restaurant.

Extremely overpriced place with unbelievably rude service. The local staff were friendly and nice, however they only occupy support jobs while waiters are British nationals. And those waiters are rude and unpleasant. The food is good, but the service is just awful.

Can't wait to go back very layed back relaxed atmosphere dare I say hippyish. Lovely to watch the sun go down with a nice cold drink at the end of the day. We where there last September and are heading there again in Oct and this will our first stop for our first evening.

So glad to have finally made it to BJ's Oceanside after hearing so much about it over the years. It certainly stood up to all the hype and I wish I'd taken photos of the food as the fish was as stunning as the views were to die for. The sole I had was probably the best I'd ever had! All the food was delicious, the squid was perfect and the burgers were so juicy. All set in a perfect beach side "shack" with sun shaded decking, such hospitable staff and great live music to top it off. Best place to go in the south of Portugal for some Oceanside dining. Massive thanks to Bex, J and their amazing staff for a lovely lunch. Can't wait to return!

Costumamos vir de férias a esta praia e por consequência como única opção visitámos 2 vezes o bj's uma das vezes e apesar de estarem alguns cidadãos britânicos sentados na sua bonita esplanada a tomar café, foi nos dito que poderíamos tomar café mas que tinha se ser rápido uma vez que queriam servir almoços e ali estávamos a ocupar espaço... Desta segunda vez aconteceu exactamente a mesma coisa excepto que pagamos uma quantia exageradissima para quem tomou 2 cafés e pediu uma água de 1,5l para levar, pareceu me um roubo que pagassemos 7,50 dos quais 4€ da água. Deveriam ter vergonha e ir roubar para o vosso país! Portanto se pensarem em visitar este espaço levem as carreiras bem recheadas ou arriscam se a deixar as cuecas¿!

€6 for 2 fizzy orange and then they asked us to leave 2 minutes after so they could set up for evening service. Nice location, typically paying for that and the lack of any need to foster any repeat business.

The atmosphere, with live music, top notch cuisine and right on Almargem beach, with its golden sands and bluest ocean.
Fresh fish daily and a host of catch of the day, dishes all around the €25 euro mark, not the cheapest, but the quality and presentation was great. Fresh veg and salads completed the meal. Al fresco dining but a choice of sun and shade and sun screens to keep you shaded as the sun moves round.
The waiting staff, young and eager to please. Spoke several languages. Fast efficient service. Good for couples parties and families. A dressing up chest for the children( and some adults to use).
As I say mid priced. Many drinks, starters, mains and desserts was around€70 a couple, the table was ours from lunch til 5 , when they prep for evening. One of my favourites to take guests.

The location is lovely, with some great views over the beach, food is very good, staff very nice. You need to make a reservation if you plan to go for lunch. As the place is busy, it gets also very loud, so I wouldn't recommend if something peaceful is what you're looking for.
Prices are higher than most places in Quarteira.

Looks like this is going to be my seaside hangout. It's cool lovely sea and sand and there is live music playing as a sit and enjoy the sun and a good book. The restaurant has many yummy options and I can see people enjoying their food. I've only sampled the coffee and beer so far, but I'm going for munchies. Menu looks exciting

Dit is een super gezellig strandtentje waar we gisteren (zondag) konden meegenieten van een live bandje die alom bekende songs speelden zodat iedereen mee kon zingen en dansen. De zanger was ook best heel goed! Het eten is er ook niet heel duur en erg lekker!!!

High prices, close at 11 pm. If you ordered a cocktail they pour it over into a plastic cup and ask you to leave. If you want an evening drink, go somewhere else.

My favourite place for lunch in the whole of Portugal. I always eat too much and drink too much. Then shake it all off with a swim in the sea after a great afternoon. BJ's have great staff who are very attentive and friendly - been the chef is a laugh when he shows his face. You must must book in the summer though. Also ask to sit by the sea for the best view.

Local "pé na areia" a 50m do mar. Atendimento e menu muito bom se for inglês. Para Portugueses a "música" é outra, antipáticos e arrogantes. Comprove no local, mas leve a carteira bem recheada pois os preços são em média 3 vezes mais altos.

Worst Service ever. They ask us to leave before finnishing our drinks and Kids ice cream. I complaint without getting understanding. They explaint that we should leave because of waiting clients. Restaurant wasn't full. You find better Services and as well better prices at other beaches. Said. Never had such terrible Experience. Therefore my first web Feedback.

Perfect Oceanside restaurant. Right on the beach with nothing else immediately near by. Stunning sunset views. Excellent seafood. Friendly helpful service. We had a great group dinner here and stayed after sunset having drinks and laughing with the band, who were also playing the perfect soundtrack for the location. Must visit if in the area for a sunset dinner.

A real gem hidden on a sandy beach but easily accessible via GPS once you have discovered the internet site. It's run by a clever band of Brits. Visited on May 22 sipping a delicious "Sumerset" apple cider on the rocks in the glowing afternoon sun that was served by Robbin, the charming Aussie of BJ's staff. It's on the expensive side but well worth for the romantic location and the fun. Sadly, we learned that the "rambazamba", i.e. the night life with live music, starts only in June.

We had lunch there. Great setting. Asked our waiter what he would recommend on the lighter side as all the food looked fabulous but did not want a big meal. He recommended the chicken livers. was superb.
Wish I could remember his name as he was outstanding. in fact so was all the staff.
they are not open in the evenings as yet or we would have returned for dinner one night.

Tolle Lage aber total überbewertet! Der Fisch gut aber im allgemeinen viel zu teuer und die Beilage nur schrecklich. Das Gemüse ohne Liebe aus dem Wasser gezogen und null Geschmack. Leider nicht zu empfehlen, für die vielen Engländer scheinbar aber ok.

Great location. Pricing on the menus was high, due it's the location probably. Staff were slow to serve or even bring menus even though it wasn't busy, so we left after a drink and didn't eat due to the slow service. Live music as well.

One of the best beachside kiosks along the Algarve Coast. Always has a great atmosphere and the food is very good. As you would expect the prices are a little higher than those of the restaurants inland, but the view is well worth the extra. Throughout the summer they have live music every afternoon and its always party time. I guarantee you will have a great time as well as great service, food and drink!!

Disappointed after visiting BJ’s with the family this evening.
The restaurant enjoys an enviably idyllic position on the beach with views over the ocean and the food was fairly good: the pitta came with tasty hummus and tuna, the fish cakes were nice, the sea bream was moist (but pretty small) and the burger was impressive.
However, the service was very poor and spoiled the overall experience. I had to chase up my first drink and our starters after waiting for more than half an hour (we weren't charged for the €6 pitta). Our daughter's sausage and chips arrived very quickly after the starters but had to wait a further 15 minutes for the other mains. I asked for a second drink but it never arrived - but, to be honest, I'd given up by that time.
Desserts did come out pretty quickly….and the bill appeared instantly!
Also, make sure you take enough cash as cards aren't accepted.
