Miserable experience. I went in strictly for a cleaning, specified both on the phone and in person. After waiting over 15 minutes beyond my appointment time to be shown in, upon looking in my mouth Dr. Martins said there was an imperfect restoration which he would just correct for me, without asking, showing, or obtaining my consent. When you're on your back with a light in your face and people hovering over you, you don't always have your wife about you to control a situation when things go in an unexpected way. There was never an issue with this tooth before. He quickly proceeded to drill away, and even after the appointment the area felt sharper, which I expressed before leaving. The reply: teeth are sensitive to small changes and give it a few days. Looking in the mirror I can see that it is now jagged. It's also now difficult to get floss in between that tooth. They're now closed for holidays and I'm leaving Portugal, so I'll to have to pay elsewhere to have this forced mutilation undone. Unacceptable but sadly typical power abuse from a medical professional.
