Cool high vaulted stone ceiling with a great cellar-style ambiance. great service who let's you taste multiple wines before buying and helps you pick! Def worth a visit for a nice glass and some charcuterie

After 1,5 years in Lisbon, this was the place I enjoyed the most. The ambience in itself is well worth a visit. The wine is exclusively Portuguese, which for most people will be a whole new world. Don't worry however - the staff is extremely knowledgeable, and will help you out.
The food is 10 out of 10. Get the prawns and bread for the sauce.
You will never get this good a meal within the EU for this price.

Endroit sympathique dans un ancien aqueduc. Par contre nous avons été très mal reçu. On avait l impression de déranger. On a dit qu on aimait bien le vin et qu on voulait goûter quelque chose de bon et on nous a ramener les bouteilles entrée de gamme déjà ouvertes. On a mangé et comparé aux autres restaurants j ai trouvé ça très cher comparé a la quantité et la qualité.
Moi qui adore le vin j ai été bien déçu...

It’s basically a winery that’s been remodeled. Wine is very good, a bit on the pricey side which I don’t mind. The surrounding area is what bothered me, it’s all under construction and it hides the place from view. But it’s still worth checking out.

Excellent experience. We went after having had dinner so we only ordered port even though they have quite a wide selection of food as well. We very much enjoyed the explanation about different kinds of port. We tried four different kinds of port which were all very nice. Cannot recommend any more; it’s a great way to experience Portuguese culture! Do not be put off by the shadiness of the neighborhood (there is a lot of graffiti).

We had the most wonderful experience. Nuno brought us several bottles to taste before we chose. Most of the wines are served by the glass at the exact proportion of the bottle price. You can try different wines, paying no extra. The setting is amazing, an old aqueduct building. Can't recommend more enthusiastically.

Love the mixed platter of cheese and prosciutto and salami from acorn-fed pigs. The two Douro reds wines suggested by the gentlemen there were stunning even though they are 18 years apart. The wines by the glass are slightly more expensive than other shops but one pays for the quality.

Excellent wines, beautiful location, friendly and attentive staff, lovely food and great music / atmosphere. Nothing to complain. But wear a warm jacket and keep it as winter is coming ;-)

Ici vous trouverez une déco à tomber par terre, ce lieu de dégustation de vin et de produits locaux (jambon, fromage) est incroyable. Ancien château d'eau du 18eme siecle idéal pour passer une bonne soirée. Laisser vous guider par le patron et porter par la musique blues. (de 6 à x euros le verre de vin)

We stumbled across this place whilst looking for dinner. It's a wine bar set in an old aquaduct and we had a €38 set menu with matching wine. The food was actually delicious (cod, quinoa duck salad, mousse) as was the wine, given we dint know anything about Portuguese wine. They need to ventilate it though as it was a bit stuffy.

Interesting place. It's in an old tower, part of the ancient Lisbon aqueduct. It's very cool. We had a wine degustation with paring of small (in reality they were quite big) bites. Excellent wines and creative food. The combination worked very well. I would recommend the staff to open the windows in summer though. It was quite hot and humid inside ruining a bit the all experience.

Really interesting building, cool in the literal and physical sense but the food and wine is very over priced for what you get-each dish shown cost between €6-8 each and one glass of wine cost us €7.75 -always check the price first before asking the waiter for a recommendation! The place is more style over substance and there are better value for money places in the street nearby.

Passend zum Essen werden mir verschiedene Weine und ein Sekt vorgestellt. Die gemischte Platte mit Käse und Schinken vom Schwarzen Schwein schmeckt vorzüglich. Zum Abschluss ein leckerer Port von Burmester!

This is a long-overdue, glowing review of the incredible Chafariz do Vinho, one of the very best restaurants and wine bars that we tried in Lisbon last year! The wines were, of course, exceptional and reasonably priced. The mussels were some of the best I've ever had, and I grew up in New England! The interior, an old aqueduct and cistern, is intimate and awe-inspiring.
Above all else though, I must mention the hospitable and warm staff, who took extra care to see that we enjoyed our time at their establishment. We tried to come back a second time in the few days we had in Lisbon. They were booked but promised to make a special arrangement for us the following night. Sure enough, they came through and helped us cap off an already excellent experience in of the most beautiful and most culinary-minded cities I've ever been to. Cheers to everyone at Chafariz do Vinho!

Un sitio excelente para probar vinos, bastante caro pero merece la pena. Buen servicio, los camareros muy amables, te lo explican todo y te aconsejan. El lugar es un antiguo aljibe, muy bien restaurado.

Imagine a place in the backstage of an ancient fountain, a space inside thick stone walls and a single prominent exit, a tunnel that connects to the patriarchal water reserve where the wine is stored fresh and safe from the light, no add some of the best Portuguese wines for pleasing your palate.
Amongst the wines I recommend is Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas ir as a lesão expensive offer Allo, one of the most elegant and perhaps feminine wines I was offered to taste.

Ci siamo recati in orario "aperitivo" (18:00-20:00) per poter fare la degustazione di vini e Porto consigliata dalla rete su vari siti. Location bellissima, fuori dal circuito turistico, nascosta e o si capita per caso oppure si cerca appositamente: rustica e particolare, ci è piaciuta molto. Io ho deciso di fare la degustazione di vini (2 bianchi, 1 rosè e 1 rosso) ed il mio ragazzo una degustazione di Porto e Madeira. Abbiamo accompagnato il tutto con un tagliere grande misto di salumi e formaggi, pane e olive. Costo totale € 47.0. La cameriera dopo aver preparato davanti a noi i bicchieri con tutte le bottiglie in bella vista ci ha illustrato ogni singolo bicchiere, con indicazioni sul prodotto, zona, gusto, colore, ecc... Molto preparata e gentile.

Una muuuy extensa carta de vinos y el propietario tiene extensos conocimentos de.enologia. Tenia mucho tiempo que no comia unas tapas tan buenas; recomiendo sobre todo el chorizo portugues con manzana !!! El sitio es espectacular ( es una torre del acueducto de lisboa). Lastima que no pudimos visitar la bodega. Sin duda volvere.

A really interesting place, built into one of the old aqueduct columns. Lively choice of good wines and attentive service. We had a flight of wines for EUR15, two white, two red, definitely recommended.

A nice place to dine. Maybe some of the dishes is a bit too advanced for the chef. Since you can select a few dishes you decide the amount of money you wish to spend. A nice selection of Portuguese wines and ports.

Try the wine tasting and you won't be disappointed. The staff is unbelievabley knowledgeable and friendly. The location is great and the building is spectacular inside. Also try one of their cheese boards.

大人なレストラン。
ローマ時代だったかな、昔から最近まで使われていた水道用の水を通す跡地に建てられた石造りの建物がお店であり、雰囲気がすごくある。こちらは8歳以下の子供を何人も連れて入っていったが、嫌な顔一つせずに明るく接客してくれた。まあでも旅行じゃなければ大人同士で行った方がよさそう。
チーズからハム、おつまみまでレベルは高い。もちろん料理も美味しい。当然大人なレストランなのでポートワイン等ワイン全般美味しい。お勧めです。

Nice and cosy place, with a service that doesn't fit with target customer profile. Wine and exquisite food as only offer, clearly must have a 5* service and knowledge!
Prices of wines too high comparing to other restaurantes with much better offer and service!
Service was not proper for the house! We and our recommendations will not never again go to this place!
Sitio acolhedor e simpático, com oferta especializada de vinhos e petiscos, não pode ter um serviço tão mau como o encontrado. Uma casa de vinhos não pode entregar na mesa um vinho com um ano diferente do que está na lista. Quando confrontados, usaram argumentos disparatados e não havia ninguém para tomar decisões.
Na lista o vinho Duorum 2011 (um ano excelente) e entregam na mesa um 2013 (ano regular). Esta troca só pode ser aceite numa tasca de rua, pois qualquer Restaurante com bom serviço não o faria. Por isso não aceitamos que um local onde o vinho dá nome ao local, possa incorrer em tal falha sem assumir o erro. Tentaram argumentar com uma falta de elegância, que não teve o tratamento adequado, pois o grupo de amigos não estava com vontade de criar problemas. Muito mau serviço! A não repetir e ecoar por todo o lado o mau local que temos em Lisboa.

Not sure how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. If you love wine and fin yourself in Lisbon, coming here is a must! Truly a once in a lifetime experience. The staff was great, the food was fantastic and the wine (go for the "best" wine tasting) was awesome! BUT, the location / ambiance is what really puts it over the top.

The food was excellent, and with stunning wine pairings. The service was amazing, and the location is something in itself (it is in an old water tank). While certainly not cheap, it is not absurdly expensive, and I think I got more than what I paid for.
