We had a great experience with this company! We were upgraded to the 1.5 hour tour free of charge by a really friendly tour operator. The tour itself was a blast - our tour guide Miguel was cracking jokes non-stop. Miguel was a pro at navigating and we felt safe in his boat at all times. Highly recommend.

This was such an awesome experience and already started off with the nicest people on the phone! The caves on the coastline are breathtakingly beautiful! Our guide was incredible, his navigation skills were out of this world getting into the smallest places and caves to show us around. Any time again, thank you guys, so much fun!!

Sehr schöne Tour. Hatten auch die 1 1/2 stündige Tour gebucht. Hat alles super geklappt. Freundlicher Service und super Fahrer. Nehmt euch flip-flop oder Schwimmschuhe mit. Normale Schuhe werden beim einsteigen nass. Habe davor angerufen und reserviert. Muss aber nicht unbedingt sein. Es gibt viele Anbieter aber die kleinen Booten kommen in die Grotten rein

Awesome !! Much better then expected. For €25 a trip i Will never forget. The boat pilot is very good, he knows what he is doing. We went in 15?? caves and because of the high water we got in some caves for like 50 meters?? Very cool and dark. Great experience!

One of my favourite parts of my trip to Portugal was watching the sun set here. The caves are amazing and fun to explore but they are even better as place to look out to see and just take in the beauty of the Algarve

A faire absolument si vous êtes dans le coin ! Ne regardez pas le prix, cette balade vous laissera un souvenir probablement inoubliable. Les petites embarcations ne sont pas avares en sensations, et permettent d'acceder à toutes les grottes. Guide super sympa (Miguel).

Expérience exceptionnelle !! Skipper très gentil qui nous a donné des anecdotes sur chacune des grottes visitées. Il a pris le temps de s’arrêter pour que l’on prenne de belles photos. Nous nous sommes approchés de très près ! Nous étions avec notre fils de 8 mois, il a également très apprécié la balade. Nous avons choisi la balade de 1h 25€ c’était déjà très bien. Cette « balade » en mer fut la meilleure excursion du séjour en Algarve.

Perfect tour on a perfect day. Very friendly staff, very informative and we felt safe throughout the tour and were even able to see some dolphins. We truly enjoyed this experience and will surely be back with friends next year.

We booked 1 hour tour online for tofay, 16.10, we did book it 3 days advance. When we came, and the time came, there was no one, and one guy explained that the weather is not good to go on tour. Its okey about the weather, all i want, is that the company notice you that. They even didn,t answered phone. And we saw some other boats go on same day. Would choose another boats.

Un lugar que no debes perderte. Es muy interesante ver como estos acantilados cambian cada día por la acción del agua sobre la roca caliza.

My in-laws went on the Carvoeiro Caves boat tour and showed us the pics from Benagil Caves so we had to go to Portugal to do this same tour. They loved it and so did we. We did the 1.5 hr Marinha tour on a boat for about 12 passengers plus crew. They are very well organized when you arrive at the ticket booth on the beach. The explanation on their website on where to park your car to get to the beach on the site is not too clear so I created a map below. You park for FREE next to the Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, Rampa Sra. da Encarnação 29, Carvoeiro, Portugal. You then walk down a steep hill until you see some steps that wind down to the ticket booth beside the public washrooms. The odd thing is that you have to reserve by credit card online in advance and then pay 30 EU per person cash when you arrive. We were quite amazed at some of the cave openings they skipper squeezed the boat into. My wife was a little scared at time but they proved to be very competent at maneuvering the smallish boat. I would recommend this smaller (about 22 ft) boat as you can get in to many more caves then the larger boats. The boat was in very good shape, the personal flotation devices (PFDs) were top notch and the guide was informative and did not talk too much, just the right about of information. We loved these caves so much that we did a kayak rental a day later so we could get onto the beach. When you are on the boat tour you never leave the boat. This was a bucket-list must do for me! Check!

O lugar maia bonito que conheci em vida!

We had booked a boat trip for 4 adults and 2 children (5 and 9). We booked the 90 minute cave tour (I believe that there is also a 60 minute tour). I would recommend booking the trip directly at the 'CarvoeiroCaves' kiosk which is on the far left hand side of the beach. If you book at one of the many local travel agencies you will possibly pay more as they take a commission fee. When you're due to board, go the kiosk area. There is small room where you can leave you footwear and belongs (if needed). I would recommend wearing flip flops or some other kind of waterproof shoe. This is because you will board and disembark the boat at the beach shore. If the sea is choppy you may have to exit into a few inches of water. DO NOT WEAR SHOES YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET WET!! The staff at the kiosk area were really friendly and chatty and fielded all our questions. They were great with the kids. One of our group was suffering from a foot condition that meant his foot could not get submerged in water. Due to the breezy conditions on the day we had booked to sail, the staff could not guaranteed that his foot would not get wet getting on and/or off the boat. They issued a full refund without question and were really accommodating and reasonable about the whole situation. The cave tour was fantastic. Taking your camera is a must - we went on a breezy day and other than a bit of spray, we remained quite dry. You may want to put your electronics in a plastic bag if worried about this. The 'captain' of the boat appeared to be an experienced sailor and handled the boat well, even in the conditions. The trip involves going inside some caves and can be quite narrow. Any one who suffers from claustrophobia may want to bear this in mind. All in all a fantastic trip and well worth every penny. A must if staying in the area.

Ik lees hier vele lovende woorden over de kapitein maar dit was bij ons absoluut niet. Vooral stoerdoenerij, geen uitleg, leek ons onbekwaam,... Het was prachtig, de grotten, maar volgende keer zeker niet meer met deze organisatie!! Vooral blij om terug op het vasteland te zijn. Ik voelde me echt niet veilig!

Masificado lo describe perfectamente. Largas colas para coger el barco que te lleva a verla y no puedes ni bajar a verla por dentro. Nadar hasta la cueva está prohibido a pesar de que esta bastante cerca pero sería una locura con el trasiego de barcos entrando y saliendo. Está bien si quieres pasar un rato en la playa, pero no se ve la entrada de la cueva desde la orilla.

Excellent experience. Great value for money. We took the 1.5hr trip with Miguel (Bond) as our Captain. He was excellent. Very skilled captain, squeezing into the tightest caves and with great chat and information. Highly recommended!!!

Il serait dommage de passer à coté de ces visites si vous êtes à Carvoeiro. Moyennant 30€ vous aurez le droit à plus d'une heure de visite en bateau. Bien que certaines grottes soient un peu décevantes, on est émerveillé devant la beauté d'autres. Notre guide Miguel (Bond) a été très bien.

Good tour for good money. Took the 1,5 hour trip. Buetifull sights. Can be a bit crowded on the water though.

Had our reservation scheduled for 14:00. Came at 10:30 and provided our phone number should there be any cancellations as we needed sonething earlier. Sped through lunch and wolfed down our meals onlyvto arrive at 13:36 to find out our spots had been given away and we were now scheduled on the next boat for 15:00, which now ruins our dinner plans. Also had a very poor experience over the phone when booking. Waiting at a cafe now and hoping the actual tour will make up for the very poor experince so far....will provide an update after the tour. Update...Giving 1 more star as the tour was very nice and the captain was great, but eas still really annoyed about being bumped

Expert boatsmen who was really nice, but was impossible to hear from front of boat. Scenery is spectacular but beware of ride back. Fast speed and really hard on back. We did the 1.5 tours through more than just the Benagil cave which is worth doing.

Simply beautiful!! Carvoeiro is my favorite beach in Algarve. The village is quite small, but has many Caletas, caves, boardwalks on the beach. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area. You can find lots of local shops with souvenirs and traditional markets nearby. Try the coffee and a pastel de nata in one of the cafés or restaurants, they are delicious!!! You can visit the caves, it's easy to find them. The view is amazing from the caves, the blue of the ocean is so beautiful! There is plenty of space if you wanna spend your day there, there is a platform outside the caves on the rocks where you have space to lay in the sun. There is a natural pool in the rocks, so you can have a bath there. It's a very nice place where you can take some pretty pictures. We go to Carvoeiro every time when visiting Portugal. It's a special place!

Portugal is a country with many beautiful and incredible places. One of the most outstanding is Algar de Benagil: a cave with a small beach inside that has been considered as one of the most beautiful caves in the world. A must visit!

Experiencia más que recomendable. Hemos escogido el trayecto largo que incluye la playa de a Marinha (1.5h) y son 30€ persona. Dinero bien invertido pues desde el primer momento trato excepcional, destacando al patrón del barco Pedro, con un viaje super ameno y él simpático y amable. Se cogen los tickets a la izquierda de la playa(si miras al mar) en una caseta de madera. Te dan chalecos una vez ya en el barco y como máximo van 11 personas en la embarcación. Permiten llevar mochila a bordo y debes sacarte el calzado para ir en ella. Más que recomendado para visitar toda la costa, y Pedro un crack con el barco metiéndolo en cuevas que parecía imposible.

Muy buena excursión. Las cuevas son espectaculares. Nos tocó con Miguel, muy simpático y muchísimo control del barco y de la zona. ¡PARA REPETIR!

En la misma playa de Carvoeiro hay varias empresas que te ofrecen las excursiones por las cuevas. El problema que te encuentras en agosto/julio es que hay mucha gente y si llegas por la mañana probablemente sólo queden visitas para después de comer. Lo mejor es reservar el día antes si quieres hacer una de las excursiones de la mañana. Te piden un depósito (50%) si reservas para el día siguiente.

Imprescindible realizar este tour. Mucho patrón Miguel ha sido lo más y si se le termina este trabajo como animador NO TIENE PRECIO. Muchas gracias

No lo dudes. Lo tienes que hacer. Es la mejor manera de ver el relieve costero del Algarve y ver la cantidad de cuevas que hay Joao un crack a los mandos de la barca y haciendo el viaje entretenido y divertido. No contaré más para no chafar la sorpresa Por 30 euros, hora y media y el trayecto es hasta Praia da Marinha. Una maravilla vista desde el mar y, por supuesto, la Cueva y la playa de Benagil Hay otro trayecto de 25 euros y una hora que acaba en Benagil pero te recomiendo el anterior, porque éste te va a saber a poco

Très belle sortie. Petit bateau qui permet de se faufiler dans toutes les grottes. Bravo au très bon pilote Miguel et qui de surcroît est sympathique et a de l' humour.

Wir haben die 90-minütige Tour mitgemacht, sie war sehr schön. Leider kann man sich seine Mitfahrer nicht ebenfalls aussuchen, es war eine Familie dabei, die mehr daran interessiert waren, den Sixpack Bierdosen zu leeren und eine Runde schwimmen zu gehen, wobei sie dann beim Sprung ins Wasser fast alle im Boot nassgespritzt haben, aber dafür kann der Veranstalter nichts. Der Guide hat sich bemüht, die Höhlen auf Portugiesisch und Englisch zu erklären, ist selbst noch in die kleinste Lücke hinein manövriert und hatte das Boot sicher unter Kontrolle. Auch wartete er geduldig, bis alle ihre Fotos geschossen hatten. Am Rückweg hat er dann Gas gegeben und ist durch die Wellen gepflügt, was dafür gesorgt hat, dass alle „geduscht“ worden sind. Also bitte nur Sachen anziehen, die Wassertropfen abbekommen dürfen. War - bis auf den o.g. Wermutstropfen - eine sehr schöne Tour.

This was ridiculously cool. Rough start but well worth it. Here's the story (we took the longer tour, which you should always choose), y'all stick with me. We booked online more than a month in advance. When we arrived the morning of our trip, they had no record of us, an oversight by the website folks. The ladies manning the front were a mix of distressingly apologetic and furious with the person that messed up. An amazing Portuguese rant occured. It was beautiful and terrifying. Anyway, they couldn't get us on the boat, but offered a slot that afternoon at a DEEPLY discounted rate. It was raining and cloudy anyway, so we accepted and hung around town for a few hours. Moral of the story, CALL AHEAD THE DAY BEFORE to check weather and co firm your reservation. Cool, so afternoon rolls around, skies clear up a bit but the seas are VERY choppy. Dudes are fighting to hold the boat while we clamber through the surf to get on. Too easy. 3 families, one with a little boy, more on that champ later. And then our tour guide stepped up. Dude is half DJ, half extreme boating daredevil, and half standup comedian. I'm aware that's too many halves. We go zipping through the surf, in and out of a dozen or more caves. I've never seen anyone drive a boat like this guy. Ever done a donut in a little boat in a cave with surf crashing everywhere and barely any clearance? We sure have. Dude is probably one of the most knowledgeable folks on the coast about all the caves, it sounds like he has spent most of his life boating and exploring the coastline and caves like some sort of speedboat spelunker. Keep in mind, no other boats are seeing what we are. Sea is too rough for smaller boats, and the larger tour boats can't fit in most of the caves. You know who had a bad day? The kayakers. Those poor folks were just getting pulled through the swell by a motor boat looking like a bunch of seasick kindergarten kids tied together so no one gets lost at the zoo. We waved. They couldn't wave back because they were hanging on for dear life. We look back at the two ladies who have the little boy on our tour and he is taking a nap. We are rocking through rain and waves and Poseidon's wrath and this little dude is sleeping through it. What a boss. Long story short. Take this tour. Confirm your reservation. Put your phones/cameras down and interact with the guide. Great time.

Reservamos un tour privado y nos dijeron que nos podían bajar en la playa de la cueva de Benagil pagamos la barca y una vez allí nos dijeron q no se podía. Para colmo se acabo la hora del tour y no nos dijeron nada y seguimos menos de media hora más y quisieron conbras 200€ más

Sehr empfehlenswert. Die lange Tour war sehr beeindruckend und hat mit dem kleinen Boot, das in die Höhlen fahren kann, viel Spaß gemacht.

Echte aanrader! Met stabiele boten de grotten ontdekken. De bestuurders van de boten zijn ongelooflijk vaardig met het naar binnen varen van de grotten. Op het juiste moment met de juiste golf naar binnen! Spectaculair! Tijdens de tocht wordt verteld over de grotten en de omgeving en krijg je tips waar je lopend kan komen. Neem de trip van anderhalf uur zodat je het mooiste strand van Portugal (of de wereld....) Kan zien. Goed in de gaten houden dat je niet met vloed gaat. Dan kan je niet alle grotten in. Ook met te hoge golven zijn er beperkingen.

Aanrader dit. We hebben vandaag de tocht van 1,5 uur gedaan. Op de heenweg ga je langs en in alle grotten. We hadden gids die goed Engels sprak en veel wist te vertellen.. Boot was kleinschalig met zijn 6-en op de boot. Op de terugweg gaf de boot full speed en mochten kinderen ook zelf varen dat was een beleving op zich was. Prijs was €30 vanaf 11 jaar en €25 tot die leeftijd.

Inolvidable viajes a las grutas hasta Benagil. Por 25€ haces un viaje por todas las grutas de la costa. Un poco pesado ya que se visitan mas de 20 grutas, hasta llegar a las últimas que son las que merecen la pena. El recorrido dura 1 hora

Really efficient and does exactly what it says on the tin. Great fun out on the water and as far into the caves the boat operators can bring you. Really enjoyable great value for money highly recommended.

Amazing. One should definitely walk along the wooden “promenade” and go down to explore the caves. Walking touring is a different experience compared to water boat tours.

Durant les vacances de février. Un peu déçu du prix pas le choix comme l’agence a le monopole de l’excursion. Compter 25 euros pour celle de 1h et 30€ pour celle de 1h30. Nous n’avons pas été déçu le guide a été très sympathique. Et de beaux paysages avec un soleil brillant au rendez vous !

A great way to see the caves by boat. Our captain took us I side some very small spaces. Much more exhilarating than I expected.

The cliffs were gorgeous. We took the 10am boat trip and there was very little activity. Not as beautiful or varied in landscape as Lagos, but there was very few people and we were on a 6m boat for 1.5 hours, which provided for a more intimate experience with nature. Cons: I wish the guide would have spoken better English; he had a thick accent, but it was adequate to learn the names of the caves and answer our questions. Note: The email will direct you to GPS coordinates in a church parking lot because that's the best place to park, rather than being where the ticket booth is.
