Lovely hotel very quiet, the food was excellent not a big menu but everything fresh, it is set in the top of a cliff which has spectacular views. They had a slight problem with the electric while we were there so we had no air con, but overall a lovely hotel.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. The room was fantastic as well. Food was good too. The staff was mixed in terms of service. Sometimes helpful somethings not at all.

Absolutely beautiful location room was very nice but the kitchen and evening staff are a total mess don’t eat there we waited 2 + hours only to be told they were out of two of the four things we ordered total circus...

A great location beautiful views and ideal place for taking walks along the coast. It is about 30 minutes walk from the centre or a 6 minute taxi ride.Lots of choices for vegetarians and vegans. Absolutely loved our time here my only little criticism would be breakfast choices were the same every day. The breakfast staff were a little slow at serving guests, even when there were just a few. Waiting for a coffee or egg would take over 10mins to arrive.

The location is beautiful but the whole stay was disappointing with too many things to list that went wrong. However, the hotel was just about to close for refurbishment and, although that doesnt account for all the problems, we have been offered a free night as compensation when they re-open. We have been told our expectations will be exceeded so, to be fair to the hotel who are trying to put things right, we hope to give a good review next March.

Nice location, View & Room. The AC was not working in our room and the extractor fan from the kitchen below was excessively noisy but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay

Lovely hotel with helpful staff and beautiful cliffside views. Dinner was pricey (I guess to be expected at a nice hotel?).

Tolles Hotel, sehr ruhig, klasse Aussicht, bequeme Betten (Zimmer mit Meerblick und ganz außen). Tolles Restaurant, feine Auswahl an Weinen. Sollte man erfragen. Aber jeder findet was.

STAY AWAY. NOT A BOUTIQUE HOTEL! This place is from the 80s and is nowhere close to a boutique hotel. This is a normal 3 Star Hotel with old furniture, bad and unfriendly service. Location is ok, outside of main Lagos city but has a nice view. Heavily overpriced for what you get: old rooms with furniture from the 80s, small bathroom with overflowing water when you shower, cheap and bad quality breakfast, terrible customer care and unfriendly or non-existing management. When we arrived, there was no help with our luggage neither did anyone open the door to welcome us. Our room had old dark furniture and the mattress on the bed was saggy, although they state it was renovated. The Spa and treatment is in the basement of the hotel and probably hasn’t been renovated since the 17th century. We found it a bit scary when we went down in the evening and walked through the dark hallway to get to an even darker and unrelaxing area which they call “Spa”. The breakfast is similar to when you get in a cheap 1 Star hotel, same cheap cheeses and sausages and not even fresh juices. Tee is self service! - as we were told multiple times. We spent four days in this hotel and asked the stuff on the first day whether we could change our reservation and move out on the second night. They didn’t let us out as we had a non-refundable booking. We even offered to pay the difference to the price, but they seemed to enjoy being the most customer UNFRIENDLY hotel and kept us as their unhappy guests. We will never again stay in this hotel and do not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice boutique hotel and is not 80+ years old.

We did a trip along Algarve and booked 6 different boutique hotels. Vivenda Miranda was the most expensive and the worst. While the other hotels all deserved the name boutique hotel and treated their guests and their property very lovable, Vivenda Miranda was just 4 wasted days for us. This place has seen better times. Nowadays it’s just an old, unloving place, with no attention to details or to the individual guest. It looks like a place where my grandparents could have spent their holidays 40 years ago and since then, nothing has changed. It’s heavily overpriced compared to other Boutique hotels, you get basically nothing for your money but the sea view (which is really the only good thing). The hotel management seems to just lay back and relax because of this single advantage. - arrival/departure: no help with the luggage, we had to climb the stairs with heavy suitcases - rooms: they said they have recently redecorated their rooms but they have either awful taste or everything is still from the 80’s. The mattress was old, we had heavy dark wood furniture in our room, the bath room offered not enough space for two people, floor was flooded after showering, no kettle or coffee machine in the room etc - Spa: sauna and spa area is rotten, not relaxing at all. sauna needs to be pre-heated per demand, you have to ask and wait for an hour to get a hot sauna. I did not feel relaxed after visiting this old musty cellar spa. - Food: Breakfast was served in a random buffet, not even the jam or cheese seemed to be fresh, all food seemed to be cheap supermarket food instead of regional products; we even had to ask to sit outside in the sun; restaurant prices are exorbitant high! Already on the day of our arrival, we kindly asked the staff to let us leave the hotel and get a refund for the remaining days because we felt like locked in an outdated senior home and we were clearly the wrong target group for this kind of hotel. There was also a construction work going on next to our room which was very noisy. They offered us several other rooms but this was not a solution for us, we just wanted to leave. They should just have left two very unhappy customers out of their hotel to proof customer obsession. (We even offered to pay the difference between non refundable and refundable room just to get out). Not even the manager showed up although requested several times. They just did not care. We tried to stay outside of the hotel as much as possible.

Beautiful location and easy access to Lagos and the Algarve coastline. The gardens are pretty and vistas over the beach are inspiring. Excellent breakfast spread with the best fresh fruits and granola. The spa treatments are perfect. Our suite was well appointed.

The grounds were lovely. While the view in our deluxe sweet wasn’t quite as we had hoped, the common area/lawn/pool more than made up for it. Food was excellent (dinner menu in particular), and while the breakfast was light, it was a refreshing variety.

Absolutely gorgeous spot for a relaxing getaway. Easy to get to by car, and very close to Lagos central (less than 5 min drive). Within walking distance of Ponte do Piedade, which is breathtaking. A 5 minute walk (by the garden pathway) the other direction to Praia Canavial which is a lovely beach. Excellent breakfast to start the day and truly lovely staff. Lovely clean pool and lounge area. Highly recommended for a couples trip.

Although the hotel is located in a beautiful spot, it is difficult to find and it’s well off the beaten track. We couldn’t find the hotel on arrival and calling at the neighboring Wellness hotel to ask directions resulted in a crazy “we have no idea where vivenda Miranda is”. Parking is at a premium but mostly there’s a certain malaise among the staff. So many warmed to us but relayed HR issues that caused them all to fear for their jobs especially as all tips go to the hotel not them. The owner we saw on several occasions but he chose to avoid any words of welcome. There was only one English Channel available “CNBC!” On the tv in their premium room! The ac froze up daily so to wrap up. Great potential but suffers from a fawlty towers syndrome. Did I forget the neighbors barking dog kudjo? Barked for 24 hours a day. To sum up nice place but has zero personality for the $$$ paid.

Car parking for just a few vehicles, congested road outside. Building works in progress for meeting rooms which will exacerbate parking. Breakfast service was poor and range of food hidden because you are not offered hot food but you learn it is available if you ask. Room OK. Tired hotel. Not best value.

Zimmer 9 warscheinlich neu renoviert. Schönes großes Bad.

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it very much. Its a little far from the center of town, so we didnt dine out as wed expected to. We enjoyed the food at the hotel so much, though, that we didnt mind. its a little walk down to the public beach, but certainly manageable if youre reasonably fit. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Spa services were lovely.

This hotel serves only very nice rather pricey dinners. Though delicious a simpler optional menu would not as well as a bar. It may be early in the season but the restaurant and cocktail service was not great. Empty glasses and plates remained out by the pool all day...unexpected for a hotel of this caliber.

After almost two weeks of touring Spain and Portugal we looked forward to our down time in lagos. The setting of the hotel is postcard beautiful with the gardens and lawn on a cliff overlooking the ocean. We thought the staff was lovely and caring. My criticisms were there were no spa services on either Sun or Mon which I was so looking forward to and had never encountered services not being available seven days a week. Our room was the only one on our wing that had the old sliding door so,we were unable to have ventilation at night (the other rooms had French doors with shutters)I felt this was intentional due to the fact that we had booked at a reduced rate and they seemed to cater to their almost exclusively German repeat patrons.I might go back but with the idea that we would book room number six or seven.
