Very nice micro brewery. The people are so friendly and helpful. I got a nice tour with lots of information. Hope I can come back one day.

"Quinta dos Avos" What fabulous find, this place has so much Portuguese character & charm. Small traditional style cafe, selling hand made biscuits, cakes, bread, coffee, hot chocolate etc, it is also home of the Marafada brewery which offers a superb range of hand crafted ales. There is also a small and interesting museum attached to the rear of premises featuring Portuguese transport & retail memorabilia (open Saturday's only) From an ale perspective (as a beer drinker of 40 years) in my opinion this is probably one of the best micro breweries (if not the best) in Portugal. This place is easily missed so if like me, you like your beers it is well worth a visit. (English, American & Algarve style IPA's, wheat beer, stout, sweet potatoe beer & they also make a specialist lager too, including other changing brews) I can't recommend this place highly enough. During the week it's not too busy, but be warned, it can get very busy on Sundays!
