Pas op voor deze verhuurder, deze geeft aan dat je gratis extra's krijgt, alleen laten ze je de extra's wel betalen. Ze zeggen achteraf dat je er voor getekend hebt. De tussenpersoon Sunny-Cars doet er ook niets aan en zijn daardoor medeplichtig aan dit gedrag.

Bonjour, nous avions réservé le 15 Juillet 2018 pour le 16 Juillet 2018 à 10H une voiture de location via thrifty pour une durée de 15 jours pour un montant de 443.72 euros que nous devions récupérer à l'aéroport de Faro. Nous nous sommes donc rendu le 16 juillet vers 11H dans votre agence et n'ayant pas une carte de crédit mais de débit l'accès au retrait du véhicule nous à été refusé bien que nous ayons déjà réglé via internet .L'hotesse qui s'est "occupé" de nous(désagréable et aucun effort pour se faire comprendre en français ou en anglais) nous demandait de réglé la somme de 488.51 Euros en plus si nous voulions avoir la voiture!!!une véritable honte !!! (nous souhaitions louer une voiture pas l'acheter ....)et aucun recourt possible sur place!!!nous nous sommes donc fait prélever la somme de 443.72 € pour un véhicule que nous n'avons même pas pu voir!!! Une véritable arnaque!!!!

Be Careful! You rent a car for a week, for a low price. When you arrive, they want to book € 3100,- as a deposit from your credit card. If you cannot do it. They sell you an insurance package for double the amount of the rental price. It is Betraying.

Thrifty and Hertz seem to be the same thing here. They blocked 1.500 € from my credit card for 3 days AFTER I returned the car (that I rented for only 2 days). Thus, for 5 days I was unable to used my credit card and my vacation got limited to whatever I had in mu pocket. That was wrongful and unnecessary.

A éviter absolument Personnel désagréable au possible Attention carte de débit refusé sauf si vous prenez une assurance à 86€. Faite bien le tour du véhicule avec la personne à la tablette ce qui fera passer deux poques à une dizaine qui aurait sûrement été facturé.

Time to give a positive review where it's due. Collected car at 9pm at night. Walking distance to car rental buildings so this was great. Note well, Hertz is the actual provider for Thrifty at Faro airport. Booked a Mercedes Vito and was given a three year old one which appeared to do the job. Was offered a newer automatic one but another EUR100 to pay - declined their offer. Paid for tolls and fuel-tank upfront (with fuel surchage to be refunded after). Noticed that the assistant had pictures on computer of pre-existing bodywork damage to van. Credit card blocked with the usual amounts as per rental agreement. Collection system on the whole was excellent with minimal fuss and paperwork to take. In and out within fifteen minutes, I'd say. Following morning, noticed the extent of the minor bodywork damage to the van in various places. Was worried that I may have to explain upon return but hoped their pictures would be comprehensive on that front. Upon returning the vehicle, the assistant checked the van over, checked fuel levels and confirmed everything ok. No explanation for pre-existing bodywork damaged required. Phew. Just checked my credit card statement and can confirmed I have NOT been screwed over with follow-on charges either. So in conclusion, Thrifty are close to airport, they have a good range of vehicles, the staff are friendly, they were efficient and I DIDN'T get shafted with subsequent charges. As a frequent traveller to Faro in need of car/van hire, they will be my first port of call. Unless they start putting up their prices of course.... Happy to recommend. ps. Just knocking off the one star as I felt that in terms of customer relations, you should always offer the best stock you have available (at nil cost to them). You'd always want a customer to feel like they've got a great deal, in order for them to want to return to you in future. Maybe Hertz/Thrifty could fine-tune that aspect of customer services.

Voiture réservée avec BSP auto 5 mois avant le voyage. Une fois sur place je présente ma carte de débit Visa qui a servi à la réservation et là on me dit que ma carte n est pas de crédit et que les seules options qui se présentent à moi sont: soit régler 2700€ qui me seront rendus d ici 1 mois; soit payer la garantie de 400€ ( la plus basse) Et tout cela a 22h heure française. Après longue discussion, pas eu le choix que de régler l assurance en plus Réclamation faite auprès de bsp qui m a remboursé la garantie Bref attention

Über billiger-mietwagen - car del mar an Thrifty vermittelt worden. Eine Thrifty Station war in Faro (Portugal) nicht zu finden. Schliesslich erfahren, daß die durch Hertz vertreten werden. Dort wurde ich unter Druck gesetzt 1.250 Euro Kaution für einen Kleinwagen zu hinterlegen (obwohl ich Vollkasko gebucht hatte). Die Station sollte zur Rückgabe um 6 Uhr öffnen (war schon recht knapp wegen des Abfluges). Um 6 Uhr trudelten ein paar verschlafene Mitarbeiter ein. Der Schalter war noch nicht aufgebaut, die Rechner nicht hochgefahren. Erste Amtshandlung der Mitarbeiterin (bevor Kunden bedient wurden): Kaffee kochen. Gegen 6:20 war alles betriebsbereit und es konnte losgehen. Bis ich schliesslich das "ok" erhielt, daß der Wagen schadenfrei ist (was ich unbedingt haben wollte wegen der Kautioin), war es 6:30 und es wurde knapp bis zum Abflug. Lieber ein paar Euro mehr und einen vernünftigen Vermieter suchen. Letzes Mal mit Eurocar war alles super!

Found out by phoning up that thrifty is hertz, huge queue wondering round trying to the the desk, no where do they say it's through hertz. Appalling start to a holiday

Worst experience ever. Lots of hidden fees that they don't tell you upfront and you have to pay extra for them. This is actually the Hertz company. There is no Thrifty company at the airport, but they are not telling you this anywhere when booking the car, you have to find out for yourself by googling it. Aside from the rental price that you pay they also charge you extra hidden fees for the "tyres fee" and the "road assistance fee" and the "highway toll fee". So you endup paying a lot more than the advertised price. They also wanted me to pay almost 2000euros(not even kidding) for the deposit of a 2 day rental. I told them I want to rent the car not buy it :) The amount is absurd. If you don't want to have the money blocked for 10 days(normal time frame for most banks) then you have to pay 40euro a day extra for some kind of insurance. Again, absurd amount of money. After I agreed to paid the insurance they also blocked the money for the deposit by mistake. The inconvenience was colossal and I never heard an apology from them. When I returned the car I told them I want my insurance money back since they took the deposit anyway, but they refused. As I said, worse experience ever.

It is actually Hertz rental associate. The security deposit for renting a car with them is 1705€ and if you want to not have such a huge amount of money blocked for the entire vacation you have to pay full insurance for the rental period ( up to 38€ per day). I purchased the full insurance, because my credit card denied such a big amount to be blocked, and when I received the invoice, besides the full insurance also the security deposit was charged on the card I payed online for the car. They guaranteed me that the money for security deposit was a mistake and will be returned the same day (Saturday) but the money were blocked for the entire rental period and still not in my account at the moment of leaving Portugal.

Booked with Dollar and had to ask to find out they were based at Hertz along with Thrifty. Over 2 hours waiting for a pre-booked car and then the car they allocated wasn't there. Another 20 minutes wait before demanding another car - unwashed and covered in dust. 3 hour flight to get to Faro and another 3 hours to leave the airport. Wouldn't recommend Dollar.

I booked a Thrifty car on the broker website Holiday Autos and then found out this was actually a Hertz car from the Hertz office at the airport. I had to wait one hour-and-a-half to get served at the pick up. The car had no boot luggage cover so it was unsafe to leave anything in the car. I wanted to add a zero excess full insurance policy and they don't offer any insurance policy with an excess under 75 euros. Very bad experience of car hire. I don't recommend.

HERTZ et thrifty à fuir!grosse arnaque à l'assurance.. on vous force la main pour une assurance tous risques..on vous demande 1200€ de caution si vous refusez, comme par hasard ma CB ne passe pas..tiens donc, alors que mon plafond est largement au dessus!Il est arrivé la même chose à un ami qui disposait d'un plafond de 5000€... En plus on me donne une Fiat horrible! La prochaine fois je vais chez europcar, avec eux j'ai jamais eu de soucis..
