Good quality hotel. Rooms big and comfortable. Right next to the beach. There was some building work going on meaning the exit from poolside to beach should have been closed, but we were able to get through. Recommend a stay here.

I have stayed here a few times now and really rate this hotel. It's clean, friendly and has great comfortable rooms with a great bar and pool. Perfect for a relaxing getaway and the excellent reception staff will even help organise taxis to the golf course for you.

Com uma relação preço-qualidade imbatível, tem uma localização ideal frente à praia de Vilamoura e a 200 metros da marina. O quarto superior com vista para mar acaba por ser um apartamento T0 com cozinha independente, pequena mas bem equipada (esta cozinha é a única divisão que não tem o ar moderno dos quartos e restantes espaços totalmente remodelados).
O SPA, piscinas exteriores e interior e ainda o parque infantil com escorregas de água são pontos fortes.
Limpeza irrepreensível, bom pequeno almoço, diversões noturnas em muitas noites.

Excellent location, clean facilities. Breakfast buffet isn't always fully serviced, had to wait on bread and fruit some mornings. Extra tea cups are needed by the machines as staff clear them off tables when you're finished but there aren't any clean ones,have to take them off other tables. Gym is tiny and floor needs a good sweep. Also the A/C in the gym is never on and it's ridiculously hot in there. Lovely pools outside, nice that the children's pool and playground is separate. Would stay again for sure.

Comer no restaurante do hotel é caro e a comida podia ter bem mais qualidade. A animação é muito pobre e desorganizada. Não haver animação ao Sábado de fim de semana prolongado época alta é no minimo estranho.

Visited for the first time in the last week of March. Check in was very good and we were in our room within 5 minutes. The location near the marina is excellent and just a few minutes walk from all bars and restaurants. The beach is also only a 30 seconds walk, which it very clean with golden sand.
The hotel was fairly quiet when we stayed so no need to wait for a table at breakfast. We used the indoor pool, gym and Spa which were all good. The bar had entertainment on every other day, not our thing but seemed ok.
We visited the adjoining coffee shop several times and staff were nice.
The room its self was good, included a mini fridge and USB charging points which was a bonus.
We thought our stay was excellent value for money being just before the high season starts. We would not hesitate to go back again.

Great location. Nice inside pool kids like it. Staying here at a moment, for a second time no problem with anything cleanliness great breakfast great everything's cool.. Relax and enjoy! Massage is OK not the very best I had but OK for 4 star hotel. Very sarcastic front desc this time don't know what they deal Is, but not nicest people I seen In vila gale franchise as I been staying in vila gale cero alagoe and vila gale marina before nicest front descs there and even first time in Ampalius they where sweat hearts around here, but this time it is something I did not expect.

Hotel de 4 estrelas com grandes dimensões a roçar a praia. Bem localizado e a sofrer obras de melhoramento, nomeadamente uma piscina para criancas com escorregas. A visitar no verão!

Sou cliente habitual e devo confessar que me surpreendi com as mudanças. Os novos quartos estão espetaculares, o serviço de pequeno-almoço está muito melhor e os colaboradores estão simpáticos como sempre.

Rooms were clean, and beds made daily, breakfast had everything you would expect, and plenty of it. The bar was well stocked, and all staff were very friendly.
Pools, and sauna were clean, and nicely maintained.
The area at the rear of the hotel is under redevelopment, and the plans look nice.
I look forward to returning.

La situation de l hotel est bonne l hotel est confortable le petit dejeuner est copieux mais en manque d imagination on se demande s ils ont un chef car au bout d une semaine c est toujours le meme petit dejeuner et nous nous sommes restés 11 jours .Nous avons testé le restaurant Italien de l hotel qui n a que le nom.l hotel pourrait mettre à la disposition des vélos pour aller se ballader en dehors de la marina car les locations de voiture sont assez honereuses surtout si vous prenez sans franchise c est du simple au double chez SIXT sans cela c est 900 Euros de franchises.Il est désolant qu à l hotel personne ne parle Français pour un 4 étoiles cela n est pas correct il ne sort de leur bouche only english.Pèriode de vacances du 24122018 au 04012019 nous avions une suite senior pour 4 personnes aux alentours de 170 euros par jour.Pour le reveillon du 31 Décembre c est nimporte quoi l hotel organise une soirée ou les gens de l hotel ne peuvent meme pas reserver on ne leur propose meme pas car les reservations se font longtemps a l avance ils ne gardent meme pas une place aux gens qui resident dans l hotel à ce moment la on se sent de trop car l hotel est envahie et cela devient la cohue une demi heure d attente pour le petit dejeuner.Le personnel n est pas encadré à cette pèriode cela se ressent d une façon generale c est dommage car l hotel est bien equipé surtout la chambre.C est une impression un peu mitigée qui ressort de tout cela.

Adorei o revellion no Ampalius , a segunda de muitas .fantástica a ideia de ter aquele monumento “Mercedes “ na recepção.
Foi um jantar excepcional e com grande qualidade .

Stayed 20th to 30th Dec. Very very quiet this year until 29th when a surge of mainly Portuguese families booked in for the New Year. Also football team from 2nd Division. Weather 19 degrees. Special shout out to Natalia the waitress in the restuarant, the young trainee waiter and the elderly waiter who has been there for as long as we have been visiting. The new coffee shop serves proper size cups of tea and the young lady serving is very friendly. Always a warm welcome at this hotel by all .

No primeiro dia muito barulho as 8h da manha no andar de cima andaram em trabalhos. Reclamamos e nada foi resolvido.
Ficamos num quarto superior de frente pro mar e muito bom e limpo. As camareiras sao simpaticas mais o recepcionista muito mau humorado. No cafe da manha tivemos a espera 10 minutos na fila para tomar cafe. Achei isso o cumulo. Ja fui a muitos hoteis mesmo em ferias nunca tive esse problema. A piscina interna é boa

Excellent hotel and location, newley renovated. I have stayed here a number of times and always enjoy. The breakfast has a wide choice but I never find anything I like so tend to just have breakfast out on some days.

Sur la pente descendante. Les chambres sont à rafraîchir (325). Hôtel bruyant (portes claquent, mobilier tiré et poussé). Literie OK. Restaurant très bien, personnel OK, spa OK et je recommande Diana pour les massages corps. Bref rapport qualité prix bien.

Overall pretty good, but not 4 star... Probably closer to 3... Definitely showing it's age. Kid play area and games room are embarrassingly bad. Breakfast is decent. Room a/c was flakey. Noise from adjacent bar was a problem, especially with small children.

Excellent location and very nice hotel with superior room with balcony on the sea front. Beautiful. Only quibble 3 BBQ's in a week with restaurant closed. Not everyone likes BBQ. Lovely grounds and pools.

A localização é excelente. A dois passos da praia e muito perto da movimentada marina de Vilamoura. Os quartos são bons, embora nem todos tenham varanda. Os funcionários são simpáticos e profissionais. As refeições são muito boas e existem noites temáticas. O hotel tem parque gratuito o que, devido à excelente localização, faz com que o carro nem seja necessário.

Points positifs: Personnel avenant. La plage au pied de lhôtel. Hôtel propre. Petit déjeuner et dîner copieux. Très belle marina et casino à proximité. Points négatifs : pratiquement pas danimations. Prix de 2 transats 35 € ou bien séloigner pour payer 17 €.

Lovely hotel in a prime location, catering staff excellent and friendly. Check in staff on reception not the best, queues at reception long and moved slowly. There's no communication with each other, so one member of staff say one thing and the other tells you another thing. When asking about information regarding our tour operator which should be at reception, (when they will be in to book trips etc) , reception had no clue, as their information is at the other end of the hotel in a room. (we found this out from our tour operator who we met by chance).
Top tip get your towels out early as everyone else does and you'll be lucky to find a sunlouger after 11:30!
Room kept lovely and clean throughout our stay, housekeeping were fantastic and efficient.

The hotel is being renewed. It was fantastic, now is wonderful! The front, west exterior side, is very nice. No more shops but a Beautiful restaurant and a brand new Cafe.

Very good hotel. Rooms big and comfortable with WiFi and a/c. Beds quite small. Room Cleanness good. Breakfast good with a lot of choices. Avoid peak hours to have your breakfast calmly. Waiters are friendly. Pool is good option if you have children. Beach in front of the hotel is nice option too.

Hotel muito bem localizado, fica bastante próximo da praia. Pode-se ir a pé até Quarteira e também até à marina de Vilamoura que fica bem perto. Tem o casino a poucas dezenas de metros. Tem estacionamento para os clientes gratuito. A vista deste hotel é muito bonita, para a praia e zona costeira.

Lovely hotel in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the marina. Standard room with twin beds was spacious enough for 2 men with golf bags. Wardrobe was ok but lacking in clothes hangers. Breakfast has plenty of choice with cereal, continental and full English if preferred. The only complaint is they use cocktail sausages that are tiny instead of proper sausages. They have an outdoor pool that was very cold ( to be fair it was February ) There is a health suite with a small indoor swimming pool and a gym plus a sauna and steam room for use up to 8pm. There is a safe in your room that is charged at €2.5 euros per day. Overall a good hotel with 24hr reception and located perfectly for exploring the Villamora area.

On the second floor as we speak sitting in my bedroom to the sound diggers breaking earth and kango drill crunching stone and the general sound of a building site. Escape to the pool for peace..no luck as this too is faced with another building site! Cold room leaves it totally unwelcoming!

Not informed of construction work outside. Room very dated, beds that old they creaked. Mini bar 2 bottles of water. Safety Issue shower over bath no hand rail. Found a leaflet hidden that a kettle could be provided. Seems to be the overall issue with Vilamoura tired tired hotels charging top rates with the attitude anything wil do.

Loved the Vila Gale. It's a nice time of year to be in Vilamoura, not too hot or cold. Hotel was very good,warm friendly staff who couldn't be more helpful. Great views from our balcony. Even the work going on down at the esplanade was not a problem.

Sea view superior room. Very spacious. Comfortable beds. Busy hotel. A Mecca for golfers so lots of large groups of mainly men. Two swimming pools. Sometimes quite busy around the pool with large groups of beer drinkers! Breakfast ok, busy, but plenty of tables. Short walk to marina. Right opposite the beach.

The hotel has a fantastic location,rooms were very spacious even having a kitchen with cooker and large fridge and cleaned daily,great pool area and terrace.We were disappointed that the rooms did not have an iron and ironing board.No staff member asked if we were having an enjoyable time.

Arrivés à Faro, l’hôtesse nous indique le bus n° 9,mais ne dis pas qu'il y a 2 bus n° 9.A l’hôtel ,personne ne parle le Français,et, personne pour rentre nos bagages,nous avons attendus 4 heures pour obtenir les clés de notre chambre après avoir payé un supplément de 137.70 € pour vue sur mer, alors que nous avions réservé avec vue sur mer,le gérant me donne 10% de réduction, mais sur la facture il n'y à que 5 %.
La nourriture TOUJOURS froide, et le cuisinier nous explique qu'il a un problème de micro-ondes
Pour un hôtel qui se dit 4 étoiles, je trouve cela quand même beaucoup .
Nous avons reçu nos heures de retour que la veille à 21 H00.
Nous devions être prêt pour 07H10 et le bus arrive à 7H40.

OVERALL our stay was really nice and we’d definitely return.Unfortunately check in was slow and we didn’t get into our room until 3pm and we had a lot of waiting around.Once in our room there was an additional bed so we immediately informed reception to take it away as space was limited. We requested again.. however gave up and put up with it during our entire stay.Other than this the hotel was located right on the beach and close to amenities. Our room was good and staff were lovely so no other complaints!

4th visit to this hotel for us - we love it’s position, room size, new bathroom/walk-in shower, comfort, etc. Love the new pool and revamp of the outside areas, no bed bagging round the pool, though we still prefer the beach. Will be better when the new walk way on the beachfront is finished- bit noisy at times.

A rather disappointing stay.
In fact, the room wasn’t even as good as the airport hotel we stayed at in Stansted, which is embarrassing given this is supposed to be 4 star.
The room was small and cramped. The twin beds were pushed together like a double bed, fortunately I was staying with family but that would be rather awkward if you stayed with friends.
There was no kettle provided but was available on request and the safe was one you had to rent.
Breakfast was highly unorganised, the food counters were laid out in such a way that people were shoving past each other to get to places rather than encouraging a flow system.
The breakfast wasn’t very high quality, the bacon wasn’t great and was very chewy as were the sausages.
Another annoyance was the unbearably loud music played by the hotel opposite, if you wanted to sit on the balcony and eat lunch at midday you can’t on account of this awful thudding clubbing music. This music lasts from around 2pm to 7pm and is so loud you can’t even escape indoors from it.
On the positive, the bathroom was nice and you had some stunning sunsets.
Generally speaking; I’ve stayed at better Travelodges than this, and if you think you’re going to get a 4 star room, you’re likely mistaken.

Great hotel by the beach. The place is really nice, clean and the staff is very helpful. Complementary breakfast was huge and varied. 2 pools and 2 restaurants as well.
The only BIG caveat is the parking which is lacking. The paid indoor parking is very small and was fully booked during our stay. The free outdoor parking was also overflowing (people parked every which way) so we had to stay in the metered lot across the street which is in effect from 9am to midnight - get yourself some coins.

El primer día tubimos un pequeño problema con la habitación, lo resolvieron rápidamente y nos cambiaron en 30 minutos, gracias al equipo de Recepción por la implicación y la pronta subsanacion del problema.
El Hotel es muy tranquilo y bonito, pegado al mar, muy limpio, tiene tres piscinas una de ellas más pequeña con toboganes para los más pequeños, la comida es estupenda.
Nos lo hemos pasado muy bien.
Gracias en conjunto a todo el equipo del Hotel.

Bel emplacement et très belle vue .Je viens pour la 4eme fois depuis 2012 .Hotel en chute libre pour la nourriture et pour le niveau du personnel au restaurant:plusieurs d'entre eux ne comprennent pas l' anglais ,mais uniquement le portugais.Desolant pour un 4 étoiles. Le responsable du restaurant me paraît être dépassé.Les animations le soir sont également decevante.Je suis déçue et ne suis pas sure de revenir

Pour un hôtel de ce genre on s'attendait à plus de propreté. Chambre un peu petit, salle de bain également. Le seul point positif c'est le restaurant buffet avec beaucoup de choix. Par contre dommage que la piscine fermé aussi tôt, pas trop le temps d'en profiter du coup.

I feel that this hotel could easily improve by just a few small adjustments. The evening entertainment was primarily for children but the hotel was mainly adult. Tivoli Purobeach which is owned by a neighbouring hotel was extremely noisy every day between 3pm and 7pm and should be made to reduce their volume levels as it's unfair that the hotel we stayed in was victim to club style noise not inflicted by our hotel. The staff were really lovely especially on reception and in the cafe bar. The outside area was really nice and the rooms were very clean.

The hotel has been refurbished since our last stay in 2017. Rooms are stylish and our junior suite had a small kitchen and dining table although no microwave, which may have been handy if travelling with babies or small children. A kettle is available, just ask. There is now a second swimming pool as well as a new separate kids pool with several slides and although we were there in peak season, there always seemed to e plenty of sunbeds. Towels are available from the spa. A coffee shop and an Italian restaurant has also been added. Both of these were worth a visit. Nice pastries, cakes, savoury treats and a selection of coffee, ideal for snacks or an alternative breakfast. We had a lovely meal at the Italian and it was very reasonably priced, compared to those in the marina. The hotel is very clean and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Its proximity to the beach is a bonus too. We didnt use the hotel restaurant for dinner so cant comment on that. Breakfast was plentiful and pleasant. The bar area didnt appear to be used that much and we didnt feel drawn to use it due to a lack of atmosphere. Overall, a lovely hotel in a great location just a 5 min walk to marina. We would definitely consider it again, if the price was right, for future visits.

Hotel is situated near the beach if your unlucky to be allocated a room above the main entrance then take some ear muffs as the music from the hotel next door is on all day and night. Some rooms need refurbishment. Rooms facing the beach are bigger with a kitchenette and fridge. Entertainment is very poor day and night, food is average, buffet style breakfast and evening meals, on the occasional nights a barbecue meal is served outside, nice cafe and pizza bar on site very reasonably priced, small main pool and kids pool, hotel supplies beach towels daily, Rooms are cleaned every day.

The hotel was a bit colourless and could do with a brighter decor. A kettle in the room would also have been nice. The amenities were good and the breakfast was also varied. The price was reasonable for the location of the hotel and we would come back to this hotel again.

O pequeno almoço é servido até às 10h30 impreterivelmente, a essa hora levantam tudo mesmo que haja hóspedes ainda a terminar a refeição; grande variedade, mas a qualidade não é fantástica. Very nice in general lost the 4th star as breakfast was disappointing just trying to get a coffee out of the useless self service machines took an age. Need staff to be on there game for a buffet breakfast to many things left empty. Pool and surrounding area are great to unwind until the loud music starts from a pool party venue over the road.

Dependendo de quem te atende é simpático e eficiente. Localização perfeita, a comida dos buffets especiais poderia ter uma qualidade melhor, já que os preços são um pouco altos. O café da manhã em geral está muito bem. As atrações para crianças são boas mas falta algo para adultos, como um pouco de música ao vivo para curtir junto ao bar nas noites lindas e agradáveis de Vilamoura.

Very family friendly hotel with helpful staff. Head for a senior suite on two levels if you can extend to this as it has 2 en suite bedrooms and a big lounge. Room also has great view over Marina and the beach. The hotel is beginning to show its age and the breakfast offering is very average and only gets worse the longer you stay. The food and drink outlets around the hotel are tremendous and offer everything from traditional seafood cooked fresh to lamb balti and a garlic naan. Access to the extensive golf on offer is also great.

Good value for money. We weren't sure it was going to a good choice due to the price being low. So we only booked one night. But we stayed for the whole trip. Room had an unusual feature, a kitchen. Small but more than ample. Balcony had good views too.
The indoor pool and water fountains were brilliant. Sauna and steam rooms nice and clean.
Only had buffet breakfast here but they were all very good and prosecco for a Buck's Fizz was a nice addition to the extensive choice. The cappuccino was superb considering it was from a self service machine.
Staff all friendly. Place is a little tired in places but overall excellent value and location.
We hired bikes and they came to the hotel with them and had a good day out on them.

Just got back from a 5 night stay on 17th November. perfect location on the beach 5 mins from the marina. nice big rooms . Doing some maintenance work on the top floors which they didn't tell us about some noise .but would stay here again in the future .

Hotel right on the beach. 5 minute stroll to the Marina. Room was awsome with a beautiful sea view. Immaculately cleaned every day.
Breakfast buffet was a great start to the day and the spa facilities were fantastic.
i Could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
The only thing i would say is that when you book ask for a sea view because there are rooms without and i would have been disappointed if i had been in one of those.

Bon hôtel dans lensemble, bien situé proche de la marina.Restaurant / buffet: très bien pour le petit déjeuner, mais le buffet du soir a un rapport qualité/prix très moyen.Les vestiaires de la piscine intérieure ne disposent pas de cabine pour se changer et les casiers ne sont pas nombreux, donc souvent occupés.

Absolutely amazing location ! Can't believe it isn't 5****, was an amazing pleasure to meet Porffirio Perdigao (Director) who made us feel very welcome , even paying for our drinks ! Also met a lovely gentleman Gulumo who sets up a little store selling unique hand crafted gifts , he was a great asset to the hotel ! I will definitely be returning there very soon !

I spent Christmas at the Ampalius Hotel, the room I had was very clean with a huge balcony with a sea view. The food was very good and the staff were absolutely brilliant particularly as I was spending the week on my own. I will certainly go back to the this hotel in future.

Amazing best hotel ever. The size of the rooms and the cleanliness of them are extraordinary. I will definitely go back again. However I have no idea why it is a 4* it should be a 5*

Hatten ein schön eingerichtetes großes Appartment mit Blick aufs Meer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bei Reklamationen wurde sofort reagiert und Abhilfe geschaffen. Das Zimmer, was man uns zuerst geben wollte, war kleiner als im Internet beschrieben. Nach Reklamation bekamen wir aber ein sehr geräumiges und schön eigerichtetes Appartment. Die Ausstattung war gut. Beim allgemeinen Zustand haben wir Punkte abgezogen, denn z.B. Dunstabzug und Herd hatten ein paar Macken oder auch in der Sauna war eine Dusche dauerhaft außer Betrieb. Am Anfang haben wir auch dichte Staubflocken unter einem Beistelltisch entdeckt, die nicht von Zimmerservice an nächsten Tag entfernt wurden. Nach Rekamation wurde aber sofort gereinigt und danach war nichts mehr zu beanstanden. Ansonsten ist das Hotel mit Innenpool incl 4 Wassermassageduschen, Whirlpool, Sauna und Sportraum auch für den Winterurlaub gut geeignet und liegt super. Entgegen der Beschreibung hatten wir gratis Wlan Zugang, allerdings war er auf dem Zimmer schwankend und häufig schwach, im Lobby- und Restaurantbereich aber gut. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und schon ab 6.00 Uhr geöffnet (bis 10.30 Uhr). Es gab viel englisches Publikum, auch viele Golfspieler. Der gratis Golf-Shuttle zu den 5 Plätzen im Ort war super.

Hotel was a bit dated but very well maintained. Rooms, although average size, were more than adequate for our needs. The big disappointment was the buffet breakfast. Very, very poor and no real time cooking as you get in Tenerife hotels. We ended up going out for breakfast in local restaurants. Entertainment was virtually non existent and the hotel lacked atmosphere. Would recommend the accommodation but give the food a big miss. Pity as staff were first class.

Great hotel, ideally located. The front rooms with large balcony are worth the extra €15 per night. Great breakfast - if a little frantic. Staff very helpful. Reception was generally overloaded but, if you get there at a quiet time, the staff were very helpful.The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Marina in Vilamoura and 10 - 15 minutes walk (on a bad road) from Quarteria - where there are some excellent restaurants. We will return, and I would recommend to anyone.

Wir waren mit dem Hotel sehr zufrieden. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war gerechtfertigt. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Morgenbuffet hatte eine grosse Auswahl, die Esswaren waren frisch. Die Lage ist perfekt, wenige Schritte von einem schönen Strand entfernt. 2-3 Minuten entfernt vom Hotel gibt es eine schöne Promenade, mit vielen Restaurants und Bars mit gutem Sound. Ich empfehle das Hotel weiter.

had everything i would expect of a 4-star hotel except wifi in the rooms (if you are a business traveler). however, as i was heading home i asked them to order a airport shuttle, not taxi. this did not happen and they ordered a "luxury taxi" (who falls for that anyway?) that ended up overcharging me by 40€! an airport shuttle cost 8-12€ and a normal taxi would be 20€. i was quite pissed but was late for my flight and did not have time to stand around and argue. i guess the hotel have an agreement with this taxi company making them both benefit from their unknowing customers. so, an advice, don't order transport from the hotel, go directly to the companies offering airport shuttles.

O hotel em si estava limpo. O staff era muito prestavel. O pequeno almoço tinha muitas variedades. O staff do Spa era excelente, sempre pronto a ajudar a e dar dicas do que poderia fazer. A localização do Hotel em Vilamoura e junto à praia é a seu grande favor. Voltarei tanto sozinha como em familia ou amigos
