Nice and clean. Great place to stay being away from the crowd near the water. To many Americans which I am but I flew across the pond to get away from them. I guess I was chasing the points to hard.

The hotel is in a great location close to good restaurants, nightlife and places to see.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful.

Aloof front desk staff who did not want to show any courtesy towards us. Had arrived after a 24 hour flight and no sleep. Had to request a map of Lisbon and told nothing about the town. Got into room and bellman didn’t even tell us key card had to be inserted to turn on air conditioning and power to lights in room. We finally went and found a housekeeper to help us.
Front desk staff failed to inform us that our room included breakfast. Requested extra pillows and towels that were not delivered until maybe further requests. Housekeeping never left clean shower caps and had to continually request them.
The hotel is very pretty but the staff is horrible.
I emailed the manager and attempted to communicate on the app continually and didn’t get a reply until we had left after three nights. When the manager did finally reply she insinuated I was lying and said her staff did none of those things. Why would 2 rooms of us go out to breakfast every morning if we knew breakfast was included.
Simply not the high rating Marriott is giving them. I receive better service at a Courtyard Marriott.
Would never recommend this hotel.

Die Lage ist wirklich toll, das man gleich loslaufen kann und mitten in dieser wunderbaren Stadt ist.
Das Hotel muss mit mehr Hingabe geführt werden, da es sich um ein wirklich kleines Hotel handelt und es sehr schade ist, das es nicht dem hohen Standard gerecht wird.
Der Barkeeper und der Page aus der Ukraine haben einen sehr guten Job gemacht.

This is a very unique hotel that combines great style, amazing staff, comfort, and great location at the heart of old Lisbon. I would not hesitate to stay there next trip. So much to do nearby, and loved the piano player at breakfast and dinner.

I am a Marriott Titanium and stay at Marriott hotels around the world.
I have to say that the Fontecruz Lisboa is one of the most unique properties I have stayed at. It has all the trappings; location, a nice restaurant, good food etc., but what sets it apart is the chic decor and the wonderful staff who take so much care of you, are thoughtful and welcoming.
The location is, of course, brilliant.
If I would have to comment on a deficiency, the only thing that comes to mind is that it needs a bit more variety in a la carte dining. It’s a bit limited. But given the options around the hotel (many restaurants) that is really not an issue.
I have stayed at this hotel three times already and will continue to patronize it.

Very nice hotel, unique decor, great location on a commercial upscale street, also near barrio alto. Some of the staff, like Veronica, were extremely helpful and well prepared. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast with live piano music. Housekeeping needs a bit of improvement. Would definitely come back.

The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel had nice atmosphere. I would give it a better rating except for the fact that the food from them made me sick and, there was noisy construction starting at 730 every morning which prevented us from sleeping and that we had to get new room keys in the middle of our stay because they stopped working. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Sheila (pronounced Shy-la - sorry I didn't catch the spelling) in the dining room was an absolute life-saver and so welcoming - super helpful, explained so much about what to do, so kind and patient with us. And Fernando, also in the bar / dining room, made my husband's birthday a wonderful surprise, with some delicious truffles and champagne waiting in our room after a long day wandering about, and a surprise birthday cupcake, with candle and piano accompaniment, at dinner that evening. We had not mentioned that it was his birthday - they noticed and did this on their own. Everyone at the hotel was so gracious and helpful. We will definitely return - to Portugal and to the Fontecruz.

Rooms are nice, but there can be maintenance and noise issues ...
If you get upgraded to a terrace on the 4th floor, try to take advantage of it!

Cute boutique brand Autograph Collection/Marriott hotel in a great location close to numerous attractions, shopping and restaurants. Very unique interior with a mix of modern and classic. Rooms are very nice, clean and fairly large. Even better, the staff is super friendly, accommodating and available to answer questions or suggest places to visit. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Good location, modern rooms but very dark interiors and far away from a 5 star hotel. Would rate it as good 4 star hotel. Check in is extremely slow and shower in the bathroom had low water pressure and leaks. No evening turn down service which would be standard in a 5 star hotel. However, their steeply discounted rates are good.

Great boutique hotel, part of the Marriott hotels family. Booked a few nights here on points/rewards and was treated just as well as if we were paying cash. We ended up enjoying the night life a little too much so had to have a slow morning once or twice, impressive how fast the housekeeping can turn a room, even into the middle of the day! For what it’s worth, I’m used to hotels stopping the housekeeping service in early afternoon. However since that’s when we were just getting out of the room some days, by the time we’d return the room was fresh and welcoming again. Wonderful experience overall!

Very nice hotel in a great location. Staff are very helpful and nice The biggest problem I had was I could hear everything going on including construction on other floors, people slamming their doors and cleaning staff making lots of noise too. The walls are thin and they need more sound proofing

Everything was wonderful. The room was great as we were in a suite. Really worth it. The complementary breakfast was also the best we had in Portugal. It was also really cool art and vibe as well.

I was very disappointed. The quality of the rooms is sub-par and nothing else about the experience made up for it. The bar was a particular strange uncomfortable experience, with the manager watching football and listening to bad rock music that didn't fit the atmosphere at all, very loudly. When we asked if they could turn it down, he actually turned it up louder, even though we were the only guests there. Definitely did not feel welcome.

This is a great boutique hotel that definitely gets away from the typical chain hotels. The location is in the heart of Lisbons main shopping street in a relatively affluent area, but still close to the main tourist areas too. Big rooms and well appointed bathrooms add the the enjoyment. Very friendly staff that would have got 5 stars but the bar service was crazy slow considering the bar was generally empty during my visit. Sometimes it can be a risk going to quirky hotels, but this one worked out well. I will go back when Im next in Lisbon.

Un hotel que deja bastante que desear. Entre varias cosas negativas, tras dejar cartelito a las 10:00 para que hicieran la habitación, llegamos a las 16:00 y seguía sin hacer. Un hotel nada recomendable para el precio que tiene.

Decent sized rooms with a good location. However, don't expect much more. The staff is plesant, but generally unhelpful and the front desk is understaffed. Generally only one person, but on occasion two, so there's always a wait. No concierge and the staff have few helpful suggestions. When asked about a good dinner spot they recommended a place across the street, as the line was long we asked about other areas of the city. They had no thoughts. (A helpful police officer pointed us to Bario Alto.) On departure day, I enquired about taking breakfast to go. The front desk noted it was not a problem, but the restaurant said they had no boxes and nothing was to go. (I eventually got a napkin after begging and took a roll.) The hotel promoted a Fado concert and offered reservations. We asked for reservations at the bar so we could have drink while listening. The front desk noted no reservations were needed and it was fine. On the night of the concert, the hostess (one of the most unhelpful people at the hotel) said there were no chairs at the bar and thus I couldn't listen. Eventually, I asked to stand and she finally obliged. Turned out there was a seat at the bar and then shortly there after another opened up. (No one else at the bar was standing, so there was plenty of room.) While there, I noted she turned away a guest who had just checked in and wanted his welcome drink. The hotel boasted a New Year's day brunch -- however, it was the same breakfast as every other day (pastries, meat, fruit and mediocre eggs). The room keys are electronic and numerous guests had problems -- ours needed to be reprogrammed multiple times during our 3 day stay. In sum, clean property with decent rooms but nothing special and limited help.

I got locked out after I went out to a late dinner. They have no card reader outside and there was no one in the lobby. No one answered the phone either. I was there for 30-40 mins trying to reach the hotel.
The food at the restaurant is also bad. It was the worst meal I had in my trip

Great location, but poorly operated and maintained. Room had a dirty towel, used soap, unplugged minibar, no do not disturb sign. 24hr room service (a necessity after a 20 hour journey) never answered the phone. Stayed in one afternoon and staff tried to enter room 3 times with less than 1 seconds notice.

Our stay at the Fontecruz Lisboa, Autograph Collection was the last night of our 10 day vacation in Portugal. We found the staff to be extremely professional and helpful, even calling our airline for us to ensure that our meals met our dietary needs. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The only two drawbacks were internet connectivity issues and plexiglass over the windows which took away from the ambience. It is located in an upscale area of Lisbon and there was a lot to do nearby.

Beautiful hotel on the main drag in Lisbon. My room was huge and gorgeous with a terrace . The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was like a spa. The restaurant is excellent and staff are very polite and helpful .

Great location, not a big fan of the stark black decor of the hotel loby and rooms. Lisbon is know as a good value for the traveler, had a couple of gin and tonics it cost me 48 euros. Have stayed at several Autograph Collection properties and have enjoyed all of them including Fontecruz.

Our neighbors had stayed in this hotel approximately 1 year prior to our trip. We stayed there on their recommendation and were more than pleased. The decor was awesome, the staff superb and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The bartender was personal and remembered us from earlier in the day. Excellent experience!!

This hotel doesn’t live up to the category and cost. The hotel has a lot of style with a friendly staff, but lacks the essentials of comfort beds and walls the reduce the noise between rooms.

Excellent hotel. Located on the luxury shopping street (with Burberry,Prada etc) and walking distance to most of the city’s attractions. The staff was great and helped accommodate my girlfriend who broke her leg during the trip. Particular thanks goes to Paulo and the late night staff who were very helpful and kind. The breakfast selection is excellent and generous and has cozy boutique decor. Also very fast WiFi with excellent coverage.

This was our second visit to Lisbon and the Fontecruz. They even put us in the same room as we had last year! The room was spotless and all the public areas likewise. The staff are all very helpful and go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. Were just home and I have already recommended the hotel to a friend.

The hotel claims to be a 5-star property. It’s is not. Housekeeping is sub-par, items in the mini bar were not replaced in 3 days, rooms remained uncleaned until after we called housekeeping at 4:30pm. Other than hotel’s superb location, I can’t recommend it.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Avenida Liberdade.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, staff is always polite and friendly.
The location couldn't get much better. Right by all the fancy shops of Avenida da Liberdade and within walking distance of Rua Augusta, Praça do Comércio and all the fun stuff in downtown Lisbon.
Our hotel room was spotless clean and everything looked brand new and well maintained.
I'd definitely stay again!

Overall, the Fontecruz Lisboa hotel was an excellent experience! The terrace was absolutely amazing. The food was very good for breakfast, tapas, and drinks (especially the sangria). The hotel was kept very clean, has a nice vibe to it, staff is extremely friendly & hospitable, the only "complaint" is they need to do something about their gym (or lack of a gym). The hotel is perfectly situated within the shopping area, and close proximity to all tourist attractions, great restaurants, and places to see within a 15-minute walk. Lisbon has so much culture and such beautiful sites, Fontecruz is in the heart of it. Great experience!

My husband and I stay here for vacation for 5 nights. The location is convenient. We were able to walk to most places. We took a cab to Belem for less than 6 euros.
With so much walking we were tired to go out for dinner. We ate at the reataurant one evening. We shared salmon with risotto. Very good, maybe a little salty but we eat low sodium. The next few nights we got even lazier and order room service. Very fast. The only thing is the menu was a little limited. Although we managed to eat 3 different things every night.
Lastly, the staff was great. Always available to help. At the restaurant they were also very flexible with our order.
Will recommend and I would stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location with easy walking to most attractions. The staff is phenomenal, always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was the best buffet we had in our two weeks in Portugal and to top it off the head chef of the restaurant stopped by out table on morning to give us amazing recommendations on places to visit and places to eat. I highly recommend this hotel.

What an incredible boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon! The staff are warm, friendly and attentive to your needs, offering suggestions and guidance; the hotel is modern, fresh and funky right down to the small details; the bistro serves up a scrumptious breakfast by attentive, friendly servers while a pianist entertains you; our room was clean, quiet and spacious, with a comfy king bed for resting — we enjoyed an upgrade to a suite that made our stay that much more enjoyable! The hotel is a true gem!

Pros: big, modern room with large windows that opened to the street. Big bathroom with nice shower. Great breakfast with charcuterie, hot items like bacon and sausage, pastries, and plenty of other items (including sparkling wine!). Incredibly friendly and attentive staff made us feel very welcome.
Cons: no counter space in bathroom or space for toiletry bag/makeup, etc. But the biggest con was the bathroom wall/door was fogged glass, so it lit up the entire room if the light was on, which isn’t ideal for two people.
But other than that, great hotel and great stay.

Asked for a room on a high floor but was put on level 2. Normally the reception at least acknowledge it wasn’t possible to fulfil the request but she was too busy trying to sell us the valentines menu. Paid for an upgraded room but this turned out to be opposite the cleaners closet so every morning we are woken by chatting and laughing. (Everyone is entitle to chat and laugh at work, it was just annoying that it was by our room). Also near the lift so we got to hear that every time. The upgraded “king” room turned out to be 2 single beds pushed together. I know this is common in Europe, but honestly I would expect more from a 5 star hotel. To top it all off, it was my birthday on the Sunday (which we told reception on arrival) but there was nothing to recognise this. I don’t expect much but after staying in other 5 star hotels in the portfolio, they always bring a little something. I then see on Instagram, someone else staying in the hotel has the same birthday and they DID receive a little birthday cake!!!! On check out, I was going to tell them how awful the stay was but then they didn’t even ask how our stay was!! She Simply asked if I was paying with the same card as on the account and have a safe travel. I would NEVER stay here again. Terrible experience. I should mention, however, the cleaning staff did a fantastic job and the toiletries are very nice. Location also very convenient but these are really the only positives. There are some fantastic other 5 star hotels in the portfolio, stay there instead!

Very pleased in all aspects with this Lisbon hotel, Marriott.com. We had a 'terrance' room with a large deck area overlooking the beautiful Lisbon rooflines. We didn't have the chance to "use" it per say due to February weather but it had a wonderful feel and added to the size of the room. Hotel staff are always trying. Location is perfect. We'll be back to explore more of Portugal and this will be the hotel of choice. / Hotel lounge offered great music. In particular, there was a piano player during breakfast. A nice touch!

I stayed at the Fontecruz Lisboa hotel as part of a business meeting and my husband joined me for a few days afterward. The staff was so welcoming and helpful during my entire stay! They attended to our every need for our meetings; and offered suggestions and directions for our leisure activities.
The hotel offered every modern convenience, and was stylishly decorated. The location was convenient.
The restaurant offered a varied menu - everything we had was delicious. The breakfast buffet was awesome!
We will definitely stay at the Fontecruz again!

Everything about this hotel was perfect. It is in the perfect location and everything in the hotel is unique, modern and clean. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate you. We arrived early and they held our bags and even delivered them to the room before we arrived back. The bartender made some amazing delicious cocktails. We had a late flight on the day of our departure and the hotel allowed us to stay until 1600. We will never stay anywhere else while in Lisbon and will recommend the hotel to all our friends, colleagues, and coworkers.

Small hotel but perfect location with absolutely amazing staff. Everyone, and I mean everyone, always went out of their way to give a warm greeting at every interaction. No matter the time or how long we were out, our room was always cleaned to perfection by house keeping staff that seemed almost invisible. Room were large and bed comfortable. Breakfast offerings vast and Wi-Fi worked well. Rooms felt a little “vacant” decor wise & would have liked to see some USB power ports but other than that an absolutely perfect stay.

I cannot heap enough praise on how wonderful my whole stay was. From the moment I was greeted at the door up until check out, everything was terrific. The front desk staff and restaurant/bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was great at arranging tours and transportation. Check in was very easy. The restaurant/bar staff also provided great information about the city and surrounding areas. The service was spectacular as were the meals and drinks. Also, entertainment that was provided was enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The location is any easy walk to many dining and shopping areas. Loved the whole theme!! I can't wait to visit again with more friends and family.

We had a really amazing experience staying here as part of our anniversary trip. The staff, all the way from the front desk, the food and beverage personnel, and even the GM, went out of their way to make our stay feel special and personalized! The suite (801) was stunningly beautiful, modern and spacious. The breakfast buffet was as good as you can get in Portugal.

Didn't stay at the hotel but met up with some guys there for drinks and stayed for a little Fado music. It's a high class place with drinks to match and prices too. The musicians were amazing and a great place to have a drink. The service was impeccable as well. Hope to stay at the hotel next time I'm in Lisbon.

This is something I am not use to. But I was in the side walk in front of the Hotel when the valet was having a argumet with the suplier of the same hotel. The way he was shouting at them was very rude. All that, just because there is no parking spot for suplier near the hotel, and the suplier driver parked his truck in front of hotel to unload the goods. Ok, maybe he should not have parked in there, but the rudeness of the valet was something else.
Overall, I fell sorry for the driver and his colleague. The were polite and behaving according.

The hotel is in a great location. Right in the middle of a boulevard of the best stores. A beautiful tree lined street.

The hotel is very, very dark. The designer forgot the lighting. The rooms were even worse, mostly the lighting. Black on black, with improper lighting. The beds hard, the linens coarse and the window was so dirty it was hard to see clearly outside.

Extremely loud noises. This room is right over a garage that has an extremely loud garage door that opens and closes all night long. There is also a lot of street noise and some other (metal on metal screeching) noise that we could not identify (elevator, maybe?)

The lunch really ruined our feeling about the hotel. The room was nice, the decor was fun. We asked where we could go get a sandwich and they recommended the restaurant in the lobby. They only had one sandwich and after ordering we were told they were “out” of the ingredients. They offered an alternative that was what my husband described the worst he has ever had. It was bread with one slice of roast beef that didn’t even cover the whole slice of bread. My salad was barely edible as the dressing just tasted like mayo and there was far too much on there.

Our stay at the Fontecruz was excellent. From the moment we arrived at the lobby after our international flight and were greeted with chocolates and water to the hustle of the bell hop to get a taxi when our Uber was delayed. I would recommend this luxurious experience to all travelers.

The concierge (Maria) was helpful in getting our plans sorted and making recommendations. We were on our honeymoon and they had a special treat sent to the room which was wonderful. We stayed at a live music night at the restaurant and we have funny time. If you have good weather -whiat happens often - the breakfast in the open terrace is a great experience.

We have stayed at the Fontecruz Lisboa twice: before and after our trip to the Algarve. The hotel is ideally located on the Avenida do Liberdade , just steps from the Marques de Pombal Square, Eduard VI Park, Restauradores Square, and Rossio Railways Station. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom well furnished BUT EVERYTHING is in desperate need for maintenance; the sync of the shower was broken in both rooms we have stayed. The breakfast is awfully expensive, 27 Euro per person, especially considering the quality of the buffet; we might have been unlucky, but all the pastries were "not fresh", possibly several days old; the pancakes made to order were 1" thick, and maple syrup was not available; no fruit available; the next day we went to the Rossio Starbucks were we had a great breakfast for a fraction of what we paid at the hotel. On our second stay we were assigned a room which was not what we had booked, standard instead of superior, two single beds instead of a king bed, AND it smelled of smoke even if on paper the property is smoke free. It took three increasingly upset visits to the front desk to get something close to what we had booked and paid for. The front desk staff is unresponsive, possibly careless.In summary, the only plus is the location. For the rest, a Vagabond Inn may be a better choice. Definitely not worth 250 Euro / night; and definitely not a Mariott category 6 property. Post scriptum : we have complained to Marriott Customer Service both via email and Twitter DM; all we have got are 8,000 points - a night at the Fontecruz Lisboa requires 50,000 points. Ridiculous.

Fun, lively hotel in a great location. Great bar, wonderful patio, nice breakfast. Room was clean, nice size. They need more places to unpack your clothes, a dresser or something. There is a closet with 2 small drawers, but it's not nearly enough space. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay there again

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I’m actually furious. I booked this hotel knowing how good it was. We dropped our baggage off at about noon today and the room was not ready. We went out for the day to return to the staff telling us that us and our luggage needed to be moved to a different hotel because the room was not available. They didn't give us the specific reason why. They said they could not contact us because they didn’t have our information (they did), and that Expedia was supposed to contact us. No one told us anything. They sent us to a different “5 star” hotel... the room is a dilapidated, old, busted up, and not close to a 5 star hotel. We booked this hotel because we loved the location and the boutique touches. We now out of the way, unhappy, and feel our hands are tied, and we are still paying for the room that we did not get. I would like to be contacted by an Expedia representative immediately. Thank you.

this Hotel give you the real experience expected as Elite member and acknowledge it upon your arrival, we were welcomed by Rita which was very nice and accommodating to our requests with no other than great smile. to top it up we had great in room dinning from the Bistro restaurant and highly recommend the octopus which was cooked to perfection which was not expected for in-room dining.
the concierge Maria was highly knowledgeable for all our needs in terms of dinning and other touring include money change which saved us few $
my wife and I were there for vacation and found it to be the perfect place in terms of location and comfortability. in it was business trip I will definitely choose it as well.

Location of the hotel is excellent. It seems to be a French modern motif more than a Portuguese motive. The black and red decor was keeping with this theme.
The rooms are large and spacious and quiet. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom was very good size for a European hotel. Towels were soft and oversized.
We opted for the full breakfast each morning. It was delicious with a large selection.
It seems that the staff were friendly and capable enough. However they’re very limited what they can do, and are not too concerned with extending themselves for special request.
We were told that we could not have an additional luggage rack for the room for our extra bag. None were available and they simply didn’t do that.
We were advised by a very friendly concierge that we needed to hire a minivan with their service to transfer us to the airport because we had so much luggage? All our other transfers only required the Mercedes sedan which was more than adequate. And of course, the hotel could not centrally bill this to the room. We had to pay the car in cash or pay a 10% credit card surcharge. Hotel had no arrangements for any type of transfers that we could bill to the room like other upscale hotels. This was quite disappointing. (The cost for the minivan is €55 one-way. Our friends caught an Uber ride to the airport for about €10.)

In a 16 day trip through... in 10 different hotels in Spain & Portugal... the Fontecruz Lisboa was the best of them all. The staff was superior and the hotel itself, most comfortable. The best/softest towels, robes, etc... comfortable bedding... and a premier location made this the finest stay of our trip. We HIGHLY recommend it.

We could not have picked a better hotel for our stay in Lisbon. The hotel is located on a beautiful street and is a short walk from many of the main sites. The hotel breakfast had a beautiful array of meats, cheeses, breads, cakes, etc... and the bar staff was amazing. The hotel has fun events in the evenings, and the staff gave us wonderful recommendations for meals. The guest rooms are big, modern and well-maintained. This hotel has so many special and sentimental touches and is the perfect place to stay in Lisbon! Highly recommend!

Overall it was a good central choice for our stay in lisbon. Our room was upgraded and ended up being quite big. It’s in the heart of a great shopping area. The service was just ok, nothing out of the way. I would recommend to place a do not disturb sign on the door if you plan on being in your room after 9am. Housekeeping comes early and often otherwise.

Perfect location about 15 min walk to the action yet very quiet part of town. The room is what you expect from Marriott autograph edition. There is no concierge lounge but the breakfast is better anyway. You can inform the chief what you would like and he delivers! It's an $9-12 Uber from the airport with little traffic. Enjoy.

First day in Lisbon booked into Fontecruz by Autograph collection.
The hotel is 10 minutes away from Lisbon airport and in walking distance to Rosso station which is the hub of tourist activity.
I walked in at 9.00am and the front office was very welcoming offering to help with the days plan and preparing the check-in meanwhile. Room wasn’t ready as the hotel was full and I took a stroll with the promise from them that they will call when the room was ready if possible before 3pm. They called by 12 but I wasn’t ready to go back as I was in the tram 28 queue, dreading my first decision in Lisbon.
When I returned, the luggage was already in the room and I’d received a Deluxe room on the 6th floor, quiet and pleasant room decor. Dark undertones make for a perfect sleep. Dozed off from 6pm to 4am with the help of some A grade jet lag. Rain shower made up for the sleepy interior. The city view is covered by a big tree right in front of the hotel, but no complains as it probably cuts the noise from the streets too.
Despite the hotel being booked out, the friendly reception offered a late check out of 2pm. Breakfast was petit but ticked all my boxes; bacon, eggs plenty of bread and fruits to go with fancy cured meats and cheese.
10/10 for the experience. Will book again.

Too dark. Gloomy and the staff is not helpful. Arrived at 3 pm and my room was not ready. Even for a platinum member they don't bother or care. Stayed in different Marriott hotels but this one was too bad. Next day went for breakfast and no one gave any attention to us. No one served coffee for us while we were there for 25 minutes or more. It's a 5 star hotel but I give it a Max of 2 stars. And won't ever come there or recommend it to anyone. My platinum membership was useless there and didn't give me any sense of importance. No one even came to help us with luggage when we arrived as I had to pull them on my own and front desk didn't offer any kind of help

With our rubber soled shoes (The beautiful tile sidewalks can be slippery and treacherous without good FLAT shoes) and umbrella, the staff at both the hotel and the "I" center made our trip perfect.

On the plus side: very comfortable bed and nice neighbourhood. Not so good side: exceedingly dark decor (almost gloomy) and staff that is serviceable if not overly attentive. Maintenance somewhat lacking. The single treadmill in the gym was not functioning and the empty water glass was still beside it when I left 2 nights later. Housekeeper entered our room at 9:30 a.m. without warning. A quick "Perdon!" and she retreated. I've stayed directly across the street at the Sofitel. A far more pleasant experience.

Without a doubt I would recommend this hotel but there were some small things that were surprising in a signature level hotel. The bath towels and bathmat are all frayed. And not just in our room in our friends rooms as well. Not a big deal but does not give that luxury impression . Secondly it was pouring rain the entire time we were there and they do not have more than 15 umbrellas to offer for the guests. We thought this was odd since the other hotels we stayed in that week all had umbrellas in every room . And 55 euro per person for brunch....make sure to get that included or eat elsewhere.None of these things would keep us from staying here again- more a suggestion for the hotel. On the plus side- bar staff is fantastic and make a great sangria! Rooms are really big and comfortable. Great location with easy walk to shopping and dining.

I travel to Lisbon for work every month and I always try different hotels, now that I know Fontecruz, this is the only one I will stay. Location is great, staff very friendly, breakfast is 10/10, even for a vegan I found many options. The room is super comfy and massive. Recommend to everyone.

Por el mismo precio y en la misma ubicación existen muchísimos hoteles con mejor gusto y clase. Imposible cenar tranquilamente en el restaurante con un pianista que aporrea las teclas!!! Ruidoso, incluido televisor !!!...al desayuno también está, aunque más tranquilo. Medio día y no hacen las habitaciones , al preguntar, la respuesta fue que pueden tardar hasta las 5 de la tarde!! Y se supone que tiene 5 estrellas!!.

Tout est parfait ou presque. L'emplacement, le service, la literie, la décoration, le petit déjeuner...seul bémol concerne l'insonorisation intérieure de l'hôtel. Notre chambre communicante n'était pas bien insonorisée avec la chambre voisine, idem concernant les bruits dans le couloir.
La salle de bain mériterait également un meilleur éclairage, et une meilleure ventilation.

Poor sound. Doors banging. Thumping. The housekeepers yell back and forth down the hallway at another all morning, they dont care. At least ask for a room away from the housekeeping closet that slams all night and all day. The concierge is very nice.

Ich weiß nicht, von wo ich anfangen soll, es war einfach alles sehr schlecht! Dieser Hotel glatte 2 Sterne nicht mehr. - überall Raumsprey, bis zu Kompfschmerzen, das ist so ein Duftmix zwischen Zigarren, amber und alten Duft, schrecklich ...- Handtücher sind richtig verwaschen und altDuschkopf richtig mit grünem Kalk versetzt, eklig. Waschbecken ist so unbequem, das beim Händewaschen werden auch Hosen nass- wir waren mit kleinem Baby und mussten erste Zimmer wechseln, weil andere war durchgeraucht, das schlimme ist wir sind Marriott Gold Member und auf Bitte um ein Upgrade wurde auch ignoriert- Londryservice (Wäscheservice) totale Katastrophe, mussten 3 Tage warten bis wir die wieder bekommen- um diesen Hotel muss man einen grosssen Bogen machen und vergessen, kann man so den ganzen Urlaub in Lissabon verderben... Das einzige gut ist nur die Lage, aber in jede 50 Meter gibt es viele besseren Hotels als dieser

Hotel's decor is very chick and eclectic. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms tend to look very dark even with the lights on due to the the dark colored walls. The hotel is centrally located making it convenient to take the metro or bus.

This was my second stay at Fontecruz Lisboa. The location is perfect -- walking distance to downtown but away from the noise of downtown. Many fine shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel is luxurious, the suite was spacious and the restaurant was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Service was excellent.
A few minor complaints. First, the shower is poorly designed. It is not possible to shower without getting water all around the outside of the shower. Second, there were not enough drawers to put clothes. Two small drawers are too few for two people for a week. Third, it was annoying to be charged for the espresso capsules. I have not encountered that at other fine European hotels.
Aside from those issues, we had a wonderful stay.

Cool looking boutique hotel. Excellent service, friendly staff. Only two issues: 1. The plugs on the nightstands are wired to the same switch that controls the lights, which is a huge design flaw if you plan to charge your phone there overnight. 2. They had a nice Nespresso style machine in the room and provided 6 pods, but had a note that said you get one free per person and additional pods used would cost 2 Euros each. Totally within their rights to charge but it feels a bit cheap and in poor taste.

Overall, pretty well located hotel. Rooms are very modern and beds are pretty comfortable. Bathroom super big with no bath tub. Main issue is the staff - not friendly at all. They were rude, to the point that I felt they were doing me a favor when checking me in. Being a Platinum Marriott member, I was expecting a much better service from an Autograph Hotel. So if you are expecting top service, find another property as this one is not going to be that amazing hotel you want to tell your friends about.

This is a drab hotel. The location is good, but we were given a room in a separate building overlooking a loud bar. Carpet in room was stained and disgusting. Bed was comfortable. It seemed like a two star hotel. Good location. Good breakfast.

Minor maintenance improvement can be done but this is typical for older hotels in Europe. I'll stay there again when I return to the place next time!

I made a reservation and by mistake I put only one person. They charged me and extra fee per day for my wife, because of that error. A hotel of that high quality should not do that. They even charged for the coffee they offer in the room.

The rooms are nice but small, great part of town for walking to just about everything. The mini bar and room service is really over priced. ($6 us for a kit kat) We had problems with the AC going out every day. All in all of I went back, I'd stay somewhere else.

This was my first stay at an "Autograph Collection" hotel. Overall I would rate it between an 8 and 9 on a scale of 10. Clean, sleek and modern hotel. Breakfast was one of the best I've experienced in years. They offer many choices including Gluten free and smoothies! One big negative for me was the room temperature (but I found this a problem at 3 out of 4 Marriott hotels I stayed in during this visit in Portugal and Spain). I was told my room temperature could not be lowered. The room was hot and very dark (black- everything including the bathroom). If you have trouble seeing and wear glasses get ready because it hard to see in these types of rooms. Only one window and still not enough light. The color makes the room feel much smaller. Having said that, the service was almost perfect and I would highly recommend you experience an "Autograph Collection" hotel.

Das Hotel ist super-zentral gelegen, man erreicht praktisch alles zu Fuß oder mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, die direkt vor der Tür liegen (Metro Linea Azul Station Avenida). Das Design ist sehr ansprechend und differenziert das Hotel von anderen, sonst üblichen Hotels. Das Personal ist hervorragend geschult, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und übernimmt auch gerne die telefonische Reservierung in einem Restaurant. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener, zufriedener Aufenthalt, den ich ausnahmslos weiterempfehlen kann.

À l'arrivée bonne surprise avec une jolie façade un joli hall d'accueil.
La réception a été cordiale.
La chambre est de taille agréable avec une bonne literie.
Le gros point faible sont les fortes odeurs de bois de santal dans les couloirs qui sonnent mal au crâne et le petit déjeuner qui est clairement sur estimé !!! 10eur par personne on s'attendait à beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup mieux!!!!
Le personnel est en surnombre que ce soir à la réception ou au petit déjeuner.
Si vous y allez surtout pas de petit déjeuner donc!

Ambientes modernos pero muy oscuros, en los cuartos, las luces son escasas y no iluminan bien??!!! En la ducha falta lugar para colocar el jabón....cuando te lavas las manos el agua cae afuera del lavatorio pues está mal diseñada. Creo que los diseñadores no han se han quedado en los cuartos del hotel, sino hubieran percibido los erroresss, que nosotros pagamos x ellos...
En el desayuno el café tibio y los huevos revueltos sin sabor y saben a nada..

This hotel was amazing. The staff were great during check in. The hotel was beautifully decorated in a unique style. The rooms were perfect size and the decor here was also uniquely upscale. Great modern bathroom. The bar theme was great and the staff here were very friendly. There is a nice outdoor patio out back. The hotel is situated on a main road with lots of food, shopping, and public transportation around. This hotel is definitely a must when staying in this area of Lisbon.

Training issue: As part of the room checklist, maids should ensure that after they clean the shower they turn the shower back to "rain shower" and NOT on the spray bar. I got up on two separate occasions and turned on the water and got drenched with cold water because the spray bar was on. The water pressure is very good, which is a plus, but the second time this happened the water hit the wall outside the shower and soaked both rolls of toilet paper.

A big reason we came back to the Fontecruz was a desire to see Mauro, the bar and restaurant manager, who had taken extraordinary care of us during our one week stay last year. Fortunately, we were able to see him on his last day. Unfortunately, he will not be there in the future. As a seasoned International traveler with 5 million air miles and nearly 1 million Marriott points, I hope that the management of the hotel understands what a loss this is for you. I know good when I see it and Mauro is one of the most exceptional service providers that I have ever encountered while staying in some of the most exclusive hotels in the world. As I stated last year, he's a superstar and everything that my wife and I encountered on this short trip both reinforced and enhanced that estimate. If he ends up at a competitive hotel with comparable amenities, I would be inclined to follow him. Brick and mortar is the easy part of the hospitality business. Having personnel that excel at hospitality is the critical key to success. While the Fontecruz is a very nice hotel, the sum of the experience that you can offer a guest will be less with the loss of Mauro.

I booked a reward stay with points at this hotel and we had a great time. The staff upgraded us to a suite on the top floor with a nice view over Lisbon. Check-in was fast and we got to know all important things about the hotel, like breakfast and the special showers. The suite was big and the bed was extremely comfortable and large. Breakfast was very tasty and lots of choices. Good choice on fruits, bread, yogurt and some hot breakfast items as well. The terrace is very nice in the morning and we did eat outside. I definitely recommend this hotel as it's close to all must see's in Lisbon. You could either walk, take the tram or metro to areas you want to see. Restaurants in all classes and cuisines are very close to the hotel.

Stayed in this hotel twice; nice large and quiet rooms. Very close to the metro and walking distance from a lot of Lisboa's must-see's. Also love their restaurant and outdoor terrace. When your feet are tired from walking, relax in their garden with a gin-tonic. Great way to end the day!

This hotel is well above your "average" hotel. The décor, the ambiance, the staff, the food and beverages, the whole experience was some of the best I have experienced - certainly the best city centre Marriott hotel I have ever experienced.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for business, weekend breaks or an extended stay in Lisbon.

“Unfriendly and dirty, never again!”
Absolutely disappointing experience. The company booked the Fontecruz Marriot Hotel even if I was attending a conference at a different hotel (EPIC Sana Lisbon, very recommendable) as we have a Marriot membership card and are usually happy with the service provided.
First of all at my arrival I indicated Mr. Pedro Delgado that my company had already sent them the credit card authorisation to charge the room as it was a business trip.
Even so I was asked to present my personal credit card to block a certain amount, which I absolutely refused saying I had no credit card. Why did we go through all the trouble to send the credit card details in advance?
Already the unfriendliness of the receptionist was not the best way to welcome a guest, nor the less with a Marriot frequent guest Card.
As I get the room assigned on the 1st floor and the Hotel is on a main and busy street I ask if it is not a noisy room, with a condescendent tone he responds that they have good quality windows installed and there is no noise in the room, not true at all you can clearly hear the heavy traffic.
The room is dark and dull, cheap furniture (yes with a designer intention, but just that) and very poor lighting, I had to use my phone light to store and later search for clothes in the closet.
After walking through the room I notice that maybe the poor lighting is intended so you don’t notice the dirt and defects in the room… Suspicious stains on the sofa I wouldn’t even dare to leave my clothes on it, undetermined splashes on the wall, tissue box ripped from the wall, the glass panels that divide the bathroom have not been cleaned for ages, you can still see the smeary traces of the silicon I assume from when they installed them (how long ago?), the faucet of the sink hasn’t seen a proper cleaning either and the cover of the shower drain is loose and … oh surprise if you lift it the drain is FULL OF MOULD!!!! Absolutely disgusting and not at all what you expect from a 5 star Hotel at those rates.
And now the check out… remember I was asked to present my credit card as they said that the company card authorisation they received was to cover the hotel expenses and not to block a deposit? Well it seems that that had magically changed during the 3 nights I stayed, again I’m asked to pay with my credit card. Again I tell the same person that we had already send the credit card authorisation and before even checking it he answer that’s only to block the deposit. Please do your job, check before giving an answer and don’t respond with whatever suits your lazy and rude style at the moment. As a matter of fact after checking he said it was ok, that he had everything for the payment, he really seemed annoyed not to be right and having to agree with me. Really? Do I have to argue for 10 minutes with someone just because he’s not able to do his job and check an email? That is not at all the treatment I expect from someone at a hotel front desk, rude, unpolite, condescending and unhelpful attitude, please look for a job somewhere away from personal interaction. This has really helped me making the decision not to stay at a Marriot ever again.

The gentlemen manning the front office from trainees to supervisors were there to deliver service. The service was always classy subtle, and they all remembered us even from a small interaction. Alejandro at the front office welcomed us in a way we felt we are all set to explore the beautiful city. The fine service and small touched made a difference from a small beautiful strawberry rose in our Tom Collins or saying thank with our full name.

One thing to note is that we traveled with an infant who was a gluten and dairy allergy. The daily breakfast included gluten and dairy free options, which just helped make each day much easier, as it is not always something that a hotel accommodates.
Also when we had a really early flight out, the hotel staff packed up breakfast to go, which was awesome; as we did not have to search for food in the airport.
Would certainly recommend this property to anyone going to Lisbon!

Das Hotel ist von der Lage gut, das Disign ist nicht jedermanns Sache,in einem 5 Sterne Hotel erwartet man mehr, so auch das nicht mal in der eigenen Sprache TV empfangen werden kann!

Sehr freundliches Personal beim Check-in. Sehr gute Frühstück. Geräumiges Bad. Schönes Zimmer.Lediglich hat mich geärgert, dass man 14€ weniger bezahlen musste, wenn man eine VISA-Karte verwendet.

The Fontecruz Hotel is well located within walking distance of downtown Lisbon, the castle and waterfront, and great shopping. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to help us plan trips to Sintra, Belem, and Porto.

The location is great, staff is wonderful! Breakfast consists of the variety of food and staff is absolutely amazing. All the problems that we had to face were solved quickly. The design was the inspiration for me.

The hotel is a freshly renovated property which especially stand out by the friendliness of its staff. The rooms are large and quiet and the beds very comfortable. I've spent about 70+ nights traveling last year and this is one of the best properties I've been to.

Beautiful hotel. Perfect location. Close to public transportation. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We were there since I was going to propose. They arranged for everything I had asked. We are already talking about visiting next year.

Close to downtown.
It is located in one of the main avenue of Lisbon, many restaurants and shops around, even inside the Hotel.
The breakfast is cozy and full having a lot of variety.
If you are visiting Lisbon it is one of the best places to stay.

What else do you need to know than that the location is perfect, the hotel is perfect size, the breakfast was hearty and got one fortified for the days walking, the staff is friendly and helpful. Never forget, location, location, location!!! Combined with excellent staff and you have a winner.

Very friendly staff and very convenient location. The rooms and bathroom are clean and very modern. The only drawback is the floor hallways are dark and black.

This hotel is not just a trendy, modern hotel. It's location is fantastic, in the city center and close to the major attractions and right next to a yellow line tourist bus stop. It has a large treelined area outside where you can walk around safely off the roads. The breakfast buffet at their restaurant is fantastic. It is a mix of local and international options with shortage of smoked fish and cured meat..oh and a DIY Mimosa bar!

Very modern hotel, room spacious with good wifi. However, it was very difficult to find the car park of the hotel in the back street because there is no indication of hotel name, only the street number which is on the gate. My husband (alone)ndrove past three times and got fed up. He had to leave it with the hotel staff.
It is about 20 minutes walk to the main tourist area in the seafront but nice walk ( no heels because there are cobble stone streets everywhere). There are also many good restaurants around the hotel.
