Had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. The staff know how to do their job, we found the customer service very good, which is in stark contrast to a number of other restaurants we've experienced in Faro. The food was good and the selection of wines excellent with a breakdown of the grape blends given beside each wine listed, very helpful. My husband and I sat outside finding the atmosphere very pleasant and relaxing.

Essen super - Pizza Tonno u Cipolla war super aber für 12 Euro leider zu teuer. Ebene so das Bier für 3 Euro. Dafür war das Personal sehr freundlich.

Perfect Italian food. Good and quick service. Great atmosphere. I recommend gnocchi and lasagne. Good wine. Desserts are basic but delicious. Tiramisu is all you need to leave with smile.

Very pleasant lunch. Good service. Tasty starter and main. Wine by the glass was also good. Not sure the menu changes for dinner. Have to go back one day and find out. Portions are large and hearty. No room for desert. Efficient staff too.

Vicino al centro, non è stato difficile trovare un parcheggio per strada. I prezzi sono nella media, cibo veramente buono. Abbiamo preso degli gnocchi con zucchine e gamberi e lasagna al ragù di anatra, il vino della casa e il dolce. Abbiamo pagato sui 20€ a testa. Posto davvero bello e di classe. Lo staff è gentilissimo e veloce nel servizio. Lo consiglio soprattutto per far colpo con la propria ragazza. Sicuramente ci ritornerò se avrò occasione.

Genial, sin duda un restaurante muy recomendable para disfrutar de un producto de primera y con un servicio de camareros ideal.
Hemos disfrutado de varias pizzas, spaghetti carbonara etc, etc muy bueno.
El postre no ha sido de menos, os lo recomiendo en su totalidad.
El local es muy bonito, moderno y con mesas amplias, también dispone de terraza.
Ha sido un verdadero placer.

Servicio muy atento rápido y amable. Decoración bonita. Muy limpio. La pizza buena buena, la ensalada genial y los niños se han comido penne 4 quesos exquisitos. Precios como cualquier italiano.

Service gut- essen leider nicht. Mein Freund hatte das Risotto welches leider eher säuerlich geschmeckt hat und sonst auch nicht gut abgeschmeckt war (Gewürze haben gefehlt). Vorab hatten wir das vitello tonato welches gut war. Ich hattr Gnocchi mit Gambas bestellt habe aber Gnocchi mit Walnuss und irgendeiner Käsesauce bekommen. Die Gnocchi waren zu weich, ansonsten aber ok und da ich zuerst unsicher war dass ich es selbst falsch bestellt hab, hab ich mich auch nict beschwert. Für die Qualität ist das Restaurant leider zu teuer

Nous avons été très bien accueillis lors de notre passage. Les plats sont bons et copieux, le service est agréable sans être trop insistant. La petite terrasse située sur la place est très agréable le soir, avec les hirondelles qui chantent au dessus de nos têtes.
Nous avons pris 2 plats de pâtes. Contrairement à la France, le pain semble être en supplément car ils n'en ont pas amené au moment du service.

Superb Italian restaurant situated only about 6 minutes walk away from the marina. We had the pecorino Al forno to start, which I'm glad we shared because it was very hearty. This was followed by penne and gnocchi dishes, both of which were delicious and hearty. The tiramisu at the end was lacking the liquoer kick, but that was the only down side. The bill was a very reasonable 60 euro for two, and that included a bottle of wine and two large bottles of San Pellegrino sparkling water.

Ich erzähle heute noch immer gerne von unserem Besuch in l'Osteria in Faro. Es war von vorne bis hinten einfach top.Der Service war mehr als aufmerksam und das Essen einfach unschlagbar. So ein leckeres Tiramisu kriegt ihr sonst nur bei der italienischen Oma, einfach ein Traum. Wenn ihr Faro besucht, dann nicht ohne dort gespeist zu haben.

Sehr schönes Ambiente mit viel liebe zum Detail. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Das Personal ist sehr nett und höflich. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Es war vom Teig her eine der besten Pizzen, die ich je hatte! Preis - Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung!

Abbiamo mangiato in questo ristorante con cucina italiana, ma gestito da personale del luogo. Ambiente curato ed accogliente, sia all'interno che all'esterno. Gentili e premurosi, parlano oltre naturalmente al portoghese anche l'inglese ed un po' d'italiano. La cucina è ottima, almeno per quel che riguarda ciò che abbiamo mangiato: una caprese, davvero ben confezionata in maniera diversa da come siamo abituati in Italia, utilizzando mozzarella fresca e degli ottimi pomodori. Con l'aggiunta oltre che dei soliti ingredienti olio d'oliva e sale, anche un pizzico di ottimo pesto che le conferiva un gusto originale.
Come piatto principale abbiamo ordinato dei spaghetti al nero di seppia con gamberi. Il nome del piatto era "spaghetti neri Portofino." Le porzioni sono generose, anche nel condimento che comprendeva gamberi freschi e di ottimo sapore. Tanto è vero che dopo non siamo riusciti ad ordinare altro, nemmeno il dolce che sembrava buono, almeno alla vista di quelli che abbiamo visto passare nei tavoli a fianco. Lo consigliamo, sia a pranzo che a cena, per la ottima cucina e per l'ambiente. Ricordatevi solo di prenotare se c'è una ricorrenza come San Valentino. A noi è capitato di volerci tornare ma era tutto prenotato ed abbiamo dovuto ripiegare (si fa per dire) con una cenetta fatta in casa.
P. S. abbiamo scoperto nella nostra seconda visita che il cuoco è italiano.

I don't think it would be fair to base this review solely on the regurgitation of the meal for the entirety of my hour drive home alone, but it does form a foundation.
From it's TripAdvisor ranking and snazzy facade one might be forgiven for thinking there is a higher quality to this restaurant than the reality. I think the pricing of the menu leads me to believe they feel the same. Don't get me wrong, the staff were lovely, welcoming, inviting and everything started and went well from the point of ambience and atmosphere.
However upon opening the menu it was clear that this was a pizza and pasta restaurant but with each of the aforementioned coming in around 15€ and a restaurant that serves pretty much only that, we were hopeful that the quality would be good, as both my partner and I are pizza and pasta fans.
Unfortunately we were slightly disappointed in the quality of both. I cannot say it was terrible, but at the same time I cannot say much good about it. The gnocchi with gorgonzola (hidden under a covering layer of solid ham - someone pass the chef a knife, and self control) lacked any actual gorgonzola and was overly creamy to disguise the budget cheese that had gone in there and I would be surprised if the cheese ever existed in solid cheese form, but on the subject of solid pieces of cheese, the parmesan on the pizza was sliced in pieces as large as the pizza segments themselves which completely overpowered the taste and eventually had to be put to the side and left.
We passed on desert and whilst I am not in the habit of being too mean in a review, if the restaurant read this and decide to cut down on the quantity of cream, cheese and layers of ham on most dishes, and add a touch more finesse, they will save both money and face in the eyes of restauranteurs who value the finer cuisine their aesthetic has you believe lies within.
ps. They want you to order wine by the bottle as there is no selection of winer by the glass and the house red we were given was slightly below poor.

Un restaurante italiano delicioso y buena cantidad en los platos. Los camareros son muy amables y la comida estaba muy rica.
Pedimos el carpaccio de pulpo, tallarines con esparragos verdes, chipirones con pesto rosso y los gnocchi l'osteria que estaban para chuparse los dedos.
De postre pedimos tiramisú, estaba bueno pero nada del otro mundo.
Salimos a unos 22€ por persona, bastante bien calidad/precio.

Yes! We are looking for food around 17:00-18:00 in Portugal we do not love eating late ourselves, but also our 3 years old son needs to sleep.
We had great help, great service, great food from a very kind girl. They even have us a special elephant plate with toddler fork, knives and spoon. The housewine is drinkable!

Really nice restaurant in Faro downtown. Quiet a nice surprise. I was not looking for an Italian but I've bumped into this place and I was impressed with the quality of the food (I had pasta). The food was well prepared and really tasty. The desserts were also quiet good. I believe that service needs to be a little faster but they were also nice and friendly. Parking is not easy (Paid parking is available at a 5 min walk).

Service au top, on nous a même offert un apéritif en attendant une table disponible alors que nous avons souvent remarqué qu'au Portugal bcp de restaurants proposent des accompagnement en attendant les plats et les facture à la fin. Pâtes très bonnes, plats copieux et délicieux. Nous reviendrons.

Quel mauvais moment passé dans cette pizzeria.
Nous avons réservé une table et nous étions deux. Je crois que le problème vient de là, ils aiment les tables plus importantes. Nous étions en salle et on nous a installé sur une petite table, le long du bar ou une fille a passé son temps a essuyer et ranger de la vaisselle (bonjour le bruit), avec la caisse derrière moi donc des passages en permanence dans le dos et de l'autre côté la cuisine et tous ses bruits.
Le moment a été vraiment détestable.
On a commandé deux pizzas et du rosé et on a mangé deux pizzas avec du rosé. Bref on a eu ce qu'on demandait sans aucun point particulier ni bon ni mauvais. Des pizzas quoi. J'en ai mangé ailleurs des succulentes mais aussi des mauvaises.
Là, on a mangé des pizzas point barre.
Bref une fois avalé on est parti sans dessert car on ne supportait plus cette ambiance. Peut etre que 'à quatre ou a six là, on sent autre chose mais a deux on a eu l impression d'être mis dans un coin et d'être là pour payer nos pizzas normales.

I went here based on the previous reviews - big disappointment. Previous reviewers must have killed their taste buds with too much booze, cigarettes and fish and chips. I've eaten in 100s of Italians restaurants globally and this is average at best.
Pizza base was crispy but had a lot of water on top. Pasta bland and not fresh. Service above average.
I strongly recommend Ria Formosa Lounge Bar and Restaurant in Faro hotel and beach club.

4 adults 2 kids. One order wrong. Re ordered and came later. Apologies accepted as the food was good. Nice pizzas. Prices were high for the area €4 for a glass of wine. €3 for a small beer. The service could be better.

6/27 L’Osteria
Faro - Was met by a very nice waiter that was very helpful in our selections. Of course, we ordered too much, but hey, enjoy.
Brushetta tasted fresh and the salad was VERY good. I can’t recall the name, but it had buffalo and feta cheese with walnuts, cucumber, mixed lettuce and tomato. Dean had Penne pasta with mushrooms and a meat (he loved it, didn’t share a lot) and I had spaghetti (black ink) pasta with shrimp and squid. This was Delish! And it was made to my liking, extra squid and a small amount of shrimp. I did get a bite of the Penne pasta and it was almost as good as mine. Oh, and Dean enjoyed the bread… ♀️

Really interesting. I would highky reccomend visitng the capela dos ossos (chapel of bones) created from the exhumed skeletal remains of around 1000 monks. Right next door to a primary school so you stand there contemplating death whilst listening to Portugese children singing. Its an odd experience...

Ich hatte einen gemischten Salat und die Penne Arrabiata. Beides war frisch zubereitet und sehr gut. Herausragend war für mich die Arrabiata Soße, alle Zutaten waren frisch. Super. Weiter so. Das Serviceteam ist wirklich auch so hilfreich und nett, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Diz ter opções vegan, mas na realidade não há. Além de fazerem cara feia quando se pergunta se tem, o prato que disseram ser vegan veio com queijo, mesmo não havendo nenhuma informação no menu a respeito. Pessoas intolerantes a lactose devem ter atenção extra!

Très bon italien, sur une place située à l’écart des ruelles touristiques.
Large choix de pizzas et pâtes.
Les salades sont excellentes et copieuses.
Produits frais et de qualité.
Vin de la maison au verre.
Service impeccable et professionnel.

Delicious food and brilliant staff! So friendly with our children and super attentive. We both had specials and thet were really yummy! The bruschetta was advised on trip advisor and it was worth it! Delicious X

Zurückhaltender, hilfsbereiter und nicht aufdringlicher Service. Pizza ist sehr gut, Küche ist offen. Die Preise im Rahmen. Nettes Ambiente. Reservierung zu empfehlen.

He ido con mi pareja y hemos pedido para compartir una ensalada que estaba muy buena, una lasaña que están increíble por no decir la mejor que he comido y el tiramisu de ensueño, la atención de 10 y el lugar muy bonito y acogedor.

Situado em local calmo, com esplanada agradável e interior acolhedor. Simpático dos funcionários, ainda que um pouco stressados mas muito profissionalismo do Gerente (responsável de sala). Pizzas muito boas e sem demora na espera. Pontos menos bons a falta de luz na esplanada e o preço um pouco acima da média.

Perfect place for a meal, food was just amazing, service the same, very friendly when back in Faro will make sure we eat here again and the bill was unexpectedly cheap for the quality.

So glad I went here. Service was best I've received while in Portugal. Food was right on par with that. Every dish was amazing. I got a pizza. She got a pasta. It was amazing! Great job L'osteria

L'Osteria is a gem of Italian cuisine in Faro. The service is fantastic, and the decoration is a refreshing take of a summery and modern Ristorante. The Pizzaiolo makes one of the best Pizze I have had in Portugal over the years. Five-stars and quickly one of my go to places while in the Algarve.
