After the challenges of checking in, this place was charming. Figured out how to walk into town. Nice breakfast. Charming host with limited English. Lovely old house full of antiques.

Dont expect too much here. A converted Noblemans home - clean & neat, well located. No staff on site so need to call prior to arrival. Basic breakfast prepared by local woman who is very welcoming. It served our purposes as a place to sleep and is certainly an experience.

Grandes chambres avec un décor à l'ancienne. Grande salle de bain avec douche. Il arrive qu'il n'y ait plus d'eau chaude s'il y a du monde. La gérante est adorable et extrêmement gentille. Petit dejeuner copieux avec de nombreuses confitures faites maison et des petits bonbons pour les enfants

Primeiro o horario do check-in é até as 20h, entretanto não tem ninguém na casa para receber os hospedes, apenas 2 números de telefones e um não atende e o outro está desligado. Chegamos por volta das 18h e ficamos 2 horas no frio de 4 graus tentando resolver a situação com o booking. Fomos até outro hotel, e o senhor muito prestável, pegou o telefone e ligou para a dona casa do Comendador, Dona Patricia, que imediatamente mandou a Dona Teresa ir lá nos receber. Reservamos o quarto duplo e nos colocaram em um quarto inferior, no qual a luz do banheiro não funcionava, a cama era desconfortável e se ouvia tudo o queos outros hospedes diziam e faziam nos outros quartos. A ideia da casa de 1800 é boa, mas a a excecução é muito ruim e com certeza tem outras casas com melhor custo benefício.

I loved the house a such. ***** for decor and view. But the beds were more like an instrument of torture for tall Dutchmen. The proprietor promised me I would find the bed fitting my size next time. I will definitely go back to try that bed and enjoy the hospitality. Patricia the great-granddaughter of the original Comendador turned her great grandparents home into a warm and inviting bed and breakfast. The house looks as if the original owners are just away for a moment. All their expensive furniture is there. The house gives you a view into how rich Portuguese families used and use to live. The breakfast was great with homemade jams and marmalade. Excellent coffee from a 2018 machine. Great bathroom and lots of space. Having breakfast in the dining room with its original furniture in place was a treat. I will go back and advise anyone going to Manteigas to book here. If you need a restaurant reservation ask the owner she got us a table on carnival Sunday which was no easy task.

Really enjoyed my stay at this house, accommodation is basic but very clean - would recommend this place but they should invest in a coffee machine at breakfast or perhaps team & coffee facilities in the rooms.

Ficar em uma casa do ano de 1800, é uma experiência fantástica... Adorei o hotel. Tino foi quem nos recebeu dando todas as dicas. Excelente pessoa, sempre que voltar a serra, é aqui que ficarei, e digo, não percam a chance de ficar nesta casa.
