Just returned from a week with my family. Apartment was basic enough but comfortable.
It was large and spacious with air conditioning and the use of two bathrooms for a family of 5 a major plus., corrior to the room was dark in the evening and lighting could be improved upon.
The pool area was lovely, clean and very well kept. My children loved it.
We had half board so breakfast and dinner was included in our stay, the food choices we had were very good esp for breakfast.
I can't compliment the staff enough for their pleasant, courteous manner.
Genuinely friendly people who were a pleasure to deal with.
Location wise be prepared to walk or get a taxi to get anywhere.
Minor issue though though and I would be happy to recommend it as a suitable place for families.

Pontos positivos exterior: boa entrada e receção funcionarios muito simpaticos dispostos a ajudar no que for preciso espaço calmo para quem quer passar umas ferias sem barulhos a volta bom espaço para estacionamento.
Pontos positivos interior: casa de banho cozinha sala e quarto bem estimados e limpos
Pontos a melhorar interior: porta da varanda a precisar de rodas novas pois encravava a abrir e a fechar de vez em quando elevador abana um bocado mas nunca la fiquei preso frigorifico so funcionava a parte de congelação mas ja foi comunicado na rececao para seguir para reparação

Accueil et personnel chaleureux,cet établissement est très bien disposé de snack,resto, salle sport, spa en plus des équipements classiques.tres bien situé. Je reviendrai.

Отель хороший. Но еда однообразная. И на завтрак, и на ужин. Почему-то нет в ассортименте жареного мяса. Мало рыбных блюд. Персонал работает чётко. До центра можно добраться только вызвав такси. Пешком быстрым шагом наперерез можно дойти минут за 45. Бесплатный интернет только в фойе. В номерах - платный. До дикого пляжа 10 минут, но пляж очень уютный (в скалах) и живописный.

Långt till det mesta, ligger of. 800m till stranden med backar. Frukosten var riktigt dåligt. Maten på restaurangen likaså.
Väldigt kallt i poolen, I övrigt fint poolområde
Trevlig personal, men utan leverans på något.
Vill man bara vara vid pool och inte se något annat är det bra... Lägg hellre till lite för att komma närmre strand och Portimao...

Bem localizado e fácil acesso, zona sossegada com espaços exteriores bem cuidados, recepção com funcionários simpáticos e prestáveis dos restantes não tenho opinião dado que a estadia foi curta.
Mas então eis que começa o desagrado, assim que chegamos tivemos de pedir papel higiénico, pedi para repararem o autoclismo dado que tínhamos de fechar a torneira de segurança para não se desperdiçar agua mas o mesmo assim ficou até sairmos. A limpeza deixa muito a desejar principalmente da casa de banho, que apesar da estadia ter sido só de duas noites, nunca foi devidamente limpa dado que tendo o chão claro, os cabelos foram os mesmos até ao fim da estadia. Logo na primeira noite ao jantar qual é surpresa que temos mais uma hospede na cozinha, uma enorme barata.
Resolvida a questão da enorme hospede, resolvo consultar o email e após algumas tentativas sem sucesso ao ler o folheto do hotel, "ficámos de boca aberta", o hotel cobra ao hospede 4,00€ SIM QUATRO EUROS por um período de três dias por cada dispositivo utilizado no apartamento
o jacuzzi paga-se a piscina interior paga-se, simplesmente surreal.
No dia seguinte ao regressar da praia a minha filha quis ir à piscina, que apesar estarmos em Outubro a temperatura ainda convida a uns mergulhos os quais foram impossibilitados dado que não se conseguia ver o fundo pela água completamente suja. Deixo um conselho, ler os comentários antes de efectuar as reservas.

Piscina imunda. Átrio sem requinte, sem vida, e espaços à volta do átrio (lojas, salas de convívio) completamente obsoletos e desaprovditados. Mini piscina interior paga. Ridículo. Estão a milhas de distância de outra unidades hoteleiras com características e preços semelhantes. A água do chuveiro era um fio.

However some young staff at reception one man in particular has a very bad attitude and any questions you have is met with a mocking laugh
Estrella you need to get him out if you dont want to lose our custom and others who U heard with similar complaints because of him I rate our visir 6 out of 10

Nice standard Hotel, we had a nice big room with terrace on ground floor. We had a cheap last minute Tripp so for the money most worth it. But if l had too pay full price l would not like that the are charging for wi-fi and safety depossit.

Helt ok hotel. Ligger lugnt, inte överdrivet långt till något. Restaurangen är inte den bästa och lämnar lite att önska, bättre att gå ner till promenad stråket eller så för att äta. Wifi på rummet kostar extra.

Alojamento espaçoso mas muito marcado pelo tempo. A decoração está já bastante descontextualizada e, mais grave, os materiais estão envelhecidos e com demasiado uso que fazem desconfiar, pelo ar amarelecido ou então enegrecido, de alguma falta de higienização ( mas, em princípio, é só mesmo por excesso de uso). Bastante desagradável é o facto de ter de se pagar o acesso à internet nos apartamentos. Em suma, para umas férias de alguns dias, o espaço corresponde perfeitamente; para um equipamento de 4 estrelas, fica no ar alguma desilusão.

É a segunda vez que aqui venho, e desta vez fiquei desiludido. Serviço de quartos sofrível; não respeitam os períodos de muda das toalhas, desde o início até me ir embora havia uma toalha com uma mancha que nunca foi mudada; tive que ir à receção pedir que tirassem o lixo, o funcionário de quem até tinha boa impressão (todos os outros excelentes profissionais) disse-me que tinham que ser os hóspedes a despeja-lo, mas depois de reclamar lá começou a correr tudo bem nesse aspecto.
Wifi, nos quartos só pagando
Programação dos jogos de futebol no bar toda virada para os ingleses e espanhóis, em 9 dias nunca vi futebol português.
Resumindo um 3 estrelas com classificação de 4.

Acomodamento Bastante aceitável e pessoal simpático. Achei incrível pagar por WiFi e descobrir que se tem de pagar por cada dispositivo. Não havia necessidade de tal descortesia. Duche péssimo.

Inserido numa zona muito calma apesar de perto do centro de Portimão. Excelente piscina exterior. Tem ainda um parque para crianças além de bar e papelaria. Tem praia muito perto.

This hotel was lovely the rooms very big, the pools are lovely great for families, you get free WiFi only down in the lobby you have to pay for it in rooms, only thing we didn't like was some staff not very helpful, didn't no anything about what we asked markets or buses etc or anything nice to do, didn't tell us that the beech was not far to walk only 15(mins) and it's a lovely walk 2, or anything useful just looked at us cause we asked a few questions.

La ubicación es excelente y las habitaciones muy confortables. La limpieza no es buena, sólo retiran los residuos, no limpian. Poca disponibilidad de reposeras en el área de la piscina. Con un poco más de atención podrían hacer de este lugar un ambiente aún más confortable!

Geen 4 sterren waardig hotel. Achterstallig onderhoud, keukenkastjes hangen schreef, tegeltjes in de douche en toilet zijn vies en kapot. Badkuip niet meer schoon te krijgen. De schoonmaak vergeet soms bedden en handdoeken te verschonen. Het zijn deels appartementen van eigenaren en niet van het hotel waardoor je zomaar een papagaai die veel lawaai maakt naast je krijgt. Het is erg gehorig en we hebben veel last van luidruchtige Engels boven ons. De zonnebedden mafia is ook hier aan de orde. 's morgens rent iedereen om zijn handdoek neer te leggen.... Enfin het behoeft geen verdere uitleg. Voor alles moet je betalen, wifi, kluisje in de kamer.... Onbegrijpelijk voor een 4 sterren hotel. Niet boeken.

Apartamento espaçoso, bem como a varanda. Boa localização, numa zona tranquila com fáceis acessos a Portimão e Alvor, por exemplo.
Simpatia dos funcionários da receção. Muitos lugares para estacionamento e muitos deles à sombra de árvores.
Não gostei do serviço de quarto pois foi dito que a muda de toalhas era de dois em dois dias o que não aconteceu, muda de lençóis ao fim de três dias não aconteceu reposição de produtos de higiene não aconteceu. Foi necessário pedir para mudar as toalhas e repor os produtos de higiene (um frasquinho de 30ml de champô e um sabonete de 15 gr para uma semana… ninguém consegue manter uma higiene minimamente adequada...)
Limpeza da casa de banho deixava muito a desejar, durante a semana de estadia o espelho nunca foi limpo e, por vezes o lavatório estava sujo. A banheira danificada e com um chuveiro “ultrapassado”, a precisar de rápida remodelação…
A cozinha apesar de ter loiça e utensílios para cozinhar (tacho e frigideira), o número de unidades de talheres são insuficientes. Sempre que era utilizado um garfo, uma colher para confecionar a refeição era necessário lava-la para poder ser novamente utilizada na refeição propriamente dita… faz falta outras pequenas coisas como um saca rolhas/abre caricas, um escorregador, um forno para se poder
Wifi só na receção é que é gratuita, nos quartos terá de ser pago, nos dias de hoje não faz qualquer sentido assim como, ter que pagar para ter acesso ao cofre que está no quarto.
Para deslocar as portas do armário de parede (no quarto), era necessário comer um “bom bife primeiro”

Loved the complex, very clean, apartment huge, got what I paid for. Pool area lovely.
On the down side, no inflatables or balls allowed in the pool for the children and no activities for teenagers. When I asked about the inflatables and balls, 3 different members of staff could not give me an answer. When I spoke to the manager she said it was policy and there is signs at the pool. I advised to put this policy on their website and Sunways should also advise their customers as I paid big money for a family holiday. Also at the pool bar, the older man was very rude on a number of occasions to me and other people. He refused to serve my daughter takeaway chips as "he was too busy"
Another day I asked for more ice and he rolled his eyes at me, a paying customer.
The shop is very minimal but the lady who works there is very nice and friendly.
One lifeguard was horrible, there was a screaming match at the pool at 9.45am one morning because he removed towels at 9.30am and a woman's handbag from her lounger . I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. I was asked to remove a ball from the pool by the lifeguard because it was offensive???. It should be noted I bought this ball in the hotel shop.
I am just back from 2 weeks staying at this hotel but might not visit again.
Wouldn't recommend to families unless u want to entertain your children yourself.

Hotel com ambiente super calmo e agradável. Excelente para quem quer passar uns dias apenas a relaxar já que, para além dos serviços normais do próprio Hotel, nas instalações tem também mini-mercado e snack-bar que serve refeições. Espaço exterior bonito e muito grande. Staff muito simpático e prestável. Bem situado.

Horrendo, do pior que há, já estive hospedado em diversos locais por este mundo fora, esta foi sem dúvida a minha pior experiência, desde baratas, cabelos, pelos púbicos, falta de higiene total, também saliento também os funcionários muito mal formados. 1 estrela de avaliação é muito abonatória a este local, deveria ser 0 mesmo.

Basic requests like kitchen equipment (chef knife or any other than bread knife, manual orange juice squeeze) were neglected several times. Those are not expensive. Service and staff not on a good level. Didnt feel like Portugal e.g. In a bar i ordered and paid for fresh squeezed juice. Instead I got carton one. When complained i got response - yes but then I would need to take more time to squeeze it! Sic! Isnt that what I paid for?

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in June 2019. Our family of 5 (kids 6, 8, 10) had a two bedroom apartment which was very specious and cleaned to a high standard daily. We travelled on a half board Package, which was excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful in every department and the animation team tried hard to engage the kids. Food was of a good standard, with about four hot main dishes each evening to choose from. We always had enough choice. Pool was clean and the poolside cafe and onsite shop were handy. The beach was about 15 mins walk down a moderate hill - might be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. This is a gorgeous location in the Algarve and we would highly recommend it and would love to return in the future. Also thank you to the hotel management who gifted me a bottle of wine for my birthday :)

Quiet hotel, very clean everywhere, WiFi in all rooms. Two pools now joined into one L-shaped pool. Been here about ten times now and will probably come again. Please leave your clogs and stilettos at home as the floors are tiled and the noise generated by silly footwear isn't acceptable to people living on floors below you.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super. In 5 Minuten ist man an einem tollen Strand (Praia Do Vau). Mit dem sehr günstigen Hoteltransfer (eine Fahrt 1,50 Euro) erreicht man alle umliegenden Orte. Das Ambiente des Hotels ist sehr schön und hat einen portugiesischen Stil. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und wird durch das frische Obst aufgewertet. Die ersten Tage war das Abendessen leider für den Preis nicht angemessen und enttäuschend. Allerdings wurde es zum Ende wesentlich besser. Der Grillabend ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Sportsbar ist leider nur teilweise zu empfehlen. die Cocktails sind sehr günstig und schmecken super. Das Sportprogramm orientiert sich leider sehr stark am englischen Fußball. Das bedeutet, dass beispielsweise ein bedeutungsloses CL Spiel mit englischer Beteiligung gezeigt wird und kein "Top Spiel". Der Ort Do Vau eignet sich nicht für einen typischen Touristen Urlaub. Es gibt kaum Bars oder Läden. Der Ort Alvor bietet hingegen sehr viel und ist mit dem Hoteltransfer in 5 Minuten zu erreichen.

Apartamentos razoáveis, com umas áreas e varandas interessantes, dispõe de todo o material necessário para a confecção da comida. Serviço de limpeza por vezes não vem.. Serviço de internet é pago! Restaurante deixa muito a desejar, pouco apropriado para crianças e às x até para adultos, repetindo pratos diariamente. Espaço exterior interessante. Tem um piscina engraçada. Bar da piscina parece um tasco, usam todos os espaços da parede para enunciar as bebidas que servem e os funcionários não são nada simpáticos!

É um Hotel de ótima qualidade com uma piscina grande, um staff pronto a ajudar em tudo e com animação de manhã até à noite tanto para crianças como adultos. Os quartos têm condições ótimas para a estadia e o serviço de jantar e pequeno almoço é de ótima qualidade!
Recomendo imenso para uma estadia agradável numa das melhores zonas do Algarve!

Estive neste hotel em Agosto durante uma semana com meia pensão. Hotel já antigo mas com condições. Apartamento agradável e com uma boa limpeza. Staff disponível para ajudar. Pequeno-almoço razoável, jantar muito mau. Houve noites que às 20h já não havia comida. Pouca variedade e qualidade... uma das noites havia salsichas e hambúrguer...para um hotel de 4 estrelas. Spa fechado e todas as noites havia imenso barulho.piscina sem wc ...Foi uma desilusão.

Hotel 4*, que de facto é um hotel 4*... É antigo e nao possui o requinte de um 4* mais recente, de qualquer forma correspondeu exatamente a tudo o que tinha projetado aquando da reserva. Apartamentos de tamanho generoso, equipados com o essencial, ar condicionado cofre e eletrodomésticos. Limpeza eficiente e dentro do transmitido no check in. Vim com regime de meia pensão, peq. almoço bastante variado e de boa qualidade, jantar não tão variado mas de tudo o que comi nao posso criticar nada porque a confecção é bastante boa. Agora o mais importante para mim, os filhos, aqui têm tudo, otimas piscinas, exteriores e interiores, spa, parques, espaço, entretenimento à tarde na piscina, sala de babysitting, e tranquilidade. Staff à altura das exigências, simpáticos e competentes. Gostei e vou voltar!

Mauvaise gestion de leur clientèle ingérable qui s’imagine être dans la rue d’Albufeira ... musique no stop, hurlements, claquements de porte ... un seul agent de sécurité pour gérer ces débordements. Un conseil ne pas louer l’année prochaine à la même époque .....

For a 4 star hotel, the decor and maintenance (especially of the rooms) leaves a lot to be desired.I have been in this hotel ha + - 15 years, and the decoration / presentation of the rooms is the same, being that the maintenance conditions are weak, the bathroom is flushed down, lavatory without furniture only with support of lavatorio and tubing in sight, cracked tiles and very out of fashion.Compensated with the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the pool, and the memory of the visit and memories of years ago.

Very helpful and friendly staff . Nice breakfast . The rooms are a nice size and the Pool a good size without that blaring music going on all day . I used the gym which is free to Guests and the Gym Instructors were very helpful when I needed help . They have free weights and a few weight machines plus Running and rowing machines .
Had a very enjoyable 10 days with the family and will be booking into Estrela Do Vau again .

This has been outer 8th time here at this hotel and as always we have never been disappointed, they are always there to assist with any issue you have. Very family oriented . Great pools lots of sun beds around the pool area. You can hire towels for your stay there is a deposit per towel but this is refunded once you bring the towel back. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel . Free WiFi in the reception area and WiFi is aviable in the room but you have to pay for it but we’ll worth it

Friendly and helpful staff. The room had a good size and the balcony was great with a great view over the swimming pool. The outdor swimming pool was good, great for adults and kids.
The location is good at 15m walk from Praia do Vau (maybe a little longer with small kids).
The hotel is a little old and it seems to be needing maintenance in some areas.
Honestly, I also didn't understand the WiFi policy, that it's only available for free on reception area, was the first time I stayed on a hotel without free WiFi on all hotel ( I paid 4 euros to have for 3 days WiFi on bedroom for one device and even then the network was incredibly slow). The beds were small and unconfortable (at least to us).

Enjoyed our stay at Estrela do Vau.The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself was excellent value for money in a wonderful location..Our only concerns were the beds which we felt were not up to standard and if satellite tv is promoted then you would expect something more than just Sky News .Allowing for these concerns we would willingly come back to Estrela do Vau again.

We stayed here half board in March. It was very affordable, the food was good, the hotel is kept clean, and the area is nice and quiet. However, don't expect anything beyond the basics. The pool was freezing cold and the kids pool didn't ever seem to get cleaned. Most (but not all) reception staff were unhelpful and indifferent. The receptionist that checked us in was kind enough to to have put some food aside for us as we checked in after the restaurant closed.
The hotel bar is expensive. If you are arriving in the evening make sure to bring your own bottled water. There is a small supermarket attached to the hotel but it is only open from 9 to 2 Monday to Friday. A heads up that there are no bottle openers or can openers supplied in the apartment kitchenette.
There is a beautiful quiet beach, Praia do Vau, a 15 minute walk away.
Overall, a nice clean and quiet budget hotel but don't set your expectations too high

Fizeram para pagar uma TV que caiu. Nunca mais vou lá. Tive lá hospedado desde setembro até dezembro e nunca mais.. foi uma péssima experiência.

Advertised as a 4 Star on trip adviser but it most certainly is not . Pool is tiny , the staff can be very rude , and the Bar attached to it is the most expensive place we where in while we where there. I suppose it is the most central hotel in the very centre of the town next door to the very busy church . The price was very high and the rooms where not very big at all .
The did accommodate us with a room change but in general where very rude and very dismissive on anything we asked for . would not stay again .

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Rooms are spacious and clean but a little dated. The bathrooms are a letdown, outdated and showers are brutal. Outside the pool area is very nice. However the sports bar is a bit of a dive. This probably was a four star in its day but it would need a bit of investment to bring it back to that. I give it three stars.

Very pleasant hotel. Nice and helpful staff in the reception.
A good large pool area, with a big main pool and a smaller for the children. Could use some more sunbeds, but that usually wasn't a problem. Some of the sunbeds were unfortunately broken (incline function), and should be mended or replaced. Pretty good rentable tennis court.
Airconditioned rooms, with normal spanish/portugeise standards. Some minor malfunctions with the lights, nothing serious.
A bit far for walking every day to and from "the strip", in Praia da rocha, were most resturants are located, but taxis are not hard to find.
I recommend this hotel for familes and couples.

Great staff. Good breakfast. Maybe a bit late with the the cleaning but not terrible. Pool is a great way to cool down in the sun but few sunbeds so be sure to pick a good time to take a dip. The hotell is at a great location since its far enough to be away from noisy clubs and close enough to walk to a convenient store. Overall i will give it 5 stars ✨

Sehr nettes Personal, Nachteil wenn man direkt im Rondell ein Zimmer hat ist es bis spät in die Nacht sehr laut, das Klischee mit den liegen am Pool bewahrheitet sich da überall schon Handtücher liegen auf den Stühlen obwohl niemand am Pool ist also früh aufstehen (9uhr) um das selbige dann zutun ansonsten kann ich nur sagen das es sich gelohnt hat,waren schöne 2 Wochen.

Fantastic Time and Stay at the Hotel. It has everything you require. Beautiful setting, rooms are what you want when you go on holidays! My only complaint would be the local hotel supermarket can be a little expensive for items however it does save you a trip into town and a walk with all the groceries. Staff our fantastic!! Sports Bar is great and well priced!!

Lovely Hotel on it's own grounds overlooking Alto Golf Course.Reception staff are excellent and very helpful. Nice pool area with coffee shop. Good size Bar but very quiet when we were there. Restaurant very disappointing, Buffet style evening meal of chicken wings and fish fingers. Local bus service is good but very unreliable. Taxi required to visit bars and Restaurants etc in Alvor, Portimao or Praia de Roche. Praia Do Vau is within walking distance and a visit to Partimononia Restaurant is a must.

It is in a lovely location. Easy access to beach less than 10 mins away. Courtesy Bus to local areas. Nice walk to Alvor, Praia da Vau and Praia da Rocha . 5 to 6 mins from Portimao by car or taxi. Staff very helpful and friendly. A lot of trips can be accessed from this place. Good value. Great restaurants all around the locality.

Nothing was working as promised. No hot water, no internet, no phone, not enough towels or blankets, sofa beds unfitted for sleep, and above all no costumer service. The staff wasn't helpful at all because they needed everything approved by the manager. Or so they said. Kept waiting for a meeting with the manager that was set by the desk, but instead after a long wait, was offered to get kick out of the hotel. Never have I been so mistreated in my life.

None of the facilities advertised were available during our stay. The pool was under maintenance, table tennis was in storage and the tennis court has no net. We also booked a room with a double bed and arrived to 2 twin beds. Its took 2 days to change us to a double bed and the staff were far from helpful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Mixed feelings about this place. Hotel was clean and well maintained. 2 bed apartment was a great size and very comfortable and very clean. Hotel staff were very professional and friendly and interacted well with the kids and laid on as much entertainment as the kids were interested in. Hotel grounds however, were a little bit on the shabby side, (as was the general neighbourhood to be fair) no Mini golf course as advertised and two tennis courts were unusable due to lack of netting and dirt. Still expected to pay €10 per person to use them though. Pool area was clean and well maintained but merely functional.Biggest problem though was the food. For a four star hotel the food was disgusting. Buffet breakfasts were cold and unappetizing as well as the buffet meals in the supposed restaurant. Only way to describe the food there was thrown together I have to stress the point that I was not the only guest to feel the same was. most of the guests we chatted with felt the same way. Great hotel, shocking food for 4 stars. Guests staying in the hotel on a full or half board were disgusted by the food on offer.

I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly, including service staff at the restaurant. The rooms are huge and have a kitchen, so you can make meals on your own for longer stays. Everything is clean and wonderful, has dishes and all you need. I didn't visit the pool because its walking distance from an awesome beach. Overall, I would come back and stay again, good for the money.

Just back from really great two week family holiday here with three children of 14,12 and 8 yrs old. Apartments and balcony areas are spacious and spotlessy clean, was cleaned every day. The apartment was freshly painted. There is a short cut to the beach, which makes it just a 5 min walk. Taxis are required to get to Praia de Rocha or Alvor in the evening to eat out, both areas are quite busy. Personally, I preferred Alvor, but there is something for everyone between the two. There is a good snack bar by the pool which provides adeqate choice of decent food, for lunch or dinner even if you choose to stay in a couple of nights. There are two pools, and the entertainment staff put 100% effort into their job, organising water polo, which suited the teenagers too and entertaining the younger ones in the evening at the bar. They played the same music every evening, which was a little trying!! Overall, the whole family had a wonderful holiday and we hope to return next year.

Rooms on shady side of hotel were cold in the morning and in the evenings as no heating. We were there in May so the room will most likely be warmer later in the season. Staff were a little unhelpful when dealing with requests, like an ironing board, had to ask 3 times! Didn't know where the local market was or when it was on either. Very quiet at night, not a lot to do as no entertainment other than the bar. Breakfasts good enough, had range of fruit, coffee machine, basic hot food for breakfast and range of bread. Replaced the towels in the room and emptied the rubbish daily. On first impression the room was clean but when you looked closer the surfaces could do with a good scrub, the bathroom had a bit of mould and the bathtub has got white paint for some reason which kept coming off on our feet, the ice-box in the fridge freezer was dirty and the filter in the coffee machine was well used and would need replacing before hygienic/clean enough to use (didn't use the coffee maker in room anyway). The hairdryer provided in the bathroom was way too hot, had one heat setting, would recommend taking a travel hairdryer with you. Personally wouldn't choose to stay there again mainly due to location, it's good if you play golf as right near the golfing range, otherwise it's a bit out the way, luckily we had a car to get around in.

My wife and I have been to this property many times in the past and this time we spent a great week with our extended family in three appartments.The staff were excellent in accomodating all of us in adjacent rooms which involved an upgrade for two families from studio to 1 bed appartment - something they didnt have to do. Although the room facilities are a little bit tired they are extremely clean and all functional.Wi-fi in the lobby is ok but would be better if available in all appartments.The property is centrally located for the three resort areas of Portimao, Praia Da Rocha and Alvor although this involves a short (cheap) taxi ride unless you enjoy walking.The outside areas, including pools, were clean and tidy.We will definitely return again to this family friendly property.

Das Appartement war sehr geräumig, sogar 1 Zimmer mehr erhalten als bestellt. Da Vorsaison ruhig und nicht überlaufen.Küche sollte etwas besser ausgestattet sein.Sehr leichthörig -Stühlerutschen von oben sehr laut. Kein Wlan im Zimmer und bei der Rezeption waren beide Gäste PC ausser Betrieb. Gestört hat mich auch die nichtfunktionierenden Duschen (Hygiene?) am Pool. Für den Preis sonst aber angenehm.

A great place to stay. Its away from all activities and noise. If you want to relax stress free then this is the place for you. However to go anywhere like restaurants, nightclubs etc it is 2km from everything then you will need to get taxis. The staff are very polite and helpful. Overall I will go there again and again.

We stayed at Estrela de Vau 4 years ago and we were pleased to see that the hotel had been very well maintained since then. There was an indoor swimming pool under construction during our visit and we were accommodated well away from any potential disturbance.Staff throughout were very friendly and helpful. Our 1 bed apartment was spacious and nicely decorated, with daily cleaning service and towel change. The only drawback was the location, 10 min walk to beach and half hour walk to Alvor,a car would be best, although taxis are readily available.We are very happy to recommend Estrela de Vau.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Hotel/Apartmentkomplex Estrela do Vau sehr genossen. Es ist eine Anlage für Familien, aber auch für Paare.Im Zimmer sind kleinere Mängel aufgefallen wie z.B. ein defektes Licht beim Kochherd und eine Schublade im Schrank war nicht gut befestigt. Ansonsten ist die Ausstattung super. Die Küchenausstattung mit Mikrowelle, Toaster, Kaffekocher, Geschirr, Besteck, Bratpfannen, Töpfe und Kochzubehör war super.Was uns ein wenig gestört hat, ist, dass das Zimmer nur gereinigt wurde, wenn man das Reinigungsschild an die aussenseite der Türe befestigte. Wir sind es uns gewohnt, dass das Zimmer täglich gereinigt wird. Also unser Rat: das Schild täglich raushängen:)Ohne Auto ist es schwierig, die wirklich schönen Strände zu erreichen. Auch das Einkaufen könnte schwierig werden. Das Hotel verfügt zwar über einen einen kleinen Laden, der aber ziemlich teuer ist. Die Taxipreise nach Portimao halten sich jedoch in Grenzen und die Fahrt dauert nicht lange.Fazit: Es waren sehr schöne, entspannende Ferien. Wir empfehlen diese Anlage auf jeden Fall weiter.

Das Hotel liegt für einen Sommerurlaub zu weit vom schönen Strand entfernt. Ob es zu der Jahres- zeit einen Shuttlebus gibt, konnten wir über Weihnachten nicht feststellen. Zum Restaurant-Service können wir keine Aussage machen, da wir es nicht aufgesucht haben, da es wenig besucht war und wir ein Apartement hatten. Die Sauberkeit in den Fluren und in unserem Bad ließ allerdings etwas zu wünschen übrig. Die Anlage selbst und der Außenbereich sind sehr schön und gepflegt.
