Best dinner I’d ever had in Portugal! Reis is full of warmth, hospitality, delicate and fresh food as well. The sangria here also makes me remind many past memories in my hometown. Appreciate Reis to give us such a lovely night :)

Had a wonderful dinner here. Like many restaurants in Lagos (as we are discovering) it is small and has a cozy warm atmosphere with friendly attentive service. Soup appetizers were very tasty. Fish, almond crusted sole and boiled halibut steak, was fresh and delicious.

my first visit to Lagos, first visit to Portugal.. with amazing friends.. so we asked some local people which restaurant they recommend for good food, clear winner was Restaurant Reis, what a restaurant , very friendly stuff, restaurant runner by family many years, food in there is phenomenal taste, what an amazing atmosphere , service quality, tastiness of food is so good .. I tried local Portuguese dish, cataplana , heaven is sea food with pork in it , if I visit back to Lagos, I'll be back to this restaurant , recommend definitely to visit this restaurant

No excesivamente rápidos, pero como casi todos en Algarve se toman su tiempo. Comida muy muy buena, tanto platos típicos como pescado. Camareros muy agradables, y precio en la media

Total überbewertet. Vorspeise Melone mit Schinken. Die Melone kam direkt aus dem Kühlschrank und war zum Teil noch nicht reif. Das Hauptgericht Schweinefleisch mit Vemismuscheln. Das Schweinefleisch war zäh und verwachsen. Die Muscheln waren ganz okay. Absolutes Touri-Restaurant.

You must try the pork loin in fig sauce!!! It was so good, the meat was so soft and the sauce was amazing. Now I need to learn how to make a fig sauce that tastes as good as this restaurant. The cataplana was also good but not as good as the pork loin!!

Très déçu par rapport à la réputation du restaurant. Nous avons pris pour deux riz à la lotte et aux crevettes en résumé deux petits morceaux de lotte et trois crevettes et le riz baignant dans la sauce.....

Cataplana à la lotte et crevette avec 4 palourdes jouant à cache cache, sans saveur, sauce tomate délavée.
Ce n'est pas la meilleure Cataplana du Portugal n'en déplaise les aficionados.
Encore un mythe qui s'écroule.
Il restait le resto L' adiga typica a forja mais le proprio a changé et la nourriture aussi. Et les prix aussi ✈️
Il ne reste donc que des pièges à touristes à Lagos.

Questo ristorantino per le vie del centro di Lagos propone piatti tipicamente portoghesi e, per la loro qualità, si distingue da altre centinaia di ristoranti prettamente turistici.
Il personale è disponibile e sorridente e i prezzi sono accessibili. Inviterei chiunque ad andarci, stando così alla larga dai ristoranti turistici.

Comida especialmente buena. De 5 días que hemos estado en Lagos 4 días hemos comido en éste restaurante. El trato de los camareros muy amable. La comida muy muy buena.. en especial la ensalada de pulpo y el salmón y pez espada a la brasa. Para la cena si llegas a las 8 ya empieza a haber gente esperando mesa, pero va rápido. De los pocos sitios que verás gente esperando para sentarse a cenar, y eso es por algo.

Authentische portugiesische Küche, freundliche Bedienung. Die Wartezeit haben wir gerne in Kauf genommen. Gute Weinauswahl. Preise sind noch angemessen. Reservierung ist ratsam, sehr touristisch. Keine Parkmöglichkeiten in der näheren Umgebung.

En Lagos hay muuuuchos sitios donde meterse a comer, pero en éste se nota que la cocina y la atención a los clientes lo llevan lugareños. Te sirven con atención e incluso tienen detalles como traer aparte un ración de arroz con mariscos SIN CILANTRO aparte para mis niñas...! Ojo, son raciones supergenerosas...

We were lucky enough to find this place in Lagos after doing a google search for best reviewed restaurants in the area we were in because there were just way too many options while walking around old town...the reviews we read were spot on! We had the cataplana w monkfish and prawns and could not have been happier!..order extra bread to soak up the sauce! Even my sons fish sticks were tasty! My wife and I fought for his leftovers...to...dunk in the sauce! Haha

Ordered 5 dishes and 4 out of the 5 were really good. They were basic dishes that complemented the flavor of the main vs layering it in different flavors. So when you ask for grilled lamb, you get grilled lamb. Not lamb marinated in mango sauce glazed in octopus ink and fire kissed in an electric brick oven. The only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars was because one dish was practically inedible. We had the grilled squid, which in the beginning was really good. But 2 out of the 3 squids were so carbonized that it just tasted like soft delicate carbon. It really was a shame. I kept looking at other people's tables eyeing their food and then looking at mine. The squid was aslo the special of the day. So there was no excuse for it to be done bad.

Excellent Cataplana
We ordered small bottle of water, bread, bottle of vinho de casa, and the fish cataplana. We have followed a number of cataplana recipes back home that are rather heavy and would be considered a winter dish but believe me the dish served here is light. Layers of onion, capsicum, sliced potatoes, chunks of deseeded tomatoes finished with monkfish and prawns with bunches of coriander and mint stuffed in between cooked in a light broth. It was delicious. Total cost for two €45.70 another restaurant we will be returning to.

Хотели попасть в ресторан Casinha do Petisco и попробовать рыбную Cataplana.. Окозалось, нужно было резервировать столик, а катаплану заказывать за 1 день. Задали в Гугле ресторан неподалеку и зашли в Reis. Очень уютный ресторан, намного больше первого, куда мы не попали. Cataplana превзошла все наши ожидания! Обязательно попробуйте!Очень приятный персонал и быстро обслужили.

Wir wurden aufgrund der guten Empfehlungen aufmerksam. Zu unserer Freude gab es als Tagesangebot "Espada", welcher von der Menge mehr aus ausreichend war. Jedoch hätte er etwas länger gegrillt bzw.mit Knoblauch verfeinert sein können. Die Portion inkl.Salat und Gemüse war sehr groß. Was uns jedoch nicht gefiel, dass Convert ( in unserem Fall Brot, Butter) pro Person berechnet wurde. So kenne ich das nicht aus Portugal. Ebenso war der Service etwas langsam...daher ein Stern Abzug!

Lagos est une ville merveilleuse, la population est très accueillante !
Pour manger des plats typiques d’Algarve et du Portugal, le restaurant Reis est le meilleur, j’en ai essayé beaucoup et celui-ci sort du clairement du lot. Le rapport qualité prix est imbattable, je vous conseille la Cataplane Palourdes et Crevettes avec un verre de TintoRosso et son porc aux figues !

Very good Fisch (specially "tamboril cataplana)... así for spoons before they take the pot away since the juice is too delicious to be through the away. The dish for two people is really worth it, super good portioned.

Un petit resto sympa dans le vieux Lagos. Les plats sont bons, les prix peu excessifs et le service niquel. Pour les prix, pour deux personnes nous en avons eu pour 50 euros avec entrée, plat, dessert et verre de vin.

Fui a este restaurante para experimentar a cataplana de amêijoas e carne de porco. Que Desilusão!!!
Metade da cataplana era tomate, a carne de porco estava seca e não parecia fresca.

Authentic atmosphere and excellent service by the friendly staff!
We had the absolutely delicious monk fish stew, which unfortunately we could not finish, that is how huge the portion for two is! And for me this is the tastiest fish stew ever!
I'll always remember it as one of the best meals I've had.

Auf Empfehlung dort essen gewesen um eine landestypische Cataplana zu genießen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr frisch und reichhaltig, preislich absolut in Ordnung. Einzig das Ambiente empfand ich persönlich als ein wenig zu spartanisch und touristisch, aber der Service hat das wieder wett gemacht, alle auf Zack dort.

Ristorante carino a due passi dalla passeggiata al mare e dal centro storico. Personale gentile e ottimo servizio. Il menù spazia fra carne e pesce passando attraverso i piatti tradizionali portoghesi, come la Cataplana. Buona la scelta dei vini, bianchi e rossi e ampia la scelta anche dei dessert. Non è grandissimo, meglio prenotare. Prezzi in linea con la località.

Prawns very mushy, not fresh and not de veined. Pork was over boiled. Pointed out the problems with the food and the manager came out very aggressively. Needs Gordon Ramsay to pay him a visit. Don’t be fooled just because this place is busy. Food quality is poor.

*WARNING* Service was good. Octopus salad starter was excellent. Opted for the speciality sharer for main. Prawns, clams and pork cataplana. Prawns were not fresh and de veined. The pork was boiled to death. Clams were good. We asked the waiter about the prawns and he said this was normal. The manager came out soon after in a bad mood declaring “Do you know how many of these I sell each day?” I replied “too many.” Really busy place but surprised on mixed the food quality was. Manager could not accept the negative feedback. Choose your restaurant wisely.

Mangiato benissimo e a prezzi economici
Per assaggiare tutto abbiamo preso come antipasto un polipo in insalata e poi baccalà, pesce misto e seppie tutto alla griglia servito in porzioni belle abbondanti e soprattutto con un buon contorno di carote broccoli e insalata diverso dalle solite patatine fritte!!! Cosa favolosa anche il pane.... Non avrei smesso di mangiarlo... L'ho finito al posto del dolce!!! I dolci erano invitanti ma ero troppo piena!!! Con birra e acqua speso 58 euro in 3. Lo consiglio!!!

Wer hier nicht gegessen hat, ist ein armer Tropf. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Team. Der Chef bedient mit und hat alles im Griff. Man fühlt sich hier willkommen. Plat délicieux !! Attente pas du tout longue bref je reviendrai c'est sur .. je recommande la viande de Porc avec les palourdes ( spécialité portugaise très connu mais il faut savoir bien la faire ! ) Poisson Sabre grillé un délice .. ( " peixe Espada ) faut savoir que cette variété de poisson surtout la race noir , on en trouve plus vers le sud de l'Europe. C'est le meilleur car " l'argenté " est plus sec .

This place was suggested to us by our b&b host. He recommended the monkfish and shrimp. We were feeling more on the soup side so we chose the monkfish and shrimp in rice tomato soup. Needless to say it was absolutely delicious. it was very close to our guesthouse. the service was great. Price was good. The portions are huge! Probably enough for 3 people!

Ha sido la primera ves que he comido Cataplana pero leí por internet que en Reis se comía la mejor y no lo dudé.
Es un restaurante con aires de otros tiempos algo pequeño, pero no se hace incómodo. Nosotros tuvimos que esperar, pero merece la pena la espera. Sin duda es recomendable. No solo por la Cataplana si no también por el trato, el ambiente y otros platos como la ensalada de pulpo y el cerdo con almejas que estaban espectaculares.
No vayáis en coche, calles estrechas y sin aparcamiento. El restaurante está en una calle estrecha y peatonal.

Lo encontramos de casualidad, es pequeño pero muy acogedor, el trato amable y la carta también está en español cosa que se agradece.
La calidad de la comida estupenda y los precios.....Bueno, es una zona turista, fuimos 4 y pedimos almejas de entrante y después un plato individual cada uno, sin postre, unos 70€, pero la cantidad de los platos individuales estaban bien.

Great restaurant, friendly service, not too expensive. My companions had the cataplan with monkfish and prawns and declared it delicious (and were still talking about it 3 days later). As a vegetarian it was slightly disconcerting to order a dish named 'vegetarian food' but it was pretty good. There aren't enough veggie options in Lagos to be fussy about it.

Very friendly staff and tasty food but be prepared for waiting some time to get a seat and to be served.
I've come here a couple of times and always had their signature dish the 'Cataplana' they have the monkfish and the pork but you should get the monkfish one (ask without the mint if you don't like it).
As I said at the start the staff is friendly and tries to help you to chose the best dishes for you and also suggests good wines, but most of the time the restaurant is too crowded and some of this is lost with all the confusion.
The prices are quite good for what you get!
