Me and 5 friends were at Faro's center and tried to have lunch here. But because of the restaurant rules (see photo) more than 4 people can not enter without reservation. But the restaurant was almost empty (only one table was taken) and I think nobody else would enter as it was already 2pm. Me and my friends couldn't understand this "house rule". Odd.

Platos contundentes y raciones más que generosas. El precio en la media. El bife da casa y el secreto de porco riquísimos. Local muy pequeño y un poco maniático con las personas que lleven equipaje.

Amazing food, amazing service! I am not sure of the name of the gentleman who attended our table but he was so good. He attended 9 tables by himself perfectly. We had the garlic calamari to start and the salmon for mains and they were so delicious. Tasca do Ricky is a must to do when in Faro!

Close to train station. Fabulous lunch. my wife had the grilled salmon and i had the squid starter. Both were excellent. Tiago our waiter provided us a complimentary carrot marinade and was a friendly and i formative host. .

Accueil chaleureux des gérants. Plats copieux et de qualité. Daurade grillée très bonne et les seiches marinées à la sauce au vin rouge et à l'encre délicieuse. Le serveur très sympa qui parle un peu le français. Tarif raisonnable. A découvrir.

Si vous êtes amateur de cuisine typique du Portugal, je vous conseille fortement cette adresse.
Moi même étant de l'hôtellerie restauration en France.
Ce restaurant fût une merveilleuse surprise.
Le serveur et je pense le patron sont d'une serviabilité extraordinaire, ils n'hésiterons pas à vous conseiller et vous expliquer, leurs spécialités et leur carte des vins.
Ma femme à pris le Franceshina, l'un des meilleurs sandwich au monde, avec cette sauce "amazing" et pour ma part le riz aux fruits de mer, il est redoutable, un goût somptueux et surtout d'une fraîcheur incomparable.
Et sans parler de leur sangria !!! Une tuerie la meilleure de toutes celles goûters (même en Espagne
Ne vous fié surtout pas à sa localisation de ce restaurant, petite rue déserte loin de l'animation touristique, mais néanmoins un voyage des sens et des saveurs.
Le rapport qualité /prix, incomparables.
5 étoiles rien à redire.
Foncez y vous ne serais pas déçu promis !!!

Das Restaurant mit 10 Tischen für ca. 40 Personen ist hübsch und das Essen ist spitze! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis klasse und der Service 1a. Der Kellner spricht hervorragend Englisch. zu unserer Hauptspeise gab es eine Vorspeise und einen Aperitif aufs Haus. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Siamo stati a cena ieri sera e ci siamo goduti un' po' la cucina portoghese del posto.
Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto a base di crocchette di baccalà e c'è stato offerto un piatto di carote marinate con olio e aglio.
Già con questo siamo partiti alla grande, assaporando un ottimo vino rosé, per poi continuare con la famosa Cataplana, piatto tipico di Faro fatto con frutti di mare, crostacei, carne di maiale e verdure.
Un piatto servito con una padella con coperchio per mantenere in caldo la pietanza.
È stato uno spettacolo sia a livello visivo che delle papille gustative.
Abbiamo concluso la cena assaggiando un ottimo liquore di mandorle.
Ambiente piacevole e carino, musica portoghese in sottofondo, il cameriere gentilissimo, professionale con un"ottima padronanza della lingua inglese.
Un'esperienza da ripetere sicuramente.
Conto giusto:55€ in 2 persone.

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super. Essen war lecker, der Kellner super freundlich. Es gab einen leckeren Mandellikör mit Zitronensaft aufs Haus. Und ein paar Touriinfos gab es noch oben drauf. Bad sehr sauber. Nur die Stühle haben schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel.

Had a fantastic experience here. The cataplana was the best dish we had in the Algarve - fresh, with plenty of seafood and reasonably priced. The waiters were friendly and the location of the restaurant is excellent. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Faro.

Cocina casera y tradicional portuguesa. Pedimos una francesinha y una cataplana para 1, todo para compartir entre 2 comensales. Estaba todo delicioso, fresco y bien hecho (cada ingrediente en su punto).
El camarero es muy amable y te pregunta cómo quieres las cosas. Un trato fantástico, una comida estupenda y muy bien de precio.
Lo recomiendo 100%. Es una apuesta segura.

Turned us down at the door because we "didnt have reservation" eventhough it was empty on a Thursday night and we were only a group of 8 asking for 2 tables. The restaurant were still accepting European diners in so I believe the waiter didnt want Asians in, no other reasons for this nonsense. Really dissapointed.

Very cozy and nice place. It is located in downtown of faro, you can park the car outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they serve authentic Algarve food, foods are very delicious.

Vinimos por las reseñas y no nos ha defraudado, el trato del camarero ha sido inmejorable, la comida muy buena (lulas, almejas), la croqueta de bacalao más normalita pero no estaba mala.
Con las lulas venían patatas fritas pero eran congelada (podían ser casera)
Y el precio también muy acorde a todo.
Volvería sin pensarlo.

Las almejas y las lulas con patatas al ajo estaban buenisimas, las patatas eran congeladas, pero aun asi merece la pena pedirse ese plato y las almejas eran frescas y muy ricas. Si solo fuese por la comida le daria 4 estrellas, pero el camarero tuvo un trato excepcional, asi que creo que se merecen las 5 estrellas.

혼자라서 해산물 먹고싶어 에피타이저 메뉴에 있는
조개와 오징어 시켜먹었어요
사장님이 굉장히 친절하시고, 영어도 잘 하셔서 대화에 전혀 문제없이 편안하고 기분좋은 식사였어요
감바스 느낌의 좋은 올리브 오일로 조리된 해산물이라
한국인 입맛에 잘 맞을것 같아요!
맥주도 작은거(1.5유로) 큰거 2.5유로라 혼자서 큰거 하나 작은거 하나 마셨어요!
길쭉한 조개(10유로)와 총알 오징어(6유로)먹었는데 조개 해감안된 한 두개가 있으니 조심하시고, 총알오징어는 한국인의 입맛에 조금 짤 수 있습니다! 빵(1유로)이랑 같이 먹으면 좋아요 피리피리 핫소스를 주시는데 매콤한 맛에 기분좋게 해산물 즐길 수 있어요
일정에 된다면 해물밥도 꼭 먹으러 가고 싶어요 !

El sitio está bien. Camareros muy atentos y agradables la comida tb está buena. Le pongo dos estrellas pq no se merece las 4'6 que tiene. 4 estrellas sería justo. La cataplana fué muy decepcionante, estaba buena pero solo mejillones y alguna almeja. La calidad del producto no es acorde al precio. Supongo que no tenían mucha gente y no tenían los mariscos adecuados para hacer una buena cataplana, eso se dice y pedimos otra cosa o cobras la mitad. Ya que si hubiéramos pedido un buen pescado seguro que la opinión era mucho mejor.
Contestando a su contestación, no me quejó de la cantidad, que era apropiada. Si no del tipo de mariscos, que son lo más baratos. En la cataplana había aproximadamente 4€ de mariscos y cobrais 25€ por 4 gambas, 2 langostinos, 2 mejillones y un puñado de almejas. El día anterior en Sagres le daba mil vueltas. Repito que estaba buena y bien cocinada.

Melhor local em Faro e arredores. Um momento inesquecível!! Espaço pequeno mas muito acolhedor. Atendimento muito atencioso e muito simpático. Melhor cataplana e francesinha que ja comi! A cataplana feita com mariscos muito frescos sabor inexplicável!! Francesinha simplesmente divinal!
Tudo acompanhado de um bom vinho algarvio e por ultimo mas sem esquecer a tal sobremesa tradicional caseira :) Tudo muito bom recomendo!! Voltarei sempre! :)

구글평보고갔는데 해물밥 1인분 양도 엄~~~~청많고 맛있어요 피리피리소스 따로주시는데 그거 한바퀴둘러 먹으면 살짝얼큰한게 한국맛이네요 해물죽같아요 프란세지냐는 포르투갈음식으로 유명해서 주문해봣는데 속에 햄이 4종류정도 들어있어서 한국인입맛에는 짜게느낄수도있어요 사장님도친절해요

Totalmente recomendable si estas en Faro. Nosotros probamos en Prato do día exquisito (garbanzos con pollo) por 7,5 eur.

Super restaurant ! Nous avons pris des coquillages en entrée à partager, une daurade grillée, un bifsteak et le dessert de la maison. La sangria est très bonne et faite sur le moment : une de meilleures qu'on ait pu tester. L'accueil et le service impeccable : nous sommes restés quelques minutes à papoter avec le propriétaire et le serveur à la fin du repas, cela a été très agréable. On recommande les yeux fermés.

I was disappointed they didn't have sardines, but the whole baby squid in garlic, wine and olive oil more than made up for it! The bacalhao croquettes were crisp and tasty, and the carrot salad with coriander was excellent too.
Friendly efficient service and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit for a quick lunch before the airport :-)

Erstklassiges Fischrestaurant! In einer versteckten Gasse wird man in herzlicher Atmosphäre begrüßt und von freundlichen Personal bedient, dass sehr sympathisch ein paar Sätze in seiner National Sprache parat hält. Der frische Fisch ist preiswert und ein wahres Gedicht! Der Gruß aus der Küche rundet einen perfekten Abend ab, ein Muss in Faro.

Nada que objetar, atención inmejorable, hablan español, amables y simpáticos, Thiago es un lujo de camarero,la comida muy buena , cataplana de marisco y bacalao a la brasa y los postre deliciosos, sobre todo uno que se llama escupitajo de camello, todo de 10, y con una marcha menos, paz y relax que se agradece, aquí no hay stress, el precio muy bueno, pero ya os digo que eso no es lo más importante de este sitio.

Ne vous laissez pas surprendre par le lieu et la devanture.
Le patron, Ricardo et son épouse sont des épicuriens ! la bonne table, la bonne bouffe et le bon vin est leur passion et vous la font partager. accueilli par Francisco (Kiko :-)) qui est au top, nous avons mangé ici les meilleurs plats de notre séjour au Portugal. (Figuera da Foz, Faro,Lisbonne, Faro et Porto.
Tout est dit à l'entrée : pas de groupes, pas de valises, et Carpe Diem !
Si vous êtes pressés, ou bien touristes sans patience, passez votre chemin, ce restaurant n'est pas pour vous !
les plats sont cuisinés et préparés à la demande, d'où un certain temps d'attente ... mais quel bonheur !
Je ne peux pas vous conseiller un plat en particulier, car ils sont tous d'une extrême finesse gustative !
le petit rouge "porte 6" est à tomber !
D'une gentillesse à toute épreuve, un service aux petits soins, que du bonheur.
Merci à vous trois pour ces moments inoubliables que nous avons passé avec vous et pour cette finesse culinaire !

Trop bien trop bon , il faut le chercher car un peu excentré , mais ça vaut le coup. Pas très grand , typique portugais avec la télé, très bel accueil , on s’est régalé du début à la fin du repas, le serveur est au petit soin pour vous . Tarif 15€par personne. Merci de la régalade.

Acertamos de pleno. El camarero atento, simpático, profesional. Se dirigió a nosotros en perfecto español, aunque comprobé por otras mesas que dominaba 2 idiomas mas, francés e inglés, aparte del suyo, portugués. Un 10 en servicio.
la comida, espectacular. Comimos muy bien, raciones grandes y muy ricas. Y el precio muy ajustado, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta la calidad. Tomamos lomo a la brasa, con guarnición de patatas, arroz y ensalada, pollo empanado con patatas fritas (esto los niños ). Navajas a la plancha con aceite y ajo, zanahorias con vinagreta, bacalao a la brasa con guarnición, una francesiña, botella de vino blanco, agua, 2 cafés y 2 licores de almendra (los licores regalo de la casa), 2 raciones de pan, todo por 67 euros (2 adultos y 2 niños de 11 años). Y todo buenísimo!
Los dueños con los que hablamos un ratito al irnos, muy simpáticos y agradables.

We were a family of 6 and specifically looked for this restaurant prior to our holiday. We got to the restaurant and to our astonishment were turned away by the waiter even though there were plenty of free tables because they wouldn't except any more than 4 people. Couldn't understand the reasoning for this and didn't even get to try the food. Really disappointed with this service!!!
Thank you for your reply, your review website states cosy, casual and good for groups. Groups of 4 or less?? This needs to be clearer on your review website. Don't understand why you couldn't have 4 on one table and 2 on another?? Maybe you just didn't want the business??

Super service with tasty food! The homemade pastel de bacalhau is a must to try. We also ordered Arroz com mariscos, a delicious and really generous portions of sea food with rice in a tasty tomato sauce.

Parada obligatoria. Sitio pequeño, pero agradable.
Arroz de marisco muy rico. Ponía que era para dos personas y comimos 3.
Tienen tanto carne como pescado.
Los platos tienen muy buen tamaño.
Te avisan que la comida va a tardar y que no es un restaurante de comida rápida, pero aun así no tardaron demasiado.
El postre de la casa está riquísimo.

Si vous cherchez de la cuisine vraiment traditionnelle alors là vous pouvez y aller. C est du vrai local. Prenez en dessert le Puding c'est du fait maison à 100% comme le reste d ailleurs.

Une très bonne adresse! C'est frais, copieux et l'accueil est top. Les calamars entiers en entrée étaient très bien cuisinés. Et le riz aux fruits de mer très bon. Avec un digestif offert par la maison en prime! Rapport qualité-prix difficile à battre!

Alors la comme grosse déception de notre part on découvre ce restaurant la veille de notre départ !
Il est tout simplement magnifique le serveur jeunot très professionnel et parle vraiment plusieurs langues pas toute parfaitement mais ça fais un gros plus (il mérite son tips !) les plats une gifle culinaire okok on est pas dans la gastronomie française mais la les plats typique du Portugal étaient parfaitement au rendez-vous. J'ai pris mon plat deux fois tellement il est gras et très très bon (j'ai oublié le nom désolé) ma compagne elle a eu du mal à finir à francesinha lol.
Bref allez y c'est un incontournable et pour le prix vous inquiétez pas vous allez pas du tout du tout vous ruiné !

Fantastic experience at Restaurante Tasca Do Ricky. The service was perhaps better than I’ve ever experienced. Since this was our first night in Portugal, our waiter was very helpful in navigating the menu and, when we ordered a traditional squid dish, made sure we were wary of the backbone of the squid sometimes mistaken for plastic. He gave us a complementary taste of some traditional appetizers and digestive drink. All of the food was spectacular and decently priced anywhere from 9-17€. What a great way to kick off our stay in Faro, I would absolutely recommend!

Best restaurant experience this holiday. Great service. Interesting menu. Simple but delicious food served in manageable portions. Best fish croquettes we've had. Perfect grilled fish. Try the baby cuttlefish. Reasonably priced.

Tastiest food in whole Portugal. Waiters are very professional, explained all dishes and were genuinely nice and lovely. Food is amazing. I would change the lights and dim them a bit as this was not too romantic. However, music, food and service was over the top. You could definitely say that guys went an extra mile.

This place really amazed me! From the outside it looks like a Polish old fashioned cafe where workers have lunch in reality it's the ultimate hidden gem! How they serve food and its quality are impressive! We had cheese, cataplana, wine and dessert! It was all delicious! We were lucky to have Tiago as waiter! He was super friendly, fun, polite and helpful. It was the second time in 14 days in Portugal where I had good service (the first in Lisbon). 5 stars to this amazing place!

Super freundliches Personal und leckeres Essen. Zu unseren Gerichten wurden uns die Besonderheiten erklärt. Im massinha de peixe ist zum Beispiel eine kleine Art aus der Familie der Haifische enhalten. Dazu kräftige Tomate und Pasta. Echt lecker! Nach 8 Tagen in Portugal das bislang beste Restaurant!

Unfortunately we were not allowed inside due to silly 'no bags' policy. Restaurant was not really busy, with only 1/3 of tables occupied. We only had two small suitcases so I was trying to politely discuss possibilities with waiter but there was no will from his end. We went to Chefe Branco instead.

Excellent restaurant et je pèse mes mots. L'accueil est soigné, le service est très professionnel. Les plats sont généreux et goûteux, tout est fait maison. Le tout pour des tarifs très compétitifs voire imbattables. Un petit resto familal à ne surtout pas manquer !

Nem tive experiência pois o primeiro atendimento foi tão mau que fui logo embora, não podia ser mais de 4 pessoas, depois os miúdos não podiam ficar numa mesa sozinhos nem fazer barulho, o carrinho de bebé não podia entrar, para uma tasca tanta etiqueta por essa razão é que estava praticamente vazio. Mas ainda bem porque tive oportunidade de conhecer um restaurante de 5 estrelas ao lado italiano que recomendo vivamente.

Perfect service, friendly waiter explained the menu and the history behind the dishes. He recommended great choices, which were very Tasty! Waiter was also attentive and made sure we were Happy without being too over bearing. The passion for food that he had transferred onto our plates. A must visit!!

Had the menu del Dia and it was definitely the menu of the year! Lovely grilled cod and soup and desert but the service made it all so special. Ricky explained what made him passionate about his dishes and the food definitely carries it through. Would recommend the trip to faro for a meal with Ricky!

Com inúmeras visitas feitas ao local chegou a altura de fazer a devida avaliação, às suas famosas "francesinhas".
Ambiente acolhedor e calmo, ideal para se jantar em grupo ou mesmo em família.
O menu é de boa escolha e existe de tudo um pouco, no entanto, destaca-se a especialidade da casa. A famosa "Francesinha do Ricky".
Bem preparada e com um sabor de fazer esquecer todas as outras que já provámos.
A carta de bebidas é bem escolhida, contudo, até à data ainda não foi "testada". Visto que têm mandado a regra de acompanhar a "francesinha" com uma bela cerveja.
No final é apresentada uma despesa aceitável face aos demais locais que Faro oferece aos amantes da Boa Mesa.

Petit restaurant familial isolé et ne payant pas de mine, mais ne vous fiez pas à la devanture et la localisation, car comme le suggère la vitrine remplie de prix TripAdvisor, ce petit restaurant familial est excellent. Le patron est charmant et parle (facilement) portugais, anglais, français et espagnol.

Escondido entre las callejuelas de Faro aparece la Tasca Do Ricky. Muy amables, muy atentos, la comida bastante buena y el precio económico. Menú del día por 10 € incluye bebida, postre casero, café, sopa, plato principal... qué más se puede pedir.
Recomendable la catalana de marisco de la carta!!!

Definitely a place for locals. Way better than the tourist traps from the city center. The language you hear there is Portuguese, not English... Food is excellent, service too. Highly recommended.

We thought we won't find any good restaurant in Faro, and bang! This was a perfect shot! Great food, really nice and welcoming stuff. Chef does brilliat food! Recommend grilled squids and the salmon. In the end we received nice local drink and bonbon. The portions are just fine, not too small not too big. And is cheap comparing to other restaurants in Faro. 100% recommend!
