Consistently the best place to eat in Alvor. Book early. Today they were booked up or the next 14 nights. Little chance of a walk in.

El camarero es un gran vendedor, muy amable y con variedad idiomática! Pedí una dorada con pesto muy rica. Fui por la gran cantidad de buenas críticas que tiene en tripadvisor en comparación con el resto de locales de Alvor. Por la tarde abren los toldos y tiene unas buenas vistas. Es un sitio bonito y no excesivamente caro. Está muy bien :)

Absolutely delicious food and staff were amazing. Even with my daughter smashing a plate. Need to book in advance.

So many highly rate Ruccula and the waiting list confirms it's popularity. The food is really good, the staff are friendly and attentive and the views of the estuary are spectacular. However it is really very busy and noisy, is popular with large parties of golfers and it is one of the more expensive local restauarants. Great if you want that bustling atmosphere, but hard to hold quieter conversationa and to relax and soak in that view.

We have been going to Alvor for 9yrs, never been to Ruccula be fore "Y" . Now I know wot all the hype is about. It was my birthday, a friend rang to tell them, I was made to feel like an old friend. All the staff sang hap/day. We Will Back. A big thank Ruccula. 5*

Very good food. Staff is a little overworked. Reservations are a must. Very good steak, with multiple preparation options. All in all, a great meal in an interesting section of the Algarve.

Fantastic restaurant. Visited on our last two stays in Alvor. Wonderful food and staff. Great wine list. Make sure to book well in advance ... popularity is a reflection of how good this place is. And I look forward to going back on my next visit.

Tried 2 years ago, when on holiday, to book a table and failed. This time I booked well in advance and secured a table for 4. The whole experience was fantastic., from the welcome reception, professional staff, atmosphere, food, drink and the courteous waiting persons. A great night had by all and a happy birthday meal for my wife. Well done all.

Impossible to reserve!
They don’t even answer the phone most of the time.
I managed to speak with them twice.
I told them i was here for one month.
They took down my name but never phoned me back.
Who needs to put up with this kind of service?
I gave up.
I am going to VilaJoya on Sunday.

Absolutely exquisite restaurant with really friendly and helpful staff. The food is divine especially the slow cooked lamb shank, just melts in your mouth. Good luck getting a table though. We had to book 2 months in advance!

Excellent value and service. One of the best meals we’ve had on our month long honeymoon through Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. We genuinely enjoyed the amazing flavors and how hospitable and accommodating they were for both celiacs and vegetarians... thank you again for a great dinner experience.

Amazing restaurant. Service is outstanding and so friendly especially to children. They can do any main course in a half portion for kids which is brilliant. Fillet steak is as good as anywhere.

Well what can I say. Ruccula came recommended by a friend who visits regularly. I was told I would not be disappointed and right enough... I wasn't.
The staff were outstanding. Friendly from the word go and created a real homely atmosphere.
Then came the food... Starters were to die for. Prawns, pate, home made tomato soup and spring roll. I have a 7 and 5 year old and they are being brought up by 2 real foodies (myself and their mum) and they enjoyed everything presented to them.
Then the main course. My wife and my boys all had fillet steak which really looked delicious but I had the lamb. Best I've had ever. Outstanding.
I really hope you guys can squeeze us in for one more meal before we go home in a week's time but if not then you guys alone would be good enough reason to return to Portugal.

Have been coming here for years although not for the last 4 admittedly. Fantastic restaurant and have driven from England to come here. Disappointed that we could not book a table. Got told that you need to book 3 weeks in advance. We didn't know how long it would take us to get here! So so disappointed

Absolutely unbelievable food, honestly can say the best meal I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant was here, at Ruccula. I couldn’t fault a thing - the food is brilliant, the staff are attentive, welcoming and helpful. Book well in advance though, because its huge popularity means it’s almost always fully booked, which is no surprise - it’s amazing.

Possibly the best meal I've ever had was here at Ruccula. You have to book well in advance, we booked in February for our trip in May. The many staff make the guests feel welcome while the head chef overlooks his team of chefs preparing delicious food......and plenty of it too. Can't fault this place.

Excelente restaurante para jantar (não servem almoços) do melhor que há na zona e devem ir com apetite pois as doses são bem servidas e muito bem confecionadas. O preço nao é barato (mais de 25€ por pessoa no minimo) mas saimos bastante satisfeitos e com muita vontade de la voltar. O pessoal é muito simpatico e atencioso. O unico senão: é obrigatório reservar com mais de uma semana no mínimo de antecedência pois esta sempre esgotado... vale mesmo apena! :-)

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Everything is spot on. The food is top quality, the staff are incredibly friendly and informative (you feel like part of their family by the end of the evening). No fake friendliness here, only sincerity. I'd go back to Alvor just to eat in this restaurant. It's so good.

We have been going to Ruccula for the past 10 years as a family...We absolutely love it here the food is outstanding and the staff our incredible nothing is a problem they have watched our daughter grow and we our always welcomed with open arms...We could not recommend this restaurant enough...it is an experiences you will thoroughly enjoy and you will just want to keep coming back...Well done to Bella and all the wonderful staff...

One of the best places in Alvor to go for food. It is also, compared to the rest, the most pricey one, but usually worth the money. The fish cakes were not to our liking, however, the lamb was just perfect. A great dish that is absolutely worth its money. The steak was good; seared to perfection, but compared to the lamb, the lamb takes home the medal.

Been a couple of times, very different experiences. First time excellent food and service, second time the brother was in a bad mood and it showed! We had to send the baked cheese starter back, cold in the middle, hot on the outside.
We would not recommend.
