Booked online, got in the bus for transfer to the office, 10 minutes waiting, 5 min to check out the car ( I am German and I want insurance, esp. In southern countries). Returned the car 2 days later and was at the airport within 15 min. Let's see what the credit card bill says. But until now , perfect service

Stay away of this bunch as I had the worst ever experience renting a car with them. Front of desk staff not very helpful and always trying to upsell insurances and they are extremely expensive when compared with other local companies. Pick up car on a Wednesday lunch time and drop it on a Sunday early morning at 6am and have been charged around 340£ all together and no email or explanation with a breakdown of the extra cost explained . Extremely unclear business and personally will never ever use them again and to clarify I have been renting the car from Firefly and they are from same group as Hertz as I had dropped my car in there once rental was finished.

Nous avons loue une voiture pour 2 jours en urgence. Le personnel d'acceuil nous a clairement mit la pression pour prendre une assurance pour nos 2 jours en nous disant que notre carte bancaire ne passerait pas (pourtant nous avons une carte gold mastercard et je leur ai bien dit que je ne voulais pas d'assurance car deja presente sur la carte) a force d'insister en nous disant que nous ne pourrons pas recuperer le véhicule nous avons payer 140 euros d'assurance en plus (en plus des 56 euros pour le vehicule). Personnel non acceuillant et qui ne pense qu'a soutirer de l'argent aux clients. A eviter absoluement !

Probably the worst car hire outfit I have ever come across. A20 minute wait for a bus that comes every 5 minutes. They also fail to point out that your car hire has a60km/day limit and sting you with€370 extras at the end. Shocking outfit!!!!

As a President's Circle Club member I was appalled with the lack of professionalism on Hertz Porto Airport branch. It all started with me requesting beforehand for a certain type of vehicle (a small SUV as I recently hurt my knee and I still struggle to get in/out of some "sportier" cars, but to an SUV I can get in/out without any help), just to be given a completely different one, when asked for the vehicle I had requested, they told me that they didn't had any and if I wanted to take a slightly bigger one I would need to pay 180 euro extra for it (a Nissan Qashqai) as unlike in the UK my President Circle upgrade would not be enough to get that one as an upgrade. I went to check the car that they had prepared for me (Fiat Tipo SW Diesel), and really... it was completely battered and full of scratches (that were not listed on their Vehicle Inspection report and I had to point every single one of them and have them taking photos of it), and it got so ridiculous and frustrating that I almost snapped out and went inside the building to ask to talk with a Supervisor because things were getting ridiculous. After a bit of hustle and bustle between him and the other employees, they decided to give me the slightly bigger vehicle and off I went to my holidays with almost a 2 hour delay caused by a completely chaotic and unprofessional team on the branch. Out of this, I would say that the only person that saved Hertz from having 1 start only was a young guy called Bruno that actually was really nice and patiently went around with me and took pictures of all the scratches and fully understood the underlying issues of having to go through that. But in a nutshell, if you value your mental sanity, and don't want to start your holidays with the wrong foot, please get your car from somewhere else (as there are Avis, Sixt, Europcar and so on next door to Hertz).

Bonjour Je viens vous faire part de mon problème sur cette agence j’ai louer une voiture chez eux à mon arrivé un des conseillers qui s’appelle CARLOS NOVO nos a proposé une autre voiture sur classe à notre et il nous a dis pour le même prix on na fait confiance à cette personne il était très sympa mais donc on na prix une autre voiture pour le même prix cetais un geste commercial soit disant parce que on na louer pour un mois mais au retour pour dépose la voiture ils nous en présente une facture de 2000€ en plus de la réservation.. donc c’est juste pour vous informer que c’est des voleurs surtout c’est monsieur faites très attention à cette agence c’est des arnaquer je vous la déconseille fortemente et monsieur le Directeur on se retrouvera en tribunal bientôt Nunca reservem nesta agência entre os empregados e o director são uns grandes mentirosos para não falar do serviço ao cliente ainda hoje estou à espera que me telefone mas só para deixar esclarecido para as pessoas saberem o senhor director da agência mais o sr Carlos novo vamos nos voltar a ver em tribunal . .DESACONSELHO FORTEMENTE

Nunca más arrendar en este local. Me hicieron esperar mucho tiempo por un auto a pesar que tenia reserva y luego simplemente no me arrendaron el auto. Cruce la calle a otra empresa de arriendo y en 15 minutos ya iba camino a mi destino.

Terrible customer experience. The car was not ready. Also, we were told that we couldn't get an upgrade to the next group because they had no cars as well. Instead, we were pushed to rent a car with a double price, and the employee kept telling that this is a special offer (typical in rental companies) and that it consumes less gas. again DOUBLE price!! Got a ticket for parking while in Portugal. We tried for half a day to find how and where to pay it. Eventually, at the police they told us that we can't pay it, they had no idea how much it was because it was too soon and the info wasn't registered (it was just in a piece of paper somewhere), and the car rental company will take care of this. The same story when we got to the rental company. One year later, I receive notification (abroad) from public authorities to pay the fine, which I do. Two months after that, I see a charge in my credit card by Hertz. Apparently, I was charged for "administrative fees" almost close to the amount of the ticket (~40euros) because they had to inform the police of my personal information regarding the ticket - the ticket I was trying to pay in person that whole day). Terrible customer service. I assume for this, the police is to blame as well, which only make the experience even worse.

Dans le cadre de mon Déplacement professionnel a porto jai loue une voiture (mon entreprise est partenaire de Hertz) et l'agence s'est permise non seulement de prélever une somme erronée mais en plus sur mon compte personnel !! Un vrai scandale !! 600€ pour une location dune voiture classique sur 2 jours !! Et quand on les appelle pour une explication c'est limite si on ne vous insulte pas Au téléphone !

Absolute Frechheit - haben der Dame am Schalter deutlich mitgeteilt, dass wir bereits versichert sind und keine zusätzlich insurance benötigen. Nach Abgabe des Autos wurden nun zusätzlich 80 Euro abgerechnet für die nicht gewollte Versicherung. Vorab hatten wir einen Mietbeleg (auf Portugiesisch!!) erhalten, der diese Versicherung wohl aufzeigte. Tricks, Täuschung und absolut inkompetente Mitarbeiter! 100% Abstand davon halten Super ärgerlich!

Avoid at all costs. As someone who travels often for work, this has been by far the worst rental experience I've ever had. From start to finish agents were rude, slow, and incompetent at this location, especially supervisor Nuno Silva and underling Bruno Bastos. They misquoted the final price multiple times when trying to check out. They then couldn't figure out how to print a receipt and after wasting several hours fumbling around made me miss my flight even though I arrived 4 hours in advance and told them I needed to leave. They have ensured that I will never use Hertz again and will actively advise others against it as well.

Dont waste your energy and money. Better price and service in next door other companies. I am a 5 star gold member of hertz and lease my car from hertz last 1.5 years. In Hertz Porto Airport I have offered a car which is way lower than what I booked and did not give me other option and asked me to call call centre and complain. I called call centre and they responded me that this is a franchise and they can not do anything even they can see in their system that hertz Porto airport has available cars Similar to what I booked. I cancelled my booking with €45 extra cost and walk to next door - avis. I got better car than I booked with hertz porto airport with same money!!

Got charged TRIPLE my quoted rate because apparently “kilometers aren’t included” in reservations. I’m a Gold member and have rented from Hertz in multiple countries and cities and this is the first time I’ve ever had such a horrible experience. No one felt the need to tell me kilometers aren’t included in the reservation, and since it’s in TINY print at the bottom of my contract, I have no recourse. Ive been a loyal hertz gold customer for years and now I will be leaving.

Horrible and slow service. They reserved €1229 on my creditcard for a Peugeot 206 while I was totally covered with insurance. The amount is Absurd! Will charge you €4 for paying with a credit card. Taxes are not included in price.

Prélèvement ne correspondant pas à la réservation faite au préalable en ligne sur le site Hertz. Le plein n'était pas fait, des soucis lors du retour du véhicule (Luminosité baissée à fond sur l'affichage et on nous a accusé de l'avoir cassé)... Mauvaise communication avec les personnes de l'agence qui préfère parler Portugais et ne font aucun effort pour parler ne serait-ce qu'Anglais. Je déconseille.

Uma vergonha paguei 70 para um carro 2 dias com tudo riscos fizeram pagar mais 25 para não ficar 3770 bloqueado no cartão ao fim na minha conta tiram me 70 euros ao fim no total 140 euro não numca mais a receberar nesta companhia atenção Une honte que j'aie payé 70 pour une voiture 2 jours avec tout risque mon fait payer 25 euros pour ne pas avoir 3770 bloqué sur la carte à la fin dans mon compte 140 euros attention

Uma das piores companhia de aluguer de carros foi um erro meu nao li bem contrato...aluguei um carro com kilometros limitados a minha disponibilidade de kilometros são 60 km ao dia por 10 dias 600km todos kilometros a mais terei que pagar 37 cêntimos por km isto e uma roubalheira .disseram que o único carro disponível era x1 por 450 por 10 dias a mais se eu pudesse dar era voto negativo

Gostei do atendimento. Bastante esclarecedor. Foi me cedido um carro de gama superior sem que os preços fossem alterados. O único problema que encontrei foi o facto de ser complicado entrar e sair da zona do aluguer para quem não conhece o local. Mal sinalizado.

Boa tarde, Quando pedi para falar com o chefe da estação, este veio falar comigo com hálito a vinho e olhos vermelhos, não entendi nem metade do que me disse, era para pedir o livro de reclamações já que a ajuda não foi nenhuma, mas tive receio que ao lhe pedir o livro me acontecesse alguma coisa devido ao seu estado! Ainda hoje penso que estive num qualquer tasco da zona, a falar com o dono do estabelecimento. Para chefe de estação dá um exemplo 5 estrelas!

O pior service de aluguer que usei. Disseram que havia uma promoção de 60% para um carro melhor e que só pagava mais 40 euros para upgrade. Depois levei com a conta no cartão de crédito por milhas que não fiz e toll q não aceitei, e o upselling the 160 euros. Cuidado com estes gajos leiam tudo antes de assinar senão são enganados

Uma das piores companhias enganam o cliente, aluguei um carro quando foi para o alevantar num me deram o que tinha reservado deram me um equivalente, se num tinham nul foi minha culpa ,nul me avisaram que tinha que pagar a franquia por ser um carro superior ao que eu tinha alugado num avisaram nada na entrega quando entreguei é que me disseram que ia ser retirado o dobro do que du tinha alugado ,reclamei foi so desculpas que a senhora responsable e que ia resolver isso aonde me retiraram o dinheiro, pensa se que se aluga por o valor que reservamos ,mas no final fica no drobro do preço porque enganam os clientes num aconselho ninguem esta agencia!!!!!

Péssimo. Tinha uma reserva feita pela seguradora. Não atendem o telefone. No site não tem informação nenhuma. Chegámos ao quiosque do aeroporto estavam já várias pessoas a espera e não está ninguém a atender. Só depois de algum tempo perguntei a uma pessoa o que se passava e disseram que tinha que ler a informação que estava num pequeno cartaz, que dizia para apanhar um shuttle para o edifício hertz. Se dissessem isso ao telefone ou na internet tinha ido lá ter directamente! No edifício da hertz, uma fila interminável! Ainda não aluguei o carro e já foi a pior experiência de sempre com um rent a car!

Auto gehuurd in Porto bij Dollar. Afhalen bij Hertz duurde bijna een uur!! Blijkbaar ook formule met beperkt aantal kilometers (660) wat je in een uitgebreid land als Portugal gemakkelijk haalt. Excess kilometers Worden excessief getarifeerd (duurder dan de benzine die je verbruikt). Bovendien aan de afhaal debiele en onduidelijke uitleg gekregen over een extra te betalen bakje voor de tolwegen. Als men de keuze krijgt verwacht je toch ook een duidelijke en goede uitleg wat er gebeurt als je het bakje niet neemt, niet dus. Kortom nooit meer iets bij Hertz! nemen

While I explicitly declined all additional insurance, the agent checked the box for PAI insurance for me. I signed and got charged for some stuff I did not need. Be very careful with agents trying to willing to rip you off. I raised a complaint to Hertz customer service who never replied, though I am Gold customer. For this reason I will never chose Hertz again. Still, my kids were given nice toys, which made the service quite nice... Too bad it ends up like that

Telefonisch ist niemand zu erreichen, aber 21 mal angerufen aber die Kommunikation auch intern scheint nicht vorhanden zu sein der eine weiß nicht was der andere tut, Englisch oder deutsch spricht sowieso kaum jemand Das Auto war gut Wenn man dann mal jemanden erreicht, oder direkt vor Ort hinfährt! Due to missing luggage in the airport, we couldn't pick up the pre booked car (400 euro Ford Focus) before midnight. Office closed at midnight and the next morning we could only get a 1500 euro (!) Mercedes in stead. Car was originally rented when booking tickets at Lufthansa (Hertz and Lufthansa are partners), and Hertz claimed that by not picking up the car at midnight but the next morning made the booking cancelled. Thiefs and liars. Don't use them!

Na verdade não tivemos problemas quanto ao aluguel do carro. A Hertz é de fácil acesso, tendo o transporte Aeroporto/Loja e vice-versa eficiente. Algumas dicas que podem ajudar em qualquer locadora : 1°dica - se você vem do Brasil, alugue o carro no Brasil e pague em Reais, evite impostos, principalmente, para teu cartão de crédito. 2°dica - atenção com despesas extras, na hora de fechar: seguros especiais, GPS, outros modelos de carro e etc. 3°dica- atenção quanto ao tempo que podes perder na devolução, principalmente, se ainda tens que pagar taxas e pedágios. Cuidando do horário vôo. 4°dica- verifique o estado do veículo no recebimento e registre qualquer dano prévio. 5°dica- pergunte por um posto de combustíveis próximo e útil na devolução para completares o tanque. Claro há outras mas estas são as que destaco.

Nous avons eu un doute en rendant la voiture à l'aéroport en voyant les avis sur internet. Mais heureusement, nous avons été accueilli par Bruno, très courtois, sympathique et professionnel. Aucune prise de tête, la restitution s'est fait dans de bonnes conditions.

Appalling. Some snapshots: this is with respects to Porto airport Portugal Turned up at airport, made the phone call for guy to come and get us. Meanwhile, wife became ill so I escorted her to bathroom. Guy turns up, doesn't see us immediately, and so shoots off, closing up shop as he does so that I can't call back. I thus had to scramble around finding a number and get him to come back. Got to center. They said I was getting an upgrade. I said "is that free?" They said "yes". I said good and off I went. Came back after 5 days to return car- charged 150 for upgrade. Was told service rep would call. She did not. Contacted Customer service on return to UK. Took 2 months to get back in touch, in which I explained the lie told above and was told because I signed, even though in good faith and precisely because I was lied to, that that was the end of the matter. No apology, no good faith discount, no nothing... There's bad customer service, and then there's Hertz.

Ended up paying almost double of what expected. Super CDW insurance doesn't save you from being charged for scratches or dents the car may have incurred during rental. Prepare to pay ~92€ (75€+23% tax) if they find a dent/scratch that wasn't described initially. On the good side, the car we got was almost brand new, nice and clean. Bottom line: Won't be renting from Hertz again unless no other options..

satisfait du service, en arrivant le vendeur me propose quelques voitures plus chères a la location j'ai bien compris qu'ils avaient pas ma voiture, j'ai dit que je ne paierai pas plus cher que ce que j'avais réservé et a la place d'une clio j'ai eu une bmw serie 1 sport sans supplément de prix. au retour de la voiture tout s'est bien déroulé, je pense revenir louer dans cette enseigne la prochaine fois.

Péssima experiência! Me empurraram um carro mais caro do que eu tinha reservado e Ainda tiveram a cara de pau de dizer que o carro era aquele mesmo! Acrescentaram serviços os quais eu não havia solicitado e quando pedi p retirar tais serviços foi uma burocracia danada! No final o carro saiu pelo dobro do que eu havia reservado! Nunca mais!

At the end I paid almost the double amount that I prepaid on the website. The very rude desk guy added services that I didn't ask for, without telling me, and I had to remove them one by one! The deposit was 1570€ for a Fiat Punto, hugely higher than the website said. I chose Hertz because I've read lots of bad reviews of low cost companies, but Hertz still is a thief company! Beware when you rent a car with them or don't rent at all!

Purtroppo avevo aspettative alte da questa compagnia visto che tutti L'avevano descritta come la migliore, ma così non è stato. Lentezza delle pratiche e cifra finale esageratamente alta, da 280€ on line ho pagato più di 500€! Il personale è stato gentile, ma ci sono sempre queste sorprese. Non noleggerò più con Hertz

Lixo! Ficam tentando te empurrar um carro mais caro do que vc reservou. Provavelmente eles nao possuem o carro alugado e nao querem dar o upgrade gratuito. Me prenderam 50min e foram dando valores cada vez mais baixos. Começaram me oferecendo o carro que tinham por um valor absurdo a mais. Nunca mais alugo com eles. Lixo! Atendente péssima e grosseira.

Dodgy company avoid like the plague.. they use another company for the scams called firefly but I delivered the car to Hertz because it's just a diversion..i made a reservation online like I always do to rent a car, on the terms and conditions said that I had to leave a 1050€ deposit but when I got there I was forced to leave 1750€ or loose the payment for the rental I paid in advance ... first the guy tried to charge me with the rental second time because (I did not know it was paid) I said it wasn't showing in the system. YEAH RIGHT!!! then one week after I'm charged for tools for more what I paid for the rental. Which I did not use as I was born in this city and leaved here for 37 years and I know where they are and didn't even go close to motorways plus it was not enough time for it to show up because it takes 2 weeks.. the guy was very rude trying to force me accept his terms and trying to sell me insurance.. BEWARE I WILL BE GOING THERE SOON AND THE COMPLAINTS BOOK IS GOING TO BE USED SCAMMERS !!!! ATTENTION WHEN EVER YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS GUYS ASK FOR THE RED COMPLAINT BOOK IF THEY REFUSE TO GIVE YOU CALL THE POLICE THEY WILL COME FLYING AND GIVE THEM A FINE THEY WILL CRY FOR A MONTH!!
