Had a lovely evening. Delicious food and super friendly personnel. Pity it was a bit chilly (end of March...) as would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the seaview. Next time Highly recommended.

Atlantik pur! Wer Sonne nicht so mag, es gibt Liegen mit Schirm für 10 Euro pro Tag.Für Kleinkinder extra Sonnenschirm mitnehmen, denn der Sand ist so herrlich. Gastro ist gleich nebenan.

A Boia is a transcendant piece of Portugese coastal dining. Relatively tiny, maybe 20 tables, the staff is accomodating. The menu is complete. Nothing too fancy, but everything you like about this area: octopus, swordfish, mussels, oysters, etc. Decent wine list and red, white amd vino verde by BTG.

Hemos estado a primeros de noviembre, con poca gente, está muy bien situado el servicio muy bueno, la comida espectacuar, unos calamares asados y unos mejillones, aunque escasos para el precio. Por lo tanto, un pelin caro.

Good food and good service. Boia has gone a little more upmarket with prices rising accordingly in the last year or two. If you haven't been before, then it is a great restaurant in a great location ...but it has lost a little of its charm that it used to have.

A vista sobre a praia convida qualquer um a entrar e a apreciar uma bela refeição.
É um restaurante onde se come bom peixe fresco e marisco, apesar do preço um pouco mais elevado.
Como entrada, as amêijoas estavam bastante saborosas. O espadarte também estava bem confeccionado e as lulas estavam tenras. O esparguete de mexilhão e gambas poderia estar um pouco mais composto de gambas.

Slowest service in Salema. Food was good but after waiting 50 minutes for starters anything would have been good. Starters weren't even anything complicated 1 bisque which would already be made and 4 garlic breads. Never again

Personale indisponente che sottovaluta il turista straniero. Arrivati in due con tavoli liberi ci ha fatto aspettare facendoci credere che c'era posto ma poi ci ha detto di no. Forse per loro è meglio avere clientela inglese da sottomettere a proprio modo! Buona sfortuna!!

Practico por su buena ubicación al lado de la playa de Salema. Servicio rápido y correcto. La carta es variada aunque los precios son bastante altos por lo general. Visitamos el restaurante dos veces, en una de ellas nos sirvieron pasadas las 22h de la noche lo cual no es nada habitual en Salema.
De la carta, las sopas de verdura y pescado son una buena opción como primero: platos generosos, ricas y económicas (3'20 o 3'90 si son de pescado).
En una de las ocasiones pedimos dos sopas de verduras de primero, un carpaccio de pulpo para compartir y después sardinas a la brasa y pasta con marisco. Solamente pedimos un postre, café para dos y dos cervezas de 40 cl para beber. El total fueron 50'40€ aprox. La impresión fue buena en general pero para nada espectacular: las sopas estaban buenas pero el carpaccio era mínimo, las piezas de pulpo escasas y demasiado finas, sin tener un sabor espectacular. La pasta igual, poca cantidad aunque de buen sabor. Además de las sopas, las sardinas son una buena opción en este restaurante al servirse con ensalada como guarnición junto con patatas cocidas. De sabor ricas (qué menos estando donde estás) pero las patatas eran insípidas, no me parecieron ricas.
En la segunda ocasión pedimos de nuevo sopa de verduras de primero y una ensalada para compartir (de Frango) y la verdad que hubiéramos comido más: la ensalada era bastante pobre, no venía aliñada, solamente con su salsa y la carne para nada era de primera, ni de segunda. No volvería a pedirla. Esta segunda vez solamente pedimos los cafés y agua para compartir y el coste fue de 30'90€.
Debido a la escasa oferta de restaurantes en Salema es un sitio a visitar. Sabiendo qué pedir puede ser bastante económico.

En este restaurante a pie de playa cenemos el día 28 de febrero, éramos 9 personas para cenar, tengo que decir que no teníamos ninguna reserva realizada.
Después de esperan un buen rato para que nos confirmaran que disponían de sitio, no dicen que si pero que tiene que ser en mesas distintas pues entramos y vemos que nos podían a ver puesto juntos pero en fin que cenemos que es lo que cuenta.
Ahora el camarero que nos atendió estaba atento y nos explicaba bien cada cosa como era.
Tengo que decir que vi un detalle que no me gustó y fue que el dueño estuvo preguntando en las mesas de los ingleses que tal estaba la comida y al resto de mesas que estábamos no nos dirigió la palabra, por eso no le deje propina.

The restaurant presents the lovely view of the Salema beach in front which is enjoyable while eating.
It also offers you the choice between typical Portuguese seafood( Cata plana ), which is probably caught from the ocean in front of the restaurant, and more common food like spear rips. It takes a while until the food is brought to your table but it is worth it. The weiters are nice, the Food is delicious and not that expansive so I recommend you to visit the restaurant if you live near Salema.

Está situado na praia da Salema e na zona do Algarve não é fácil encontrar um restaurante como este, pela localização e também principalmente pela vista que oferece para a praia. Não é barato mas tem qualidade e bom peixe. Esperemos que com a nova gerência melhore ainda mais.

War ganz gut, mehr aber nicht. Servicepersonal recht kühl. Wir hatten Gambas mit Reis, hier fehlte auf jeden Fall Knoblauch, Bacalao war ziemlich flach im Geschmack. Bei den Preisen ist die direkte Strandlage inklusive.
Haben hier in Salema und in der Nähe schon sehr viel besser gegessen.

Die Bedienung geht gar nicht, kein Lächeln... Die Bedienung wollte insgesamt 4 mal abräumen, obwohl meine Begleitung noch immer am Essen war langsam aber noch am kauen vor gefüllten Teller.
Die Sardinen waren lecker, der Thunfisch nicht nach meinem Geschmack.
Wir hatten das Gefühl ganz schnell wieder abgearbeitet zu werden dit die nächsten Gäste Platz hatten.
Daumen nach unten da gibt es bessere Restaurants in Salema

Lovely beach front restaurant with delicious seafood options. Make sure you book a table
in advance so you can take advantage of the waterside views. Service was great but food is more on the expensive side which is to be expected on this part of Portugal. Seafood and fish seemed fresh. When choosing what to eat always go for the seafood or fish. Starters are pricey and probably not worth the money. Still had an enjoyable experience with my mates.

Se siete a Sagres venite in questo locale si mangia molto bene il Pesce e Freschissimo e preparato in modo perfetto. II vino bianco che ho predo era buonissimo. Il personale molto gentile. Se prenoti in tempo, ti siedi alla finestra aperta proprio sulla spiaggia con il rumore del mare che si infrange sulla battigia.

Wer auf Champagner und Aperol Spritz steht, kann hier sein Geld lassen. Die Gerichte sind viel zu teuer und man wird nicht satt. Ein Lächeln sucht man bei der Bedienung vergebens. Wer authentisches Essen sucht, muss die Restaurants nebenan besuchen. Dort fühlt man sich auch willkommen. Der Ausblick ist natürlich super, aber diesem bieten alle Restaurants in dieser Straße. Für ältere ("reiche") Menschen sicher geeignet, so bleiben sie auch unter sich. Also eigentlich gut, dass es das Restaurant gibt. So bleiben die anderen Restaurants "sauber".

Frischen Fisch und Meeresfrüchte bekommt man hier bestens zubereitet. Sehr lecker alles. Die Weine fand ich ziemlich teuer. Beim ersten Besuch fanden wir die Kellner zwar freundlich, aber doch etwas reserviert und distanziert. Beim 2. Besuch war das anders als man uns wieder erkannt hat. Schade, denn eigentlich sollte jeder Gast von Anfang an gleich behandelt werden. Trotzdem 4 Sterne weil nicht nur das Essen, sondern auch die Location super ist. Wen man rechtzeitig reserviert, sitzt man am offenen Fenster direkt am Strand.Toll!

Amazing tuna steak. Cooked to perfection the accompanying sauce was inspired. I also tasted my dining companion's sardines and they were excellent. The service was impeccable and the wine (Prova Regia) was excellent. I had leite creme (creme brulee) and it was one of the best I have tasted in the Algarve, freshly made and the sugar still hot from the grill. The meal was not so cheap by Portuguese standards but the extra price was well worth it for a wonderful meal in an amazing setting with a stunning view of the beach and perfect food. Strongly recommended!

Jetzt komme ich seit 22 Jahren nach Salema und ich muss gestehen ,von Jahr zu Jahr verliert dieses Dorf seinen Charme.
Das was diesen Ort ausgemacht hat war eingendlich seine Ursprünglichkeit, ganz vorne stand die Boia Bar.
Inzwischen habe ich das Gefühl, dass man die Bedienung stört, wenn man mal ein Bier trinken möchte,das essen hat keine Authentizität mehr sonder der Versuch eine möchtegerne Küche gespickt mit hohen Preisen einen edlen Anschein zu geben.
Schade ,das ist nicht mehr Portugal sonder hier ist auch schon der Massentourismus angekommen. Schade!!

Just walked in there with our daughter (5pm, Thursday). It was very quiet, but we were told by a waiter who muttered under his breath without looking up, that that the table we had just sat down at was reserved and the kitchen was closed. Can't rate the food since we didn't get the opportunity to try it, but it was made obvious to us that customer service is not a priority.

Die Dorade war wieder sehr gut. Das Personal ist leider sehr unfreundlich geworden. Das halbe Vergnügen.
Die ältere Dame am Nachbartisch hat vergebens um eine kleinere Portion gebeten. Schade!

Great restaurant right on the beachfront, superb selection of well priced fresh fish and definitely worth paying attention to the specials board. You need to book in advance, preferably by at least a couple of days but they do speak English over the phone.

Nice decor, beautiful position. That's it. We ordered 2 salads and waited 1 hour. The salads where really basic. Chicken salad with 5 thin slices of chicken breast and mostly lettuce. Old tomatoes to top (in summer I expect juicy and fresh tomatoes at the table).

Abbiamo provato a prenotare, più volte. Il personale evidentemente non è abituato a gestire il turismo, perché ci siamo sempre sentiti rifiutare un tavolo quando in realtà sarebbe bastato dirci di aspettare. Lo dico con cognizione di causa perché siamo andati a mangiare nel posto di fronte e abbiamo monitorato la situazione: non c'era tutta questa gente.

I will preface this with the fact that my wife and I didn't end up eating here. Let me tell you why. We stopped in for dinner the first night we were in Salema and took a flier on trying to get an outside table. We asked the waiter and he replied "no! I have two tables, there and there (both inside). That is all." I then asked if they had any tables outside opening up soon and he replied "no" and walked away. Well alright. We left since he didn't seem too interested in seating us. The next day my wife went in to order a drink. She wanted a virgin pina colada since she's pregnant. Bartender says "no we can't do that, the mix has alcohol. This is how it's made. There's nothing we can do for you." and walked away. Now, I know there's nothing he can do given there is alcohol in the mix but at least offer alternatives. So, yeah, two pretty terrible experiences. We didn't bother trying again. The view from the restaurant is nice though, and the loungers on the beach are comfy.

Nothing worth writing home about nor to repeat. Mediocre fish soup with lots of tomato chunks. A big piece of bread with thin slices of chicken breast and a piece of lettuce made up the chicken sandwich. The octopus salad tasted as if it were from a can, however, while we sat on the terraza with nice views a friendly catvisited us and we fed her the octopus. She loved it!
3.60€ each soup. 3.80€ sandwich and 8€ salad.

We sat at the veranda for our early evening dinner to watch the sunset. The view was amazing complemented by the amazing food and friendly waiters. The fish is freshly caught and they cook it to perfection. The lamb dish is so flavoursome.

We came in late in the day and all tables had a reservation on them but, the waiter gave us a table for 4 adults and a 20 month old little girly. Excellent food, with wonderfully fresh fish + a great service. I highly recommend this place but beware, you may need to book in advance ( we got lucky) :)

Gastlichkeit und Service ist dort unbekannt uns wurden keine Stühle angeboten anscheinend hat man dort kein Interesse Gäste freundlich zu bewirten.

Pide sardinas asadas.buena ubicación frente a las hamacas de la playa.los cohetes me los reservo.atencion de los camareros correctos.pedi guisado a modo de fideos gordos con pescado.pasable. Sardinas muy buenas.buena opción en este pueblo pesquero.

Nice spot on the beach. Had a good house vinho verde with some nice grilled fish for lunch. Lots of tourists, but good food and a great view.
