The place is good but to windy. Breakfatsis very weak. Not to much to choose. The cleaning ladies do not show respect with the guest making lots of noise at 8.30 banging doors. Recptions and bar staff very nice. Rooms very basic but clean.

A nice quiet hotel, could do with a modernisation ie. a bit of painting, kettle and brew kit in rooms. Nice little bar, evening meal was excellent as was the bar snack, was disappointed with breakfast, scrambled egg was dry, the sausages were always cold and when it ran out no one around to restock so you either look for them or wait.
Rooms were good, cleaned everyday the lady who cleaned worked like a Trojan we were extremely pleased with her.
The staff are very friendly and helpful we were very impressed with all the staff.
Nice walk into village but steep uphill walk on way back.
Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely the points I picked up are only minor points, quiet and friendly and I'm happy to recommend it if you looking for somewhere nice, comfortable, friendly and quiet, no kids when we were there.

Ontbijt goed, restaurant goed. Personeel uitmuntend vriendelijk! Alles is schoon en netjes. Bedden liggen prima. Zwembad temperatuur is ook goed en de liging is fenomenaal.

Local com vista espetacular, atendimento ao estilo familiar, o edifício começa a mostrar sinais da idade mas limpo, a piscina é agradável mas necessita de uma manutenção um pouco mais aprumada.
A recepção estava durante a estadia deserta mas facilmente alguém resolvia bastava descer para o andar de baixo. Em suma vale a pena.

Hotel ideal para quem gosta de sossego a um hora do Algarve. Fica mesmo isolado, nomeio da serra.
O quarto era o ideal para dois adultos e uma criança.
Infelizmente não pudemos experimentar a piscina, que era muito bem situada e com uma vista espetacular em redor.
Tem restaurante, o que dá muito jeito para quem não se quer deslocar para longe.
O pequeno almoço é muito bom e os empregados muito simpáticos.

A cidade é pequenina mas muito simpática e acolhedora. Pegamos uma estrada que nos levaria a uma nascente que forma uma piscina de água natural muito gelada. Um lugar para fazer um pequinique. Tem um bar com uma boa cerveja ou um café e ainda local para fazer um delicioso churrasquinho. Um lugar que transmite paz. Adorei

Its ok but nothing special. So summer prices of 100 euros or more is not a good deal. The place is dated and the rooms although adequete are not very good. Breakfast very basic ie cheese ham bread and cereal. Tv in rooms hardly any channels. Shower like a tap. Gardens are nice as is the view. Was with my son so we had a good time anyway.

Elke ster waard die ze hebben. Zeer behulpzame, meertalige, vriendelijke staf. Prima restaurant en goede ruime en van alle gemakken voorziene hotelkamers. Ruim balkon, mooi uitzicht, zwembad en zonneweide er bij. Tennis banen achter in de tuin dus voor elk wat wils. Hier houden wij het wel een poosje uit.

Alte hotel , tiene mucho encanto, una vistas preciosas, una pequeña piscina soleada por las mañanas bonitos jardines y una temperatura ideal que hace la estancia tranquila y agradable. Nosotros, dos adultos y cuatro adolescentes, solo paramos una noche ya que el viaje tenía el objetivo de pasar un día en el parque de Zoomarine. El personal muy amable, el desayuno muy bueno y en un salón con ventanales amplios. Los jóvenes disfrutaron de la piscina y del entorno. lo único que no nos agradó fue la incomodidad de las camas supletorias. Buena relación calidad precio. Probablemente volveremos.

Gostei do Hotel e já não é a primeira vez que vamos de férias para Alte e ficamos neste hotel, staff excelente e acolhedores. Quanto à alimentação bastante boa, apresentação e confecção acima da média apenas um senão as bebidas não estão incluídas na meia pensão, de resto nada a salientar.

Vista do quarto muito bonita, bom pequeno almoço, pessoal simpatico mas... muito pouca mão de obra! Ausência de rececionista a tempo inteiro, talvez justificado pela época baixa, mas sabendo da passagem pelo local da volta ao algarve devia de haver outro cuidado. O quarto era fraquinho. TV muito pequena, as torneiras da casa de banho com alguns problemas. Razoável.

Not a well-kept hotel. The furnitures are getting old, and the equipments (airco, bathroom heater) are rusty. Breakfast is poor, and they do not refill when something is empty. Not a recommendation at all.

Stayed at this hotel 6 times and always have a comfortable stay.This last visit was during a storm. The hotel was warm and comfortable with no impact on their usual great customer service. A special mention to the young lady on reception whose friendly bubbly personality shone through.Finally the restaurant has never failed to serve up quality well presented food.

Lovely staff and the hotel is situated well for visiting other areas of the Algarve.My only criticism is that the tv in our room was ancient and incapable of satellite reception.. we requested a replacement but it never arrived.Otherwise I will recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet. Exceptionally clean throughout.

Endroit magnifique cependant les chambres sont un peu obsolètes et odeur désagréable d'égout et le petit déjeuner à 8h déjà plus de lait chaud ni croissants ni jus d'oranges (p'tit déj qui débute à 7h30)et personne pour réapprovisionner !
Restaurant très bonne qualité dommage par rapport aux prix, reste élevé par rapport aux autres.

Traditional and a bit past it’s best, but comfortable enough for a few nights. Thin walls - bad news if your neighbors like to watch TV at full volume ( luckily I changed rooms). Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool. Isolated and about 1km from the small village of Alte. Can be windy due to being high up in the hills.

Es war Ende der Saison und ich wollte was anders erleben, d.h. abseits des Tourismus. Das Dorf Alte liegt in der Gemeinde Loule (sprich nicht in Loule selbst). Das Hotel lag 700m vom Dorf entfernt. Es hatte einen wunderschoenen Ausblick und war total ruhig. Das Essen war sehr gut und das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Dorf war klein und fein. Typisch und authentisch. Es war was Besonderes.

Le restaurant était très beau en salle ,le chef très sympathique et sa
cuisine excellente.Nous étions 17 personnes et n'avions pas réservé .
L'accueil fut très chaleureux et l'ambiance ne s'est pas ternie de notre petite attente pour se restaurer après une grande randonnée autour de Alte. Tarifs normaux pour ce type d'établissement avec grand parking .Belle vue en supplément.

The 30 room Hotel Alte is situated in a quiet and peaceful location 300+ metres above sea level with far reaching views. The property is in need of updating but was clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful and, for the price paid, our stay was good value for money. Rooms have air conditioning, there is a pool with a lawned area for sunbeds, a tennis court a snooker table and a restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner. We were more than happy with our stay and may well return the next time we choose Portugal as a holiday destination. Despite some previous critical reviews we read, any concerns we had were unfounded. Fantastic value but dont expect 5 Star luxury. Do expect a quiet unpretentious hotel, away from the tourist hotspots, plenty of parking and with staff who all work to make sure your stay is enjoyable.From 2 very satisfied senior citizens.

We went on our jeep safari to eat at this hotel.
It was delicious and the people were all very nice.
Unfortunately, I can not say much about the Hotal. Except that you have a very nice view.
Wir waren auf unserer Jeep Safari zum Essen in diesem Hotel.
Es war sehr lecker und die Leute waren alle sehr nett.
Zum Hotal kann ich daher leider nicht viel sagen. Außer dass man einen sehr schönen Ausblick hat.

Quanto ao pequeno almoço , também não era mau.. somente que quando chegámos para o tomar era 9.45 e é até às 10.30... não havia, quase nada.. pedimos ovos e salsichas e.. não apareceram..e depois á saída lembrei á funcionária a quem tinha pedido e a resposta não foi nada humilde..enfim .
De resto tudo bem, e pretendo voltar

Helpful with 24hr reception. Location excellent on hill with great views, close to long distance path, village a shortish walk away. Breakfast ok but not special. Room fairly spacious but furnishings a bit staid and elderly. Restaurant limited choice but good at what it does, hearty main dishes in regional style with good meat and fish.

Olá, só para dizer que gostei do alte hotel e arredores.
O hotel não é de luxo, mas tem todas as condições para se passar um fim de semana de descanso.
Uma vista deslumbrante, quarto com bom aquecimento, bom pequeno almoço, o restaurante com comida saborosa...
E acima de tudo funcionários muito simpáticos.

We came to the Alte hotel for a meal as part of our day trip package around the Algarve. We had vegetable soup starter, piri piri barbeque chicken for main and fruit for desert. Overall a good meal with fantastic views from it's elevated position.

Das Haus ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber man ist sehr bemüht, alles in Schuss zu halten.Da klemmen schon mal die Schranktüren und die Badewanne hat einen unschönen Plastikvorhang.Alles ist sauber, wenn auch alt. Der Swimmingpool wird gepflegt, ist Ende Oktober allerdings ziemlich kalt.Kleine Unannehmlichkeiten werden bei weitem aufgewogen durch das sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal.Als Gast fühlt man sich wohl in einer ungezwungenen Atmosphäre.Das Hotelessen entspricht gutem portugiesischem Standard

as Hotel Alte liegt schön, man geniesst die herrliche Aussicht und die schönen Sonnenuntergänge. Viele jungen Servicekräfte an der Rezeption und im Restaurant sind engagiert und geben sich Mühe. Das war es dann aber schon auf der positiven Seite. Das Negative überwiegt. Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und würde in verschiedener Hinsicht Neuerungen bedürfen (Anstrich, Betten). Hilfreich wäre auch, wenn es Möglichkeiten gäbe, Wäsche aufzuhängen, z.B. die nassen Badetücher vom Pool. Auch ein Kühlschrank wäre bei sommerlichen Temperaturen nicht verkehrt. Auch das Restaurant überzeugt nicht, vor allem was die Frische anbelangt. Wir waren an 5 Tagen im Restaurant, der Apple Pie und vermutlich auch die anderen Nachspeisen waren am letzten Tag noch die gleichen wie am ersten Tag – nicht mehr wirklich frisch. Eine Halbpension ist nicht zu empfehlen, auch wenn sie preislich günstig ist. Aber der Preis ist ja nur die eine Seite, die Leistung müsste auch stimmen. .

Local impróprio para descansar, pois há muito barulho desde muito cedo. Portas a bater, arrastar de camas para colocar nos quartos e o carrinho de limpeza ecoam pelos corredores. As cortinas dos quartos não escurecem o suficiente e entra muita luz de manhã. No entanto as pessoas que lá trabalham são bastante simpáticas e atenciosas

Helpful staff. Comfortable beds although one was really squeaky when ever you moved! The Air Conditioning was very efficient but it leaked and was a little smelly-this was dealt with by management during our stay.Lovely pool and surrounding gardens with spectacular views. Alte é uma aldeia pitoresca no interior do concelho de Loulé. Alte é conhecida além fronteiras, pela sua beleza natural. Ali nasce a ribeira de Alte, com as suas duas fontes: Fonte Grande e Fonte Pequena, e a Queda do Vigário.
Em Alte temos várias festevidades ao longo do ano, e em particular a semana cultural que culmina com o 1º de Maio.
Alte localiza-se a 23 km de Loulé, e a 20 km de Albufeira.

The hotel could use a general remodel, but the worst thing was when we realized as a married couple, our room had two separated twin beds. My husband went to the reception to ask if they had a room available with joined beds to what the concierge responded that we joined them our selves.

The location is fantastic with breath taking views. You will need a car to travel out each day but other areas of the Algarve are easily accessible by road. The hotel has friendly staff and is pleasant to stay in. The decor is dated and the rooms are basic. We found the corridors echoed a lot making the hotel seem noisy. Tried to use our room to rest on very hot afternoons but it was too noisy with the cleaners shouting and banging doors. This continued to 4/5 in the afternoon. The biggest bug bear was the limited wifi. The connection in our room was very weak forcing us to continually use the reception area to get a stronger signal. Restaurant serves good food - especially fish. But service in restaurant/bar can be slow - even by Portuguese standards! Great place to stay for a few nights but not longer.

Estive uma semana neste hotel. De inicio ficamos um pouco reticentes, contudo passamos uma semana excelente. Destaco a vista excelente, a simpatia das suas gentes e o excelente serviço no restaurante do hotel. Obrigado

Servicio justo, con un buffet de desayuno algo escaso. Sitio "rústico" por no decir viejo, la cama te clava los muelles a cada movimiento y la decoración y el interiorismo recuerda a los años 70. Apto justo para dormir y desayunar.

We again have enjoyed our stay at alte hotel, so relaxing, with more than helpfull friendly staff, we dined in the restaurant nearly all of our stay , food of very good quality, very ample portion sizes, lots of choice and lovley fresh fish, all homemade deserts, fantastic,

A most quiet and relaxing break, very pleasant staff very helpful, food was very good, locally produced wines available, black pork, squid kebab most enjoyable, good varietyat the continental breakfast, comfortable room very clean, powerfull shower albeit over the bath, good beds no back ache,view over the clean pool with small terrace south facing, over the pool, although, the garden rooms also overlooking the tennis courts were good, would have loved to have stayed longer, cannot wait to return, good.

Os quartos muito velhos.... as camas, os colchões, o wc, o ar condicionada não funcionou. Muito mau.

Beds not brilliant. Staff wonderful. Food good if you like fish. Service very good. Pool nice if a bit small. TV very small. Could do with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in room. A car is a must

El hotel Alte, se encuentra a las afueras del pueblo Alte.Tiene unas vistas de mirador hacia paisaje de campo, y a lo lejos se visualiza la costa (hay mucha distancia hasta la playa más cercana)Está enclavado en lo alto de una colina y, para acceder a este hay que tomar caminos poco indicados y nada visibles de noche, por la nula iluminación en la carretera. (Si te pierdes, es bastante difícil reencontrar el camino correcto, todos parecen iguales y no están indicados). Las habitaciones son muy sencillas, de acondicionamiento y de limpieza.Las instalaciones del hotel aceptables, pista de tenis y piscina pequeña.El personal amable.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 week. The staff were very friendly and spoke Excellent English. The facilities were clean, including the pool and tennis court, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. I would say the only gripe is the uphill walk to the hotel from Alte village (15 minute walk). Id definitely stay again.

Un hotel acogedor, pequeñito, para relajarse pues sólo se oye el campo, eso sí no es posible acceder sin coche. La comida bien, un poco cara y poca variedad, el desayuno que se incluye, no está mal.

ESTAMOS MUY CONFORMES CON LA ATENCION DEL PERSONAL DEL HOTEL , ESTA ALEJADO DE LA PLAYA PERO AL IR EN COCHE NO TUVIMOS MAYORES PROBLEMAS , EL PRECIO ES EL MEJOR POR LO QUE ESTAMOS MUY CONFORMES CON LO QUE HEMOS PAGADO , RECOMENDABLE PARA LOS QUE VAN EN COCHE .

Encantámo-nos com a paisagem. O Hotel é despretensioso, arejado, simpático, com espaços diversificados agradáveis, desde a piscina, aos jardins, ao restaurante e ao bar.
Com dois filhos de 11 e 20 anos e uma mãe de 87, o hotel conseguiu satisfazer todos os gostos. Pena só termos marcado um dia... Ficou a vontade de voltar.
