Undoubtedly one of the best menu’s in Iberia. Despite an absence of red meat, nearly every course on the tasting menu was excellent. The highlights were the Azores Tuna bite, served on a large tuna’s vertebrae, and the Amberjack sashimi. Basics like warm bread, were reimagined and sauced up to new heights, as “Atlantic Nori Bread.” The service was on point, and the Som picked 2 appropriate whites that paired well. The saucy collaborations, creative genius, Algarve fresh ingredients, and proximity to the Atlantic & Mediterranean, is a mecca of unfair advantages. All factors considered, I need to rank Ocean Restaurant higher than the best 3 meals ive had in NY. (Per Se, Jean-Georges, and Daniel.) Only Akelare, in Donostia, Gipuzkoa, España, was better.

Absolutely a do not miss dining experience. Not an inexpensive meal. But it is a 14 course dining experiance. Service unmatched , flavors and presentation works of art. Pictures cannot do them justice. Oceans, books well in advance so you will need to book a few weeks ahead, or you will miss this opportunity. A very special treat for anyone who loves flavor. This restaurant has forever changed my views of a five star meal.

Fabuleux restaurant où l inventivité du chef est remarquable. Nous y allons depuis 3 ans et la finesse et subtilité des saveurs vont crescendo. À quand le troisième macaron qui serait largement mérité tant le service, le cadre (face à l océan Atlantique) sont à la hauteur de la cuisine entre terre et mer bref tout y est.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in my life. It was nothing less than magical from the second we walked into the door. The hostess was the star of the evening as she went above and beyond to accommodate us. Over the years of visiting fine dining restaurants, they tend to feel somewhat sterile. Oceans not only maintains the execution of a 2 Michelin Star restaurant, they do it while still making you feel genuinely invited. Will definitely be back.

Wenn man die Superlative für dieses Restaurant bemühen möchte, sollte man es nicht OCEAN, sondern HIMMEL nennen! Was Hans Neuner auf die Teller katapultiert, bewegt sich zwischen himmlischen Olympiasiegen und einem Jahrhundertsommer, zwischen einer Traumhochzeit und wildem Abenteuer! Wenn das Service-Team wie in einer Sofia-Coppola-Inszenierung die Teller zum Gast balanciert, fühlt man sich wie in einer Opernpremiere an der Scala. Zur Eröffnung des Essens klingelt der Oberkellner ein Mini-Glöckchen wie an Weihnachten. Die schönste Bescherung sind dann alle die Feuerwerks-Gänge, die auf dem Tisch erstrahlen. Gourmet-Sterne-Michelin.... alles untertrieben... HANS, the only Ocean!

We dined at this Michelin restaurant for our anniversary in September 2019 and we loved the food and ambiance. The view is so serene and the tables are not close to one another giving each group privacy. Service was excellent, very professional and waiters spoke several languages. The sommelier was very attentive. They were also very flexible in accommodating my dietary restrictions. They even followed up with an additional dessert plate that said "Happy Anniversary" on it. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone that visits the Algarve.

My wife and I dined at the restaurant in October and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The waiters were very attentive and informative. However, I am a wheelchair user and was very suprised to discover that there were no facilities for the disabled. There are steps to negotiate where a portable ramp would have been expected. I had to suffer the embarrassment of being lifted in my wheelchair by four waiters in order to access the dining area. In addition although we arrived early and there was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time we were not allowed to sit at any of the tables that had a nice view of the bay. Instead we were relegated to the back of the restaurant presumably so that no one else could see us. These issues were reported to a member of the hospiatilty staff but we have not received any response.

Fantastic experience. The big tasting menu (210 €/person) is absolutely perfect, presentation of the dishes very nice and original. Service is perfect and competent. Why not 3 stars Michelin ?

Une explosion de saveurs, des assiettes surprenantes et joliment dressées...Un service aux petits oignons, pas envahissant ;c'était un plaisir de venir ici ... Deux étoiles amplement méritées!

Das Essen, der Service und die Atmosphäre waren großartig!

Katastrophale Organisation Ich habe vor über 2 Monaten einen Tisch für 2 Personen reserviert. Trotz mehrmaliger Nachfrage (4mal) einer Bestätigungs-E-Mail, habe ich eine Solche nie erhalten. Als ich am Tag der Reservierung nochmals (!) anrief und zur Sicherheit nachfragen wollte, ob die Reservierung in Ordnung sei, wurde mir gesagt man habe mich versucht zu erreichen (habe keinen Anruf erhalten) und somit die Tischreservierung gelöscht wurde. Fazit: Ich war in diesem Restaurant bereits vor einigen Jahren und die Küche war sehr gut. Wenn ich eine Reservierung mehrere Monate vorher mache, mehrmals das Restaurant kontaktiere und dann eine unverständliche Stornierung der Reservierung erhalte, finde ich das eine bodenlose Frechheit.

Superb restaurant. The location and views are stunning. We were seated at a table in the don’t overlooking the beach. Just amazing. The staff was so warm and friendly. My wife and I opted for the smaller “Ocean” menu and wine pairing. I can’t imagine having more as this was very filling. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful and prepared some fantastic wines for us. If you are staying at Vila Vita Parc a reservation is a must. So far on this trip with time the two Michelin star restaurants in Portugal. Ocean and The Yeatman in Porto. This one is the winner.

Unbelievable service! To the point they go above and beyond what’s expected or experienced before. Seriously never experienced it like this and that’s after dining in the fineeat restaurants in London. Food was delicious and wine pairing on point. Even requested wine list so could buy a few bottles for home. Thank you!

I wanted to wait until the next day to post so that I wasn't a prisoner of the moment. I'm so glad I did because it confirmed what a wonderful time we had last night with chef Hans Neurner. His dishes are a culinary experience with varied flavors and textures. Imagine a trip where you get to experience southern comfort food from the US, proper French delicacies, curry from south Asia, Italian fine dining, desserts to die for and creativity second to none. Now imagine all of that cuisine could be prepared at one place and presented in a way where each dish transitions seamlessly... that is the best I can do to describe the culinary journey we were treated to last night. I was excited to try Ocean restaurant at Villa Vita Parc, but after reading some of the negative reviews my wife and I had second thoughts. Luckily she persuaded me that we should dine here, and I'm so glad we did. I don't know if those negative reviewers were having a bad day themselves and allowed that to influence their experience, but this restaurant is a well oiled machine. From the service staff to the wine list and every dish that came out of that kitchen, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this place you will not be disappointed. My wife and I are both vegetarian (I used to eat meat) and the creativity used in these dishes made the experience even more impressive. That being said the diners at the table adjacent to ours also raved about the preparation and presentation of the seafood, beef and pork. After the meal concluded and my wife and I were discussing how impressive everything had been, then the chef invited us back to the kitchen and his enthusiasm, graciousness and humility capped the evening making it one that we will never forget.

Netter Service, essen sehr gekünstelt, nichts von bleibender Erinnerung wo man sagen würde damals im ocean da habe ich etwas super tolles gegessen, leider fehlende detaillierte Kenntnisse ueber die angebotenen weine,, man isst besser z.b. Im Aladin und im leao de porches. Dort sind gute Kenntnisse der angebotenen weine vorhanden. Toller Blick auf den Atlantik.

No tienen a nadie que te explique los platos en español, con lo que la experiencia gastronómica pierde un poco. Con respecto a los comensales, parece que no todo el mundo entiende "elegant eveningwear"

Ein rundum gelungener Abend. Essen auf höchstem Niveau mit tollen Gerichten. Wir hatten das Große Menü und es hat uns alles sehr begeistert. Ist eine Reise wert.

Service and setting 10/10. Only offer set menu. As another reviewer stated, some very weird food combinations. Oyster / fois gras / pineapple, some sort of tomato sorbet and red bream with a side of fish soup polenta. All in all some weird and unappetizing food pairings. Sadly, this was my first Michelin experience and for the price ($700 euros / table of 4) the experience was quite a let down. I consider myself to have a pretty advanced pallet, yet I found this meal unappetizing. Even the dishes I enjoyed, were nothing to write home about.

It is rare that I feel the need to write a review but in this case I think it is worth it. Having read the other reviews of the Ocean, my wife and I were excited to try it. Starting with the positives - The service, if a little slow despite not being full, was generally very attentive and the staff were pleasant. The décor and the setting are both stunning and there are few restaurants with better views (we luckily had a table by the window), and if this was what I was rating the restaurant on alone it would score a 10/10, unfortunately this is not the case. My wife and I opted to go for the smaller tasting menu at 135 Euros a head - which puts in on par, in terms of pricing, with similar 2 star restaurants in central London. Overall, the bill came to 170 euros a head (with only a couple of drinks). They do not offer an A la carte menu which is a major negative to start, especially if your wife is pregnant and can’t eat some of the dishes, they did very little to suggest alternatives. We had to tell the staff what she could and couldn’t eat. The smaller tasting menu is the equivalent of 6 courses. Starting with snacks which consist of four small plates. All four of these were uninspiring and the flavour combinations in some were strange, some lacked flavour and some were just unpleasant (eel and pork). Moving onto the main dishes. The Swordfish was decent enough if not a little bland, the John Dory was well cooked but could have done with more of the consommé. The Lamb was also well cooked but had an overly sweet crust on the top which it didn’t need (think it was added just so it could be flamed at the table). The Comte course was very poorly executed and the texture of the Fig panna cotta (or whatever it was) really didn’t work. Finally the chocolate orange dessert was equally poorly textured and flavoured and was unpleasant to eat. Overall the main dishes, whilst they showed lots of technical ability in the cooking, the flavour combinations and textures did not work. Having eaten on many occasions at Michelin Star restaurants and given the price of the meal it was most disappointing. Having overheard some of the comments of other diners on the next door table, I think we were not the only disappointed couple. The chef appears to be trying too hard to put together flavour combinations and textures which actually do not work. Given the technical ability is clearly there, it seems strange that this restaurant lets down so badly on this front. All in all, I am very surprised this has 2 Michelin stars, if I compare it to other 2 star restaurants I have been to. In fact, plenty of 1 star restaurants produce significantly better food than this, at much better value for money. It is such a shame given the beautiful setting (assuming one of the 4 tables by the window) that this place delivers such average food.

Excellent experience on a beautiful resort. One of the best (if not the best) in Portugal. Can't believe the one star rating. That one cannot be a real review.
