Food was great. Very good value for money. Only downside was that it felt they were pushing us to finish our food and go, due to the next reserved timeslot (even though there was still plenty of time).

Es war ein windiger sonniger Abend. Wir saßen auf der Terrasse, 2 Kinder 3 Erwachsene, wir hatten ein wunderbare Essen, der Wind wurde stärker, kein Problem für das überaus freundliche Personal und herein zu bitten. Der pulpo war hervorragend, der Lotte ebenso, dass vegane Kichererbsen Gericht ein Traum. Ein leckeres Portweindessert rundet alles ab. Wir kommen wieder!

Bonne adresse, bon repas et bon service. Les gens sont très aimables et parlent même français. La terrasse est très agréable.
La carte est variée et tout est bon. Les prix sont un peu élevés compte tenu du pouvoir d'achat local.

Heartwarming to read all these positive reviews, they are all very true. My husband and I had dinner here last night, and it was just fantastic. We opted for the prawns pili pili and a phyllo goat cheese starters, octopus and monkfish/shrimp main courses, and shared the orange and almond cake for dessert. Would recommend all these plates. Service was lovely, such friendly people. Very busy, running at full capacity from what I could tell, but never felt it. We walked in without a reservation but would advise to call ahead. Looking forward to returning once more before the end of our holidays.

Excellent service. Marcio was particularly helpful and provided exceptional service. Very comfortable atmosphere and food delicious. We don't speak any Portuguese and they were very accommodating with an English menu and very friendly.

Op onze laatste dag in Albufeira hier gegeten en geen spijt gekregen! Zeer vriendelijke en attente bediening. Gerechten waren smaakvol en mooi opgediend. Heel kindvriendelijk: kindermenu in de vorm van een kleurplaat en er is een speelkamer. We hadden genoten!

Popped here as it was local and I'm so glad I did. The chef was giving out an amuse bouche which was lovely. The prawns were delicious and they served some bread alongside so I didn't miss out on the sauce. I followed this with the steak which was perfectly cooked. I also recommend getting the mouse to finish as it was so creamy and smooth. Highly recommend!

Delicious food. Ofcourse it's a bit more pricy than other restaurants in the neighborhood but the food is delicious and totally worth it. The service is great, they're very polite and overall high quality. When in the neighborhood or staying near here I recommend it very much, it was the best restaurant in my week staying here.

Buen restaurante con una estrella michelín. Se como bien con platos cocinados de forma excelente, la carta, al menos en Octubre, bastante corta y sin platos de comida tradicional portuguesa. Visited this restaurant twice on our recent holiday and cannot fault it. Food was fantastic with a good choice for vegetarians and kids. The staff were brilliant and recommended wines and desserts very well. Will definitely return here

Good food and pleasant service (that you will sometimes have to flag down). Dinner was tasty here and it was a pleasant surprise as it seemed to be a themed restaurant, nautical. I normally am not into theme parks as they can be used as a distraction from quality food but I was surprised in a good way and enjoyed the meal. Wine was nice as well.

Had great food again at O Marinheiro. We always choose fish or seafood because we like the way they present it, but they also have an extensive meat menu. Attentive staff, make you feel welcome. The ambience in this restaurant is very good. Very smart both inside and out. We make a point of calling in at least twice during our holiday.

Jantámos no restaurante O Marinheiro no domingo ee a experiência foi totalmente alcançada.
Marcámos telefónicamente mesa para duas pessoas, com hora de chegada 21:30h.
Chegámos 15 minutos antes da hora, esperámos um pouco mas fomos atendidos de forma simpática e cordial.
O espaço é muito bonito, moderno, elegante e sofisticado.
O atendimento foi atencioso, disponível e com ótima disposição.
O tempo de espera não foi rápido mas sem saturar com a atenuante de ser numa hora de grande afluência.
Iniciámos com folhado de queijo de cabra com figos confitados em mel, imperdível.
Os pratos principais estavam com excelente apresentação e cozinhados de forma exemplar: Salmão marinado com risotto de rucula e legumes em molho de iogurte e lombinhos de Borrego grelhados sobre molho Provençal servido com batata gratinada.
Terminámos com Creme Burlee.
Acompanhámos com o vinho Cabrita tinto Negra Mole 2016.
Saímos com vontade inequívoca de voltar.

Vinimos mi acompañante y yo a este sitio por las recomendaciones y tampoco es para tanto, es verdad que el sitio es muy guapo y agradable pero, la atención dejó mucho que desear en cuanto a la espera. Además, el entrante vino frío y la carne que pedimos estaba bien, literalmente bien, ni muy buena ni muy mala, aceptable. Demasiado caro para la calidad que ofrecen.

Decent place, a little outside of the city that requires a reservation for a guaranteed table. The food is fresh and tasty, portions are just right and the menu has a good mix between fish, meat and few vegetarian options. We had rib eye and shrimp/monkfish which was both very good. The service however is not really attentive (at least for busy times) and takes quite a time. From arriving and until seating it’s been almost 10 minutes. The actual service, when getting it, is polite and good. I might come back if close around but would not with a long ride.

El local es muy agradable y tranquilo, no hay grandes voces y la gente mantiene conversaciones a un volumen normal, lo que lo hace un lugar ideal. La atención exquisita desde la entrada hasta el final. Para el español el problema es que no hay carta en español y tampoco hablan español. La comida perfecta, pedimos pescado, muy bien hecho y acompañado, el postre muy bueno también. El precio,no es excesivamente caro, pero tampoco mucho, oscila entre 9 y 19 euros, según lo que se pida, pero merece la pena por el sitio y sobre todo por el trato del personal. Repetiría sin dudarlo.

Imprescindible si estás por esta zona. Nada que ver con muchos de los restaurantes de Albufeira, masificados y con un producto y servicio más que mejorable. Aquí encontrarás productos de primera calidad, un servicio muy atento y profesional, preparación de los platos muy bien y un precio muy asequible para la calidad que ofrece. Muy recomendable

Mycket trevlig restaurang som absolut är värt ett besök. God mat och helt ok priser med tanke på att stället är omnämnt i Michelinguiden 2017 och 2018. Betyget är mer 4,5 men det som drar ner femman något är att personalen var lite ouppmärksamma. Rekommenderar verkligen ett besök.

Nice, upscale restaurant. Excellent and beautifully presented food and cocktails. Friendly, helpful service. Prices are a bit higher than in many other Portuguese restaurants but nevertheless worth it. Open late (we arrived ar 22.30 on a Friday and the kitchen was still open).

Sehr modern eingerichtet bei etwas gehobener Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist geschmacklich toll und sehr hübsch zubereitet, zudem sind die Gerichte auf der Speisekarte innovativ und zum Teil interessant zusammengestellt. Ein kleiner Gruß aus der Küche regt zusätzlich den Appetit an.

Hasta el momento el mejor sitio en el que comimos de toda nuestra estancia en Portugal!!! El personal atento, amable, pendiente de cómo estaba todo y de que no nos faltase nada... Y la comida de lujo... Pedimos unas gambas con una salsa buenísima como entrante...yo me pedí el rape con Gambon acompañado con arroz y salsa stroganoff... Estaba espectacular, nunca habia comido rape preparado así... Mi pareja se pidió un solomillo con patatas caseras que, además de tener un sabor espectacular estaba muy tierno... Volveremos sin duda.

In 13 Jahren war ich nun mehrere Male im O Marinheiro - und es war immer toll! Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam, die Atmosphäre entspannt-chic und das Essen lecker. Ich würde es jederzeit weiterempfehlen und komme auf jeden Fall auch im nächsten Portugal-Urlaub wieder zum Abendessen. ♡

My Fiance and I went here. The whole place was fantastic. We started at the bar where I was mesmerized watching the bartenders. Full on gourmet drink making. I cannot remember what my cocktail was called, but it was Rum and Passionfruit, it was absolutely delicious and beautifully served with half a pasionfruit that had been caramelized on top. Our waiter was very friendly, and couteous. We started with cheese, which was served with bread and some accompaniments, all yummy. My fiance had the Kebab, which was perfectly cooked. I had octopus which was fried, also perfectly cooked. The crem brulee was very good as well.

Essen an sich geschmacklich super! Dennoch sind die Portionen recht klein, für den doch recht teuren Preis. Für ein kleines Steak mit trockenen Kartoffeln knapp 20€ zu verlangen und wenn man eine Soße dazu möchte 2,50€ Aufpreis zu verlangen, finde ich schon eine Frechheit.

We were a big group of 15 (7 kids)dining out this evening and we had a fantastic meal with a very picturesque view. Everyone was really happy with their choices. Clean plates every time. The staff were so accommodating. Can't fault it.

Maravilhoso. I had the Marinherio classic, fresh monkfish and prawns in creamy tarragon sauce, absolutely fantastic. Completely indulgent, didn’t want the food to end. Paired with the waiter Marcio’s recommended Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down. Would eat again in a heart beat. Not Wetherspoons prices but you get what you pay for and it’s a real treat. Couldn’t recommend higher.

Oh my god....only a stones throw away from our lovely hotel (Hotel Baia Granda) such an amazing find. We didn't make a reservation but I would highly recommend you do. Its was soooooo busy, but the lovely manager/owner managed to get us a table the food was fantastic, all cooked fresh and all home made. Everything comes presented so elegantly. And all the waitresses were amazing, they couldn't do enough for you. Even if your not close to the restaurant highly recommend you book a taxi and get yourself down there...

Buena cocina y muchos detalles. El primero es que siendo un restaurante cuidado y elegante, está preparado para niños: tiene carta para ellos, e incluso un sala de juegos. Comida: pedimos unas gambas preparadas con una salsa, bien. Como principales un pulpo rebozado con puré de boniato: muy acertada la combinación, exquisito. El bacalao con base de garbanzos, pues fue lo que menos me gustó, los garbanzos para mi gusto algo duros y no acompañaban bien al bacalao. Con referencias en michelin y con precios altos: la exigencia es alta, por eso no califico con 5 estrellas.

Super découverte, nous étions 5. 3 entrées différentes, 3 plats différents et même les desserts étaient très bien réalisés. La qualité des produits étaient à la hauteur de la réalisation !
Le personnel était soucieux du bon déroulement de notre repas sans être oppressant.

20 euros une piece de boeuf de 160 grammes avec quelques pommes de terre frites. Une morue dix fois trop salée.
Le patron qui n'accepte pas les remarques...
Bref, passez votre chemin, ce restaurant est une honte.

Das O Marinheiro ist eins der besten Restaurants in welchem ich jemals war. Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis für die sensationell guten Gerichte ist absolut Klasse. Wir waren gleich drei mal in einer Woche dort. Mit dem Auto oder Taxi ist es von Albufeira aus in ca. 10 min erreichbar. Auch der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wenn möglich unbedingt draussen reservieren und den malerischen Sonnenuntergang beim Essen geniessen.

Delicious food with a cool and modern atmosphere!! The staff is friendly and helpful, the sangria is delicious!
Highly recommend the codfish (done in a Jasper oven) which was very very good! Also very good was the tuna tartare (crispy on the outside and raw-ish inside!). The octopus is good but it is not as special because it is cooked as a tempura (which is arguably a waste of such great seafood)!
Not cheap but worth the money! Prices range from 15-21€ for most mains!

Generally...average. If you go to a restaurant for just the atmosphere and ‘cute’ touches to decor then it’s a good place for that. Cannot fault the service and given complementary tasters for the long wait on food. The food looked very pretty when it came out and ‘instagramable’. But for me, if the food tastes average, none of that other stuff matters to me. Lacked seasoning. All style no substance. Poor use of the ‘fruits of the sea’. Very inventive use of ingredients but missed that last touch to make me say ‘that was really tasty’.

A exceptional restaurant that you'd expect to find in London. The menu is of the highest quality, the flavours of the dishes are amazing and the restaurant is quite modern for this area I'd say, which is quite refreshing the service is second to none, the only downside I can see is that because it is so good you may struggle to get a table so book in advarnce! One of our favorites in Galé, if you can have the grilled fish of the day, you should go for it. Service is very good and friendly and they also have a good wine selection (try the green wines, traditional from Portugal).

Well worth the visit. Lovely staff and very accommodating since we had not booked and had our 6 month old in the pram. They were very busy but the service was still impeccable. My partner and I ordered the fillet steak/pint of beer and ribeye steak/green wine and both were cooked perfectly on the grill served with sliced potatoes and peppercorn sauce on the side. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside or you can enjoy drinks outside. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Voldoet niet aan de verwachting. Zijn veroordeeld door hun succes. We hadden gereserveerd maar hebben ruim 10 min moeten wachten bij binnenkomst voordat iemand ons in de gaten kreeg. Te druk, te snel achter elkaar bediend alsof ze ons er snel doorheen wilde drukken terwijl we gereserveerd hadden om 21.00 uur. Verzoek was om 21.15 te komen. Om 21.25 werden we pas naar de bar begeleid om daar te wachten. Om half 10 de tafel toegewezen. Ze maken hun hoge cijfer niet echt waar.we voelden ons een nummer. Mijn kabeljauw was op het randje gaar.. Div graatjes waardoor eten je vergaat. Bij het vragen van de rekening stond de fles wijn niet op de rekening.. Slordig.. Toch maar aangegeven. Gaan niet meer terug.

Gutes Restaurant mit Verbesserungspotential. Das Carpacchio war von den Zutaten sehr gut, aber staubtrocken ohne jegliche Marinade, Olivenöl o. ä. Das Personal wirkt leicht überfordert und der Chef musste bei der Verabschiedung von den Gästen angesprochen werden. War die 160€ für 2 Erwachsene + 2 Kinder nicht wert. Wir haben in anderen Restaurants dieser Klasse für Vergleichbares 100€ bezahlt.

El ambiente logrado muy acogedor. La comida está bien, es una selección de platos muy apropiada. Calidad precio aceptable.
La sopa era algo más simple. El queso de cabra con ojaldre y mermelada de higos, tiene una combinación de sabores muy buena. El salmón en su punto, un toque saldo pero algo pequeña la pieza.
Un sitio recomendable, bonito y acogedor, pero la ubicación no acompaña ya que se encuentra rodeado de una zona residencial. Precio por cubierto unos 25€ por persona.

Om du just anlänt till Portugal och råkar ha bokat ditt boende inom en omkrets av ca 20 minuters gångväg från denna restaurang skall du nå få ett tips. Gå direkt hit och boka upp ett bord för samtliga kvällar av din vistelse. Sedan kommer du ha ett rent nöje att äta dig igenom deras fantastiska meny, som varierar friskt från fantasifulla primörer till charmanta klassiker. Allt tillrett med väl avvägd kompetens och känsla för detaljer. Som ett plus kommer du bli uppvaktad med en förstklassig och rapp service, som vid minsta problem ser till att du som gäst blir nöjd med din vistelse.
Detta utlåtande kan låta högtravande, och smickrande, men det kommer ju självklart också till ett pris. Dock inte i detta fallet. Att sitta av en 3 rätters på detta ställe kostar i pengar lika mycket som vilket annat ställe som helst i denna region av Portugal. Som jämförelse kommer du om du tar en promenad genom Albufeiras myller en onsdagskväll ha inkastare som drar i dig för att just du skall sätta dig på deras uteservering. Att med våld tvingas ner i stolen och få menykortet upptryckt i famnen är dock en krydda som ofta lämnar bitter eftersmak i gommen. Allt för många gånger har man blivit sittandes tuggande på en kärlekslöst tillredd skosula, bara för att sedan snabbt avyttras för att lämna plats åt nästkommande offer för omständigheterna.
Som kontrast är dock risken hög att om du inte bokar bord på denna pärla, inte heller får något bord om du bara går hit på vinst och förlust. Därför vill jag rekommendera en bokning i förväg, (OBS! Deras engelska är god). Dessa tråkiga nyheter levereras dock inte med någon sur eftersmak, utan dom gör alltid allt som står i dess makt för att lösa situationen, och om du känner dig manad finns alltid möjligheten att tillsamman med många andra sitta av en halvtimme i baren för att invänta ledigt bord.
Sammanfattningsvis skall du se denna recension som en definitiv rekommendation. Samtidigt vill jag trycka på vikten av att boka bord, särskilt om du åker en bit för att bli deras gäst (parkering är inga problem). Om du dessutom valt att bo i närheten är min rekommendation att lösa en stående bokning för hela vistelsen, och äta igenom deras meny. Det ångrar jag att inte vi gjorde.
Ät gott & lev väl, samt ha en trevlig vistelse i Portugal.

As another reviewer said the food was good, not great and I concur. The venue is fairly new/modern and comfortable, with a small amount of on-site parking and a quiet road. Worthy of a mention would be the staff, everyone was exceptionally friendly and cheerful which added to the whole dining experience.

Friendly staff who managed to fit us in despite being well booked up. Good choice of food. Some mains had poor presentation but tasted great. Deserts were all great, home-made and delicious. Cheese board was small, but perfectly presented. Would certainly go back.

We arrived as it opened. So popular that I suggest you book, but we were there early and got a table for 4 outside. The staff are very friendly and the food is of a very high standard. Two of us had sole from catch of the day and I had the tuna steak. Superbly cooked fish. Just a small note if you are on a budget, the catch of the day is priced by its weight (sole were €38 and €46). Great restaurant to visit and a good atmosphere

Ambiente und Bedienung sehr gut. Das Essen bleibt etwas hinter der Erwartung zurück. Preis Leistung Verhältnis okay.

Das Essen kann nicht besser sein "Perfekt". Der Service lässt keine Wünsche offen.
Das Lokal kann ich nur empfehlen! Ganz sicher 5 Sterne wert. Ein wunderschöner Abend zu zweit. Danke.

Vooral de garnalen als voorgerecht waren geweldig lekker. Lam als hoofdgerecht was niet bijzonder. Hier moet je vis eten!! Bediening was uitstekend.
