[PLEASE READ - I speak portuguese but will be reviewing in english so more people can be warned].
I was travelling to Lisbon with my parents and decided to rent a car with Sixt. My husband was the one who booked the car but since he was not there, we had to cancel the original reservation and do it again with my credit card. (for that already a charge was made - which was fine).
We signed and all good. Returned the car 5 days later and in that moment they said that a minor scratch was present in one of the windows. was so small that is not even visible in photos, only if you get a close look. We contested that this was already there, they agreed and we returned the car. All seemed fine. 45 days later, (FORTY FIVE DAYS!!!) we got a letter that they will charge for the scratch in my card 160 euros plus 35 euros just for the analysis of the scratch.
AND THEY DID.
They've charged 195 euros from my card almost TWO MONTHS AFTER RETURNING THE CAR!!!!
I tried to argue saying that this was illegit but then we are already back in our country so I can't go and complaint in person. They just replied that I knew the risks when I signed the contract so they will maintain this charge.
I have used car renting services in several countries, but this one was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING RENTING WITH SIXT PORTUGAL, please DON'T!!! It is not worth the risk. Specially if you live in another country.

Mentira estão fechados. Tenho o carro avariado. Pedimos um aluguer a rentalcars enviou nos para aqui e aqui o segurança diz nos que só no aeroporto. No aeroporto chegamos novamente fechado. Dizem para irmos ao prior velho. Aqui sim encontramos profissionais, pessoas que sem parar nos abriram a porta e verificaram a situação. A aplicação da rentalcars está mal, a sixt no Google diz estar aberta quando não está. Cuidado. Retiraram valores e mesmo assim ja fui informada que de nada serve pagarmos mais pelo seguro na rentalcars. Em qualquer situação é a sixt que respondemos. Partilhem. Estamos numa altura mal. A maioria em teletrabalho sem parar, não é por sairmos para um local que diminuimos o horario laboral. A aplicação e tudo que esta Aqui a dizer aberto está incorreto

My headphones were stolen by the cleaning staff. Worst customer experience of car rental ever. 40 minutes wait to pick up a prepaid reserved car with my documents already on their system. Avoid this branch.

Definitely I don't Recommend
I am very disappointed about Sixt company.
They are trying to steal money from me with different clauses in the contract.
I rented a car in Porto Airport on 23 March this year and was a huge mistake.
First of all, I do not understand why they returned my warranty and then after a month Said they found a scratch and we have to pay 300 euros. When I checked out the car they told I would not be charged for anything.
The scratch was hidden under the car and we had no way to looking under the car when we had rented the car. When I rented the car They announced me that it's a scratch on the back side the of the car. It's not a coincidence that the scratch they found was right under the scratch that they talking at the beginning. Both scratches were probably made at the same time by another client before me.
They are good at scamming people

Great experience; almost no waiting time, friendly and helpful service at the desk when going through the rental agreement. After that, we got an introduction to the car (thanks Jorge!) and even the navigation/entertainment system was set up in our own language.
Easy to find location, clean and premium car, smooth processes, toilets available, which is not standard in my experience.
Would definitely recommend; premium cars and premium service at really good prices.
Note: my opinion applies on the pick-up process only, as we dropped of the car elsewhere.

Bem fiz o aluguel do carro online só eles no site não avisa o valor do calção do carro e nem avisa também que não aceita VISAELETRON foi meio frustrante ter que colocar minha namorada como condutora adicional. Só por causa do cartão e também não tinha o carro que eu escolhi Megane ou GOLF, só tinha golf variante também tive que pagar mais 40 euros para pegar um carro do meu agrado.

Cheated in the final account. Signed us for "insurance", in case we bring the fuel tank empty. We brought it back full, and still they charged us for this outrageous sum. Searching the internet, it seems we're not the only customers to complain, so it must be in purpose.

I was very very apprehensive coming into my rental due to the many negative reviews. However, my experience was fantastic for the following reasons:
1. The pick up process was quick and efficient (less than 10 minutes). This was maybe helped because I completed my sixt online profile and linked it to my reservation ahead of time. We also arrived to pick up the car at 8am
2. We got a free upgrade on our rental
3. The car was in great condition and the provided e-toll service was efficient
4. The drop off was also very quick (less than five minutes)
I hope this helps some of you to feel a bit more relaxed about your upcoming rental

Habe in MUC einen BMW X4 für eine Woche mit Rückgabe in Wien angemietet, leider hat man vergessen, mich auf das fehlende Autobahnpickerl hinzuweisen, was die ohnehin happige Miete noch einmal um mehr als € 100 verteuerte.....ansonsten waren Fahrzeugzustand und Anmietvorgang tadellos

A fuir ! Réservations par internet jusque là tout vas bien. Arrivés à l’agence a peine bonjour ! Très long pour récupérer la voiture. PAR CONTRE C’EST INADMISSIBLE DE MENTIR SUR LES FRAIS OU DE NE MAS EXPLIQUER !!!
En recevant la facture une fois le véhicule restitué c’est la surprise !
Quand à la première location une semaine après je n’ai toujours pas la facture finale !!!
Première et dernière fois chez Sixt en tout cas au Portugal !
De plus pour les 2 locations aucun état des lieux de départ n’a été fait !!!

A viaturas são top e entregues impecáveis... a central de reservas funciona muito bem... só não tem 5 estrelas porque por culpa da política de reservas que não bloqueia uma viatura mas a gama sendo impossível de saber com que viatura vais andar...

The car I rented broke down. Help desk was unfriendly, unhelpful and unprofessional. Towing truck more than 2 hours just to find me with exact GPS coordinates. My day was completly ruined. On top of all, Sixt OVERCHARGED me, and ignored my letter of complaint. I definately do not recommend Sixt Portugal.

Contratto poco chiaro. Personale che risponde in modo approssimativo. Non fidatevi poichè oltre la lunga attesa che troverete avrete una fattura finale diversa da quella iniziale e ovviamente con costi aggiuntivi messi solo per far lievitare il prezzo . Direi compagnia più che truffaldina.

Auch wir haben dort trotz Reservierung über zwei Stunden auf das Auto gewartet! Außerdem wurden einem dann noch Leistungen (Versicherung) hinzugefügt, welche zuvor ausdrücklich abgelehnt wurden. Sehr freche Handhabung mit den Kunden. Mein Tipp: lieber auf einen anderen Anbieter ganz in der Nähe ausweichen.

Beeindruckend schlechter Service. Nicht nur, dass das bestellte Auto nach elender Warterei nicht verfügbar bar. Der Mitarbeiter hat obendrein das eigene Preismodel nicht verstanden und mir dadurch rd. 100€ unnötige Kosten verursacht. Schlechteste Sixt Station, die ich bisher erlebt habe.

this branch is an embarrassment to Sixt. The location is incredibly dirty, they’re inattentive to the customers (over 1 hour wait time) and they will add things to your contract event when you make it clear you do not want them. And lots of extras that ended up in a much more expensive rental than expected.
I cant accept this. This station is a disgrace. If you accept a station like that, Sixt has a severe problem.

Waited more than 1 hour even if we did the check in beforehand. It takes 15-20 min per group. Don’t be fooled by the email you’ll receive a few days before pick up. There is no express pick up. Despite having 10-12+ employees, service is very slow. They will also try to convince you to buy insurance, fuel, etc. If you have to check out from your hotel, do it before going to sixt.

I have waited to be serviced for an hr and a half. There were a total of 4 people in front of me and 3 customer service reps... I’m not even exaggerating! Admittedly I forgot my passport and was not able to pick up the car. When I asked if I can come back in shortly and be serviced without a line as a courtesy. I was told “only if there is no one else ahead of me”. What?! When I got upset and said that their service is “ridiculous” the rep had the audacity to talk back. At which point I had to tell him to “shut the f&$@ up”. This was the last time that I will book my card with SIXT and would not recommend this branch.

We came at 9:10, thinking we have plenty of time before the hotel checkout at 11:00. Fast forward at 10:20 we still didn’t have a car, so i went back to the hotel to do a checkout. What if that was a person travelling solo? No good answer. All reviews stating long waiting times are true. At first i was outraged that we had to spend 1.5 hrs just to get a car, but after reading the reviews it looks like we were lucky as it could have been longer. Also, the seat in women’s bathroom is not attached. You seat and then ooops, little surprise, it slides off. Toilet paper is not where it should be, but on the garbage bin, which is a bit too avant-gardiste for me. The sink is leaking water. Girl was speaking English and French, which is super nice, thus two stars and not one.

I wish I could leave no stars. This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. 2 AND A HALF HOURS WAITING TO GET A CAR WE DIDN'T EVEN BOOK. I've honestly never seen anything like it. Do yourself a huge favour. Believe the reviews about the wait times and the shocking 'customer service'. I ignored them, and let me tell you, when I was sitting in front of the sixt kiosk with about 50 other people, and my two small children, I wished I had spent the extra money and went with one of the better rental companies. I watched as they conducted normal business with people, while we sat sweating waiting for our number to be called. And by the way, when our number finally did come up, the rep that we got was in no hurry, and we were put into a car we not only didn't order, but was too small for our family. It was unsafe, we had suitcases jammed between the front and back seats on the floor in front of our kids car seats. We only came with hand luggage, it wasn't like we had big suitcases. I attempted to argue this with the pick-up counter, and she tried to tell me the hatchback we were being given had the same room as the SUV we had rented. I heard this happening to others as well. Can't stress enough, NEVER AGAIN. DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

The worst car rental customer service I have experienced. I ordered a Renault for rent for 12 days with full insurance for car, tyres and windows for around 500€.
First our car was 2 hours late and this annoying slimy guy gave us ”upgrade for bullshit BMW”, and tried to add some other bullshit extras trying to charge us for around 1000€?? Double the orginal rent price which allready included full insurance for the car?
In the end I had to pay 100€ extra for ”a car upgrade” which I didnt ask or wanted. The customer service when returning the car was bad aswell. The last time I will rent a car from SIXT.

Worst car rental place you can possibly imagine. It's a better choice to either walk, take a donkey or buy a car yourself. I'm serious. Waiting time is between 1.5 and 3 hours. We calculated the time one "service" agent needs per customer and it's around 30min or more. "For what?", you might ask - well, we have no idea. There is no visible system in place, cars are randomly driven out of the garage, parked, driven back in. After it was finally our turn it took another 20 minutes at the counter even though we had already prebooked online. Every single customer who left the rental place displayed emotions ranging from despair pure rage. Believe us and don't go there. Pick Hertz or anything else.

During rental on 29th February, employee from Sixt Lisbona Downtown, assured me, that SIXT will return me value of unused fuel. I asked him three times if he is sure, that it will happen and he confirmed.
For me it was very important, because I rent four cars on from SIXT. And now, i loss about 30 Euro x 4 = 120 EUR, due to statement of SIXT employee.
I am very dissatisfied, because I trusted your employee. Other way, I would not agree for "Prepaid fuel" option for sure.

Prišli sme tam 19:46 zatvárajú 20:00 vybavili nás za pár minút potrebovali OP, vodičský a kreditku kde si zobrali kauciu 300€ požičali sme si hatchback, nové mitshubishi, ešte cítim tú novotu všetko prebehlo rýchlo a bez problémov akurát keď sme ho vracali večer bola tam rada :) ale pohoda.. Easy to rent a car. They do not accept Revolut cards yet, but I didn't have problem with a classic debit card.
We didn't have any reservation and rented a Fiat 500 - sized car for €77 with an insurance for one day, which is not bad. In Europcar, which is one street next to it, wanted me to pay 200€ for one day rental.
The deposit was 300€

Tive um problema seríssimo com o atendimento da Sixt em lisboa. Ao devolver o carro, no Porto, tentei resolver com o supervisor que me disse que não podia fazer nada e que eu só podia mandar e-mail. Já mandei esse e-mail a vários dias e até hoje não tive um retorno por parte dessa empresa. Total falta de respeito com os clientes sem falar na má fé com que fomos atendidos no aeroporto de Lisboa pelo atendente da Sixt.
Estou até agora esperando um contato da empresa de vocês. Pelo visto terei que recorrer a meios jurídicos para resolver isso.

Os funcionários eram atenciosos porém a empresa é desorganizada. Agendei entrega para um local q não havia mais espaço para outros carros e tive que devolver em outra unidade, bem como esperei mais de quarenta minutos para fazer a devolução pois só tinha um funcionário atendendo no balcão.

2 napra béreltünk autót. Az autóbérlés kb. 15 percet vesz igénybe, ingyen volt a 2. sofőr beregisztrálása. Lehet kérni, olyan csomagot, hogy minden autópályán lehessen vele menni. A tele tankot ki kell előre fizetni, ezáltal nem kell visszatankolni az elhasznált benzint. Az autó visszaadása is kb. 15 percet vesz igénybe. A kauciót és az esetlegesen fenn maradó benzin költséget 3 napon belül visszautalták.

Категорически не рекомендую! Был первый и ПОСЛЕДНИЙ раз когда я в этой компании брал авто. На сайте цена была 660€ по приезду в Португалию г. Лиссабон 837€, ещё сняли 550€ франшизу. В итоге при сдаче машины сказали, что в багажнике нет полочки, хотя её и не было. За полочку хотят снять 385€. Отстойная компания, которая не заботится о своих потенциальных клиентах!!!

Service seemed really good and staff was nice. Until we got the bill. We were charged 63 Euros for gas even though we returned the car full at the end of the day.
Complete scam from the rental agent that told us that we only had to pay for gas if we returned it empty. Suddenly our 30 Euro booking turned into 120 Euro (with tolls etc.)

Много лет бронирую авто в SIXT, доволен был всегда. Но не в Португалии. Почитайте другие отзывы - клиентов намеренно обманываю! Вместо забронированного небольшого кроссовера мне безальтернативно сделали апгрейд и дали bmw 3 серии. Плохо помытую и в темном паркинге. А при сдаче авто в Лиссабоне осматривали с фонарями и нашли царапину еле видную на заднем крыле, за которую 500 евро списывают! При этом царапина точно не моя. Это намеренный развод тех, кто отказался от навязывания страхового покрытия.
На запросы в поддержку SIXT Португалия вообще не реагирует. НЕ ПОЛЬЗУЙТЕСЬ их услугами в Португалии, наверное, это франшиза.

Já aluguei na sixt em diversos países, e no dia que fui retirar os veículo reservado a empresa estava com problemas no sistema de cartão, apesar do esforço da atendente em resolver o problema não foi possível alugar o carro depois de mais de duas horas de espera, fui na avis ao lado e aluguei normalmente em 05 minutos com o mesmo cartão que a sixt não aceitou. Fiquem atentos com os seguros que não são obrigatórios.

Hier Auto geliehen und in Faro Flughafen retourniert. Dabei wurden uns Schäden am Unterboden des Fahrzeugs in Rechnung gestellt. Die Schäden sind in einem Bereich, den wir nicht bei Übergabe nicht sehen konnten. Obwohl ich widersprochen habe, wurde auch direkt abgebucht. Absolut assoziales Verhalten von Sixt Portugal. Insbesondere dem "Car Condition" Team

I was told that my contract is included fuel and toll. However, they charge more from my credit card.
I sent the mail to ask they confirm and got refund after they confirmed. However, 10days later, they send another bill to charge toll.
I have no idea how Sixt charge, but I will not use Sixt again in future.
By the way, suggest to buy full insurance if you rent their car. I saw they very picky to check the car from other’s car, even use rule to check slightly scratch.

Drop off times were different from info in the app while booking. Too bad when one planned the day with 24h drop off. Anyway, even though it is not so tragic, the ordered car was not available. Not really sure why app is not up to date with actual vehicle offers. Everything else was nice, staff was nice, no problems, damages or similar.

Hi!
First of all, let's make it clear we rented a car only for one day! (R. Andrade Corvo 31) . After a read the lots of bad comment of the company, I did not took the risk, so I took the full insurance. It means I took the LDW(highes opt) but my financial responsibility is 0 (zero) :) At the pick up day I asked them for the tire and windscreen protection too. It was my best decision ever. After a day trip (Nacional da Pena, Cabo da Roca, Cascais) nothing happend, but on the airport where left the car I discovered an injury on the windscreen.It wasn't me , so I think they gave me with this condition. It was a happy ending , thanks for the plus insurance. Any way the renting coast for me a 49Euro with all the insurances! I think it worth it. Always check the car carefully ,at the pick up. Take care!

Vreselijk!! Tien dagen vakantie gaf vervolgens drie weken e-mail-verkeer met Sixt. Volledige dekking? Niet dus! Bij het ophalen van de auto meerdere malen gevraagd de auto samen te checken wat volgens de verhuurder niet nodig was aangezien we volledige dekking hadden. Ook hebben we aangegeven dat er een bobbel in de band zat. Achteraf kregen we een rekening van €305,- omdat diezelfde band vervangen moest worden. Till last vacation I was quite pleased with Sixt's service so far. I have hired a car from them several times and it was always a pleasant experience.
But in the past vacation (sept 2019) the employee "Joana" from this Sixt branch kind of scammed me into upgrading my car to a bigger one. She told me that it is not allowed to have suitcases on the backseats (they must be in the trunk), otherwise the police will hand me a big fine (300 €).
But in the course of the remaining vacation I asked several portugese people about this and they have never heard of this "law".
So watch out when dealing with this agency! For future hirings I will go with one of their competitors.

Save yourself from these SCAMMERS!!!
I wish I had done research SIXT before renting from them, as they are known to be scammers & treat their Customers terrible. This was the worst Car rental company I've ever used, & some of the worst Customer service I've ever experienced. They may appear to have the cheapest rates when you go to book, but their people are paid to find ways to charge you more.
We rented a car in Lisbon to drive to the Algarve. We waited for someone to help us for 30 mins even though there was one Customer & 2 counters. They just ignored us the whole time. The one guy even went to take a cigarette break & then came back & said his shift was over.
When we finally got to talk to someone to pickup our car, he just kept adding on the additional charges, for navigation, extra driver, trying to get us to pay for a full tank when we would only use 1/2, the €500 hold on your CC for damages... I had a bad feeling that they would try to charge us at the end, so we took a detailed video.
When we brought the car back in the same exact shape we received it in, they tried to find the smallest scratch that wasn't on the damage report. I said we had a video & that we didn't do that, but that did no good since their people are obviously paid to do this.
Sure enough we received an email for damages being charged to the car of €500 + €35 damage processing fee!!! They also sent a picture of a dash with an engine light on, which was not from the car we returned!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

This company is deceiving. I rented a car online. When arriving, the car was not as large as they said it would be. They said I had to take insurance (something not disclosed beforehand). The day before they said that there were car seats available and that I could pick one up on the day of my rental. When I arrived, the agent said that she would go get one. She came back and said that they didn't have one for an infant. She said I could cancel my reservation but that I would need to contact Customer Service. You are forced to deal with Customer Service in country, not in the US in your language and with different customer service levels. They end the end said that they would still charge me for the rental I never picked up.
Simply, I couldn't rent something that I could not drive with a 2 year old child. I wasn't going to be forced to take insurance that I didn't need, etc.
The customer service is horrible. I will never rent here again and I highly recommend that everyone look at the other companies. You get what you pay for.

Total chaos when returning our car. The return area is an extremely tight lane in the city centre with lots of parked cars and vans hindering the entrance. There is only enough space to return two cars at a time meaning we had to wait on the very congested road. The staff didn't seem to care that we had no choice but to cause a traffic jam with people's horns blaring at us. The staff were using the return lane to exit vehicles further inhibiting our ability to return the car. A very badly thought out system where the customer and the public take the all the inconvenience. This experience was very stressful and frustrating. If I could rate this Sixt office as less than zero I would. In the name of balance and fairness I thought the Sixt office at Faro Airport where we hired the car was very good.

Thanks to George for pointing out the nearest garage was 7 minutes away to save us the fillip charge but forgetting it was rush hour. We eventually got back 3/4 hour later even with GPS!!!

Be very careful as this company will try to rip you off! Take photos at check-in as you will need them as proof of evidence when they charge you for damage that had been present before you rented a car.
I got charged over 70 EUR for the fuel even though I returned the car with the full tank in accordance with the agreement. I had to complain, they fortunately apologized and promised to return money back (no luck so far after a week).
Then they charged me over 300 EUR for preexisting damage (missing patch on tire). I provided photo of 3 SIXT employees in Lisboa examining the damage, but this time they do not communicate or reply to my complain.
EDIT: after a month they did reply, ignoring photo documentation and charged me! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Wybieram zawsze Sixt,ale nigdy nie spotkałem takiego aroganckiego pracownika.Po wejściu siedzi pierwszy od lewej.Wydano samochód bez płynu do spryskiwacza.Potraktowany zostałem jak pies.Przyszedłem kilka minut po 16 i gdy wystapiły problemy Pan kazał czekać do 17,bo od tej godziny zaczyna się wynajem.Pomimo tego,że nie było klientów.Nawet na powitanie zero zainteresowania uścisku dłoniu,uśmiechu.Porto,Faro przemili pomocni ludzie witają cię abyś czuł się dobrze,a tu dno i metr mułu.Jedyny rodzynek w cieście to młoda Pani w białej koszuli pochodząca z Luksemburga.Miła pomocna i kompetentna.Dziękuję jej w tym miejscu za pomoc.Odradzam to miejsce każdemu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We rent a car in Lisboa, the one on Andrade Corvo. We were first amazed with how slow they where to process a single client. We had everything ready before arriving there. We have waited 1h45 minutes (only 2 clients before us). The employee where very unfriendly (just trying to sell you extra with a bored attitude). It was such a contrast with all the nice people from Lisboa
Anyway they charged us many unexplained extra fees (and never answered our request for explanation).
This was not only our worst car renting experience ever, but also one of our top 5 worst any business experience ever.

I booked a car for two days, but was charged for three days. I returned it 30 minutes after the 48 hour (2 days) passed from stamp-date of renting.
They made me pay insurance and full day rental for a full day which is sitting in their garage, or even being rented out.
Have sent emails to their customer support, but no answer!
Unfortunate for Sixt to have such a bad team in Portugal.

Once again, the previous reviews had me a little bit worried. After reading some of the reviews I began to wonder if I had chosen the right hire company for our holiday in Portugal. Apart from a 45 minute wait when I collected the vehicle (computer system problems), it was a pleasure to deal with this particular branch of Sixt. The staff were friendly and professional. The vehicle was brand new and very clean. The price was very competitive. Returning the car was just as painless. I would definitely recommend them and will use them, again, next time I am in Lisbon.

Dopo anni e anni che utilizzo la mia carta di credito senza alcun problema, "casualmente" in questa filiale non veniva riconosciuta. Sono stato obbligato ad utilizzare la carta di credito della mia compagna e costretto ad aggiungere lei come secondo conducente (per 80 euro in più), altrimenti non avrei potuto noleggiare l'auto (già prenotata e pagata in anticipo attraverso il sito web).
L'operatore estremamente arrogante e presuntuoso; parlava un pessimo inglese e quando gli chiedevo di ripetere sbuffava impazientito.
Morale della favola, ore di attesa, spese extra (truffaldine), contratti poco chiari. SCONSIGLIATISSIMO

Wir haben uns in Faro am Flughafen ein Auto gemietet und in Lissabon in der Innenstadt wieder abgegeben.
Wir haben direkt über Sixt gebucht, uns wurden keine zusätzlichen Versicherungen angedreht oder ähnliches.
An beiden Standorten gab es keinerlei Grund zur Beschwerde. Etwas Wartezeit gehört dazu, war aber auch nicht sehr lange. Wir werden wieder über Sixt buchen. Die Kosten sind etwas höher als über Vergleichsportale oder bei anderen Anbietern, aber so gibt es keine Scherereien.

Wir haben dort unseren Mietwagen abgegeben, den wir 6 Tage zuvor in Porto abgeholt hatten.
Der Mitarbeiter für die Rückgabe war total nett und inspizierte kurz das Auto vor der Vermietstation. Kurz auf dem smartphone eine Unterschrift von beiden Seiten, dass keine Schäden dran sind und alles okay ist. Und schon hatte ich das unterschriebene pdf in meinem Email Postfach als Bestätigung für die ordnungsgemäße Rückgabe des Autos...
Wir waren in 5 Minuten fertig ! Wirklich genial!
Ich kann hier nichts negatives über die Station sagen... Meine Erfahrung war durchweg positiv!

Pas eu de problème mais il faut être patient. Réception du véhicule très longue.
Sinon personnel très aimable qui détaille correctement les frais et autres avant remise des clefs. Pas vraiment de surprise, sauf pour les frais de péages automatiques dont une partie continuera à être débité quelques jours après avoir rendu le véhicule. Nous ne pensions plus avoir de frais, une fois les clefs rendues (frais qui correspondent toutefois à notre utilisation réelle, ma note n'en tient donc pas rigueur).

Die Abholung des Autos verlief problemlos, die bestellte Wagenklasse war nicht mehr verfügbar, sodass wir ein kostenloses Upgrade erhielten. Das Auto war in einem guten Zustand, wenn auch wenig ausgestattet. Auf zwei Kratzer wurden wir hingewiesen und diese direkt vermerkt. Die Begehung des Autos fand allerdings in der wenig belichteten Garagenausfahrt der Station statt. Erst beim herausfahren fielen weitere grobe Mängel auf die auf unseren Wunsch ebenfalls vermerkt wurden. Das Auto also unbedingt bei Tageslicht ansehen!
Für uns allerdings völlig inakzeptabel: der Mitarbeiter erzählte uns, dass rund um unsere Rückgabestation keine Tankstelle zu finden und die Bezinpreise sehr hoch seien. Jedoch stellten wir schnell fest, dass sich in in naher Umgebung der Station verschiedene Tankstellen und zu ähnlichen Preisen finden ließen.
Fazit: Mindestanforderungen erfüllt - jedoch Vorsicht vor Unehrlichkeit.

Absolutely the worst car rental company I have tried in my life. Took me and my friends 3 hours to get the car. You get a queue number and there is no good place to sit either as you have to wait there until they call you out. The communication is difficult and it feels like they wasn't even bothered that we had to wait that long and would try to work faster.
Not reccommended, keep out. Pick Hertz or something safe.

Service was pretty slow and seats few, but the most disturbing characteristic was the discovery that, as there are not gasoline stations in Lisbon, even if you return the car refilled at the nearest station, you have to pay, at least 30€ (... or 70€ without refilling, that is the wiser choice).

I booked in advance a car in this office. and then I was a bit scared of rating and negative reviews here. After all, my experience is strongly positive. I booked a Audi A1 (EXMR) for one week (the end of April) for like ~160euros. Stuff was friendly, they didn’t try sell me insurance aggressively, they informed me for what in which cases I’m responsible. The only thing, they suggested me to purchase full-empty tank policy for 75 euro, which sounds ok (petrol price is 1.65, tank is 45 liters). Car was nice and powerful enough for Portuguese roads. In the end no any hidden insurances appears, no hidden costs, everything was transparent, clear and fare.

Haben das Auto bereits aus Deutschland gebucht und müssen trotzdem ewig warten bis wir einmal beim Service-Schalter bedient werden. Pro Autovermietung benötigen die Mitarbeiter 20-30 Minuten. Dementsprechend bildet sich natürlich auch eine ewige Schlange.
Dann doch lieber zu avis, wo wir bisher noch nie Probleme hatten.

Sehr lange Wartezeit. Das Auto in unserer Kategorie war dann auch nicht verfügbar. Es wurde ein Auto erst irgendwo hergebracht. Alles in allem waren wir fast eine Stunde da. Hierfür gab es noch nicht mal ein Upgrade. Kaffee konnte sich in der Wartezeit für einen Euro gekauft werden.
Aber die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.

Je déconseille fortement. J arrive à l agence à 8h00 précise pour récupérer la voiture que j ai réservé sur internet. En rentrant aucune des personnes présentes de me dis bonjour. on m indique seulement en Anglais d attendre l ouverture à 8h00 dehors! Assez inadmissible ! Je lui îndique qu il est l heure.
Ne parle que anglais avec un accent portugais. Incompréhensible pour moi. 1/2 heure pour récupérer la voiture en voulant me vendre des options que je refuse. Mon n° de carte bleu utilisé pour le paiement étant un n° temporaire pour internet on me demande de me re débiter le montant de la location car le n° de carte pour l empreinte de la caution doit être soit disant le même que celui du paiement.
Au retour la voiture est rendu en parfait état mais la facture est passé de 55 à 109 € car des options bris de glace et assurance supplémentaire avaient été bien ajoutées par l hôtesse. J appelle cela de la vente forcée et je compte bien à mon retour contacter le service réclamation.

I'll start by saying I'm Portuguese living abroad and I'll often travel back to Portugal to visit my family. On the 12th of November of 2017 I bought a voucher online for a car rental for 12 days.
On the 15th of January, after arrival we made our way to the Sixt desk and were greeted by one of their staff which asked us if we wanted to upgrade. We said NO. Staff did not asked any further questions, did not offer us any additional insurance or cover and did not explain anything related to the things stated before.
We were naive. We just assumed they were a good company. BIG MISTAKE. After everything seemed to be done with and paid for we got an invoice and automatic charge on our account of 420 pounds!!!!!
For what you ask.
So it seems like the Sixt staff that seemed so helpful at the Lisbon Airport Desk forgot to tell us that they decided to add to our contract “Super Top Cover LDW” and “Tire & Glass Protection” without our consent!
Beware of the digital signature before you sign your contract!!!!
WE NEVER ASKED FOR IT. THEY NEVER OFFER IT. WE NEVER AGREED TO IT. There was no verbal offer, explanation or permission from our part to upgrade. They just added it to our contract without even mentioning it.
Of course I tried to call them. To which they said send an email to the customer service. Email was sent on the 5th of February with NO ANSWER.
So please, do yourself a favor. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THEM. They will hide charges, lie and do anything in their power to wipe you clean. And it seems you can't even do anything about it.
I just find it disgraceful that they can do this to customers, still be in business and that there are no laws to protect us. THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN BE A COMPANY.

Vorgemerkt zur Nebensaison hier. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich (!!) gewesen und lässt sich viel Zeit um einem alles zu erklären (daher ggf. die längere Wartezeit). Die Übergabe verlief perfekt, es wurde einem nicht versucht irgendetwas unsinniges zu verkaufen und das Auto war der Hammer (nagelneuer 1er BMW!)... Die Rückgabe verlief ebenso reibungslos und schnell. Insgesamt war alles in bester Ordnung. Gerne wieder!

The car was checked for defects in my presence and existing defects were noted in the contract. Be aware that they will sell you all sorts of (un)necessary insurance and choose wisely. Car worked fine for the rental period and return went smoothly. Proper cleaning of the car before return was not necessary, I just shook off the dirt in the foot mats.
Deposit for my small car was 300€.

Zunächst das Positive: Die Mitarbeiter sind überwiegend zuvorkommend und freundlich und die Fahrzeuge sind in einem sehr guten Zustand. Jedoch sollte man genügend Zeit mitbringen, sowohl was die Abholung als auch was die Rückgabe des Autos betrifft. Allen Ernstes muss man hier eine Wartenummer ziehen für beide Vorgänge! Und noch etwas ganz Wichtiges: Im Internet steht, dass eine Fahrzeugrückgabe rund um die Uhr möglich sei: DAS IST FALSCH! Der Laden schließt definitiv um 19 Uhr und man kann weder das Autor irgendwo parken noch gibt es einen Schlüsselsafe oder Ähnliches. Also Vorsicht!

Fui bem atendido na agencia. O valor da reserva foi exatamente igual ao cobrado ao final do aluguel. Algo raro neste mercado. Gostei da sixt!

EVITE LOCAR CARRO DESSA GENTE !!!
Quando li algumas avaliaçoes sobre esses desonestos achei que fosse um certo exagero, Engano meu. TUDO VERDADE. Sao ladroes , enganam seus clientes com danos ocultos que nao verificamos na entrega do veiculo e que apenas aparecem na vistoria final. No meu caso, uma pequena peça de plastico com um cordao que suporta a tampa do porta-malas estava apenas encaixada, nada percebi. Quando da entrega do veiculo, o rapaz puxou a pecinha e verificou que estava quebrada. Total do concerto dessa argolinha de plastico foi de mais de 300 EUROS !!!
Fuja dessa gente emquanto eh tempo !!!! Vao te enganar como fizeram comigo e com outros clientes e assim o fazem diariamente. O incrivel eh que as autoridades de Portugal nada fazem para coibir essa exploraçao.

A tous mes amis français et les autres!!! J'ai loué 3 jours un véhicule chez Sixt Avenue de la libertad à Lisbonne. 1 heure pour récupérer un véhicule qui n'était pas celui que nous avions booké en ligne. J'ai fait A/R Méco, à 40 km de Lisonne. Suis arrivé 40 minutes en retard pour le check out et me suis fait charger une journée supplémentaire!!! Conclusion: 1 heure d'attente au check-in, pas réceptionné le véhicule loué en ligne, chargé une journée de plus, acceuil douteux et service commercial absent.....vous savez ce qu'il vous reste à faire!!!!! Bye bye SIXT !!!

Cuidado aluguei o carro pela decolar..paguei 900 reais pensando que estava tudo resolvido..ao chegar vi que as coberturas por seguro exigiam uma franquia de 2100 euros..pra não esquentar a cabeça paguei cerca de 250 euros para me livrar da franquia em caso de sinistro...em relação ao carro e os serviços não tive problemas...

I have arrived in time to pick up the car but I had to wait quite long time even though there was just a couple of other customers in front of me. Only one desk was open, but there were several Sixt workers just walking around. The lady serving me was polite and friendly but other staff did not seem to be very motivated.

i have RENTED thousands of cars for 45 years around world . i travelled for my work. I have NEVER before been told i have to pay 50 euros for extra cleaning on front passenger seat. my dog got in the seat so there were some hairs. 1 euro vacuum cleaner could fix it. its 1st and last time i will ever use this disgusting company. my total rental for 3 days was 25 euro, so they had to squeeze more money out of me somehow. So they made me pay 50 euro extra cleaning for front seat. disgusting company. they should be avoided. rude and unfriendly staff also.

Aluguel descomplicado, ofereceram os seguros e serviços extras, não aceitei e não insistiram, reservei um A1 e me entregaram um A3 a Diesel, na devolução olharam todos os defeitos já existentes e não acharam ou inventaram mais nada, ótima locação.

Wir haben einen Kleinwagen gebucht mit 4Sitzen. Angeblich stand aber nur ein Smart for two bereit. Somit Mehrkosten für einen größeren Wagen. Nachträglich heißt es bei Reklamation des Reiseveranstalters das dort keine Smart verliehen werden. Bilden sie sich darüber ihre eigene Meinung. Passen sie daher auf und lassen sie sich nicht über den tisch ziehen.

Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich, die Autos gut. Aber: zur Abholung morgens viel Zeit mitbringen. Hier wartet man morgens immer 1 Stunde! Es sind nie mehr als 2 Schalter geöffnet. Pro Kunde braucht man mind. 20-30 Minuten, da scheinbar größere Beratungen statt finden. Als Kunde mit Reservierung muss man sich trotzdem in die Schlange einreihen.
Ticket ziehen nicht vergessen! Der Automat steht versteckt in der Ecke.

Auch wenn es "nur" eine Franchise Filiale ist, konnte ich keinen Unterschied zu einer deutschen Filiale feststellen. Das Personal sprach sehr gutes Englisch und der Wagen war sofort bereit, frisch gereinigt und hatte wenige Kilometer runter. Da die Rückgabe innerhalb der ÖZ stattfinden muss, haben wir dies noch am selben Tag getan. Auch hier war der Servicegedanke, typisch für Sixt, ganz oben. Volle 5 Sterne für eine super Filiale mit nettem Personal.

Wir waren pünktlich zum vereinbarten Zeitpunkt vor Ort. Leider ist der Service dort sehr ineffizient. So mussten wir eine Stunde warten, nur weil ein paar Kunden vor uns waren. Da die Abholzeit ja kommuniziert wurde, hätte man sich besser darauf vorbereiten können. Zudem haben wir den abgelegenen Ticketautomaten nicht gleich gesehen, wodurch wir noch weiter nach hinten gereiht wurden. Daher unsere Tipps: Fahrzeug ganz in der Früh oder nachmittags abholen und Ticket ziehen nicht vergessen! Das Auto an sich war top, neuwertig und gut ausgestattet.

Really bad experience! The service is really slow, they can only serve 1 customer per hour and we had to wait for 2h30 to get a car. We also had to pay extra fee not written on the website. This is the last time we book with sixt.

Bad Sixt station, no service for status customers, had to wait ages, staff clueless. Could not find a confirmed reservation for 10+ minutes - after 40 min waiting time. And bad English. Maybe Sixt should put a warning on their website. Why do I pay full fees here?!

plenty of cars available on the website. so i went there and queued for 45min (i was next in line). got called, asked if i could get a car. employee responded, sorry i cannot do this and disappeared for another 10min. finally a different person showed up and told me there are no cars available.

Будьте готовы к длинной очереди и приходите пораньше. Машину бронировали и оплачивали заранее через интернет. При чем оплачивали одной картой, а депозит взимали с другой. роблем с этим не было, как они пишут, но нужен владелец самой карты на месте. Машину брали в Лиссабоне и сдавали в среду в Порту. Все машины, что мы видели новые в отлчном состоянии. Нам досталась Renault Clio с пробегом около 4000 км. Единтсвенное мощности иногда не хватало на Синтровские холмы. Деньги за депозит вернули на следующей недели в понедельник.

I will be honestly. It's my first experience with the rented car.
I can say that you need to be ready that the company will take 300 EUR like hold operation to guarantee back your car and about 600 EUR hold operation to insurance. In other respects all was fine. I can recommend this company.

The staff were friendly and helpful. While we had a bit of a wait picking up the car, this was largely because of the customer before us. Our brand new car was exactly what we ordered, and no one tried to upsell us with unnecessary extra insurance or accessories. We got some information about toll routes that proved very useful as well. Getting the car out of Lisbon was amazingly easy, although getting it back required a steady person on our phone's GPS. Returning the car was quick and efficient, once again with friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Extremely unfriendly and not handled according to online booking. Additional costs that had to be paid and were not agreed upon in the online booking portal! Very bad experience especially if you are happy to be on vacation, this experience may ruin your day!

Absolutely avoid Sixt.
Even though the car and people working at the reception are nice, they are absolute thieves, as many others stated here already. They tried to charge me for damage that was detected before my rental!! Unbelievable! They charged an extra 1200€ from my credit card and are now refusing to pay it back! People from customer support are a disgrace, very arrogant and unpleasant. I will never use Sixt again.

Was invenienced over time of return as we booked until 9pm but had to return esrlier, they (upgraded) me to a renault clio over a volkeswagon Up, (ill leave that one for you to workout) as a complimentary gesture

Ho noleggiato un auto il 15/2 tramite il sito d Ryanair, lo avevo prenotato con ritiro presso l'aeroporto di Lisbona ma una volta arrivato presso l'albergo mi sono reso conto che l'agenzia in città era molto + vicina. Gli addetti presso la filiale dell'aeroporto non parlavano italiano ma sono stati gentilissimi e cordiali mentre presso la filiale cittadina un'assistente parlava correttamente la mia lingua. Auto perfetta e servizio da 10 e lode. X ora non ho avuto sorprese sulla carta di credito vedremo in seguito. Un consiglio per tutti, acquistate l'assicurazione tramite il sito di Ryanair é molto + conveniente AAAA+

I was disappointed with the employees who didn't care about my needs as customer. I wasn't asked what kind of car I needed nor if I wished any other specifications as navigation system, extra-whatever-insurance, etc. Finally I got a small car which was alright (I don't know about the prices but I think it was not really good value - paid 40€ for 24h). At first the lady behind the desk wanted me to pay 85€ until I had to tell that there had to be something wrong with the booking. Finally she booked half the price and told me it was a "bug" in the software... And when I tried to bring the car back it took aeons to get there because the Sixt office is located on a oneway street and the traffic was horrible - the last 500m took 30min. It was the pure chaos. When I arrived the first time someone blocked the only drive-in with another sixt car... My blood boiled.
I'd advise to look for another office.

Misschien wat duurder dan de "budget" verhuurders, maar bij dit filiaal van Sixt hebben wij op een prettige, vriendelijke en behulpzame manier een nette en schone auto gehuurd. We hebben het wel eens anders meegemaakt, stomme discussies over schade's, eigen risico, inzittende verzekering enzenz.
Al met al, zeer tevreden over (dit) filiaal van Sixt
