NEVER AGAIN!! I’ve rented from others at this airport over the years as I travel to Lisbon frequently. This was the first time renting with Hertz and I will never do so again. Argumentative staff, pushy upsell, unexplained charges, be weary that they will try to charge you a tank of gas even if you declined that option verbally. Never again with Hertz/Thrifty.

Just don't rent here. If you want to take a risk, believe what you see before you hand out your credit card and NEVER trust what they say. You will have long-lasting troublesome for a duplicated fee and additional charge here and there after your trip.

I had two rentals at Hertz and one at Thrifty (which is just a subsidiary from Hertz and even the same counter at LISBOA airport).
Each time the cars were not what I booked, "similar" means obviously just the external dimension and nothing else. Once I received an "upgrade", as the booked category was not available, and this caused nearly double the tolls, which is a remarkable amount on the Portuguese highways. Hertz agreed during negotiating this issue on the phone to take over the additional costs, but later nothing was true any more, it was suddenly even claimed, the upgrade would not have been an upgrade (the upgrade was a 4-wheel drive Jeep instead of a BMW1, which I indeed would have preferred), but the booked class, which is definitely not true and had also been confirmed on the phone to be an upgrade. The last car was extremely dirty, even with greasy windshield and instrument panel.
The complaint department was answering my complaint completely inapropriately with a standard letter.
This was my last booking at Hertz!

Total überlaufen - lange Wartezeit trotz Reservierung. Der administrative Vorgang dauert viel zu lange! Mindestens eine Stunde bis zur Fahrzeugübernahme einplanen. Rückgabe wäre problemlos, wenn die Einfahrt in das Parkhaus nicht durch Rückstau ebenfalls lange dauern würde. Habe noch keine Abrechnung erhalten - wird erst geprüft.

I just spend more than 3 h waiting in line for an already booked and paid car. Hertz needs to update their system! The employees need about 20 up to 30 min to serve a single costumer. Not their fault but I do not recommend this agency for business trips, lost the whole day here.

Hertz has charged extra costs for some point like damages on the front window of the car. The car was not chekced at pickup and instead some pictures were provided via email, which do not have enough resolution to check the damages and there is also no way to find out when the pictures were really taken. There is a strong competion for low rates in Lisbon and there is a risk that companies may try to make money in alternative ways. From what is possible to read below, this was not the first case in this agency.
The question is: why is it possible to call the Police when a person is caught in a supermarket with a chocolate in the pocket (public crime) and when a company takes a few hundred euro from the credit card of a client, without a convincing argument, this is simply considered a private issue between the company and the client??? The answer can only be one: The State is not protecting well-enough its citizens!

Attention grosse arnaque après avoir réservé et payé en ligne, au moment de récupérer la voiture ils veulent retirer 1500€ de caution comme par hasard ma cb business ne passe pas, ils veulent nous rajouter une assurance qui correspond au montant de la location sachant que la caution ne changeait pas... Et le personnel vous rit au nez tout en vous faisant comprendre que vous avez payé dans le vent.

Leider auch mal wieder eine Station, bei der der schnelle Euro zählt. Man hat uns den Kauf des Tankinhalts untergejubelt, obwohl wir den Wagen nur einen Tag hatten. Da hätten wir locker 700 Kilometer fahren müssen, was wir natürlich nicht getan haben. Klar, wir haben es unterschrieben in einem Wirrwarr von Zahlen und Text, aber ist ja leider die systematische Absicht der Autovermieter. Und am Ende auch noch voll getankt. Hertz können die 60 Euro gerne im Hals stecken bleiben. Einen Kunden weniger haben sie jedenfalls.

Nous avions réservé un véhicule pour lequel nous devions payer 640 euros environ. Une fois sur place on nous demande une caution de 2200 euros. La carte bleue ne passe pas, seule solution pour récupérer le véhicule payer une assurance de rachat de Franchise à 13,50 par jour. La facture s'élève à près de 1000 euros. Lorsque vous rendez le véhicule on ne vous remet aucun papier et on n'effectue aucune vérification. J'attends avec appréhension de voir la somme qui sera débitée sur mon compte.

Per una utilitaria mi hanno BLOCCATO 1700 EURO SULLA CARTA DI CREDITO. Non hanno detto niente al momento della prenotaziine. Mi hanno incasinato le vacanze perche ogni giorno dovevo stare attento alle spese con la carta... Ho reso la macchina da 3 gg e l'importo è ancora bloccato.. Vergogna!!!

待たせすぎ。すでに予約が完了し、これ以上の説明も必要ないと確認済みであるにもかかわらず、60分以上も待たされた。鍵を受け取った時には、すでに予定を30分も過ぎていた。
どうやら、窓口のスタッフにはアップグレードのオファーが義務付けられているようだ。そのため、一件ごとの対応に時間を要し過ぎている。私の時も、明らかに私が待たされ過ぎて不機嫌であるにもかかわらず、車種のアップグレードとオプションの追加を何度もオファーしてきた。

We had a terrible experience getting the car - first the wait was more than an hour, then Hertz wanted to block a ludicrous 2000 € on my credit card, which at that point in the holidays exceeded the limit. They flatly refused to accept my wife’s credit card instead (same last name and same accout!) for no comprehensible reason. Cannot recommend and will never rent from them again.

For the waiting time and customer friendlyness Hertz earns a red flag and a below zero score. They treat their customers different depending on the type of brand they rented. Our waiting time exceeded the 2 tours without appologies, which to my opinion is a contempt to the customer. One positive point: the supplied car was ok.

We were forced to book by Hertz over our travel agency. We arrived a day later, because we missed our flight the day before. The friendly but rather uninterested lady at the station first refused to give us the car we already paid for, but in the end gave us a similar car.
The car was ok, but how on earth are you supposed to clean the front windshield with only water? There was no cleaning ingredient whatsoever in the tank.
The lady at the station also said, by the way, returning the car could take up to max 1 hour. No wonder, when every rental car agency is located in the same parking building and everybody has to get in there.
But getting the car and giving it back (when you got into the parking building) was rather quickly, thats good at least. Prices are ok I guess I do not know prices from other agencies.

WORST rental car company EVER!!!!!! We booked a car in Hertz in Lisbon aerport 3 months in advanced but when we had to wait there for 3h for the check-in , there was a very long queue and the staff were quite inefficient.

eles fazem cobrança indevida no seu cartão se você fecha a diária por 30 euros no final você paga 80 euros , eles bloqueiam valores exorbitantes no seu cartão para vocês terem noção ela para pagar entorno de 1300 euros e no meu cartão foram descontado 4500 euros. liguei para reclamar so podem resolver através de email, e sendo que para responder o seu email é no mínimo 15 dias. mas a fatura do cartão chaga ta e você tem que pagar !!!!! O carro alugado era novo com bateria danificada eu tive que trocar o carro no meio da viagem porque a bateria morreu. Os funcionários são despreparados lerdos sem informação e quando eu troquei o carro o via verde estava desativado.
quando o meu marido entregou o carro não teve nenhum comprovante você não assina e nem recebe NADA o rapaz nem viu a gasolina e falou que mandaria a conta por email . e o email nunca chegou!!!! olha não sei como são as outras mas essa aqui é roubada!!!

Hertz agents in Faro pushed for a more expensive car claiming it was on discount but informed us the DIFFERENCE of the price between our reserved car and the price of the car we had reserved. They clearly mislead the customer by not informing the full price right from the very beginning. This seems to be a common practice for them as there were 2 other customers also complaining about the same issue.

Hertz Lisbon Airport— Beware! We had an upcharge of $500 at the last minute because we needed standard racks (not specialty) for a surfboard and then they had the nerve to stick us with an extra $40 cleaning fee because the inside of our car had some sand (not much at all) in it. This place is terrible.

I can see how you can easily have a very good or very bad experience at this location. Check in was great for the most part, the employee was very helpful and friendly the only issue I had here was trying to match up the charges with those on my reservation and the fact that they would have sold me navigation in a car that was equipped with one from the factory. One item to note, they only show you pictures of the car on an iPad, I would demand a walk around of the car with an employee before you leave. When I got upstairs I was handed keys and they pointed to the car, it was backed up inches from a bmw and the right side was tucked against the wall. I had to put my luggage in the car from the left rear door, pulled forward so my wife could get in and pulled off. The return process is where things fell apart. They pointed out damage that I certainly didn’t cause, I told them it had to have been there, they proceed to show me one picture of the car on an iPad, when we zoomed in we couldn’t see any detail, there was a mark on the right rear that looked to be in the same spot as one of the marks they were charging me for, they said it was a glare. I have attached a photo of the car taken after the charged me $428 euros. This was taken at the same angle of the iPad photo they showed me. You can’t see any damage. Don’t trust the photos they show you. The staff upstairs in returns is rude, not friendly, and have trouble communicating in languages other than Portuguese only after being questioned. I did fill out a survey that hertz sent me to see if they would be willing to rectify this but it has been a week with no response. I guess I should have forced a walk around of the car and questioned why it was parked where it was and why no one would even leave the booth to show me the car. I had valet parked the car so I never ended up on the right rear side where the small scratches and marks were. Now I am left with the hassle and paperwork of filing a claim with my credit card company.

Well after you have paid the price online for rent they ask you for 2500 Euro deposit or 30 eur per day insurance which is double of the price that you rent the car for online, thanks for nothing.

Reservei uma viatura para o dia 25 de janeiro, por 1 dia. No levantamento da viatura verifiquei que existiam mais anomalias (chapa e pneus) das que estavam assinaladas. Chamei a funcionária e disse-me que não haveria problemas visto serem pequenas marcas. No dia seguinte, entreguei a viatura pelas 05h40 e pelas 06h22 recebo um e-mail a informar que irão cobrar 145,76€ porque os 2 pneus da frente apresentavam-se rachados com um grau de severidade "superficial", sendo que esses danos eram os que foram informados à funcionária no levantamento da viatura.
Se realmente são danos que necessitem a substituição dos pneus, então a segurança dos meus filhos que se deslocaram na viatura, a minha segurança bem como dos outros utentes da via estiveram em risco.
É de lamentar esta situação perigosa pela falta de segurança a que eu e a minha família estivemos expostos.
De lamentar o apoio ao cliente que não respondem a e-mails.

I booked a car for the 25th of January, for 1 day. In the survey of the vehicle I noticed that there were more anomalies (body and tires) than those that were marked. I called the employee and told me that there would be no problems since they are small brands. The next day, I delivered the vehicle at 5:40 am and at 6:22 am I received an email saying that they will charge € 145.76 because the 2 front tires were cracked with a degree of "superficial" severity, and these damages were those that were informed to the employee in the survey of the vehicle.
If it really is damage that requires replacement of the tires, then the safety of my children who traveled in the vehicle, my safety as well as that of other road users were at risk.
This dangerous situation is to be regretted for the lack of security to which my family and I were exposed.

Got charged for the first tank of gasoline although I never accepted that option. They also put a car toll device for a truck and not a regular vehicle into the car, which means I paid double for the highway tolls. Their customer service is basically impossible to reach by phone. Never again.

Fiz a reserva pelo Holidaycars, tive problemas com a entrega de uma mercedes, onde ninguem foi me ajudar a mexer no carro, depois que pedi ajuda ao atendente nem ele sabia mexer na mercedes. Depois paguei um seguro que não me serviu para nada. Quebraram o vidro do carro em Porto e nem a Hertz nem a Holidaycars me ajudaram em nada. Bloquearam meu cartão, me cobraram o valor do vidro mesmo tendo pago o seguro, reclamei em varios canais de reclamação e até hoje não tenho o contrato, comprovante dos pagamentos, relatorio das avarias do carro. Simplesmente fizeram pouco caso. Melhor pagar mais e estar tranquilo, doque buscar um valor mais barato e ter dores de cabeça.

Voor vertrek heb ik ruimschoots de autoverhuurders bestudeerd op reviews en rating. Gezien de ervaringen redelijk overeen kwamen bij de diverse bedrijven, bij Hertz geboekt IVM een goede ervaring in Stockholm. Ook nog even gebeld betreffende de Super Cover, de prijs hiervan en wat hier allemaal onder viel. Alles werd mij verteld, met een eigen risico van €75,00. Echter bij aankomst vroeg ik alleen om de Super Cover toe te voegen, niets meer. Voordat ik moest tekenen nog even alles goed doorgenomen... Er stonden veel meer kosten op de rekening dan ik van tevoren had kunnen bedenken. Ramen en Banden verzekering, Premium plus verzekering voor in het geval dat ik van een brug af zou rijden...? Een volle tank...? Personal items insurance...? Had ik hierom gevraagd? Nee. Ze proberen je toch nog even op een vieze manier wat aan te smeren, zonder te overleggen gewoon op de rekening zetten. Nee sorry dit hoefde ik allemaal niet, toen werd je ook nog aangekeken door de medewerker alsof je gek was. Toch apart dat je van tevoren telefonisch contact opneemt met Hertz betreffende de dekking van de Super Cover, en bij aankomst blijken de ramen en banden hier weer niet onder te vallen. Erg verwarrend en daardoor haalde ik de auto op met een veel wantrouwen naar Hertz. Ik had me van tevoren lichtelijk voorbereid gezien de vele reviews, maar toch blijf ik dit schandalig vinden van een "professionele" wereldwijde autoverhuurder. Waar ik in Zweden verder keurig en eerlijk geholpen werd, zal dit wel de tactiek van de "zuidelijke" landen wezen. Verder was de auto prima, geen problemen mee gehad en inleveren ging ook heel vlotjes.

Our experience was relatively good - because of bad expectations, I would rate 4,but in reality it is a 3 due to some misunderstandings and wrong costs taken, plus slow response to e-mails . We received a good car, the return was smooth. Along the way we had some issues to raise regarding pricing of services and these were resolved correctly, even if we had to insist. The booking experience was fine.

Read the bad reviews but decided to rent with Hertz anyway - big mistake. Long story short, prepaid for a car that I never got. Reason for not giving me the rental car was because, "It is a bad card, we can't withdraw money from it".
Showed them that the money already had been taken from my account since it already had been paid, but there was nothing they could do, except offering me the same car for approximately 4x the price as I originally booked and payed it for. Funny enough they took the money from my account after all, (as I showed them) for a car that I never got.
Only got ~60% of the money back at first so I emailed them. No answers, so I ended up going back there myself 3 weeks later. A couple days after that the rest of the money was deposited into my account with no explanation.
Extremely bad service.
Europcar next door helped us out with a car that was even cheaper than the original booking I had at hertz, go there instead.

These people specialise in ruining the start to your holiday. 28 minutes per person to get a car that you have already entered your details for online. 6 minutes to then enter more into the computer after they have for their vehicle. 3 staff but 6 desks. It’s saturday, you knew this was going to happen. At this rate we calculate we will wait 2hours and 40 mins to get a car.
Lisbon airport car rental with hertz is a total joke. Avoid at the cost of sunning yourself and enjoying that hard earned weekend.

I arrived after an overnight flight with my 10 month old son who was tired, hungry and crying. The staff refused to give us the car we rented suggesting our luggage would not fit, despite the fact that we rented a car that would fit two suitcases (according to website). The staff insisted that we take an Alpha Romeo as it was the only car available. The result of the ordeal is that the price was double. They took advantage of me as my son was tired, hungry, crying and I had no choice but to accept the more expensive car. Do not rent from here

Aluguei um carro por três meses e nada correu bem , continuo a espera de uma resposta da hertz pois sinto que fui enganado, esperei 6 (seis horas) para me atenderem e no fim deram me um papel para ir buscar o carro com o meu nome,residencia e numero de cartão de credito, um mês mais tarde fui renovar o meu contrato e para surpresa minha foi o triplo do que eu reservei, continuo sem resposta e ja passaram uns meses

Frechheit! Hatten bereits eine bezahlte Reservierung für 14:00, nach 2,5h Wartezeit war noch lange kein Ende in Sicht.
Sind dann kurzerhand zu Sixt rüber, und konnten dank den dort kompetenten Mitarbeitern 20min später mit dem Auto losstarten.
Sixt ist zudem noch günstiger als Hertz (80€ für 5Tage).
Fatit: Hertz meiden, Reservierung stornieren und zu einem der anderen Anbieter gehen!

Trotz Reservierung haben wir über 3 Std. auf den Mietwagen gewartet. Es wird nicht unterschieden zwischen Reservierungen und Vor-Ort Anmietung. Darüber hinaus hatte der Mietwagen bei Übergabe Beschädigungen, die nicht im Vertrag vermerkt waren. Erst nach mehrfacher Aufforderung wurden die Schäden nachgetragen. Kein Aushängeschild für eine weltweite Autovermietung.

Staff are very friendly and patient. Answered all the questions we had with smile. We didn’t need to queue at the counter so it was great (all other counters have long queues). The only thing that can be improved is we waited for around 20 mins for our car as it was being washed. We got the car at the end and it’s nice and clean. Returning the car was fast and convenient.

We were offered a much smaller car of inferior category than the one we reserved with no refund of the difference in value and not the slightest effort to upgrade for free. The only alternative given was paying for an upgrade, so we took the lower/smaller car for one night and returned the next day when they finally had something on the category we paid for. There is no need to mention the inconvenience for a family of 4 with large suitcases and a road trip planned. No compensation was offered to encourage us to return, so we won’t.

Achtung!!! Mieten Sie dort nie Ihren Leihwagen. Wir haben 619,- Euro für 18 Tagen in der Hauptsaison unseren Kleinwagen über den Lufthansa -Flug gebucht. Und über 1000,- Euro sind es letztendlich geworden. So hat uns ein penetranter Angestellter eine Vericherung aufgeschwatzt, die wir nicht haben wollten. Höhepunkt war eine Strafe von 40 Euro für die Reinigung des Autos wegen Sand auf den Sitzen und Staub auf dem Auto. Zum Verhandeln war niemand bereit und bei der Hotline hat man uns nur vertröstet. Wir fühlen uns betrogen und hatten in unserem Urlaub oft schlechte Laune deshalb. Auch Kunden, die mit uns am Schalter den Wagen abgegeben haben , waren sehr unzufrieden. So haben wir mitbekommen , wie ein Kunde eine Stunde warten musste, da die Herz-Mitarbeiter alle Kratzer an seinem Leihwagen dokumentieren wollte, um sicher zu gehen, dass diese nicht von ihm waren. Er war sehr in Eile wegen seinem Fluges, aber man lies ihn nicht gehen.
So etwas ist uns noch nie passiert und wir haben schon häufig Leihwagen bei anderen Firmen gemietet und reisen viel.
Also vorsicht vor diesr Abzocke!
Watch out! Never rent your car there. We have booked 619, - Euro for 18 days in the season our small car together with the Lufthansa flight booking. And 1050, - Euro we finally had to pay. So a penetrating employee talk into taking us an insurance that we did not want to have. The highlight was a € 40 fine for cleaning the car because of sand on the seats and dust on the car. No one was willing to negotiate and the hotline only put us off. We feel cheated and often have a bad mood during our holiday. There were no margin.
Even customers who have left the car with us at the counter, were very dissatisfied. So we noticed how a customer had to wait an hour, because the herz -employee wanted to document all the scratches on his rental car, to make sure that they were not from him. He was in a hurry because of his flight, but the employee did not let him go.
This has never happened to us before, and we have often rented car hire from other companies and travel a lot.
So beware of this rip off!

Ich werde hier nie wieder mieten. Bei Ankunft standen ca. 40 Personen in der Warteschlange, und lediglich 2 Angestellte haben gearbeitet und ca. 10 Minuten pro Person benötigt. Warum reserviert man eigentlich elektronisch und muss dann nochmals seine Adresse und Email-Adresse aufschreiben? Und dann nochmal in einen Screen eintippen? Nachdem es fast eine Revolte der wartenden Kunden gab, hat ein Angestellter auch noch die Polizei gerufen. Sehr unprofessionell und Null Kundenorientierung. Ausserdem hat man uns angeblich ein Upgrade zu einem Kombi verkauft, um mehr Platz für die Koffer zu haben. Für 5 Euro Aufpreis pro Tag habe ich dann einen Jeep Renegade vorgefunden, der einem Mini-Kofferraum hatte. Die Rückgabe war einigermassen effizient.

To be honest. At first I was a bit scared because there were so many bad reviews. I can only talk about the car return. This was without any problems. Easy, fast and professional. The lady who took the car keys was friendly and had a smile on her face. So I can recommend this location - thumbs up

Achtung sehr unseriös uns wurde versucht eine defekte A Klasse unterzujubeln die Stossstange hing runter und der Mitarbeiter behauptete dass das kein Problem sei leider war dieses Fahrzeug so nicht Fahrtauglich auch der Seitenspoiler war beschädigt und Amateurhaft wieder angebracht worden. Als Alternative bot er uns Fahrzeuge aus kleineren Klassen an, natürlich für das gleiche Geld oder alternativ ein grösseres gegen 270 € Aupreis .Es standen ca. 10 Fahrzeuge der gleichen Kategorie dort ,frech behauptete er dass diese nur zum Verkauf seien obwohl alle ein Hertz Schild am Spiegel hatten.Da wir viel Gepäck hatten mussten wir den grösseren nehmen .Grinsend versbschiedeten Sie sich. Auf spätere Beschwerden wurde nicht reagiert. Unglaublich die Firma Hertz tut sich damit selbst kein Gefallen . So behandelt mann Kunden nur 1 mal . Laut der Rezessionen hier hat das ja System .

Dei 1 estrela para abrir o comentário. Que decepção!!! Que tragédia!!! Esses foram alguns dos sentimentos que sentimos por essa empresa em Lisboa. Acostumados aqui no Brasil com um ótimo trabalho da Localiza, fomos direto nela no aeroporto de Lisboa. Para resumir. Enquanto todas as locadoras cobram em média € 30,00 - 40,00 ela não tem vergonha em cobrar € 200,00 - 300,00 para carro popular (manual). Péssimo atendimento, te enfiam tudo quanto é taxa.a prova disse tudo é vc chegar na área de locação do aeroporto e somente a Hertz sem fila.

Terrible experience with Hertz. Was offered a much lower-class car(though they said it's in one category). Sorry, but Dacia and Jeep and different cars class and experience.
1) Pushy upsell, forced to take a Mercedes and you can't(!!) take a lower category car. So I had to pay almost double the price for the car I didn't even want.
2) Over 1600 EUR was blocked on my account and for over 2 weeks of my stay and returned with a delay which causes HUGE inconvenience when you are travelling with a family and kids. You should learn to warm customers in advance when you do this. Rented a number of time with Hertz in other countries and this NEVER happened.
Hertz? No thanks!

Very easy, no problems. I signed up for Hertz Gold before this trip, and wound up with a complimentary upgrade. Sweet! Only surprise was a dinged mirror where a previous driver had hit something. It was hard to spot, but my 14-year-old daughter spotted it and we declared it before driving off, so we didn't get billed for it. Quick process to document the damage with Hertz. Good clean car, satellite navigation a nice accessory. All in all, a very easy rental with no problems.

Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Personale super gentile e disponibile, informazioni precise e dettagliate. L'unica nota negativa è stata l'attesa al banco di noleggio, ma è comprensibile visto il grande afflusso di persone all'autonoleggio in aeroporto. Non a caso c'erano code in tutte le compagnie e l'attesa era pressoché la stessa. Il personale è stato a gentilissima disposizione per tutto il tempo dell'attesa.
Peccato per tutte queste recensioni negative, io voto 5 stelle e consiglio assolutamente!

So, unlike some reviewers on here I had a 5 star service. The rental of the toll system was explained (and that the tolls are different in different parts of Portugal - important as we were driving all over) and it was explained to me that the ACTUAL toll charges would be added to my bill when they were received. I can only assume some people don't actually listen or ask a question to clarify. The "petrol" refill option was at a very reasonable rate meaning I did not need to worry about filling it up and as I have the "full insurance" I did not need to worry about scratches and damage. Reception on arrival was great, the assistant really helpful and super efficient and not surly at all. I must have got a good one :) Car pick up was easy, quick and efficient and dropping it off was even easier. So overall, a 5 star rating for a 5 star service. Some people will always find a fault even with perfection - I booked the car as Hertz is a global brand but only then read the reviews on here and approach the rental with some trepidation as a result. All I can say is that I was delighted and my experience is so far away from other reviewers on here I am, wondering if we actually used the same rental office!

I rented from Hertz May 2018 from the Lisbon airport. The checkout and return process was quick and efficient. During my trip, I damaged two tires due to a jagged curb. Hertz sent a taxi and tow within one hour and helped me rent another vehicle. I declined the insurance but the cost of the tires, taxi and tow were very fair and reasonable. My credit card provided reimbursement through their insurance carrier. Great experience...I highly recommend Hertz.

HERTZ AEROPORTO LISBOA - DECEPÇÃO TOTAL!!!
Aluguei um carro, ainda no Brasil, para nossa viagem de 2 semanas entre Portugal e Espanha. Tive o cuidado de solicitar tudo possivel para não ter problemas na Locadora com os "extras" e escolhi um carro grande pois estávamos em 5 pessoas com muitas malas. A minha agência de viagens, depois de muita pesquisa alugou um Mercedes VITO na HERTZ. Bem, até ai tudo bem! Quando chegamos a HERTZ no aeroporto de LISBOA começou a confusão!! Fomos atendidos por ISABEL, preposta da HERTZ que, na maior CARA DE PAU, MALANDRA, tentou nos "enfiar" outros "EXTRAS". Começou tentando mudar nosso carro e acreditem, por um outro carro MENOR e MAIS CARO. Depois de muita insistência, acreditem se quiser, tivemos que convencer a ela que precisávamos de um carro do tamamho do VITO. Bem, a partir dai nos empurrou mais SEGURO e um valor de $106 euros pelo tanque cheio, sem perguntar se queríamos.
No final, depois de muita briga, de novo, acreditem se quiser, nos deu um VITO com a logomarca da HERTZ e a logomarca de uma EMPRESA DE EVENTOS!! Inacreditável!!! Para não parecer mentira minha, tirei uma foto do carro que ela nos "alugou" (anexa).
Paguei a diferença de $1.500 euros em espécie e esse valor também foi debitado no meu cartão, dizendo ela que será estornado depois, vamos ver.
ISABEL, vc não merece trabalhar numa empresa como a HERTZ. Para mim, ISABEL, vc DESTRUIU o nome e a imagem da HERTZ!!
Amigos do TRIP, se for à HERTZ do Aeroporto de LISBOA, corram léguas dessa tal de ISABEL. Se não, ela vai te enganar!!!

So0o0o Service at the rental location was pretty quick. As well as the return of the vehicle. The reason they are receiving a negative review is for the e-toll receiver. I was told at time of purchase that paying for this device enabled me to use Via Verde service at the tolls (drive through without paying) and that this one time payment at time of rental covered the toll charges throughout Portugal. So a purchased considering I planned on travelling throughout Portugal. This is NOT the case. In the fine print of your contract it states that you will be billed all charges for use of the toll roads in addition to the purchase of the e-toll receiver. This was not explained to me otherwise I certainly would not have purchased it. Cause, what the hell is the point? toll lines are not long and move quickly! Instead, a month after my return, my credit card is being billed. I emailed the hertz location as well as customer service for an explanation and essentially got the middle finger in return. I implore google users to switch to Hertz's competitors. One who is honest about how their 'upgrades' actually function and potential future fees...if there is such a thing. I certainly won't be using Hertz again.

Fui cobrado pela Firefly sem qualquer aviso prévio do custo de um "pneu" de 165€, um mês apos um aluguer efetuado com a referida empresa, apos vários emails contatos telefónicos solicitando provas para o debito do pneu (nomeadamente fotos fatura etc.) três meses apos aluguer enviaram um orçamento com a data do email (3 meses apos aluguer) e não do dia da entrega do veiculo, a empresa em causa não faz reparações automóveis e não é crível que fosse utilizada para a suposta reparação pois a sua sede situa-se a 90 km de Lisboa, assim se existiam duvidas na FRAUDE perpetrada pela Firefly as mesmas ficaram totalmente esclarecidas. Ate hoje não me foi apresentado qualquer prova da destruição do pneu nomeadamente fotos fatura etc., mesmo com insistências quase diárias.

I'm wondering why there are so many bad reviews! probably because no one takes the time when they had a nice experience to write about it. I found the service to be fantastic. I waited maybe a minute before being helped. I had registered for hertz gold (doesn't cost anything and there are benefits if you end up renting from
hertz at least once a year) ... so they upgraded me for free! I went from an economy (maybe Opel or Citroen) to a BMW ! that was perfect for all the curvy roads in Sintra and Colares west of Lisbon. When I returned they checked me in quickly and I was in my way in no time. All in all it was exemplary service. Thank you Hertz Lisbon!

When I arrived at the counter I was told that my car, which I reserved and pre-paid for, was not available. They suggested a different car and I was charged again. Additionally, I declined gps system more than once and was charged for that service. I tried to contact the Lisbon office to disbute the charges but could not reach anyone in that office. This Hertz Lisbon office seems to be professional at ripping its customers off as many seem to have the same complaint. There were several other hidden fees as well.

Péssimo serviço, além de cobrarem por serviços que já havia pago no Brasil, quando efetuei o aluguel do carro. Estou sendo cobrado quase R$ 2.000,00 a mais por um serviço que já paguei mais ou menos R$ 1.200,00 no Brasil..... Não recomendo! Aluguem carro na EUROPCAR, que é muito melhor, mas fora do Aeroporto.

We waited a long time on the queue to get a pre-ordered car,to find out
they didn't have the car in the class we booked, so a car from another class was handed out to me, and the charge me extra for this car.
This is a shame, because the car was booked 8 months beforehand.
Using car hire in this location for more than 20 years, paying very high prices i thought company will be better!!! disappointed with this company.

Reservamos um carro pela Internet e quando chegamos à loja para retirá-lo, nos informaram que aquele modelo não estaria disponível e tivemos que pagar por um modelo superior. Ainda na loja, percebemos que a empresa inclui na fatura do aluguel muitas taxas sem deixar claro a que se referem. Como se não bastasse, no mês seguinte, a empresa debitou no cartão de crédito outra taxa sem nem mesmo entrar em contato conosco.

Queiram fazer o favôr de desbloquear o montante de €1.611,00 sobre o meu cartão de crédito ùltimos quatro digitos: 3576, Código de autorização: 352599
Antes de ontem dia 16/08/2017 às 08:05 à entrega do vhéiculo o vosso empregado disse-me que levaria 48 horas para anular esta provisão.
Até agora nada de feito. Terei de continuar a não poder utilizar êste meu cartão de crédito? Até quando? E porquê esta
caução?
Acho que se caução é necessària deveria ser anulada imediatamente logo à entrega do vehiculo.
É a segunda vez que acontece qualquer coisa com a Hertz.
Não fui avisado desta pràtica, se não tivesse mais um outro cartão de crédito comigo, nem podia pagar a minha estadia no hotel.
Nunca mais HERTZ.

Agence incompétente ! Nous y sommes allez pour retirer un véhicule reservé en ligne... Reçue par des personnes qui me riaient au nez alors qu'il y avait un problème sur ma réservation en ligne. On me demande d'appeler le site pour faire une modification, le site me demande de passer le téléphone aux employés de l'agence... qui refusent ! Ils demandent à être appelés sur leurs numéros à eux... Énervés devant tant de mépris je préfère annuler ma réservation avec la personne au téléphone qui reste abasourdi par la réaction de ses " collègues" lisboètes. Ils se sont littéralement foutus de nous en rigolant entre collègues !!! Aucun respect !!

@adrian Me and my family rented a nissan quashquai for the holiday. The streets also broke the wheels as well as the rims. Also the Costs were explosiv and ruined our Holiday.
I will never book again with Hertz.
The insurance doesn't cover anything, but you need to deposit 3500€ without it. So that they can charge you highly anyways.

We rented an SUV for our 10 days trip to faro and back to lisbon.
We waited at least an hour until we received the car. Afterwards we had an accident because of the damaged streets of portugal (broken wheel).
Hertz hotline was very hard to reach at that time (03.08.17/19:00o'clock). They brought us to the store, where we have been told that accidents with wheels and windows are not included in the insurance, although we booked the most expensive insurance (fully comprehensive insurance). Hertz is not cooperative in this cases. Be aware that the hertz-insurance doesn't cover the most common troubles that can take place. Also the prices are very high compared to the competition ->also for the same car.

À fuir. L'employé n'a pas voulu nous accompagner à la voiture sur un parking de 200 places au milieu d'autres loueurs, sympa avec les valises et du coup pas possible de faire un contrôle.
En insistant il nous a clairement envoyé balader en disant que ce n'est pas son travail.
J'ai dû mettre le GPS en français, option que j'ai pourtant payé en sus. Ce n'est pas si évident de trouver le paramétrage en portugais.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Rezessionen haben wir gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Nach einem Motor schaden auf der Autobahn vor Lissabon wurden wir von einem Taxi zu einer anderen Mietwagen Station gebracht und ein Ersatzwagen wurde sofort zur Verfügung gestellt. Alles binnen einer Stunde und sehr unbürokratisch. Die zuständige Service Abteilung hat professionell und schnell reagiert.

La pire agence de location à la quelle j'ai eu à faire. Que des problèmes Acceuil déplorable. Sur facturation. Véhicule ne correspond pas à la catégorie annoncé. Caution bloqué durant des semaines. Véhicules sales. Triche sur les niveaux du carburant bref éviter cette agence si vous voulez être tranquille.

Terrible service. The employee pushed me to take extra services, which I didn't need. In the end, they told me that my credit card was not accepted for the amount needed (which could not be true, as I further confirmed once I had access to my bank account) and pushed me to get an insurance to decrease the amount of money "blocked" in my account. Not sure whether this was a bank issue or not, but I hardly believe it was my bank's problem. I would not recommend this place. Just in front you can find Budget, which is way more professional from my experience.

Terrible car rental place.
We rented a car for 9 days and ended up paying over $450 CAD in hidden fees (on top of a $400 car rental).
I would really recommend another place to rent a car from.
Terrible experience.
