We all enjoyed our stay at the hotel it is well appointed and in a lovely area. The staff are the biggest asset however as they are wonderful, efficient and friendly. I would recommend this hotel

Nach einer renovierung sehr modern und schön eingerichtet. Äusserst zuvorkommende freundliche mitarbeiter. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl hier. Vielen dank auch für die grosszügigen gutscheine zum essen im restaurant mit hervorragender küche.

It is a nice hotel that I used on my golf vacation. However, I was looking for something not so "high level" as I had focus on golf and not a big room.

We stayed for a golfing week over Christmas. Staff were excellent - friendly, efficient and helpful. Thank you! Hotel inside looks and feels like a five star in the renovated areas which are smart. Renovated Premium rooms are super. Spacious with huge bed or beds, nicely appointed bathroom with separate shower and bath. Kettle, nespresso machine and good cold fridge. All room amenities were amply replenished every day.
Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. The only let down and detracting from 5 stars was the food in the evening. Some strange taste combinations that didn’t quite come off and one chaotic set menu evening. Steaks and bar food were fine.
We would stay again but only on a bed and breakfast basis. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that were closed due to the time of year we were there.

Room is tidy and clean. High quality amenities. Plenty of choice breakfast, fresh fruits, cheese and cereal. Able to order omelette. Restaurant meals are stylish presentation and taste is so good, Asian taste, Italian and etc... I think room is cleaned morning and evening. Classic and innovation. Everything my husband and I recommend.

Everything to the standard one would expect of a 5 star resort hotel although the golf course ( San Lorenzo) was not in prime condition probably as a result of the exceptionally hot summer.

Beautiful hotel - very good service and very clean - excellent breakfast and in a lovely area . the beach / bars / restaurants are very close by - just a 2 minute walk .

Große saubere Zimmer. Architektur des Hotels Geschmacksache. Gute Lage und ruhig, aber keine 5 Sterne. Zu wenig Flexibilität des Hotels betreffend Frühstückszeiten, obwohl wir eine Anfrage machten (wir mussten früh auf den Flieger). Für ein 5-Sterne Hotel schlechter Service. Schade, wir kommen nicht wieder.

There for wedding. Not a lot of vegan food or vegetarian. Music okay lot of out of date stuff. Views scenery and hotel amazing tho. Drink prices reasonable. Staff amazing.

Been going to the Dona Filipa for many years, I would say this is not a 5 star hotel, possibly 4. The staff are not very attentive and they are lacking in atmosphere .
The rooms are dated, I understand some have been updated however I have never stayed in these. Overall I think it’s very pricey for what you get.

Pleasantly surprised after reading some reviews. Staff were fantastic, breakfast delicious! Only stayed 3 nights our room was near restaurant so noisy if staying longer. Only complaint why do hotels allow sunbed reservation for hours before guests turn up? Struggled to get 3 beds together as refuse to follow this trend of bed reserving!

Fantastic place! Beatiful decor and the best breakfast I had to date among many hotels I have visited. Staff is well trained, professional and friendly. The heated outdoor pool is a nice treat. Very close to the beach where there is designated sector with fresh towels for guests. Good restaurants nearby. Rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. Very clean. It deserves its 5 star rating.

The front desk welcomed us and said, that hotel and breakfast is already paid and if they may offer us a welcome drink. We said yes and afterwards were charged 50 Euro for that. What a rip-off!

Hatten leider einen enttäuschenden Aufenthalt kurz nach dem lockdown. Das Hotel ist sehr bemüht die strengen Auflagen zu erfüllen. Das Frühstück ist zweckmäßig und eintönig - Vergleichbar mit Frühstück in einem 3 Sterne Hotel.
Während unserem Aufenthalt hatte es ca. 5-10 andere Gäste, dennoch wurde einem Gast mit bellenden Hunden genau das Zimmer neben uns zugeteilt. Bei einer Auslastung von 10% kann ich dies nicht verstehen. Auf die Reklamation am nächsten Morgen wurde nicht eingegangen.
Preis vs. Leistung stimmt hier leider überhaupt nicht. Ich rate von einem Besuch ab.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dona Filipa. The pool area is beautiful, though I imagine could get over-crowded in summer. Breakfast was great although service in the restaurant (in getting cutlery, hot drinks or having plates cleared) was quite hit and miss. Our room was large and comfortable but I would not say it is 5 star standard, overall a good four star hotel.

Séjour très agréable, des moments inoubliables en famille!
Accueil chaleureux, par ailleurs, je voudrais remercier Milene pour son aide et sa clarté!
De très bon repas, et un petit déjeuner plus que favorable!
Une chambre magnifique, parfaitement climatisée.
Accompagnée avec une piscine pour bien se rafraîchir !
Que dire de plus ?
Je recommanderais sans hésitations!

The main reason for booking the Dona Filipa was the advertised ‘all year round heated outdoor pool’, ‘the only one in the Algarve’. We were so disappointed to find it wasn’t heated. The charge for staying there was double what we had paid for another hotel for the previous 3 days (albeit 4 star) and would have met our needs. The breakfast was excellent and an evening meal taken at the pool side restaurant was very good. Again disappointed that the Duan Duarte restaurant wasnt open as we’d planned to eat there, told that this was due to it being too hot at this time of year. I’m inclined to think this was to avoid the costs of keeping it open as well as the main restaurant by the pool. Our standard room was very nice with an excellent turn down service, but not yet refurbished as other rooms. In the short term, before refurbishment, I think the beds could at least be replaced as it was not comfortable (too hard for me) and creaky whenever I moved. So mixed feelings about the hotel but the lack of a heated outdoor pool is the only real but crucial point for us, being a showstopper to rebooking.

Great location. Facilities are clean, tidy and there is a nice family atmosphere where kids are made welcome in this hotel. The hotels beach facilities are great - beds - towels - nice big umbrellas. (Great donoughts on offer from the local bakery and the hotel will deliver a nice sandwich to your sunbed if you are really chilling out.)Super breakfast with a bit of something for everyone.We have been last couple of years (with our now 6 year old) and it works very well for us - though I have often found different people judge things differently so if you are a complainer...I am sure you will find something to go at! :)Plenty restaurants nearby in the lovely next door Praça and good evening entertainment like live singing, bouncy castle, crazy golf ... all done is a stylish way.God willing we’ll be back - defo. a holiday for recharging the barriers. Thanks Dona Filipa - we had a great time.

Just returned from a 4 day break with my 21 year old daughter. We had a wonderful time at the Dona Filipa, and we were given an upgrade to a junior suite! The staff were wonderful and very helpful. There is also area exclusively for guests of the hotel on the beach. It is a short ride from the airport and extremely close to restaurants and bars.
We will be returning!

Beautiful views over the sea and only a few minutes walk to the main restaurants, cafe and bars area (food never a disappointment!). Perfect for families. Hotel staff are so helpful and friendly. Hotel is complete luxury and always immaculate. No negatives!

The room, the service, the breakfast, the restaurants, the bar, the cocktails, the swimming pool, the beach, where do I stop. Our cleaner Dossalina was the best and most friendly maid we have encountered and we have travelled! The barmen (mixologists) were fantastic. All the people on reception were superb and were there to help and serve att all times. Been before and will be going again, see you soon hopefully Dona Filipa :)

Slightly soulless with lots of large groups of golfers. No sound proofing in the rooms and could do with more staff around the pool area. Very clean though and good breakfasts.

For the cost of the suite -only one chair on the balcony, no manning of sunbeds on beach which were uncomfortable, water only provided on first night not refreshed, breakfast poor

We have stayed at the dons filipa before and had a fabulous time. The hotel are making some changes to the outside space and personally we thought it was better before (as did our friends). Still I guess they are trying to move with the times and maybe in time we will think its lovely too.

La habitación está reformada ...pero si quieres ver la televisión , es imposible el sistema no funciona.... la wifi tanto de la tv como la que te dan es como si no existiera.
Si no vas a salir de la habitación en tu estancia y no quieres ver la tv ...está bien.
La ducha solo funciona ducha , no puedes llenar bañera.
Restaurante ? es un horror , tardamos 2 horas y media en comer. Con un honor y aspecto decadente de los años 60.
La piscina ? Pequeña para un hotel grande , con demasiado cloro, no hay servicio en hamacas. Las sombrillas son ridículas y no pueden tapar el sol de una sola hamaca .
Al ser pequeña la piscina , los niños , sus gritos y flotadores, llenan el pequeño espacio de la piscina. No existe vigilante para los niños.
La playa ? Algo lejos , no está en primera línea de playa. Aunque sí es positivo que si tiene zona reservada para los huéspedes del hotel.
El minigolf ? Como todo en este hotel, masificado y lento.
Por la noche cierran sin aviso , la puerta de acceso desde la playa y has de andar con los niños cansados, a la entrada principal, después de intentar abrir o que te abran la puerta.
Resumiendo es un hotel viejo , con mal servicio y peor restaurante. El desayuno normal. Lo de las 5 estrellas ...sería en los años 6o.
Pagas un 5 estrellas pero no llega a un 3 estrellas.

Attention aux chambres avec vue sur toit (une horreur), mais on a pu obtenir un changement. Il faudrait un plan de lhôtel dans la chambre, cela aiderait car on se perd...Pas de sauna ni hamman au Spa... Enfin, la restauration du Primavera nest pas au niveau dun 5 étoiles : trop de plats proposés, produits sans goûts (éviter les œufs brouillés...) qui in fine paraissent ne pas être de qualité. Ils devraient songer à réduire le panel proposé et offrir des plats moins passe-partout.

Enjoyed our overnight stay meeting up with friends on a golfing trip.The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment, thankfully we stayed in one of their newly refurbed rooms. Disappointed the pool was just a hole in the ground and only one restaurant open, disappointed the hotel website shows a fantastic picture of the pool and mentions nothing of their refurbishment programme.

Lucky with the weather on a recent 3 day trip as raining hard at various other times. Greens at San Lorenzo in particularly good condition for this time of year.
Despite refurbishment currently going on at Dona Filipa, staff at hotel went out of their way to look after us really well and keep giving us reasons to come back again

wir haben einen wunderbaren 10tägigen Urlaub gemacht. Hatten ein sehr gutes Zimmer, allerdings gegen Aufpreis,Das Frühstück war sehr gut, der Service am Strand mit Badetüchern und Schattenplätzen war ausgezeichnet.

Hotel and rooms of very high standard although Primavera restaurant not to a consistent 5* standard. We waited one hour for lunch one day for one meal to be served cold. It was sent back and returned having been microwaved a few minutes later - not 5* standard by any means. Location was ok although supermarket was quite a walk away and the restaurants in the Praça area were expensive and of more a lunch quality rather than dinner.

Das Dona Filipa hat als einziges Hotel eine tolle Strandlage, immer Platz im großzügigen Privatstrandbereich und deutlich verbilligte Greenfees auf eigenen Golfplätzen sind die besonderen Vorzüge, des sehr gepflegten Hotels mit schönen und geräumigen Zimmern, wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher, Deutsche trifft man kaum, Vale do Lobo ist fest in englischer Hand

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt im Hotel. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meeresblick und das mit großem Balkon.Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich.
