Great hotel in amazing location. The hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. The restaurant is also very good. In the summer you can sit outside & eat in the terrace in the square.

Great location with free parking that was very close. Hotel is getting a little worn (upholstery fraying on all furniture) and the lighting is very subdued. This is likely the aesthetic they are going for but it would be nice to have better lighting in the bathroom and at the bedside. Bkfst included hot scrambled eggs and meats, good fruits and juice but coffee was very poor quality - tasted like instant or perhaps cheaper robusta beans. Overall Id stay there again.

No coração do centro histórico. Guimarães é fantástica!
Pleasant and certainly in the old town center BUT it is only reachable on foot and nowhere does the hotel advise on how or where to park. After much circulating the town we accidentally discovered a “secret” entry-blocked side stub street used by them for permit parking. Be warned—you won’t find this on your own! The hotel must do better here.

Tolles Hotel an Top Lage mitten in der Stadt.Jedoch kann es ab Abend etwas laut sein da rund um das Hotel Bars sind.Das Abendessen so wie das Frühstück sind sehr gut.Zimmer sehr schön, da alles in einem alten Gemäuer ist, sind leider die Zimmer sehr dunkel. (fast kein Licht von aussen)

Historisches Hotel mitten im romantischen Städtchen. Parken nur au0erhalb möglich, aber nach Rücksprache mit Personal in einem nahe gelegenen Parkhaus möglich. Leider lassen sich die historischen Fenster nicht öffnen. Für Frischluftfans ein Minus. Dafür gibt es Klimaanlage. Frühstück reichlich und sehr gut bestückt.

Great location and overall service and value. The breakfast is pretty good, too. Had to knock off a star for the mattresses - they are quite old and badly sagged. Usually I don't deduct stars for a singular imperfection, but sleep quality at a hotel is kind of important, given that's what you're there for.

Muy mala atención, contacté antes de reservar para saber si podrían ofrecerme un desayuno con cacao y cereales para mi hija celiaca y me dijeron que sin problema, además les envié un e-mail recordando el tema un par de días antes, y cuál es mi sorpresa que no tenían nada preparado, solo un bollo de pan.
Además, cuando hice la reserva por error puse mal las edades de los niños y contacté telefónicamente con el hotel, la verdad es que me atendieron muy bien y me lo solucionaron.... pero cuando fuí a pagar me dijeron que eran 10,00€ a mayores de lo que tenía previsto, y cuidado con los 10,00€!! se les fue la vida en cobrármelos.
Es una pena puesto que el hotel está muy bien situado y es cierto que está muy limpio, pero la atención de camareros y personal de recepción deja mucho que desear.
No volvería ni lo recomiendo.

Hotelito tipo boutique con mucho encanto, estancias modernas y reformadas con todas las comodidades, cama muy comoda (enorme super king size), la ubicado inmejorable en pleno centro historico, andando a todos los monumentos de interés, restaurantes y comercios. La unica pega el parking que por su ubicacion en zona historica no es posible llevar el coche hasta la puerta y hay que aparcar en parking concertado a 120 metros del hotel, eso si.. llamas y te envian a alguien para ayudar con las maletas. Repetiría sin dudar.

A great hotel for a reasonable price! Located in the city center next to a lot of bars and restaurants, at a walking distance from the Castle of Guimarães. Staff are very friendly and always willing to help, caipirinhas of the hotel bar are one of the best in the town. Rooms are very large, bathrooms as well. Breakfast is also delicious. Great experience highly recommended!

Very central Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and a nice compromise between old features of the building and modern.
If you want a more quiet room choose the ones turned to the hotel main entrance since the ones facing the square tend to be a bit more noisy, although the hotel is equipped with double windows and wooden shutters.
The breakfast is quite nice and if you have a change give the hotel restaurant a try you won't be disappointed.

Charmoso e numa localização ótima, no coração do centro histórico, tem quartos bons, com produtos de qualidade. O atendimento (serviço) precisa melhorar muito, em especial no café da manhã (pequeno almoço), que aliás é muito bom. Acesso ao hotel é problemático, não é possível acessar de carro e trazer as malas pelas ruas, o que é péssimo em dias de chuva.

Great location. Room was comfortable, but for the price, not worth it.Wifi kicked us off frequently, heat could not be turned down, took a long time for hot water when taking a shower, shower pan was tilted slightly away from drain and would leak onto floor if you didnt kick it back towards drain with foot.Front door always locked; you need to be buzzed in by front desk. Unfortunately, they arent always there, or you have to wait. Very poor system.

I don’t like to see an open bathroom door in the middle of a public hallway. Walking by and seeing open toilet seats is not pleasant. Lighting in room and bathroom was rather dull and shadowy.

This was a great location and we enjoyed the breakfast more than almost all other place we stayed. The tourist info centre is very close and we did drop in to get some tips. Everything is walkable once we parked the car. Despite the hotel giving us very specific instructions on the parking, we did find it a bit challenging. Oh well, we got there. The town is a pretty town to spend some time in.

I never write a review, but this has to be done. They serve breakfast at 8. I am here on a business which starts at 8. no coffee machine in the room to have at least a coffee. They also gave me room for handicaps and no view to no wehre. So I don’t recommend this hotel if you are on a business trip. I travel very often and had never such a bad service. I expected more from a 4star hotel.

Hotel en pleno centro histórico de la ciudad. Habitaciones muy amplias, cama comodisima y baño estupendo. Por la noche el barrio es bullicioso pero las habitaciones están perfectamente insonorizadas. Buffet de desayuno óptimo. La gente de recepción es muy agradable y atenta. Ponemos 4 * porque el señor del servicio en buffet es bastante osco y hasta maleducado, no sé si porque estaba él solo con todo el servicio de comedor y terraza (demasiado para uno) o por si tuvo malos días.

This hotel is right in the heart of the lively old town, and an easy walk to the sights of the city. We discovered that it isnt realistic to drive to the hotel, but enjoyed our attempts to do so. Then one of the staff members accompanied us to the garage, where they offer free parking - very kind and helpful. The hotel restaurant is also excellent, and right on the main plaza. I would stay here again, and enjoy this beautiful city.

This could be a very nice hotel. The rooms are large and the beds are good. The position of the building is right on the main square. So, what's wrong with it? The welcome was none existent. We were not greeted in a way you would expect. We were told to fill out a form and he complained we had no passport. There were no pleases no thank you's. It was borderline rude. The hotel room needed some TLC. There was missing paint, mould in the bathroom, a blocked drain so the shower flooded the floor and entrance. We needed to ask for more shower gel, as we had one tiny bottle between two. Crazy. Later we asked what time breakfast was and we asked for a late check out, which was denied. The answers had no warmth and the woman could not care less. Breakfast was adequate, but again there was no welcome and the waiter never smiled. Food items ran out and were not replenished. Coffee was instant and the water was pumped out of a flask, this is in Portugal for goodness sake. Great coffee is everywhere, this hotel serves instant and it's supposed to be 4 star. Overall the breakfast was poor. This hotel lacks a friendly service ethos. The structure, position and room size are excellent, everything else is not. For £80 a night, I would expect it to deliver a far better experience than it does.

Schönes Hotel, mitten in der Fußgängerzone, Parkplatz vorhanden aber Anweisung könnte mit Karte sein, Zimmer toll und im März ist es hier auch noch sehr ruhig. Frühstück war dabei aber nicht lecker, Brötchen mehrfach aufgebacken, Kaffee ungenießbar, löslicher halt aber Obst und Orangensaft waren lecker, kein vier Sterne Niveau, ansonsten gerne wieder.

A rare example of a 4-star hotel that actually feels 5-stars. The rooms are quite ample and very comfortable, with all the amenities you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. A comfy bed, a large TV and toilet room also help. The location is about as good as it gets - smack dead in the middle of Guimarães' historical center. The breakfast is very complete too.

Hotel no centro da cidade de Guimarães, portanto muito bem localizado. Pessoal simpático que nos fez um upgrade na reserva sem custos adicionais. Quarto grande, decoração discreta, bem insonorizado do exterior (lembro que fica junto a zona de bares), cama confortável, ar condicionado moderno, silencioso e limpo (para quem é sensível é importante). Pequeno-almoço variado (bons croissants folhados e marmelada) e dentro do que seria de esperar. De negativo o estacionamento que fica a uns 200 metros do hotel (se estiver a chover carregar bagagens tornar-se-á penoso) - e este facto pesa para que não tenha a totalidade das estrelas.

Localização imbatível. Hotel lindo, com quartos limpos e confortáveis. O único defeito do quarto é que não tem blackout nas janelas entao se você tem problemas com luz para dormir, leve tapa olho. Das Hotel liegt in der Mitte der wunderschönen Altstadt. Es ist nur zu Fuss erreichbar jedoch sind Parkmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe.Das Hotel ist sehr schön die Zimmer geräumig es fehlt an nichts.Da es ein altes Gemäuer ist sind die Zimmer dunkel es gibt fast kein Lichteinfall.Frühstück ist gut, es ist alles Vorhanden was man braucht.Der Service ist sehr freundlich.

Hotel muito bem localizado, praticamente todas as atrações históricas estão a menos de 500 metros do hotel.
Hotel nostálgico, charmoso e reservado. Possui quartos muito confortáveis e amplos. Mas não confunda nostálgico com antigo, o hotel está todo reformado e é muito moderno. Um mistura perfeita entre antigo e no novo.
Equipe muito atenciosa e cuidadosa, sempre dispostos a ajudar.
Excelente restaurante com pratos gourmet e uma ótima carta de vinhos. Reserve sua mesa para o jantar e peça a mesa próxima da lareira.
Caso esteja de carro, ligue alguns minutos antes para o hotel, informando que está chegando, o hotel enviará um portador para ajudar com a bagagens e te recepcionar no estacionamento.
Dica de quarto: Escolha os quartos com vista para a rua Santa Maria, é mais silencioso

The hotel is extremely well located on one of the old squares in Guimaraes, in walking distance of everything. The staff were very helpful. We were here for New Year celebrations which included a beautiful meal and a part in the square. Our room, which overlooked the square, was excellent.
