The staff was fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The decor was a little quirky and parts of the hotel seemed a little worn. We had two dinners which were good but not fantastic. We really enjoyed the afternoon on the patio with drinks and sandwiches. We hiked both days out of Ponte de Lima and loved our hikes.

A localização é excelente, mas o hotel, pertencendo a um segmento de luxo, está longe de nos brindar com qualidade e requinte. A decoração, tendo apontamentos interessantes, é exagerada, sem um fio condutor, chegando a roçar o mau gosto. Os quartos, embora engraçados, têm pormenores de poupança ridículos: cama pouco confortável, o gel de banho nem sempre reposto...O espaço exterior é exíguo e pouco interessante. O melhor foi sem dúvida os jantares e os colaboradores das refeições. A Joana e o André estão de parabéns! Experiência a não repetir!

Desilusão para um 5 estrelas... preço/qualidade. Pequeno almoço com pouca oferta, quartos com pouco luminosidade, para ir à WC de noite é uma aventura, pouco espaço, as coisas em cima das outras, é um labirinto andar no quarto. Na WC a banheira com vista direta para a cama, apenas uma pia... luz deficiente em todo o lado, para poder ver ao espelho só abrindo os estores.... zero automatismos, estores que deixam sempre passar luz... nada de eletricos..... nem luzes gerais... de positivo, o espaço exterior é agradável

Fantástico!!, hotel con encanto y fuera de lo habitual , sitio tranquilo con un cuidado en los detalles siendo capaz de combinar lo moderno con lo clasico. El personal atento, amable y preocupado en dar el mejor servicio. Comida tradicional y con buen maridaje.

Hotel de abigarrada decoración pero con buen gusto. Spa pequeño pero agradable, cocina de alto nivel y trato exquisito. El alojamiento muy cómodo y tranquilo también. Precio acorde con el servicio.

This hotel is in a hilly area surrounded by nature and small villages but from what we saw in the internet when we booked it and the price per night (256€) we expected more! The food was ok but very basic and not better than in an average restaurant. The only difference was that it was decorated very precisely in little cups, bowls with little spoons and much more expensive! Yes it’s a boutique hotel full of decorations but for us it was a little bit too much decorated. Everywhere are candles, old books, cages with fake flowers, pictures, sculptures. it felt a little like a furniture store catalogue from 2006. When we arrived we followed google maps but the pin was elsewhere the hotel actually was, so we needed to call the hotel three times to find the right direction. The owner told us later that she tried to change it on google but it didn’t work out, so we just corrected the pin to the right place within 10 minutes. The pool was very dirty but the sun beds and the garden around the pool were nice. On the other hand is the main road directly next to the hotel which makes relaxing difficult. Overall it think the hotel is a matter of taste. For us it was too much decorated and it tried to be a fancy luxury hotel which is basically not the case. If it was half the price I would have given the hotel 4 points.

Magnífico. Recomendo. 5 estrelas é pouco!!! Ambiente Aconchegante e sóbrio. Arquitetura Minimalista e com muita atenção ao detalhe. Limpeza, atendimento personalizado e agradável. A visitar novamente.

Carmos is absolutely charming, but Im not sure its quite the 5 star experience it aims to be given the cost. The setting is beautiful and generally the hotel is as well, but we did find some of the facilities a bit run down. In particular, the pool needed a bit of sprucing up.Service left a bit to be desired. While relaxing by the pool it was rare that staff would check in which meant frequent trips to the front desk to request food and drink service. We elected to do a wine tasting on site instead of visiting a local vineyard which left quite a bit to be desired. In total we paid about 90 euros for 2 people to taste 3 wines, one of which we had ordered a bottle of at dinner the night before. When we mentioned this, we were not offered a replacement wine. We found this experience very disappointing and awful value. There was also miscommuincation over the lobby bar cart. A welcome letter said guests were welcome to fix drinks from the cart, and before doing so I asked at the front desk to confirm drinks were complimentary. We were told they were, but then charged for the 1 drink we each had. At check out the staff made no accommodations for the confusion even though we had purchased many services in our 2 day stay. Lunch and dinner are not spectacular. We had some alright dishes and some that were just not good . I would not recommend taking these meals at Carmos. The included breakfast however is great.

Tendo viajado por toda a Europa, EUA e América Latina, o Carmo's apresenta a melhor experiência de hotel que tive até hoje. Tudo é perfeito e pensado ao mínimo detalhe: desde a decoração à simpatia do staff, do restaurante à carta de vinhos. Simplesmente fantástico!

Ik vond het hotel in de brochure van Caractere. Hun omschrijving klopt voor 100%. Een sfeervol kleinschalig hotel waar je meer de indruk hebt te logeren bij de eigenaar en er ontvangen te worden zoals een vriend. Verrassende inrichting en iedereen is super vriendelijk. Het eten is er lekker en men gebruikt alleen verse en streekgebonden producten. En dat alles aan een perfecte prijs/kwaliteits verhouding. En ook bijna uniek, en ik weet dat te waarderen is dat het ontbijt aan tafel bediend werd weerom door vriendelijke en zeer discrete medewerkers. Ik ga er met plezier terug naartoe als de kans zich voordoet. De ligging van Carmo's is ook ideaal om de mooie streek te verkennen, en geloof me er is heel wat te doen en te bezoeken. Mijn dank aan het team.

Perfecto y agradable. Cerca de un bonito pueblo.

I've travelled extensively & stayed at a lot of lovely boutique hotels, Carmos is truly a gem. It is much more modern (art deco with a touch of vintage) than the website displays. The entire building is a concrete structure filled with fine art & collectables. It's absolutely beautiful, warm, cozy & inviting. Vintage vignettes mingle nicely with modern decor. There are no, ahem, "horses" on the property (just two ponies in the back.) They were cute, but not what I was looking to ride. The real horses are 15 minutes by cab; well worth the 12 euro taxi ride to get to Equestre Centro. One of Camros DOWNSIDE is that it's located right above a busy road; the neighbour's hunting dogs bark through the night which really bothered me because they are either crammed inside coops or chained to houses. ON THE UPSIDE. The staff are friendly, warm, classy & professional. The food is 5 STAR Michelin chef quality. I had the best salmon & clams here - EVER! I am from Vancouver Canada (we are salmon aficionados), but this was truly amazing cuisine. Even breakfast was 5 STAR, prepared by a lovely Portuguese lady (everything is home made- by her.) I don't eat pork, so they offered me the most amazing turkey ham I've ever had. There is a gorgeous spa down stairs (but I found the hot tub a wee bit too cool for my liking.) They did their best though to accommodate me in every single way. They even took care of my horse back riding one day to make up for my discomfort of the dogs barking. (I think they are immune to it.) Anyway, I would have given Carmos 5 Stars, had it not been for the dogs & the busy road below. All that aside, it's an amazing experience. If you get the chance GO!

We had a lovely stay. Hotel is extremely welcoming & friendly. All the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble for them.we would certainly go back for another visit. The food was amazing, we had half board & really enjoyed the experience.Ponte di Lima is a beautiful town, the whole area is stunning.

Stylish hotel with a character, the design and landscape well thought through. we really enjoyed the outside swimming pool, spa treatment was good too, however the dinner was disappointing - much better quality food in the nearby town Ponte de Lima. Communication could be improved, since almost no one at the hotel speaks English, and even though my boyfriend is Portuguese there still was some mis-understaning about the spa treatment and the food at the pool.

Ubicación poco vistosa y a lado de la carretera.Aparcamiento muy justo.Entrada hotel horrible, hay que hacer una escalada de aproximadamente 25 metros para llegar a la entrada y con maletas y lluvia puede ser eterna.Césped bastante descuidado. Gramon. Personal muy amable pero poco adiestrado . Habitaciones con gusto pero con detalles que desmerecen como el gel comunitario colgado en la ducha.Creo que mejorando estas cosas podría ser un hotel con encanto.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt unheimlich genossen. Das Personal ist super aufmerksam. Die HP ist absolut empfehlenswert. Die Zimmer sind individuell und liebevoll dekoriert. Der Polobereich und der Garten sind ein Traum. Jederzeit wieder!
